Guest Reviews
- Scott (10/5): - Clean room, hot water, great continental breakfast, close to downtown but quiet at night. Staff were courteous &friendly.
We would stay again!
- Andrew (10/5): - Traveled for business and it was perfect for a quick overnight trip. The
- jonh704 (10/5): Quaint Buildings, Great People - If you want a glimpse into how vacationing on Martha's Vineyard was in the 1800s (but with most all our modern conveniences), the Pequot Hotel is an excellent choice. The buildings are modern adaptations of some of the beautiful, quaint and interesting gingerbread cottages that were erected in the mid-to-late 1800s. Don't expect rooms like you would find in most modern-day hotels. The rooms are small, but comfortable, clean, have attached private baths and plenty of power outlets to accommodate all one's devices. The shower had plenty of hot water and lots of pressure. I found the bed comfortable. But, my wife's bad back did not like the mattress.
The staff was great! Everyone was friendly, helpful and did their best to see we had a pleasant stay. If you bring your car (not recommended in the Summer), you must be aware there is no off-street parking and limited street parking. That said, we were always able to find a spot near the hotel.
- VERNICE (8/5): - Chloe checked us in. She was very nice. Although the hotel is clean, it could use updating. The AC unit was very loud and didn't provide adequate cooling. It kept us up all night. The room and shower stall were tight. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It was the shoulder season so the hotel wasn't busy. My husband asked if we could charge our scooters in the outlet on the porch, Jill said no with an unpleasant attitude. Since no one was around on a Monday morning in October, it would've been a nice gesture. We're adults and would've been respectful about it. If people were sitting on the porch, we would understand. Not one person walked by or used the porch while we were on it. It's not a deal breaker but it would've been a kind thing to do and much appreciated. The hotel has a cute, cozy vibe. Overall, it was a good spot for the night.
- Charles (10/5): - Staff was great
- Travel726887 (10/5): Fantastic stay in Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vineyard! - We had a wonderful time staying at Pequot hotel! Location was ideal and we loved the complementary happy hour Friday night … plus delicious breakfast included… highly recommend
- themactavish (10/5): Great Staff & Location - The folks at the Pequot Hotel go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. They tracked my wife and me down while cycling around the island to let us know that the ferry would likely be canceled the next day, so if we wished to leave early, they'd refund our last night's stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The continental breakfast was great. The home-baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoons was a nice touch. The hotel is quaint and located in a pleasant, quiet, convenient spot. Overall, the place and the people were wonderful.
- Marilyn (10/5): - Amazing place to stay, very friendly staff, great location. Had an amazing stay and met a lot of great people. Mimosas on Sundays, and don't forget to get the cookies in the evening.
- Hyunsu (10/5): - My fiance and I stayed at the Pequot in late September. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend it to anyone. Great service, great staff, and great location! The staff also went out of their way to alert us about potential ferry cancellations which really helped us with our departure plans.
- arthur (10/5): - No
- Eugene (4/5): - There was no table or desk in the room. Even the YMCA has a desk in the room. There was room for one. When inquired at the desk the surley attendant was dismissing me. I am 78 years old and I was given a room on the second floor. Getting my luggage up and down with very steep stairs was challenging. No assistance was available.
- Barry (10/5): - The hotel is so clean and well manicured. The room is very nicely themed. The lady at check in was so nice and said we could check in early if needed.
- Rachel (8/5): - Was exactly as expected. Enjoyable stay walkable to oak bluff dining and shopping. Would stay again
- Ann (10/5): - Easily walkable to all the shops. Superior staff
- Margaret (8/5): - Everything was perfect
- Samuel (10/5): - Fabulous breakfast arrays, walking tour and music event on site, delightful lobby amenities. Great hotel!!
- Steven (8/5): - Good location to town center and ferry
- R1200HSlisal (10/5): We love this place so much! - We just returned home from another great stay at the Pequot! The hotel has so much to offer, you'll want for nothing. Lisa and team work so hard, are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and have everything you could need. The breakfast is always amazing, as is the Friday porch party. If you're thinking of booking, just do it! I'm already looking forward to next September!
- Jenny (10/5): - Beautiful place with nice garden, porch and community room. Liked the porch party, got there late for Sunday morning mimosa. Very close to beach and downtown.
- maria (10/5): - Nice place to stay. Feels like home. Breakfast was great. Very friendly.
- 293johnathant (10/5): Unforgettable - In September, I had the pleasure of visiting Martha’s Vineyard and staying at the Pequot Hotel. Prior to my trip, I spoke with Lisa Allen, and from the very beginning, she and the staff were warm, professional, and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles and friendly attitudes, with the team readily offering assistance from unloading our luggage to helping us get settled into our room.
I was traveling with four seniors, some with disabilities, and the staff, along with the transportation company, went above and beyond to ensure our visit was smooth and enjoyable. We also celebrated a very special birthday during our stay, and the hotel kindly assisted us with arranging a cake and making sure the celebration for my friend’s 89th birthday was truly unforgettable.
The rooms were spotless, the breakfast each morning was delicious, and one of my favorite moments was simply sitting on the porch. I wish I had another day just to relax there swinging, chatting with passersby, and being entertained by the wonderful staff.
This was more than just a hotel stay; it was a memorable experience filled with kindness and genuine care. I highly recommend the Pequot Hotel to anyone visiting Martha’s Vineyard.
- Gertrudes (10/5): - Great location. Close to the beach & the center of town. Very clean & quiet!
- Kerri (8/5): - Convenient, close to the beach and circuit ave. Staff were so friendly, we arrived early and were able to check in which was so nice! Continental breakfast was great, afternoon cookies was a nice choice. We would definitely stay there again!
- sherrybF3607EY (10/5): Paradise at the Pequot! - The Pequot Hotel is a treasure! The rooms are quaint and clean. The staff is friendly and very helpful. There is a complimentary breakfast for guests (which includes
waffles). There is a wonderful mixture of friendly guests who chat during breakfast or
on the porch (in the rocking chairs). There is a delightful "porch swing" and some inviting entertainment from local artists. A wonderful place. Please go and let Lisa,
Cloe (and her daughter), Jill and the other amazing staff members offer you maximum
comfort via their wonderful, warm reception! A gem!
- sifundo (6/5): - good
- Y4440TNjuliew (10/5): Night away on the Vineyard - Amazing spot. Great location, and great cookies and breakfast. And the grounds are just beautiful. I have stayed here before and will stay again.
- William (10/5): - Would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Plan on returning in the future.
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating.
- Christopher (10/5): - A "Hidden Gem". Wonderful easy stay. We highly recommend
- Peg (10/5): - Everyone here is so friendly & helpful!
- Kelly (10/5): Amazing stay - The hotel was beautiful. The staff was so helpful. Guided us on what to do and upgraded us to a nicer room. Will definitely be back .
- Jennifer (10/5): - We had a wonderful time at the Pequot Hotel.
- 143_Claudia_M_11_153 (10/5): Annual family trip to MV - The hotel is near a calm beach in oakbluffs. Rooms are slightly dated small but comfortable and roomy. I did notice a stain on the toilet side, which must have been missed by the cleaning staff. Breakfast was just the right amount and good. Location is perfect, walking distance to restaurants, ferry, bus and beach.
Staff gets the most points as being really friendly and so helpful.
We had checked out but were allowed to leave our luggage for the day, take beach towels and chairs to the beach gor the day, return later, take a nice shower with fresh towels, soap and shampoo. This made our stay exceptional. Thank you.
Will certainly stay here again.
- seema (10/5): - Everything was perfect.
- Holly (10/5): - Had such a lovely stay! Great location and porch!
- Linda (10/5): Lovely - The place was wonderful, quiet clean friendly. Walking distance to everything. Staff was awesome.
- Inna (10/5): - Amazing location a few steps from the beach, couple blocks from the Main Street with shops and restaurants, bus stop nearby with buses to take you to other parts of the island (free busses for the summer) and very close to cottages to explore. Breakfast is great, with healthy options and fresh fruits. The staff is terrific! Lisa at the front desk was understanding and wonderful! Will definitely stay there again.
- Airstrip1 (10/5): First things first.... - First things first....when going to Martha's Vineyard, you first need to decide Edgartown or Oak Bluffs, the former higher end luxury with not much to do in the evenings with the latter more of a traditional island less luxury/higher energy experience, and we've done and enjoyed both.
The Peguot Hotel is well located (we walked to the beach each evening which Edgartown really doesn't have) and well staffed and they do a nice job of creating an experience. One night there was live music with free wine and cheeses which was fun and one morning during breakfast (which was good) they had mimosas. The porch is a great way to meet people and just veg.
The rooms are nice and well appointed (we got a double queen suite) but they are old and ours had more of a cabin feel, especially the bathrooms which while clean was in need of an upgrade. I don't blame the hotel but we where in season and paid over $600 a night which is too much for this property but so is over $1,500 a night for some of the choices in Edgartown. So if you go into this in season pricing and expecting Edgartown luxury, you may be disappointed with quality of room for the price.
But if you understand the choice/expectation difference between the Edgartown/Oak Bluffs experience, you will enjoy the uniqueness of this property.
- Inna (10/5): - I liked a lot the location, the cleanliness, the breakfast selection and the staff. Centrally located. Walking distance to the beach (a few steps away), main street in downtown area with shops and restaurants (a block), bus stop in Ocean Park to catch a bus to the other parts of the island or the airport. The rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. I felt I had an experience to stay in one of the cottages. Healthy choices for breakfast and big variety. Lisa Allen at the front desk was very helpful. I enjoyed my stay and will book it again.
- irishbaileys (10/5): Best B&B and unbeatable location - Best B&B experience and unbeatable location!
ChatGPT made the recommendation and wow!
Right next to all the cute houses and the ocean, we enjoyed the stay (great breakfast! Monday wine, cheese and live music). Morning mimosas is nice too. Pequot hotel knows exactly how to get guests hooked and plan for another visit.
- Judd (10/5): - The Pequot was a perfect place to stay in Oak Bluffs, close to the beach and shopping, restaurants, tourist spots. Yet, it was tucked away on a quiet street full of cute gingerbread style homes. The hotel had a good size front porch to relax on and a charming lobby. The free breakfast had a nice variety and good coffee. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Made you feel very welcome. The hotel was a great place to stay for a true Vineyard experience!
- Ramiro (10/5): - Great location! Nice room. Quiet. Porch was relaxing. Afternoon homemade chocolate chip cookies were good. Nice breakfast - make your own waffles were good.
- Brad145 (10/5): A Great Place to Stay in Oak Bluffs - My wife and I stayed here for four nights. Pequot is a simple historic hotel with modern amenities. It is in a quiet neighborhood within a short walk to the ocean and the main Oak Bluffs shopping area and there is free on-street parking right in front of the hotel. Breakfast, with a wide variety of options, is included. They served mimosas for breakfast one morning and had live entertainment in the lobby one evening. Plus they offered wine during happy hour and cookies in the lobby. The best part was the very friendly staff. Finally, this hotel is offered at a reasonable price versus other Martha's Vineyard hotels. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay when you are in Martha's Vineyard. We will go back to this hotel again.
- Daniel (10/5): - This is an amazing property. It is my second stay there… The staff are just lovely. The room was very quiet and had everything we needed. They do provide beach towels and beach chairs complementary should you need them. They do not have a place to store your luggage. Should you arrive early or depart late. They keep it in the lobby and it is definitely watched by the staff for your security.
This hotel is a short walk to Oak Bluff, shopping and restaurants and steps to the beach
I will be back and I highly recommend it!
- Kevin A (10/5): - The hotel was immaculate and staff was amazing, super friendly and very professional.
- Iraiza (10/5): - Everything was great! Staff is very helpful, cordial and always with a big smile, breakfast was delicious, hotel was clean and with comfortable bed/pillows! Front porch with rocking chairs is very inviting for a relaxing after beach afternoon and can enjoy the breeze while reading a book ir sipping some wine!! We will go back for sure! Love this little gem! Thank you
Iraiza and Dave
- Dipika (8/5): - Decent hotel . Nice stay !
- TheItineraryOfLife (10/5): Family vacation over Memorial Day weekend - We had a wonderful time at the Pequot Hotel! We stayed in the apartment with 4 adults and had plenty of space to visit and entertain. The small porch on the apartment we sat at each morning for breakfast. We enjoyed sitting and meeting new friends in the courtyard at night. There was a music, wine, and cheese night which we found relaxing and enjoyable! The hotel is a short walk (or drive) to the Inkwell Beach. The hotel even had beach chairs and towels to use (which was great for us since we flew on to the island). Overall, we are excited to visit Martha’s Vineyard again and we would definitely stay at the Pequot Hotel!
- Meghan (10/5): - Everything was great! We stayed “off season” in mid-May and were able to check in very early. Staff was great and the bed and pillows were beyond comfortable!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - This was our last stay on our vacation before heading home to CA. This hotel was the perfect ending! The room is TINY, but you have everything you need and the bed is very comfy. The staff is very kind. Cute dining area, lobby and patio. They also offered a walking tour one afternoon which was great! And, we had a happy hour another night with live music. Could not have been any better, especially given the fair price for the room. We highly recommend The Picquot!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect place to stay. - Great location, staff were very helpful. Gave us a map of all the shops and restaurants to go.
- Karen (10/5): - Love the location and the ‘quaintness’ of the hotel, the breakfast is good, the people there are SO NICE!
My room had carpeting so that was just a little musty smelling, but after I open the windows, everything was fine
- Jeanine (10/5): - Loved the room with a balcony outdoors. Spent the afternoon soaking up the sun and fresh air. The cheese, fruit, wine and music was a nice touch for the early evening hours. The location is walkable to the ferry, dining and shopping. Overall, a great stay.
- Sukhyun (10/5): - first time visiting mv and stayed in rm 41. small but cozy room. hotel is near everywhere in oak bluff. enjoyed free breakfast, complimentary walking tour and cheese and wine after. short walk to the beach to view sunrise and sunset. a was loud but luckily weather was cool enough not to use it during our stay in May.
- Dana (10/5): - We liked everything about it. Especially Rebekah and the whole staff. Jill heiped us set up our stay.
- Cameron (10/5): - Very nice (Borat voice)
- l_oniep (10/5): Family vibe and warm welcome! - It was the best stay of my 2-week travel in Massachusetts! I really enjoyed the hotel itself, but even more the family vibe and the friendly staff. I felt very welcomed. The hotel offered a complimentary historical tour of the town on the day I arrived; it was super interesting and the best way to meet other guests. I was upgraded upon arrival to the apartment, which was AWESOME. It was cool to have a fully equipped kitchen and a living room for myself. There was three bedrooms in the apartment. The continental breakfast was also the best I had with lots of choices, fresh fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, etc. And of course, it was really nice having free cookies and tea in the afternoon in the lobby or on the veranda. The Pequot was the perfect starting point to visit Oak Bluffs, being just a 5 to 10 minutes walk to everything. Pequot Avenue is also a nice street to walk, leading to the beach. Thank you to the team, and I hope I'll be back one day. It really was a home away from home.
- william (10/5): - The best staff
- Tommy (8/5): - Great but needs soundproofing
- Yiu Miing (6/5): - Good location - walking distance to restaurants and beach. The room is fine except for the shower stall. Taking a shower required you to be very nimble to rinse yourself of soap. The shower head/spray is intentionally fixed toward the inner corner of the stall so water would not be sprayed toward the shower curtain thus leading to water puddle on the bathroom floor.
- Z4680RRlisal (10/5): Can't wait until next year! - I've been visiting The Pequot annually since 2011 and it only gets better and better every year. The accommodations are spot on, you're never in need of anything! Every room type and building is fantastic, comfort all around. They literally think of everything from beach chairs, to beach umbrellas, you're never in need of anything. The porch parties are great, breakfast is amazing. Every year we leave already looking forward to the next. Lisa and her team truly can't be beat! As always, we'll see you in September!
- Joseph (8/5): - Friendly
- Paul (6/5): - It's a very nice quant motel close to all amenities.
- Michael (8/5): - Beautiful welcoming entrance. Front porch as a nice place to read and meet people. The chocolate chip cookies were well worth going off my diet for!!!
- Kathy (10/5): - This was a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Perfect location on and venue. Loved our stay!
- Lynne (10/5): Convenient place to stay - Very nice hotel- very convenient to the ferry’s and everything Oak Bluffs has to offer. Breakfast was very good.
- cleanface (10/5): I love the Pequot Hotel! - Me and Girlfriend stayed at the Pequot Hotel from June 11-18 and I must say it was a great experience! ( This was our first trip to Martha's Vineyard! ) I stayed in Room 20.
Free breakfast, free postcards, Great live entertainment! Fresh daily made cookies; they were so delicious!
The Beach is less than a block away and Circuit Ave. is two blocks away.
The staff were super friendly and very helpful.
The room was very clean; the bed was very comfortable. The room was a bit dated, but doable.
The only was missing from that room was a refrigerator. We would come back from the restaurants with leftovers in hand and had nowhere to refrigerate them. So a lot of the food went to waste. All rooms at the Pequot Hotel should and must have refrigerators in every room! Plain and simple. Not just in a hand full of rooms.
I definitely will be back next year! Pequot Hotel put refrigerators in every single room in your Hotel!
You definitely will get your money's worth staying at the Pequot Hotel!
- ANNES (10/5): - Amazing stay. The staff was so pleasant!!
- Vincent (10/5): - Well maintained, the staff was kind and courteous
- Z7324DDdanielak (10/5): Great homy hotel - Great experience, very cute and pleasant hotel, homy atmosphere. Comfortable bed, nice breakfast, free coffee and cookies in the afternoon, you can chill in the swing in the porch... lovely hotel!! Will definitely come back next summer!!
- Lydia (8/5): Cute neighborhood - Lovely porch and kitchen and sitting areas
- Mohammed Hasan (10/5): - Beautiful quaint building
- albert c (6/5): - Although it’s Beachtown rooms were a little damp on the floor
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff and service. Nice Continental breakfast. Clean cozy room. Walking distance to Inkwell and Circuit Ave. No issues at all.
- Colin (10/5): - Great location within walking distance to downtown area restaurants and shops, and beach
- Tanya (10/5): - Simple, clean and convenient. Great place from which to explore the rest of the island.
- Robert (4/5): - So the front desk people didn’t do me any favors. They put me on the thrid floor no elevators with two bad knees as I stated to them before. But the staff who made the breakfast was very nice and amazing. A lot of bugs and the room was extremely small for my tasting
- John (10/5): - The hotel is quaint, charming and a perfect location on the more relaxed/laid back part of the vineyard. There's a ton of restaurants, shops and water-front bars in walking distance and it's just one block from the best beach! The rooms are tiny, but comfy to sleep in. The hospitality is unparalleled, we can't wait to be back!
- Toni (10/5): - Loved it.
- Jane (8/5): - Friendly, convenient property
- Suzanne (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay in Oak Bluffs.
- Keeley (10/5): - Lovely setting, great expanded continental breakfast & cookies, and professional, personable staff.
- Polina (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay! Staff at the reception is amazing!
- Carlos Adolfo (10/5): - Well, my experience at the Pequot hotel was great, from the deck to the people who work there. Apart from that, the place is beautiful, flowers everywhere, easy parking, and super clean, the rooms are small, but the cable is comfortable. I think the TV is not working very well, the breakfasts are super great, very varied, they have everything, I recommend it 0
- STASHA (10/5): - .
- Michael (10/5): - Very nice but, too short of a stay
- Esteban (6/5): - I will not stay in this area of marthas v.again if i come back. Touristy/college like atmosphere....hotel is kept up...clean and looks like staff cares about hotel....a little outdated for my liking....more like an old college dorm with very noisy window style a/c...beds...etc....stay here if edgartown and other port town west are not available......the worst thing was the front office manager...she needs to retire...cranky and rude...the worst i have ever dealt with in 30 years of traveling....especially for a boutique hotel.....bi polar like is more like it...extremely nice to some and outright arrogant or condesceding to others....well...if other locations are full and you win the happy manager treatment thst day......i guess not too bad.....just remember that this is not the best part of town
....i know its hard to wrap your head around that in mathas vinyard....
- Shambo (10/5): - Very pretty, well maintained.
- rogerinretirement (10/5): Truly Loved the Pequot - Comfortable in every way. Fresh homemade cookies daily. Rocking chairs and a porch swing! Sunday morning mimosas added to the regular generous breakfast offering. Friday night saw entertainment on the porch provided by a local singer - excellent.
The staff was amazing and so helpful. The location can't be beat. Free street parking if you have a car.
Definitely worth a visit!
- James (10/5): - Excellent location to downtown and beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Beth A (10/5): - Charming place.Fun live Music and complimentary happy hour on Monday evenings.
Nice Staff.
Close to beach and town and public Transportation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great access to beach, restaurants, and shops - Pequot Hotel was clean and great location (a block away from beach, several blocks from main street with restaurants and shops). The room we stayed (Middle Queen Room) was so tiny. It just enough to put the queen bed in. No fridge or microwave.
- Elitsa (10/5): - Beatiful hotel with a fantastic staff and close to all main attracktions in Oak Bluffs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay - Location is perfect - a quick stroll to the main street and the beach in Oak Bluffs. Beautiful property surrounded in flowers and friendly staff. We enjoyed the daily breakfast and freshly baked cookies! One downside was there was no mini fridge in the room, but they did have an ice machine.
- Carlos Eduardo (10/5): - Very. Good
- John (8/5): - Pleasant but walls and floors are thin and neighbors can be noisy. Good service. The place is cute and breakfast is good.
- Anthony (10/5): - Everything was great!
- Ireneusz (8/5): - Small room, no closet or mini fridge
- ChristelLux (10/5): Cute hotel - Cute and super friendly hotel. Nicely situated in Oak bluffs and easy walking distance to main attractions m/ shops, restaurants in Oaks bluffs.
Simple style with simple breakfast but with gluten free options which was much appreciated.
Cookies out in the afternoon and complimentary tea and coffee all day.
Great place to stay in Oak bluffs.
- Kevin (10/5): - Excellent location and warm and friendly spot.
