Guest Reviews
- Matthew (6/5): - Bruh clean the rooms
- Virginia (2/5): - We were unable to check in due to some kind of inspection going on. They took us to the Travelodge next door to stay.
- G (6/5): Needs updating but ok - Reviews let you know what to expect. Would not recommend to families with children. Really nice staff. Needs updating but you can tell it was a cute place once. There were roaches and stained towels in the bathroom. But the bed was super clean & comfortable. The heater and tv worked well and its a safe place to sleep.
- brisson (2/5): - room was roach infested and linen/towels were stained
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel was closed
- Jenny (2/5): - Didn't even stay there place smelled like smoke beer and humility
- Jorge (2/5): No mames - So it was really bad I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 .
- Anthony (6/5): Not terrible 4.4/10 - I searched for the cheapest hotel in H0te1s./c0m And besides hostels this one came up ! So I wasn’t expecting much ! The bedding had stains and cigarette burns but otherwise clean the bathroom was clean and spacious ! The balcony view was decent ! Great location ! Walking distance to food ! I would stay again if it was my only option but for a few dollars more there is much better just down the street ! I did see a roach and I was on the top floor but it’s basically a motel so who cares ! Deposit only 40$ cash
- Anita (2/5): - the room was a bit dusty and the smell of cigarettes
- Mark (8/5): Enjoyed - It was about what I expected. Little ghetto but not scary. Bed was comfy. The mini fridge was broken up on the inside so no door storage and missing a shelf. Overall it wasn't terrible. Good place if you just need a couple days.
- Christopher (4/5): Very Humbling (Nasty) NVR Again!! - The room was disgusting.. I had had some trouble finding a place affordable and had issue with a previous hotel where I had to wait on a refund. Not thinking that i was settling for that place I booked it. Pics didn’t look bad!! Well I was wrong there were roaches the hotel was nasty. The bed was clean as well as sheets. But then I couldn’t get a refund on the place it would take to long for me to get the money back and I would have been hotel less so I decided to stay. I bought all of my own cleaning supplies including a mop. I spreader the room down with bug spray, bleached it, mopped it and used a whole bottle of febreze. They did not clean this place well at all. Oh for families there is a lot of activity going on outside of this place cars come in go. People seem like they live there. As you come down the stairs you see a soda machine and trash on top.
- Jamie (4/5): - Dirty. There were bums hanginv around. Check in was a half hour nightmare. It was 5 and she had a hard time finding a clean room for us. Dont recommend.
- Oscar (4/5): - The air conditioner only stayed on when it felt like it!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fair - Remodel would be nice
- Verified traveler (2/5): ross - There was cockroaches in my room. I found 2 crawling around
- Harold (10/5): - The manager every knowable likeable right to the process and job well done will come back
- Rebecca (6/5): - There were roaches in the bathroom.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Many issues: Additional $20 cash deposit for room key and tv remote! Torn, tattered old, musty 1960's paisley drapes. Broken closet door, no hangars. Old second hand, chipped and mismatched furniture including a plastic patio chair for seating in room. Unplugged appliancees, including tv. Bare flourescent bulb for overhead lighting. On top of that, a man climbed onto my balcony and made his way to another room in the middle of the night. No in-room phone or night staff. A terrible experience!
- Guztavo (4/5): it looks better than it is - i wont stay here again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The front desk were nice.
I did not like the fact that there is no one in front deak from 12 midnight to 8AM.
Doesn't feel like a safe place to stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was a terrible experience.
The room was infested with fleas or something.
I got eaten alive.
I'm still itchy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a fun trip! Thank you! We can’t wait to return next New Years
- E. (4/5): - I strongly recommend you choose a different hotel when staying in Pasadena. Despite "no smoking" signs posted on every door, the hallway and room itself smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. The curtains didn't fully close, which meant street lights pointing into the room throughout the night. Water pressure in the shower was almost non-existent, with the temperature of the water fluctuating wildly from minute to minute.
If you do stay here, pay close attention to your confirmation email: they do indeed charge a cash deposit at check-in. For me that was $20, with my $20 bill stapled to my reservation form, and then the staple taken out and the bill returned to me at check-out. Not the worst part of the hotel stay, but something I've never seen at any other hotel.
Don't make my mistake, spend a few extra bucks for a better hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - DO NOT STAY HERE. JUST SPEND MORE MONEY ELSE WHERE. THIS PLACE WAS DISGUSTING AND HAD RANDOM PEOPLE HANGING OUT. HOOKERS AND DRUG ADDICTS WERE HANGING OUT IN THE HALLWAY. PEOPLE WERE YELLING ALL NIGHT. ROACHES CRAWLING IN OUT ROOMS WALL AND FLOOR. BLOOD STAINED TOILET AND DEAD ROACHES ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.
- Sharon (2/5): Don’t risk it! - The place smelled bad, lots of permanent residents, a roach in the room was what finally drove me off, and while they processed the refund without question, I didn’t think to demand back the photocopy of my license and credit card they took, and I had a fraudulent charge the next day!
- NA (10/5): - Great to work with. Water/shower needs to work, though.
- Verified traveler (2/5): No good - I didn’t even get to my room before I left. It was not safe. Not good for me or my employees. It was a tensely energized forcefield of drug abuse and mental health crisis’ all around. I nor my employee felt safe to stay there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We were ready to carry our luggage upstairs until someone passing by told us of the onlr old elevator at the far end of the building. this is an antique elevator. door handle to the room was broken and room curtain were torn.Room was clean and bed was comfortable. One young male was screaming and running in the the hallway. This by far was the worst motel we experienced. The location was great for our purpose. We'll not come backbecause it was not worth the money we had paid for the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we arrived paid w/credit card & was asked for $20 cash for security which would be returned when we checked out. The room was marked with stains on lamp shade. The vinyl floor was spongy to walk on & had water various places on it, Husband threw away a roach. However, the bed looked crisp white sheets & we only wanted to sleep & dash after Rolling Stones concert/Rose Bowl. Returning after event, saw three tiny roaches & could not stay, DROVE HOME. Never got back our $20 - because no one in office. Travelocity should NEVER recommend this hotel !!!!!
- Fernando (4/5): Unless you are desperate. - The place reeks of marihuana and cigarette smoke, in spite of advertising itself as Non Smoking. The carpets should have been replaced a couple of years ago and the place could use the services of a Pest fumigation company. Other than the ill mannered night attendant, I had no other contact with staff of the place, as there no one to be seen. If you want an early check out, you have go next door, to the Travel Lodge to get your security refund. So, my recommendation: Don't!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting Conditions - The room was very dirty and there were spiders crawling on the beds, bedsheets looked like they haven’t been washed in months. Overall it was all very dirty and uncomfortable, I went downstairs to checkout because it is very disgusting and I saw even more bugs, there was a huge cockroach, in a size I have never seen before. My kids and I were terrified.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No hair dryer. It awful very dirty. Refrigerator broken and just painted. So smell something. Not accept credit cards need to pay cash. TV not working.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Horrible marihuana smell to many homeless people . I just check in and chek out the same day because is something horrible i don't reconment this place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room didn't have any chairs. But the room was larger than expected.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Roach hotel. Stay away - Roach hotel. Stay away
- Villa (2/5): Not clean - Not clean or nice at all. Staff was nice but the place needs a lot of work.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very old property, rooms are upgraded with new bedding and tv, flooring should have been more cleaned but was okay. Pool was not open which was a disappointment. I did have to switch rooms as the AC in the first room wasn't cooling down for over an hour after having the AC on, luckily after switching to another room the AC and the room temp cooled down within an hour.
- Ruben (2/5): Stay away Specially if you are traveling w Family - I did not read the reviews but once I came there I saw bugs, dirty floors, and it smelled bad. Also weird people on the hallways, I did not stay to see more. The only good thing was I got my money back. I was traveling with my family. We ended up staying at Pasadena Lodge.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It’s older but they keep it pretty clean and it’s a great price
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Upon arriving it was disappointing. ,first thing i notice was gow dirty and old it looked very different from the pictures online. Check in was horrible not friendly no one greeted us and it gave me the feeling like i shouldn't be there but still needed a place to rest before our trip. The hallways smelled a lot of cigarette and the room was just ok. But definitely not coming back here
- james (2/5): First place award for the worst place to stay - If you like people sleeping in the hallway, sticky stairs and handrails, teen parties in the room next to yours until 3:45AM and a parking lot with cups, bottles and take-out foam dinner boxes then this place is for you. And if you want the breakfast and coffee that they advertise on HOTELS.COM be ready to walk down the street to another motel to get that because they don't have any of that there. There is not any onsite management at night, but just a phone number on the office door that is not answered. When I asked about an ice machine I was sent down the street to that other motel to use theirs. So I asked about an ice bucket to carry it back and my answer was "You need to fine a bag somewhere". I've always had good luck using HOTELS.COM but now I know they do not inspect the properties on their site. Had I gone to YELP.COM before renting this room I would have see the photos and reviews and never have rented this room. The room furniture was obviously bought at Goodwill, however the bed was fine and clean. The shower didn't work so I used the sink with a wash cloth- again no management onsite at night to help me with anything.
- Chris (10/5): - Excellent customer service 👍
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This is disgusting property. Dirty, smelly and charging $90.neverwill be back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I be stared I’d better roach and bed bug infested hotels in Calcutta India. Filthy, smelly, cash only, noisy. Yuk, yuk, yuk. Didnt stay there, would never stay there. F minus rating
- Em (6/5): - What we did like, was the easy access to Colorado Street, plenty of parking and payment in cash only.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Fooled by the photos - The hotel had many vagrants sleeping in tents, coming and going at all hours very frequently with street walkers turning tricks.
Bare wires exposed, smashed in phone. I could go on and on.... don't stay here!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very much needed upgrade and updated - Check in was fast, the room and around the motel is very smelled quite dirty and dusty, found used face towel in the shower, not a good sign. The place is in very need upgrade. Most of the staying guests quite noisy. Make us feel uneasy and worried leaving our stuffed inside the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Entire process was a negative experience. When my brother& I arrived at the hotel to check in (11:50pm) there was a sign at the door that stated we needed to check in at travel lodge because checkin was closed. My brother & I went next door to Travel Lodge & experienced terrible customer service. Travel lodge staff did not know what he was doing; he charged my brother's credit card and when I asked for a receipt the employee stated he "didn't know how to do it." I asked him if he could provide us w/ some form of proof or if he could make a copy or something showing that we paid, & he stated the printer didn't work. I asked him if we could speak to someone else & he stated no one else was working. He then made a phone call & had us wait several minutes in the rain. He came to the window & told us our card had been declined. My brother pulled up the credit card statement on his phone which showed his credit card had been charged for the hotel balance (around $90-97). The employee then stated "Oh it's been charged? I still need your card." We stated we weren't going to authorize him to charge our card again since we were shown online the charge went thru, he made me sign a receipt after he initially charged our card, so if it hadn't gone through why did he make me sign? He realized he made a mistake. He went back to the desk & gave us the copy of our payment, one room key & a remote control. Homeless people were inside the hotel stairway when we entered the building. It smelled l
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Smelled horrible, unclean, not a great location. Nice staff though!
- Kristy (10/5): Great place for those on a tight budget!!!! - For a newlywed couple on hard times this place was lovely. Its very affordable and it’s in Pasadena, so not too much craziness is going to occur in comparison to hotels at similar rates in the Los Angeles county area. It’s not a top of the art place however it’s very clean, the service was very efficient and the staff were very nice. Again, it’s not a top of the list type of hotel, however it’s safe, near some great restaurants and you’ll get what you pay for. As long as you come in with a positive attitude you’ll have a positive experience.
- Buddy (2/5): - This place is a dumping ground for very low income people on governmental assistance.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Residence for the poor - No one in the office, then when I asked about breakfast- he said there was none. I asked him to credit me $5 to which he replied to me to go somewhere else. I did. (I think he knew I didn’t belong
The rooms I did see were taken by full time impoverished people. Sad actually.
I left feeling like I should be helping somehow....
- Johnny (2/5): - The moment you drive up to check in... you notice the trash and bikes on several parking lots, the balconies ground level have more junk and spilling over by thieves that can just lean over those balconies to take what junk they want, no check in lobby... you gotta go next door. I felt it wasn't safe to park my car overnight , and with all being said.. i took my business elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I did not stay here, instead I booked at Travelodge next to this hotel. Brought bikes and the former hotel did not have elevator which makes it hard when you have a bike. Nothing wrong with the hotel room but preferred to stay elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible
- Verified traveler (4/5): Must be cheaper - TV was broken, no towels, very dirty, curtains ripped, old mattress.
- Lisa (4/5): - There is no pool.. no breakfast...no channels on the tv and the whole hotel smells like smoke everywhere even in our nine smoking room.. advertised very bad
- Alejandra (2/5): BEWARE! - I have never done a bad review. In years of hotel experience this has got to be worst. Dirty, appliances still had dust, bathroom mirror had a huge crack, hair clippings from a previous guest still in shower, room smelled like an ashtray, lamp shades were tagged with stains, they moved our personal belongings to a different room the second night WITHOUT our permission. Needless to say we will NEVER come back. I seriously think we got overpriced.
- Gardenia (6/5): - The beds were hard as rocks. Shower tub was dirty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable to stay - I felt the room is very comfortable. It is impressed that the staff quickly connected to me due to my careless leavimg my ID at the hotel when I checked out. Thank you for your quick service.
- Monica (4/5): I wouldn’t recommend - Front desk was consistently unavailable and unfriendly. Housekeeping couldn’t understand English so getting toilet paper or clean towels was frustrating. The first night we went to the front desk later on in the evening and the young men said they didn’t have the key to the closet for a roll of toilet paper and another towel. Since the front desk closed in the early evening there was no one to contact about the consistently loud music, yelling, pot smoke, etc
- Jose (2/5): Not clean - The room was NOT cleaned properly. The bed covers had cigarette burns all over.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don't stay here! - When we arrived, we realized what a sketchy area this was. Had we not already been charged for the room, we would have found somewhere else to stay. However, we were only there long enough to sleep and head out. The service was terrible, and the front desk clerk was rude. He was late arriving the next day, so we couldn't check out until we went to breakfast and came back. The room was old and not well kept, but the wifi was great! At least one plus!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN! I SUGGEST YOU FIND A BETTER PLACE.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No one was there to check me in!!!
The office was closed at 7:45 pm, even after I called to say I would arrive after 7.
I had to call many times no one answered the phone...ever!!!
The fire alarm went off several times inthe night.
Car alarms in the parking lot went off during the night.
No one was in the office for an 8 am check out.
Really bad.
O did I mention how filthy the room was! filthy!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty, we found ants everywhere. I felt it is for homeless. I will never go back
- SOB (4/5): downtown Pasadena - Ok for one night but it is getting run down and lacks some niceties.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget hotel 2nd cheapest I found in Pasadena. - Sketchy, you walk in and the reception has video cameras on all the floors so you figure they have had problems in the past. I always bring ear plugs to hotels and this you will need them in this one. No alarm clock. TV did not work. Table had graffiti on it.The space between the vending machine and wall is narrow, most likely not 4'. We were on the "bottom floor" so I didn't check if there was an elevator. It had a microwave but didn't use it. The coffee maker and all electrical outlets worked, so that is good
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quite spacious - Apart from the lobby and corridor area, the place looked good. Considering the price, the room was much larger than I had thought. It was clean and had a nice balcony. I did find the remnants of a carpet bug on one of the bed, but don't think there was any active bed bug or carpet bug infestation in the room.
- A mom of teenage kids that did want to stay there. (2/5): Please Read!!!! Do not stay if you have children - Never Again!!!! If you have children, do not stay and I have teenage-adult kids. The hotel does not have breakfast, Drugs, Weed, Homeless everywhere. The hotel was dirty. People even live there. I am not trying to make the hotel sound bad. Really I am not. But if you have kids do not stay. If you made reservation. Cancel now and stay somewhere else. Pay a little extra. Enough said. I warned you!!!
- Cynthia (4/5): Dump - SCARY Dump. Drug deals in parking lot. People hanging out in hallways. Pool actually belongs to Travel lodge next door and dirty. No breakfast, for $5 you can go to Travel lodge. Not what I was expecting for a hundred bucks!!!
- TK (2/5): Filthy Disgusting Smelly Roach Motel - The name sounds nice, but that's about the only thing nice about this place. It looked dubious from the moment I pulled into a parking spot, with shady characters hanging out in the parking area, and climbing over the balcony railing to get to their car. The entrance was dirty and cracked, then I had to wait for about 10 minutes outside an office while the person on duty conducted business with two people. Then they charged everything up front and help a $100 deposit. As I received my key and walked down the hallway I was repulsed by the dirty carpet and walls, and ugly doors to the rooms. When I arrived at my door, the numbers weren't even on it. Then the key wouldn't work. There were vague instructions on the key card sleeve on how to operate it, but it took me at least 2 minutes to make it work. As soon as I stepped inside I was hit by a wave of smoke-smell. Now I have a very limited sense of smell, but this was strong and choking. I looked around for a second at the ugly blanket, the horrible stained little white table, the nasty bathroom and tub, and I knew I couldn't stay there. I turned around and walked out, and demanded a refund. The people seemed concerned and offered that I go to the Travelodge instead which they were affiliated with somehow. They said they would refund my money but that it would take 2 business days to credit back to my account. I had wanted to save a few bucks. This was not worth it. Terrible, terrible place!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Furnitures are very old - Ok for 1 night only
- Rose (2/5): I would never stay there. We left after 5 minutes. - We were circled by a woman walking erratically around our car. Walked into a crime investigation. We have never left a place so fast.
- Rowena (2/5): Awful! - I got as far as the parking lot. I paid for this motel that I did not even stay in. Who would? I checked in to Ramada across the street instead.
