- Meander67913834007 (10/5): Our happy place - Awaiting our annual anniversary trip to Island Vista to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We have been visiting Island Vista for 18 years. We only meant go once but completely fell in love and look forward to it every year. It became our go to place. It is so relaxing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. The property is well maintained. We are anxious awaiting our visit.

- andybN4546NL (10/5): A really nice place - My wife and I stayed two days here and really enjoyed ourselves. We had a grand suite on the top floor. The weather cooperated for the most part but it was pretty foggy in the morning and evening. The suite had just about everything you could need including dish soap (but not laundry detergent). The beach is right there though they have two small pools and a jacuzzi.
- H5743GImichaell (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice place to stay. It is clean, safe, and ocean front. There are several pools, some are heated, with a lazy river also heated, two spas, and towels located at the wet areas. We were there for two days.
- Burb2261 (10/5): Beautiful resort on a quiet stretch of Myrtle Beach. - We stay at this lovely resort every fall. I think this is our 6th or 7th stay. This visit we were fortunate enough to have a room on the penthouse level. The views were simply amazing. As always, the staff is excellent. We see the same staff every year which speaks volumes for the quality of the work environment. The beautiful suites, the excellent food and wines, the solitude of that beautiful stretch of beach keep us coming back every year. It is the highlight of our year and we can’t wait to return.
- rosemaryg521 (6/5): We have stayed at island vista for years and I’m sad to say this will be the last time. - The pool area as well as common areas are in need of renovation. The staff is amazing and they work hard to maintain the property, however it’s time to replace and remodel and update pool furniture, pool deck. Unfortunately, for the second year we have had our beach chairs stolen while at the pool. Two of our chairs were taken this year while in the pool or hot tub. Finally and most concerning were the babies that were in the hot tub. On two occasions there were babies under 2 which is extremely dangerous for the baby and unsanitary for adults. One of the hot tubs had to be closed for an incident. I do understand this is the parent’s responsibility, however when they are not smart enough to keep the children out, SECURITY needs to enforce these rules for the patrons safety. Very sad after 18 years of vaccinations at Island Vista that will be the last time.

- Jerry (8/5): Very nice. - The room was very clean and comfortable great view from the balcony. The biggest complaint and it may sound petty but the toilet paper was very rough, so much so that we went out and bought softer toilet paper. Also, the parking is very, very tight. Our car is not very big but it barely fit in the spaces.
- Febee (6/5): Disappointing Dining Experience - The hotel is clean, and the staff are friendly. However, I was disappointed with the food. For the price, I was expecting something that tasted more like home-cooked meals, but unfortunately, it was just like typical hotel food. Even the coffee wasn’t complimentary.

We ate several times in the restaurant which had great service & great food. I would highly recommend Island Vista to anyone!

I like that the resort didn't feel corporate and felt family-friendly. I think if they replaced the carpets, it'd do wonders for the place.

Our two bedroom condo was very ,very nice. Everything I have seen so far has been clean , which is important to me. The view from our room is indescribable.This was well worth the money .We will be returning customers for sure.

- 136latoyae (8/5): Relaxing - This place is very nice. The amenities are wonderful. The pools and lazy river are clean. I really love the tiki hut and live music. There is a restaurant here as well that serves delicious food. I loved the hot wings. Im here right now in a 3BR/3B condo. The room is marvelous. The balcony is huge. Everything we need is stocked in the kitchen, and the dishwasher included. This unit also has a full washer and dryer. I've had to call the front desk twice to fix the sensor that works the AC from the balcony doors, but other than that, it's been a wonderful stay. Now, with all that being said, the atmosphere is very different from last year. I've noticed the racism from other guests. They aren't speaking and looking at us as though we shouldn't be here. I still would recommend this resort to friends and family because the resort itself is wonderful.

- Keri (10/5): - The hotel offered many accommodations to the point you didn’t have to leave the resort if you didn’t have to, I will stay at this resort again.
- Kyamia (6/5): The Good and the Bad - Location of the resort is excellent. The fact that it is on a beach by itself almost is very appealing because it’s not very crowded. If we come back to this hotel, that will be the reason. Housekeeping is also great. They bring you new towels every day which I have been to hotels in the past that say they will do this and don’t this one actually does. You need to use a key card in order to access the pool towels there are chips inside of each pool towel that track them and it charges you if you don’t return them. I found this to actually be very nice because you had pool towels every time you went down to the pool. The pools were very nice. We stayed in a three bedroom suite and the space was very nice to have. A few things that I wish I knew before coming: They do not give you carts to take your stuff to and from the hotel room -they require you use a bellhop service, which is fine upon arrival because that’s easy but when leaving, it is very difficult because we are not nearly as well packed as when we arrived and needed to make quite a few trips down to our car and take time to organize it like Tetris, which bellhop service could not spend the time do so (and we also would not want them standing watching us because that’s very stressful). We asked if we could make use of the cart because we could do it very quickly and one person just stay down with the car with the kids while one person takes it back-and-forth and one very large trip but they said no. We had to take our stuff down basically bag by bag, (husband is loaded down while I watch the kids) which took an incredibly long time (this is what we are currently doing still and I’m hoping to be out by checkout time, but I’m not sure we’re gonna make it due to this reason, even though we started loading the car over an hour ago. If we could’ve loaded a cart down, it would’ve been much quicker but due to the fact of having to wait on the elevators with bags of luggage and stopping on every single floor, it’s taking 10 to 15 minutes just to get down to the parking lot each time. I’ve never been to a hotel where we’ve not been able to load our car quickly.. We have an extremely large long and tall vehicle and did not realize that you cannot park a car that is above 6’6“ on the first level of the parking deck which made parking extremely limited. The spots are incredibly tiny (yes the “overflow parking also” and I was not comfortable parking the car so I essentially got hotel trapped while my husband did business stuff because I could not have re-parked my car, yes I could have left, but not have parked it again if I needed to come back to the hotel-although even leaving a parking spot means multiple point turns to get out of it because the parking spots are so small. Halfway through the stay (Fri-Sat) we went to eat breakfast at the restaurant here in the hotel when we arrived, there weren’t many people, but after we walked in quite a few people walked in about five minutes later- we put in our order in an hour later we were still waiting on our order, but people that had been sat since we had sat down, had already gotten their food which was almost identical to what we ordered- so we ended up leaving without our food, cause I said it was still going to be a while -mind you we have 3 kids and keeping them happy during this time with feat in itself. So overall, if you’re not bringing a lot of stuff and you have a small vehicle this hotel is great, but if you are bringing a lot of stuff, be aware about the bellhop service and if you’re driving a larger vehicle, also be very comfortable parking in very tight spots.
- MoraFamily1 (8/5): Not the Marriott, but adequate and family friendly - Not the Marriott but not tacky. Adequate, cozy, family friendly. Very reasonable rates. Good for a one night stay. Right on the ocean. Nice pool but pretty small. Did have a good location without nearby other hotel traffic on the beach. lazy river was more like a lazy pond as it didn’t seem that they had any current running. Would recommend for a night or two.

We especially loved the balcony—it was spacious and had high-quality chairs that made it a great spot to relax. While there were a few things we didn’t love, we would definitely consider staying here again. The on-site food was overpriced for the quality, and a 20% tip was automatically added to every bill. This was clearly noted on our breakfast receipts but not as obvious at lunch, which caused a bit of confusion. Since we only stayed a couple of days, we didn’t use the kitchen, but next time we’d plan ahead with groceries or use a food delivery service—it would cost about the same and likely be better quality. One downside was the lack of a box fan in the room. The AC struggled to keep up, and it got uncomfortably hot at night. Also, the parking spots were way too small. It was stressful to handle the parking garages! Still, the location and amenities made for a mostly great stay. I would recommend Island Vista Resort to others.

- agg714 (10/5): Thanks, Island Vista - We just returned from a visit to the Island Vista. My mother-in-law passed away in April after a lengthy illness. My wife and I were much in need of a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Island Vista proved to be perfect for our needs. An oceanfront one bedroom suite was comfy and spacious. The house keeping staff provided the best service we have experienced since prior to the pandemic. This includes a couple of expensive venues in the Asheville area. We dined in the hotel restaurant one evening and the poolside Tiki Bar everyday of our visit. Don’t expect the typical hotel food here. They far exceeded our expectations. We found the design of the pool landscaping to be exceptional. They have groups of palm tree clusters providing shady areas with no need of an umbrella. The pool has the usual lounge chairs , but also had areas with outdoor furniture groups each with an umbrella or two. The Island Vista has carried attention to detail to a higher level. Myrtle Beach is famous for cheap plastic chairs on their balconies. Island Vista provides the nicest most comfortable woven rocking chairs for your balcony and poolside. Don’t know of a better South Carolina venue for my afternoon martini than my balcony at the Island Vista………………………..cheers! 🍸

We have visited Myrtle for my whole Life but had family home to stay (until recent passing). We needed somewhere that felt like home and BOY DID WE FIND IT! We were so happy from the moment we arrived. FRONT DESK- Amazing.. quick/efficient/helpful. Our room (PH-6) BEAUTIFUL. While some Minor updates could be done that is more personal taste than anything. Our housekeeper Shana was beyond exceptional. I was so thankful for her and amazed and how quick and thorough she was. *Pictures Included* We loved all of the dining and bar staff- they were helpful and honest with recommendations. They were quick and friendly and not overbearing. The outside security and maintenance were wonderful. I appreciate the security (to each their own) and FINALLY a place that checks if you have a wristband they give you at check- in. It was wonderful! The pools were perfect For our family and love that there is a lifeguard stationed right in front of our resort while taking time to spend on the beach. We will be back again and again! We are also very sad to leave here.

We had an oceanfront suite which was very tastefully furnished. The facilities are very clean and beautiful. The beach access is steps away. The pools are shaded by many palm trees and surrounded by cushiony outdoor furniture. The real secret of this resort are the people that pamper you from the moment you check in. Starting with Stephen who is the manager of front guest services. He guided me when booking this resort many months before. He was spot on what to expect. Big THANK YOU Stephen! Also a shout out to Jan and AJ at the front desk. The Cypress Room restaurant was awesome. The menu was exquisite. , and the outdoor seating was an added gem. We met the manager of dining, Michael . He made sure all of our needs were taken care of. Even chef Stephen came out to greet us. Can’t say enough about Shane and Mark who made us feel like family. They were awesome! Stella constantly filled out cups of coffee at breakfast and Kevin made us laugh. Rodney, security at the pool area, was very friendly. And I also want to mention Todd in night time housekeeping. We made friends with all these people, which ensures that we will be back again!!!! ~ Shirley & Sal~

Voucher is included at checkin. This is worth the price. I highly recommend this place especially for an extended stay. We didn't want to leave.

And the outdoor area has nice furniture with different places to sit, Small work out area, but there is one there. On site restaurant is a legimately good..lots of locals seem to come in for it. It right next to a good pedestrian area (with a kids playground nearby) and some outdoor workout equipment along a path. The condos are individually owned. We stayed through Luxury Beach Rentals in a 4 bedroom unit, which itself was great--fully stocked for cooking, huge living room, great balcony.

Well stocked kitchen---easy to cook, make cookies, etc. Huge living room, great deck, w/d. Island Vista is great. In a great area where there are not alot of other condos. It is easy to walk on the beach, but there is a nice sidewalk area. Restaurant is great. Indoor and outdoor pools (heated), hot tubs and lazy river (inside). Workout room is on the small side, but well located and does the job. The best part about IV is all the comfy outdoor seating--couches, rocking chairs, and tables where we could take food and eat. Parking garage is tight. Will definitely be back!

Our room overlooking the beach was spectacular, the grounds were clean and safe, and the beach was just incredible. - Maps22395743202 (10/5): Perfect Accommodations for LARGE Families - My family lives in Canada and I have been dreaming about staying here for years...if we ever made it to Myrtle Beach. I am always looking for accommodations to accommodate my large family. This resort was perfect for us because none of our 'kids' had to share a bed. Our children are now age 17, 18, 20 and 22 and after driving for 18 hours straight to get here, we needed space to rejuvenate before heading to Florida. The Oceanfront 3-Bedroom Corner Suite was PERFECT for us. The 2 girls and the 2 boys each had a bedroom with 2 double beds, a bathroom and a view of the ocean. Both bedrooms were pretty much identical so no one had to negotiate who got the better room. And my husband and I had our bedroom at the other end of the condo with a nice size Jetted Tub, separate shower and balcony access. My only complaint...which wasn't THAT bad...was that our Master Bedroom didn't have as nice of a view because of a roof that was partially blocking our view to the ocean. Room 715 was one floor too low. If we would have had a higher unit the view would have been spectacular from every room. But no worries! We really had nothing to complain about. If we would have been staying longer, we would have been disappointed that the lazy river was closed for renovations...but we were headed to a private villa near Orlando with our own private pool...so we didn't feel the need to use the pool here. Check-in staff were excellent. They got us into our room a few hours before official check-in time - which was very much appreciated. They called us to let us know when our unit was ready so that we didn't have to hang around the lobby. The location is peacefully perfect. It is within walking distance to a few stores and restaurants and located on a gorgeous stretch of beach...away from the hustle and bustle of the busy beach area. We walked the beach in both directions - enjoying the view and collecting shells. Sadly, the ocean is too cold to swim in at the end of January...even for us Canadians...but we knew this in advance...so the beach experience far exceeded our expectations. Just an overall gorgeous property on a beautiful beach. I'm glad that we finally got to experience it!

You have to rent DVDs if you want to watch a movie because there are limited channels and no apps. I booked it without knowing that. Also, I was looking forward to the indoor pool since it’s February, only to find out it was out of service when I arrived. That was pretty disappointing. We made the best of our stay but will not be returning or recommending. Let me mention, I’m not hard to please.

Pauline, that works at the front desk, is awesome. We were there this time for our 25th wedding anniversary. And she knew that when we checked in and she surprised us with fixing up our room and decorating the bed and giving us some chocolate covered strawberries and some really nice sparkling grape juice because we do not drink alcohol. Thank you so much, Pauline. You're fantastic! The only bad thing that we experienced this time, was every night some of our neighbors in the hotel were smoking pot and we could smell it even with the door shut. And security came up to our room once to look and see if they could figure it out. That would be our only negative comment.

- ElizabethMyrtleBeach (8/5): Nice Stay But Our Room Needs New Pillows - Overall we had a nice stay. There were a few minor shortcomings (i.e., not great lighting in the bedroom; tub/shower that had a slight tilt) but nothing that detracted from our vacation. My only real complaint is that the pillows were not that comfortable (in PH9); a few were lumpy and all were about half the size of an average pillow. We've been here before this is the first time we had bad pillows so maybe it's just the suite we were in. Aside from this, everything was fine. Restaurant and bar are very nice too. Having an entertainer at dinnertime was a nice touch. Food notes: At the bar, the Tortillas with Salsa and Fried Oysters were very good! The Caprese (mozzarella and tomatoes with balsamic) however, was bland - no seasoning and the balsamic wasn't the right kind; also the mozzarella balls seemed dried out. Don't know if it's normally so bad but it was the other night. At the restaurant, the Stuffed Pork Chops and Chicken Francese were delicious. So were the roasted carrots and brussel sprouts. My husband also liked his Calamari appetizer. People: Most of the staff, especially Steve, the Manager, were very nice. I won't say anything negative about anyone in particular but one or two employees should remember they are in the hospitality business, and wouldn't have a job there if it wasn't for the guests. All in all we enjoyed our short time at the Island Vista and will definitely come again.

We were traveling with a group from Dunlap Travel. We found our room very well appointed with beautiful views of the ocean with breathtaking sunrises. The Housekeeping Staff did an excellent job making sure we had clean towels each day. What a pleasure to return to the room and have the beds made and everything tidy. Pauline, at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we requested. The service and food in the restaurant was outstanding. Anthony, our server, was a pleasure. He was very efficient and had a witty personality (which we enjoyed). Oh! and the Christmas decorations were so beautiful. Look forward to our next stay.

My two sisters really do not care for Myrtle Beach, but we were celebrating our mother's 75th birthday. When we checked into the hotel and opened our room door, they both were blown away and really love it. They even said they was coming back to visit Myrtle Beach, only to stay at Island Vista. They staff was amazing but my check in was awesome smooth and very friendly. Jacarra's, customer service was beyond awesome we need more of her in the customer service industry! 5 stars!!!! I will be back, and Island Vista is the only place I will stay.
- SometimesTheBob (10/5): Will Be Back - I stayed at Island Vista in late October and early November while in MB for some R&R. I went solo and stayed in the Grande Suite (splurging on myself!). This is not the first time I have stayed here and knew pretty much what to expect. This is not a five star resort, so do not expect that. What is fantastic about it and why I come back are the view, seclusion, and the staff. The room was clean when I got there and well stocked with cooking stuff. The suite is more like a mid-tear condo and has the same things you would expect in one. I was there 6 nights and had a fine time. This is my go-to place to stay in MB. If you are looking for a 5-star resort, look somewhere else. If you want plenty of space at a reasonable price with a five star view and location with a friendly staff, this is the place for you.

- 221arethab (6/5): Try It. You May Like It. I Just Didn't. - The resort is in a quiet area with easy beach access. The lobby is well decorated. The pool area is beautiful, just as it shows on the website. The rooms are very clean. The front desk people were extremely nice. Upon check in at 9:00 at night, there were no carts to carry our things to the room. To say parking is tight is an understatement. Parking is beyond tight. There were people outside of their vehicles directing other drivers into their spots. There is no separate entering and exiting exit, so again parking is a nightmare. The 1st bedroom had a window that looked out to the corridor. I'm used to views of the ocean. You also had to walk down the hall to a bathroom. The rooms overall were small with little to no room for extra things like beach chairs, towels, etc. The pools were just mediocre. My family stayed in them about 10 minutes and headed back to the room. This is a nice resort for some people, but after having stayed at a nearby resort on my last visit, I will not be coming back to this one.

A few years ago we had a terrible incident at another hotel so we were trying to find a very good place to stay. The one thing I see a lot of in MB is that a lot of hotels the rooms are privately owned, so it is a gamble on what your room would look like. Everything looks so wonderful here. I will say it does look a little outdated and not as crisp as a lot of places are leaning for these days. The beds are comfy. The furniture is okay. The kitchen is small, but it gives you that home away from home feel. I would live here. That's how satisfied I am of this place. It's clean. It's functional. It's perfect. 🖤

I will get to that later in my review. We are going to focus on the good things. This was my first time staying at the resort, and it will not be my last!! I absolutely LOVED this resort!!! Shortly after I booked my trip, I had to modify my stay. I called and spoke with Jen, and she made the magic happen! I requested a high floor suite. She explained that she could not guarantee the high floor, but the resort would do their best. When I arrived, the front desk agent, Jacarra, checked me in. She provided top-notch customer service! I was treated like I was a long-time established customer. I was given a gift card for the restaurant, which was a very pleasant surprise. I had to wait just a few minutes for my suite because it was still being cleaned. Jacarra apologized for the wait. I checked in a little early, so I was prepared for that to possibly happen. Now on to the suite.. I stayed in PH02. During my ride up on the elevator, two guests got on a few floors up and noticed what floor I was going to. They said "Oh you're going to the Penthouse floor." I was clueless because I wasn't aware that the PH meant Penthouse. They continued and said, "We're coming with you!!" We all laughed, and they said,"Enjoy your stay!". I got to my suite, which was at the end of the hallway, and when I entered, it took my breath away. The suite was absolutely beautiful!!! The kitchen had every gadget and small appliance that you could think of!! I also had a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom that was sooooo relaxing! The view was out of this world!!! I loved the fact that I could walk onto the balcony from the master bedroom. The suite would be perfect for a family getaway. The balcony was huge with plenty of chairs and tables. There was a brand new washer and dryer in the suite, too. Now, onto the unpleasant portion of my stay... I decided to use my gift card for the restaurant to get breakfast on the first morning of my stay. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes & the huevos rancheros with no peppers or onions in the home fries. I have a very high onion allergy. When I picked up my order, the customer service was great. However, when I called back because there was a very important and scary issue with my order, the way it was handled is where things went left, and the five-star rating was lost. I was eating the home fries and noticed that there were onions in them after I specifically said no onions. Thankfully, I had my allergy medication with me. I also noticed that the packet of sour cream that I was given for the huevos rancheros was expired. I called and spoke with a woman just to let her know of the errors with my order and to ask them to be careful because food allergies are extremely important. While I was talking, I explained to the woman that I stressed no peppers or onions in my home fries. She rudely interrupted me and said, "We don't put peppers in our home fries." I did not know that. Then she proceeded to say, "So you want new potatoes?" I said, 'No, I don't want a new order, I just wanted to make someone aware and to ask them to be careful." She rudely interrupted me AGAIN and said, "Oh, we're NOT giving you a whole new order!" Again, I never asked for one. She didn't apologize, and when I told her about the sour cream, she said "Oh I'll check the box in the cooler." Still, no apology. I got frustrated and just hung up. I went down to the front desk to make them aware of what had just happened and to check the dates of availability for a future stay, and Lauren helped me. She was so sweet and apologized profusely for my experience with the restaurant. She offered to give me another gift card, which I politely declined. One bad experience was enough for me. By the way, the sweet potato pancakes were awful. They had absolutely no flavor, and they were rubbery. The check out process was a breeze. The general manager even thanked me for my stay and asked me to come back for another stay. I can't wait to go back!! And to Jaime in the restaurant, you cost the resort a five-star review from me. Be kinder next time and put yourself in the customer's shoes. Food allergies are nothing to take lightly.

- Janice (10/5): - We love staying at island vista, it really is the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in. The grounds are beautiful as well especially at night with the firepits and lights outside by the pool.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good but could use improvement - The hotel looked great online. Our room smelled like socks & had a large stain on the carpet. One would think housekeeping would notice these things & get it taken care of. Although, I didn't mention the smell & stain to anyone, so I am partially to blame. We had a great oceanfront view & could hear the guy on the green playing & singing. We got a couples' massage at the cabana & it was awesome! The restaurant was nice & the food good, if a bit pricey for the hotel guests.

- john (8/5): - Checking in was intersting the person a younger person was "sucking on a ice cream" while trying to check us in. He tried to charge me agin the full amount even know I already paid. He made some other simple mistakes and really had no idea what he was doing. He was nice but had no idea. Otherwise everyone was great the room was sooo clean and the staff very nice. I would go back again without hesitation.
- Ezra (2/5): - Housekeeping does not clean the room. Only drops off towels.No Breakfast. NO LIFEGUARDS at pool or Beach. NO BEACH CHAIRS at Beach except at a ridiculous charge, that must be vacated at 4.30. You must leave the room after a week at 11.00 AM . NO CONSIDERATION to leave a little later.
- Evelyn (10/5): - Spacious apartment, clean great amenities in room. Clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend it. Great for big families too.
