- Santiago (1/5): Photos don't reflect the reality. We didn't stay for a minute. - Nothing The hotel is under constructions so the services are not real. the photos in booking do not show the reality of the facilities (there is no swiming pool). It didn't inidcate the bathrooms where shared. we found a coakrooch and a lizard in the room.
We left as soon as we saw the rooms and booked a night at another hotel nearby.
- Bol (8/5): -
- Barbora (4/5): Didn’t expect much but still very disappointed - The staff is very nice and friendly! The receptionist and the laundry lady lighted up our days We booked the room with the fan only, so the heat in the room was expected (just be aware that the fan isn’t strong at all and there is no air coming into the room)
The facilities of this place were really poor, toilets smelled or were dirty and in poor condition, showers made you feel somehow dirtier after you went in
We booked it because of the pool and the pool is nice but there is so much construction around that you can only dream of relaxing
It also felt like no one cleans the place, there were a few beer bottles by the pool and no one picked them up through the entire time of our stay
The little path in front of our room had a lot of sand on it - which happens of course when it’s a place by the beach, but there wasn’t even an attempt to clean it. That also makes it hard to keep the sand out of your room and the bed especially when the bed is very low on the floor
I think they might soon open up a nicer place (the receptionist mentioned that and was very apologetic about the mess of the work), but be aware that currently it’s really unpleasant to stay there and I think it should have been advertised
Also it says it’s a “resort and restaurant” but there isn’t any restaurant currently - it didn’t bother us but it’s misleading
The place is not even close to as advertised!
- Tamara (4/5): Budget room not worth it - The property was close by the sea and close to all the shops and restaurants around. The check in was easy and smooth. Unfortunately the bathroom facilities were not working properly, instead of taking the water down the pipe in the bathroom floor, it was complety blocked and water came up while showering. In the morning there was no water flow at all in all facilities. Also the bathrooms are not just shared with guests, also local people use the facilities who live next to the budget rooms.
The room gets very hot, and we felt scared to keep the door open while night, because many people just pass by.
unfortunately we woke up from very loud noise around 2 o’clock, that came from directly in front of our room. Local boys who belong to the workers group of the resort were sitting there and watching football games. after telling them that we try to sleep, they just moved two doors further and continued.
Definitely not my best stay, and not worth it 400baht.
- Crespi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Emma (5/5): Passable - Nice food in the restaurant, nice pool. Good air on in the room. The room was very tired and there were ants, bugs and geckos. The bed wasn’t very comfortable. We have stayed in a much nicer hostel for the same price on Koh Phangan. We also had issues with our water not coming through randomly, the staff were on hand to help quickly which was kind, but it was still annoying.
- Robin (10/5): A beautiful place right by the beach. - The styling is spot on. You're right by the beach. Nothing, even the ongoing construction is barely disruptive.
- Ashleigh (8/5): Good value - Location is right next to beach, close to ferry's too, staff helpful, clean rooms, large room, hammocks, kettle and basic stuff, pretty sure you have access to the resort next doors facilities too anyways, the bed I chose to sleep in as the room has a double and a single was v comfortable, also has air-conditioning. Overall good and does the job. Little hard to find, but just look for island bungalows and its the little opening next door. Its a little rough around the edges but is a good price, like the shower leaked but I still had pressure and could shower so I didnt necessarily mind. I had three beds in my room and the douvle.was super comfy but the single was quite hard, is a personal preference I guess.
- Cameron (1/5): Couldn’t get any sleep because the ac, potentially ruined the rest of my trip if my passport does not get accepted at - The bungalows were nice and modern No warm water in the shower and it absolutely reeks to use the water.
Ac unit leaked and soaked my stuff, destroyed my passport and made my laptop wet.
- Bruno (5/5): Passable -
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay. Staff is friendly, room have space and are clean, and the location is good.
- Johan (8/5): Very good -
- Kesem (7/5): Good - The location is good and the room is clean and big 🙂.
The pool is amazing and they have a really good restaurant the place have so much potential But they are building every day from 9-17 to increase the space and the Noises can be super annoying.
I wake up from the noise
- Joy (7/5): Easy and cheap. You get what you pay for :) - Central location, easy if you want to be close to Thong Salas markets or have to catch the ferry. We got the cheapest and only wooden bungalow. Lots of bugs and super humid, as well as in the shower and the water pressure was very low
- Mark (8/5): Good and Affordable Stay - I stayed here for one night before traveling to the mainland port. The hotel is good for a short stay and offers a fair price.
The room was clean and simple. The location is convenient for travelers. Overall, a good and budget-friendly place to stay.
- Gabriel (3/5): Do not stay here - Not only was the property misleading on the photos, the room had a horrible smell to it. Everything was outdated and there was construction everywhere Everything. The staff were nice but that was about it, toilets were disgusting, room was horrid
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (1/5): Worst Accommodation! $2#23$4_ - Worst accommodation we have stayed at. It had mould on the walls, dirty floors, unfinished shower area with a drain that was blocked, so the water ran through the gaps in the floor, which invited slugs into the shower. No TV as advertised. Had to ask for fresh towels after four days, and they do not clean the room until you checkout. The lighting was so bad, you cannot see in the bathroom mirror. When it rained we had a leaking roof. Management did not care and they lied to me in person. This place is by the beach, so they over charge for accommodation. They have different options and so we booked the superior room with A/C and we were next to all the staff quarters, with so much noise. Nothing superior. Advise strongly not to book.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Great quiet location, but also walking distance from the thick of town, and on a nice chill beach with lots of windsurfing going on
- Seb (8/5): Very good - Nice bungalow with AC. Good shower. Has a fridge and kettle. Bar, restaurant and pool area are well kept. Right on the beach Mattress is knackered. Kettle but no cups and bar had none either
- Phil (2/5): Very poor - Friendly staff in the restaurant and room service. Pool and beach are nice. Rude management, very high price for what is offered.
- Kseniya (4/5): Staff behave like it’s their home, not a hotel where people want to relax - Location is great, price is pretty cheap to compare with hotels nearby 1) Cockroaches in the room. I killed two 5cm cockroaches, moreover, other bugs were sneaking around.
2) The staff living in the hotel don’t respect hotels guests privacy and comfort. They wake up at 7AM, walking near the rooms and laughing, shouting, singing the songs. Seems like their comfort is more important than guest’s comfort. I complained to the reception, but nothing changed. If you don’t want to wake up every day at 7AM from this sounds, you need to choose another hotel.
- Fabian (9/5): Superb - Simple, but very cozy. The stuff was really nice.
- Yarden (8/5): Very good -
- Konstantinos (1/5): Misleading, Unsafe, and Unacceptable – Avoid at All Costs - Normal price if the rooms they advertised are the same as the ones you get which didn’t happen to us I booked a room at The Cosy Sunset Beach Resort & Restaurant based on the attractive photos and description on Booking.com. Unfortunately, the reality was a complete nightmare. The room was not only significantly smaller than advertised but also infested with dangerous mold. The poorly installed windows did nothing to block out constant, disruptive construction noise, making it impossible to get any rest.
After repeatedly raising these issues with the staff, I was eventually forced to leave the room. I was only offered a refund for the unused days, which meant I had to scramble to find alternative accommodation at much higher costs—all because the hotel’s misleading information forced me into an untenable situation.
I strongly advise any potential guest to steer clear of this property. The gap between the promised and delivered service is huge, and the safety and comfort of guests are clearly not a priority here.
- Ana (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (9/5): Superb - Booked two rooms, the bungalow (family room) was lovely very comfortable. Unfortunately the other room was not as nice with no air conditioning, would recommend booking a bungalow and not the other rooms
- Jaroslav (8/5): Very good -
- גורלי (8/5): Very good -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Building work next to bungalow
- Erika (7/5): Good -
- Olivia (7/5): Good - The Superior Room was lovely and the restaurant was very convenient The building work going on and the cheaper rooms weren’t great. Also, the ‘balcony with sea view’ isn’t as amazing as it sounds
- John (7/5): Good -
- Philippe (2/5): Very poor -
- Valeria (2/5): Bad - Good location Perfect place to stay if you want to wake up early, because the construction machines won’t let you sleep after 8 a.m. Our bungalow was old, dirty, and full of holes, most of which were covered with toilet paper. This is the most expensive place I've stayed in Thailand, and by far the worst.
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (3/5): Hmmm, fine enough if you're on a budget - The location was good. Right on the beach and by the restaurants and bars in the main street. 7/11 is just a 2 min walk away.
5 min ride into Thong Sala and 15min ride to Haad Rin.
The staff were incredibly kind, particularly when I forgot to check out. They packed up my stuff very carefully.
Laundry service was excellent. Plenty of parking for bikes.
Generally felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Cleanliness - not the cleanest. Lots of dust from building works being carried out next door.
Bathroom - the gaps in my bathroom were stuffed with tissue, and it looked pretty gross. The shared bathrooms had either hot water or pressure, never both.
Building works - it would have been good to know this was happening beforehand, woken up most mornings by banging and chatter outside my door, even with ear plugs.
Cost - the cost was significantly higher than normal as i was on the island for New Years Eve, not good value for money, but beggers can't be choosers.
- Geraldine (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Great location, comfortable bed, AC. Laundry services on site, a pool. Quiet. Just to note, check in is 2pm, not the time stated. Could do with more/better lounges by the pool.
- רוני (8/5): Very good - Close to the beach very nice bungalow’s and apartments. Good people I was in a room with shared bathroom and there wat a lot of ants
- Emilia (6/5): Pleasant - Near beach and city Only a room with a bed and it was raining inside because we couldn’t close the window
- Miry (8/5): Very good - Right on the beach, great pool and restaurant Only one window, a bit dark and only AC option, so was a bit airless at times
- Mootaz (9/5): Superb -
- Synelcar (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location, friendly staff, in front the beach, very good swimming pool ❤️ Nothing
- Rich (4/5): If you like dogs barking through the night and people chatting, this is the place to stay. - The property is a good size The walls are dark
- Derek (2/5): Noisy and messy - The sea The room was not very clean and infested by ants. There was construction going on and there was cement, labourers and equipment just outside door. Noisy all day long. An unpleasant mess.
- Phoebe (7/5): Basic but comfy. - We booked one of the older wooden bungalows due to the lower room rate. Basic but had a comfy bed and a private bathroom. Said it had twin beds but we had a queen/king mattress instead (this wasn't an issue for us). Nice to have our outdoor porch with a hammock and table to relax. The bar has well-priced drinks and a nice vibe. Laundry service was great. Close walking distance to supermarket, restaurants and 7/11. Cold shower. Due to it being a wooden bungalow, there is no soundproofing (an issue if you have noisy neighbours) and also large gaps where mosquitoes can get in.
- Nikolai (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jean (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (5/5): It’s okay but not for nice holiday - At the beach and near the main road where many shops are located. There was everyday from morning til night construction work. Was not so comfortable for us, even if we understand that hotels need to renovate. But we would not choose this one again, there are a lot nice hotels around as well.
- Will (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (1/5): I’d rather eat shit than stay there again - Nothing When we arrived there was no water and than about an hour later no power for 2 hours the property is below average hated my time there
- Bilton (10/5): A lovely relaxing retreat - The rooms themselves do the job for what you pay and were very clean, the hammock on the porch is a nice touch too. However the location is the selling point. The property itself leads onto the beach and accompanied by a lovely pool and bar/restaurant, it’s such a beautiful area and is highly relaxing, particularly for sunset. It’s a walk away from the pier and town which we made use of most nights. Extra points to Jack the dog, an excellent friendly host, as well as the lovely staff who were attentive to any needs. Some construction work going, didn’t really affect our stay.
More and new equipment around the pool.
- Steve (7/5): Good -
- Owen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Griffiths (8/5): Very good -
- Joselyn (6/5): Pleasant - Staff very friendly, in front of the beach and very relaxed environment. Very close to a 7 eleven and different restaurants. The rooms are a bit out of date. They had to repair the shower because we didn’t have hot shower (it was not a problem tho but they offered to fix it). There were holes under the bed that allowed mosquitoes to come in so we were killing lots of them.
- Su (10/5): will go back again - very nice n/a
- Roxzene (8/5): Very good - I love the concept of Cosy and really enjoy the magical views. The manager is great. The lady at the laundry facility is always very sweet and smiling. The rooms are just that Cosy and extremely affordable. The restaurant has a great choice of food, but the service is lacking. I ordered a sandwich and was told 30minutes later that they couldn't make it for me.. My husband already had his food. I was starving this day :(
- Stefano (6/5): Pleasant -
- Khazanov (8/5): Very good -
- Mathys (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mann (8/5): Great value for money - Great location, staff were lovely. Right on the beach, nice pool and restaurant.
- Agnieszka (9/5): Superb - Everything was perfect. I stay at the cozy quite often when I visit Phangan. The only thing is that we didn't have hot water. It would be nice to shower in hot water especially in the rainy season.
- Erik (7/5): Basic accommodation but ok - Not bad No AC rooms are hot
- Sophia (7/5): Amazing value for money! - Lovely staff!! Big rooms, right on the beach, food at the restaurant was good, and pool was a bonus! Excellent value for money!! Location wasn’t amazing as nothing was going on - but may have been a quieter time on the island.
- Fraser (7/5): Good -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Kyle (6/5): Pleasant -
- Emre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Itay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Takafumi (7/5): Good -
- Tobias (1/5): Better skip this - Nice Location, but that's about it. All of the Window Locks were either broken or non-existent. Everyone can just get inside the Room without a Key, therefore I felt very unsafe for my valueables. The Room is also getting hot like a Sauna
- Dylan (7/5): Good -
- Sophie (8/5): Very good - The room was spacious, and the terrace was beautiful with a relaxing hammock. There were plenty of places to hang and store things, which was super convenient. The owner was friendly, and the location was great, just next to the beach. Water pressure could be better
- Luegmayer (7/5): Good - Check-in was fine, employees were helpful, restaurant had good food. Restaurant closed very early and pool chairs were broken, other than that it was good.
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional - Booked the AC bungalow for one night. The bungalow was clean and spacious. There was a fridge, kettle and toiletries. I enjoyed my stay there. All was good. N/A
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Everything l Bar closed too early
- Anup (8/5): Very good -
- Alon (8/5): Very good -
- M (1/5): Bad -
- Darro (7/5): Good -
- Marnie (8/5): Very good - All outdoor furniture broken, wifi terrible
- Nader (7/5): Good - The room was very basic but quiet. Smooth check in. There is 7/11 supermarket nearby.
There is no TV, coffee or Mug, you have to borrow from the hotel restaurant. There is a motorbike rent next to the hotel and prices starts from 200 Bhat per day which was cheap Would be better to provide the basics such as Coffee and Mug.
One of the restaurant dogs followed me and didn't stop barking on me and some other people, some people are scared from dogs so please do something about it.
- Jamie (4/5): Disappointing -
- James (7/5): Good -

- Ronel (10/5): Exceptional -
