- Laurie (10/5): Lovely stay by the water! - John at the desk was wonderful as was the location. Easy to walk Cannery row, very quick drive to downtown, the wharf and Carmel. We enjoyed the view and second floor outside seating. Ate at 3 walkable delicious restaurants (Wave Street Cafe for breakfast, Sardine Factory and Paprika Cafe for dinner.)

- Wit (9/5): Perfect location and friendly staff - • Amazing location, very close to everything and highly walkable to town. • Reasonably priced parking. • Comfortable bed, great-smelling soap and shampoo, and super friendly front desk staff. • Thin walls and ceilings, so noise travels easily. • The rooms and elevator look much older than in the photos • The outdoor common seating area had some bird feathers and droppings. It wasn't too bad since there are a lot of birds around the area, but just something to note.

- Francisco Xavier (3/5): Disappointed - Staff was friendly. Good location! The pictures were nowhere near the reality, it did not meet the standards for a 4-star hotel, it barely did for a 3-star, and priced as a 4-star
- AxelBandelli (9/5): Top located Inn with sea-views rooms, nice patio and friendly Hosts. - Top Located with Sea View! Big Room, clean bathroom. Great patio to hang out at the fireplace with friends having a glass of wine! Very friendly hosts. Carpeted Floor in the room. I have never been a big fan of this. Was very clean, but not my personal preference.
- C2498VRdeans (6/5): Aquarium visitors - Location is ideal for checking out cannery row & the aquarium. Atmosphere is decent if you like older motels, but at least they offer a secure property where the public can’t get to the rooms. Outdoor fire pits are nice, no vending machine so bring your own unless you like free granola bars. Rooms: they’re dated, but decent & clean. It’s been awhile since this place was updated. I would probably look around more next time. Issue: we heard the people above us come in from a late night out, & then we heard them rise early & stomp all over the place. The value was decent & Carol was a delight at the front desk. For an old place the rooms were clean & we liked the wall units for the AC. I covered the noise level already, but keep in mind it’s an old place so you hear the road noise even though they have dual pane windows. Service was great & the staff helpful, nobody is on the property after 11pm until 6am. Amenities? None outside the room other than the ice maker & each room has a basic (1 cup at a time) coffee maker. Nice little fridge under the cabinet. TV should come with some instructions as it has 3 basic options, but the controller didn’t want to cooperate. Bed was comfy, and bathroom was decent & very clean.

- Rosa (8/5): - Excellent location. Walking distance to restaurants, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Cannery row. The staff was very nice and welcoming, beds were comfortable and appreciated the refrigerator! Our room was on the fourth floor and the seagulls had a party on the roof, squaking all night. We realize the hotel has no responsibility but they were very active all night. Also the shower handles are stripped, forgot to tell the staff.
- Demi (9/5): Wonderful place to stay! - The room was wonderful. Nice and cool, spacious, nice bathroom, very clean, and was one street over from cannery row so location was fantastic! The only downside would be no breakfast, and the elevator was a little wonky like maybe they need to fix the call button.

The heater in the room broke at 1 in the morning horrible noise, horrible smell. We were moved to another room. On the 2nd night, the heater in the 2nd room broke. We were provided portable heaters.

- Richard (10/5): Let's just say, when I go back to Monterey, the Wave st. Inn will be my first choice for lodging. - There was no breakfast, but the location was perfect. Within minutes you walk to Cannery Row. Tons of restaurants and cool shops. We also walked about four minutes from the hotel to a restaurant called, "Hulla", which I highly recommend.

- lisamF1081ZH (4/5): Spend a little more , stay somewhere else ! - The price was fair , but make sure to stay on the top floor as we heard all the noises of the people above us !, close to cannery row was a plus and they have a parking garage for 17 dollars a night , room was small and still dated even after they remodeled several years ago , old elevator walkway was a little uneven and the little snack bag was cool , but needs free coffee in office in morning and maybe some fruit and danishes or something. Not too many places for breakfast near by …

- Jobearoundtheglobe (8/5): A few steps from being great. - We arrived a little early and they gave us an early check-in which was very helpful as we were travelling with our seven month old baby. The room was a good size very comfortable bed but a little rundown compared to the photos. All of the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful with good recommendations. Parking on site was easily accessible also and about $18 a day within In-N-Out privileges. The fire pits were also a good touch. Just two small negatives. We could hear people in the rooms next door and below quite easily and even could hear their phones vibrating on the table. Only other negative was that the pack and play brackets baby caught was a little old and not very flat but they were very helpful in attending to our needs to solve this.

- jwjg (6/5): Good location, nothing fancy - We visited in January, a slow time. We arrived early and couldn’t get into our room (despite the occupancy rate obviously being low) but were told we could park. Our room was on the 4th floor and had an adjoining bedroom with separate entry we hadn’t asked for and which was a bit disconcerting as the door between couldn’t be properly secured. The room was basic but fine. The fixtures which were probably cute or even chic in their day are now tired. This is really a motel. What upsells it is that they give you a welcome pack of nuts and oatmeal bars, and they have fire pits on the second floor where you can have a drink at night. What would help more is to have coffee and water available in the lobby. There was nothing wrong with our stay, and the location is very convenient to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. We would stay again although we would probably look at other options too.
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent - We absolutely loved this hotel. It gave traditional American motel vibes but with the luxury. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious. The fire pit was excellent and was a great place for us and friends to chill at the end of the night. Parking was great. We got a welcome snack bag upon arrival which was a lovely bonus after a long drive. Nothing. It was excellent. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if I am fortunate enough to return to Monterey.

- Brandyn (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - The location to Cannery Row was perfect and the beds were very comfortable. The tv was a bit glitchy and would randomly turn off or switch output modes by itself.

- Marion (7/5): Bon séjour mais chambre pas assez intimes - Le personnel est charmant aux petits soins et très aidant. L’emplacement de l’hôtel est super pour aller à pied à Cannery Row. Le parking est top. La chambre que nous avions était vraiment petite et il était compliqué de s’organiser pour continuer à circuler correctement dans la chambre. De plus, la salle de bains avec les toilettes et la porte coulissante avec juste une vitre opaque n’est pas idéale. Lorsque quelqu’un va aux toilettes la nuit s’il allume la lumière cela éclaire toute la chambre. Et la porte n’étant pas fermée mais juste coulissée il n’y a aucune isolation phonique. En famille c’est un peu gênant.
