- Gonzalez (10/5): -
- Nieto (8/5): Más menos - La limpieza La alberca
- Antonio (5/5): - La proximidad a los sitios de interés del lugar La alberca, no era lo suficientemente interesante y las habitaciones tenían mobiliario desgastado
- Victor (7/5): -
- Susan (6/5): - The location was great - it was close to beach and plaza and bus stops and taxis !! Friendly enough but ive experienced much friendlier Mexican stays!! Room was small - thought we would have a kitchenette but did all right with just a fridge. Went out for dinners!!Beds were comfy - pillows lumpy!!
- Tammy (8/5): - It was well located and priced well. Sadly, like many hotels, the linens are heavily perfumed with synthetic fragrance, making it very uncomfortable to the senses.
- Edguy2020 (10/5): -

- Julie (7/5): I love Barra de Navidad - Location, cleanliness, staff, night security Loud air conditioning and fridge
- Valerie (10/5): - I had some problems with understanding the cost, but the next day, there was someone who spoke English, and explained about paying a commission. I had not been aware of that.
- Richard (7/5): It was a good place to stay right in town. - Location is perfect, walking distance to everything. Quiet: overlooking courtyard rather than busy road. Nice helpful staff.
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cigala (2/5): Bring your sheets and toiletries - Just one sheet on the bed. Stinky blanket. No shampoo! ONLY CASH.
- Colin (8/5): - Estaba feliz como una almeja, que siempre llevan una sonrisa.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Aurelio (9/5): Okay - Location and price Place is Small
- jaime (8/5): - LES FALTA ESTACIONAMIENTO
- virginia (6/5): - .
- José (6/5): - .
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Upon arrival we were told they accept cash only and the closest bank was in Melaque a taxi ride away. We were quite disappointed and decided to limit our stay to a single night rather than the two nights we originally planned for. Staff were friendly, facilities clean and property was quiet and close to shops and the promenade.
- Jose Juan (8/5): - Es pequeño el hotel pero agradable
- Kimberley (10/5): - This wasn’t a fancy hotel and we booked it knowing that. Staff were excellent as well as location. The only thing that needs attention is there was no hot water to shower. We would stay here again for a short period of time
- Noemi (6/5): - No hay agua caliente.
- carlos (10/5): - Muy limpio y todo está muy cerca. Amabilidad del personal
- Gray (7/5): would stay again and would recommend - location mainly loud airconditioner
- Cathy (9/5): This is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. They far exceeded my expectations! - I really appreciate the simple comfort of this hotel. I thought they provided excellent attentiveness to any requests and they were always checking in that I was happy. The owner Beatrice is there everyday with a smile on her face. The cleaning staff and night watchmen were very friendly and helpful as well. I wish I would have realized that they wanted to be paid in cash before I got there. I may have missed the fact that they don't take VISA but I will definitely return and be sure to bring enough pesos with me to pay the bill.
- Marie E (6/5): - Need a fridge, coffee pot, toaster
- Zachary (10/5): - Had a nice stay at Hotel Sarabi.
Did not know that there was not an ATM in Barra, or that the hotel did not accept credit cards (should've read the fine print closer!). But the Hotel Staff were very accommodating and willing to give us some time to get the cash to pay for the room.
Was able to communicate alright with my basic Spanish, but the folks at the hotel did not seem to know much English (so a heads up if you do not speak Spanish, be ready to use a translator app or something).
The room was simple and fairly minimal as far as luxuries go, but it had everything we needed. Was a nice place to come back to after a day out and about.
Great value for the price and a very convenient location.
Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Barra.
- steven (6/5): Ok for a shorter stay - Hotel Sarabi was ok, small pool and pool area. Decent size fridge and freezer, 4 burner gas stove top and some cooking utensils,ok for breakfast, but lacking for cooking dinners.
- Nancy (10/5): Welcoming and friendly - We enjoyed our 15 day stay very much. The staff, and especially the desk staff in the lobby, were very helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed being close to the center of Barra de Navidad, able to walk everywhere downtown and to the beach for wanders all the way to San Patricio.
- Marilyn (1/5): Terrible - Nothing. Cockroaches running around and we killed 2. no windows no blankets no towels had to ask for them and they were 10 years old. The ac was on but no remote to change it. See above it was disgusting. We left after the first day!
- Eric (1/5): Beware of this Hotel - No meals provided No hot water for shower. No glass for drinking . Tattered towel.. unfriendly staff .
I would never recommend this Hotel
- carlos (2/5): - No hot water at all
- Michelle (9/5): great value , clean and cute hotel - I have stayed here several times, just love it !! great location, 1 street back from the ocean . super cute hotel and the staff we’re very friendly .
- Yolanda (10/5): - This property needs a little TLC. It is very much out dated. The beds are firm. The Internet comes and goes. On the other hand, it is affordable, very clean, and the staff are friendly. There is a night man, (Manuel) that closes the main gate at 11pm and stay’s all night. I felt very safe. The swimming pool is a plus, very clean and just the right temperature.
- Sandi (6/5): - The staff is friendly, the facility is very clean. This is a low budget hotel so don't expect pillow top beds, they are hard and not real comfortable. Everything is very basic but it served our needs. It is in a great location and is very safe.
- Marc (8/5): - The beds were terrible. There was just sheets on the bed with no cover and the top sheet was too short so you were always uncovered. We had two beds in the room and the mattresses were horrible, both myself and my friend woke up with sore backs and shoulders. There was no chair or area for the second person to put there clothes when they went to bed.
- Dustin (10/5): - You get what you pay for. Basic rooms with great staff
- Sharon (2/5): - Expedia said that checkin ended at 8 pm. Our bus was very slow and we could not get there by 8 pm. There was no contact info for the hotel on Expedia’s site. I called a number I found on the Internet but no one answered.
- Jen (6/5): - The staff was okay, not super friendly or helpful. They forgot to clean our room 2 times the week we stayed. The internet was bad; i only managed to connect twice for a few minutes.
- Cameron (8/5): - Great location, terrible wifi
- Sean (10/5): - It was awesome
- Susan (5/5): basic. - location small room
- Gloria (6/5): Pleasant - No parking . Curtains are thin and does not provide privacy. No room cleaning during my stay.
- Arantzazu (1/5): Bad -
- José (7/5): Good -
- ELTON (10/5): - I really like the friendliness of the staff, though I had a unit that did not have air conditioning. The swimming pool was right outside the door and it is really a very good idea to get used to the heat in Mexico. Everything was more than acceptable, and the cost was very economical. I think the staff for a good stay.
- Joanne (8/5): - Affordable and friendly. But the rooms are plain. No microwave or coffee pots anywhere. They are a little over priced compared to other hotels in the area.
- Janice (10/5): - Great staff, quiet and good location.
- Gina (6/5): Hotel Sarabi - Very basic small room. Quite clean but no blanket on bed. Air conditioning was very cold. Location was good. It was overpriced.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Well first the room is to small the restroom too. Problem with remote control, the room was so hot. The bed so hard can't sleep well. I ask for extra sheet don't have one. This is for now
- Francisco (10/5): - Very cozy hotel and great location
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I made a reservation for this hotel when I showed up it was closed. I called them like 10 times and no one answer. I nocked for 30minutes and no one showed up. I ended up stay on a near by hotel. Terrible!
- PatPettigrew (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sarabi. It was very clean. Staff and management were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located in the heart of Barra and close to everything. Felt very welcomed, very safe and secure. Special thanks to Umberto...always smiling and happy to help. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants simple, comfortable accommodation and a very reasonable price. Bonus to have a small fridge and access to a lovely little swimming pool. Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you.
- Brenna (8/5): Barra was lovely - The town and area are in the process of being renovated and rebuilt. The people were all very friendly and welcoming. Your dollar goes so far and once you get past the initial condition of things, it’s very charming. We lived it and will be back- very quiet and relaxing. Great food, sun and early to bed and rise. If you want a chill getaway it’s amazing!
- Douglas (6/5): You get what you pay for - Room was adequate and clean. Air conditioner was variable, good thing it was not too hot that week. Cleaning of room was every other day. I ran out of toilet paper and had to ask for another roll. She said the maid would be cleaning the room later. I said no, I need toilet paper now. She grudgingly gave me a roll. Also, I was not able to get any channels in English so I asked. She did not know how to access (Dish Network), nor did her husband. I was there for a week and they never addressed this issue. Good thing I was not too interested in spending time in the room watching TV.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We made our reservations based on pictures as shown. One picture shows a Kitchen, the 5 or so that they have are usually taken by returning clients Our room, 2 beds, they were fine, the broblem is there was only 6 close hangers for 2 adults, no closet to put ones cloths, just 1 shelf. The picture of the pool looks big, but its not,its what i call an inflated hot tub and shallow, another picture shows nice wicker type furniture. but notices on the wall stating not to bring food or drinks into that area
- Haley (10/5): - Very friendly owners and 24 hour reception made it easy to check in when we arrived in the middle of the night. Always kept our room clean and felt very safe during our stay.
- Joy (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Friendly staff. Nice covered balcony area for reading and relaxing. Close to all amenities.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bring your towels hotel only gives u one small one per guest no towels for beach or pool
- janice (10/5): Great location, gracious owners, lovely staff - This was a great quiet oasis in the heart of Barra de Navidad. Will definitely be back.
- Diane (6/5): - Clean, good WiFi
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Bargain - Just like it says in the Lonely Planet book, it's run by a very kind, elegant woman and her friendly staff of high school girls, and it's a bargain, rooms are spacious with beds, couch and kitchen.
- Juliann (10/5): Best little hotel in western Mexico - Excellent value! Would book again!
- Russell (8/5): Very Friendly Staff - Enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent, and helpful. The hotel is close to nice restaurants and the beach. It was also nice and quiet at night.
- Jan (8/5): great mexican experience. - wonderful little family run hotel. very friendly people.
the fridge did not work, but we ate right away what we bought.
very close to the beach, outdoor shower to rinse off the salt and a nice cool pool with chairs and umbrellas
- Anonymous (8/5): Quiet clean hotel in good location - Very gracious staff, quiet location, very clean, double beds in rooms comfortable, and inexpensive.
- Brian (10/5): Excellent little hotel - An excellent hotel for those traveling on a budget. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to be helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Air conditioning!!! - Basic and quiet family run hotel. Pool for kids. Night staff is a bit rude, but overall reasonable hotel for a good price.
- Ivor (8/5): Clean and convenient - The accommodation is basic but clean and the staff are helpful We would stay here again. It is conveniently located a block fron the beach and adjacent to the main plaza. Feb 2016
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, safe hotel close to beach. - Owners and staff very friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed my stay there.
- Noe (10/5): Hotel Sarabi is the best! - My family and I have been frequent vacationers to Barra de Navidad and this has been by far the best hotel we've stayed at. The room was clean, the service was excellent, and the owner Beatriz was the kindest most professional individual. Located a few blocks away from the lagoon and from the beach, quiet and comfortable and at a great price!
