- Mary (10/5): - We felt welcomed by Paul from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious and clean. The inn is a beautifully restored Victorian. The breakfast each morning was delicious. The hotel is an easy walk to the waterfront in Inverness, so dining options are plentiful. I would definitely stay here again!
- Gary (10/5): Excellent place to stay! - Our stay was excellent. We were treated first class and the breakfast was delicious each morning. All the staff were very friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is within walking distance or a very short cab ride to some excellent restaurants and pubs with live music.

We had breakfast both days and enjoyed both the food and service. We left both days well fed. The host Paul was very welcoming and could give advice about what to do during our stay. We had two good nights sleep, and would recommend anyone to make a visit. The house is located about 25min from the station on foot, but you can hop on a bus that stops very near the house.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of choice and exceptional poached eggs! The house had a very peaceful serene feeling to it and was really relaxing. Paul and Tony were so friendly and very helpful. We would most definitely stay there again.

The Tartan Room had a very comfortable bed and ample pillows and covers. Nicely appointed bathroom, lots of hot water and fluffy towels. Very accommodating to booking our taxis for us and early morning departures. Highly recommended!!

While our host was friendly and helpful, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype from previous guests of the previous owners. Housekeeping aggressively knocked on our door our first morning (we were still sleeping as we were a bit jet lagged) despite there being a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door. The next day she was also aggressively banging and grumpy at the exact time of check out. The lack of any evening snack/drink was a bit disappointing as you’re not super close to anything later in the evening. We found the room beautiful and the bathroom fantastic. Breakfast was good and we love to walk so we’re happy to walk the 20-30 minutes into the main town.

The breakfast was delicious and an accommodation was readily made for my friend who preferred her scrambled eggs be made without butter. If I'm ever lucky enough to visit Inverness again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there. Oh, and the grounds are LOVELY!

As Americans, we didn't have cell service and Paul gladly called a cab for us multiple times during our stay! Property is just minutes from the town center. Breakfast was wonderful. We stayed 3 nights. Just a beautiful and safe accommodation. Will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Inverness!!

Breakfasts were delish! Even tried the haggis (tasted better than sausage)! Gardens outside were loaded with birds so having the window open was pleasant.

The ceiling on one side of the room sloped and I found myself hitting it a few times, but otherwise no complaints. Breakfast was excellent. My stay here was short, so I didn't have time to explore the area. I did find a grocery store within walking distance.

Breakfast was good with lots of choices and service was certainly up to standard. This is the first season for the new owners and they are still finding their feet in this location. But overall a good choice and we were happy with it

Front door said no vacancies, yet we were the only ones who stayed the night. ODD feeling, kinda creepy actually. I wanted to move to a hotel. There was a towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door from previous tenant. We did not sleep very well with the uneasy feeling.
- Artsaleskara (4/5): Ownership Changed before we arrived. - My family and I stayed here for a week in mid October. Paul, the new owners son was great and friendly, but that’s where the warmth ends. The room was cramped and the beds were horrendously uncomfortable. One is if usually ended up sleeping on the floor every night. The double bed for the adults was so short that my husbands feet hung over and in between the metal bars. After reading such good reviews I was excited to stay here. But the new hostess felt cold and unwelcoming. The area is nice and quiet which we liked, but if you prefer to be close to things to do this is not the place.

Our tours were canceled last minute. We hired Bob to drive us for two days. His rate was very reasonable and he was delightful company, accommodating and suggested great places to see in the area. HIGHLY recommend Trafford Bank Guest House!

Real flair and care has gone into every detail. It felt like staying in a much cherished and loved home, which indeed it is. Our room ,the Trafford Suite, was the largest with king size bed and lots of luxury extras like for example, DVD player and expresso maker It was very comfortable The well equipped and spacious bathroom had a shower AND a roll top Victorian bath. We felt we could really relax here over our two night stay. Breakfast was simply excellent, and was served in the bright and airy conservatory, which looked out onto a well tended garden where you could sit out. ..Blissful

- Shreeniwas Venkatesan (10/5): Charming Guest House! - Lorraine, who owns the B&B, is an amazing host. The rooms are maintained (and decorated) with lots of love and thoughtfulness. You will feel a bit pampered in the room. The room itself was very functional, and we had all the necessary amenities (and more) to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast has to be agreed upon the night before. The breakfast itself was fresh, and tasty. Lorraine also helped us with good tips for our vacation, suggesting places to go or to eat at. The only thing I would note is that the shower in the Suite room is a bit small (especially for a tall and big person like me), but there is a comfortable bathtub, if that alternative suits well. All in all, it is a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This BnB was exactly what we were looking for! Quaint, charming, perfect breakfast and amazing location. The only issue we had was the Wifi, which was non existent in our room. You’re allowed to use the lounge where the service is much better, but it did become troublesome at times. Overall, this was an amazing stay and made our trip so much better. We would definitely come back!

The lovely old house is full of interesting pieces of art and objects and is located a short walk from the Caledonian canal and walkable from the riverside and town centre. Our room had a large en suite and the house is in a quiet location and we slept well.

- Mountain_on_the_road (10/5): Cosy Guest House to explore the Highlands - We enjoyed every minute of our 3 night stay, from the charming room and hotel interior, to the hearty breakfasks overlooking the really nice garden. Lorraine was very helpful and hospitable thorought our stay. We didn’t bring a car but we found it really easy to walk to the train station each day to explore nearby national parks. Inverness is a great base and the Trafford Bank Guest House has to be the most charming place in Inverness to have as your base.
- YM (10/5): - We had a fantastic experience at the Trafford Bank Guest House. The hospitality was great. We felt warm and welcomed, while also feeling safe with the robust measures in place to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. Both our room and the communal areas were clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast that we had was amazing. We would definately consider staying here again when we visit Inverness.
- Kismaci (10/5): A Fairytale Place! - This place and the owner Lorraine will take your breath away. The house is so beautiful, the location is just perfect either if you want to see Inverness or take a walk near the Caledonian Canal or see Loch Ness or look around in the Highlands. The house is absolutely stunning, our room was very comfortable, the breakfast is really great with locally sourced products - delicious haggis! Lorraine is so kind and you can tell that she is doing everything for her guests, has great tips for your trip. Book. Don't hesitate, she has only five rooms. You won't be disappointed, we LOVE this place! We even got a chance to meet Troy, Lorraine's adorable doggy! :)

Lorraine is really nice, helpful hostess. She can give you very good tips where to go and what to do in Highland. This is a perfect base for you. Nice quiet street but you can even walk to the city centre. We most definitely will go back!

This Guesthose isn’t far from the city centre & all of the lovely restaurants the city has to offer. Lorraine is very friendly & helpful. Lorraine’s Guesthose has everything you need, from a mini fridge to a decanter of lush sherry! The beds are extra comfortable as are the sheets & housecoats too! Great place to stay & the decor is amazing!
- GreenerNY (10/5): A real Scottish embrace - Unexpectedly, I had to spend almost 2 weeks in Inverness, and I had the good luck to find shelter with Lorraine at Trafford Bank. Every corner of Trafford house is lovely. And I found such care in every corner, from Lorraine's stunning breakfasts, to the way she anticipated my every need, to the little local joys everywhere the eye can see. I stayed in several rooms, since I was such a last minute booking, and that means I can tell you with surety that each room has its own character ...and a great bed, with super modern bathrooms and sweet armchairs when you just want to dose off in the afternoon. I love how she pulls the theme of each room through, and all of the little luxuries, from the decanter of sherry, to the individually wrapped biscuits, to the little metal box of chargers and whatever else you may have forgotten to pack. I particularly enjoyed the cosy Tartan and Floral rooms. Trafford Bank Guest House is also a warm embrace of local artisans, down to the Harris tweed bread baskets. It's a wonderful place to settle in as you explore Inverness. And Lorraine will be happy to point you to places to explore, great local shopping, or restaurants to suit your mood. With any luck, you'll be there for a lovely vacation. But if—like me—you have a bit of a family emergency while in Inverness, Lorraine will quickly became more than just your host. Either way, you'll find Trafford Bank a lovely respite, and cosy home base at the end of every day.
- suestringer74 (10/5): Stunning - We have just stayed at the lovely guest house - Trafford Bank in Inverness. It is located in a central location which means you can be in the centre of Inverness within a 15 min walk. Within a 2 mile drive, you are on the banks of Loch Ness. Only a short 5 minute walk you are on the banks of the canal where you get stunning sunsets. There are so many lovely restaurants to eat out locally, all within walking distance. Trafford Bank itself, is set in it's own grounds so offers secure parking and a place to relax in the mature gardens. The rooms are amazingly decorated and very spacious giving you an ideal place to relax and unwind. The rooms are extremely well equipped and you are short of nothing. We even had a mini fridge in our room so we could keep some chilled snacks and drinks in there. The rooms also have plenty of technology; a large TV and DVD player, bluetooth speakers so you can play music. In our room, it was a Bose speaker so good quality. We also had an all singing all dancing radio system. We had a Nespresso coffee maker along with a kettle and facilities to make cups of instant tea and coffee. There was a gorgeous decanter and two crystal glasses which contained sherry - such a sweet touch. Lorraine is a superb host and nothing is too much trouble. Upon arrival, she welcomes you with open arms and is very informative. She gives you a tour of the guest house, explains where everything is. Lorrain offers an array of items on the menu for breakfast. The food is delicious and is excellently presented and always with a smile on her face. Anyone wanting to come for a stay in Scotland, Trafford Bank is an absolute must as your base.
- pauloregon (10/5): What to do when the room is so comfortable that you really don't want to go explore? - My wife and I started a 10 day Scotland trip with a 3 night stay at the Trafford Bank Guest House. Lorraine, the owner and host, really knows what a traveler needs to feel at home and comfortable. We arrived after dark but had no issues finding the Guest House, even after flying many hours from the West Coast of the US, driving on the left, etc. The Thistle room was immediately cozy with a lovely bathroom and attention to detail such upscale fixtures, artwork and little things like a "plug strip" so we could charge all of our devices. Every morning we had to set our alarm to get us out of the comfortable bed otherwise we would have been perfectly happy to read and relax in the room all day. The Guest House is in a great location, about 18-20 minute stroll into downtown Inverness where we had a range of restaurants to choose from. Lorraine's breakfasts were delicious and quite satisfying with local specialties such as (my favorite) scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Good coffee, excellent breads and fruit. English breakfast. So many options. The House itself if perfectly maintained and contains a number of interesting art pieces, paintings and furniture that Lorraine is happy to tell you about. It was hard to leave after our stay, but we hope to be back again soon to explore more of Scotland.

The owner was extremely kind and let us check in a bit earlier, so we could leave our car and walk into town to start our christmas shopping. The “Floral” suite was very clean with some nice touches. The owner even left us some scottish sherry and shortbread. The guest house is very quiet and was on a quiet street which helped with a good nights sleep. The parking was plentiful and off road, right next to the house. The walk into town was very easy, only took about 10/15 mins. Our breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and very well cooked. The only small negative would be the shower in that particular room was not very powerful. Apart from that, absolutely nothing to complain about.
- O7576EFnh (10/5): Fantastic - I've been staying away for the last 7 years. Many places have past me by. Few stay as a permanent memory. Trafford Bank will stay. It is wonderful. Everywhere you look has a 'womens' touch, a touch with an eye to ambience, tranquility and relaxing. Quality ouses from this guest house. A stylish, boutique, romantic guest house. Very easy walking distance into the town centre (10~15 minutes) I've not added photos, as those listed are bang on. Yes.. It is as good as the photos. I've (luckily) been three times now.. I forgot to mention the Nespresso coffee machine in the bedroom.. A touch of class, lovely coffee too. Inverness is smashing too. I do not hesitate to recommend, and commend Lorraine on a super guest house. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property was very well-located. The Trafford Bank House was very nicely decorated with many wonderful touches. The grounds were beautifully designed and inviting. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. The room was spacious and comfortable as was the bath. All in all a real gem, lovingly cared for.
- Jozsef (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful two night stay. Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Location was a quick 15 - 20 minute walk, or $5 cab ride, from the main area of Inverness. Lorraine, the owner, was truly hospitable and gave us plenty of useful tips about Inverness and the surrounding area. Delightful home cooked breakfast each morning. Sad we could not stay longer.

- Serine (10/5): Perfect - What a lovely stay! Lorraine runs a beautifully decorated guest house, and sees to every detail. My room was comfortable and immaculately clean. I enjoyed all of the art and personal touches. Lorraine remembers details about each guest, which is amazing, I wish I could! She was very helpful whenever needed. Breakfast was very good and I enjoyed the Scottish Tatties and the Alessi alien coffee press. The place is out of the city center but an easy walk, and I was glad for the quiet. I highly recommend Trafford Bank Guest House.
