Guest Reviews

- Yusuf ali (10/5): Was heel blij - Vriendelijke personeel fie je elke moment wil helpen
- Malin Malinov (10/5): - The location is perfect—right in the center of Istanbul, making it easy to get around. The staff were all very kind and helpful, which made our trip even better. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it!

- Taoufik (7/5): - Passable Passable
- Jamal (1/5): Do not stay here. - DO NOT STAY HERE AT ANY PRICE.
We booked two rooms through booking.com. They were both booked as having doubled beds however one had twin singles.
The rooms were disgustingly dirty and the staff were very reluctant to help with anything.
The listing stated hairdryers were included, both were broken and ancient. When we asked for a new one they just said no. After asking 4 times over 3 days one guy finally helped us.
The bathroom was full of black mould, it had clearly never had a proper clean. I’ve included some pictures. There’s a lot more, but there’s too much to show.
The ceiling fan in the bedroom was covered in a thick layer of grease and dust.
Both rooms said that they had a balcony, they did not.
Both rooms stated that toiletries were included however one room had none at all. The dispensers for hand soap and shower gel were empty.
Both rooms have dangerous wiring, in one room the plug socket was coming out the wall.
In that same room the cable for the air conditioning has been cut and taped together in two places, huge fire risk.
Both rooms only have one plug socket and run everything including the air conditioning from one three way adapter. This meant that, if you have to use a travel adapter, you have to choose between charging your phone and using the air conditioning.
The shower bracket was broken in one room so you had to hold the shower head.
One room didn’t have a remote for the air conditioning or the tv. They did replace it in the morning when we asked. We arrived late in the evening so it did mean one of us spent the first night without air conditioning.
The general state of fixings in the hotel is poor. One room had dirty curtains and damage all over the headboard where something had been pulled off of it.
The wifi speed was okay when it was working but seemed to only work about 50% of the time.
This is a budget hotel but there is no excuse for this. I recommend everyone stay well away. DO NOT STAY HERE AT ANY PRICE.

- Paul (8/5): A good budget hotel in a great location. - The room was of a good size and was clean and comfortable, there was always hot water in the shower and staff were friendly and helpful, I think the property represents good value for money, it wasn't far from Yenikapi metro station which gives access to the comprehensive Istanbul metro and rail system. There are lots of shops and restaurants near the hotel. The Wifi wasn't very good and communication could have been better.
- Vic (7/5): Friendly staff with a little English spoken. In a flat area of Istanbul which was good. Easy walk to - Location was good for where I wanted to visit No lift too many winding narrow stairs
- Lutfurahman (1/5): ⭐ 1 Star Review – Extremely Bad Experience – Avoid Tolga Hotel I had one of the worst experiences ever at Tolga Hotel i - ⭐ 1 Star Review – Extremely Bad Experience – Avoid Tolga Hotel
I had one of the worst experiences ever at Tolga Hotel in Istanbul. We booked through Booking.com and paid the full amount in cash, as the manager requested in advance via message. Upon arrival, we immediately saw the room was very dirty, extremely small, and not as shown in the photos on Booking.com.
The bed was full of bedbugs, and the sheets were clearly not cleaned. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell, and there were insects everywhere. The toilet was extremely small, dirty, and seemed not to have been cleaned in years. It was impossible to even wash your face properly.
When I reported this to the manager, he offered another room — but it was in the same poor condition. I kindly asked for a refund, but instead of helping, the manager became aggressive, refused the refund, and even threatened me with a metal object, trying to hit me. He also shouted insults in both Turkish and English. I felt unsafe and very scared.
I called the police, but they said a translator and legal process would be needed. Since we were short on time and couldn’t afford a lawyer, we had to leave and move to another hotel.
This hotel is not safe, not clean, and should never be allowed to operate under these conditions. The bedbugs can be carried home, and they are extremely hard to get rid of. Most of the information listed on Booking.com is false or misleading.
❗ I strongly recommend avoiding Tolga Hotel. Do not trust the photos or descriptions online — the reality is completely different and dangerous. ⭐ 1 Star Review – Extremely Bad Experience – Avoid Tolga Hotel

- Oliver (9/5): Superb - Perfect location in Fatih, city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and nice room. Room was cheap, absolutely worth it for a low budget traveller.
- Sadovnikova (9/5): Superb -
- Konstantina (5/5): Passable - Good location. Close to metro station and shops .Smilly personnel. Good alternative if the price is the lowest in the area. Offers payment at the reception No elevator & steep stairs. Not comfortable for older people with bagagge. The room and the bathroom need renovation asap. One power outlet to charge phone and not good internet connection. There are hotels that offer more in the same price in the area.
- Maia (7/5): Good -
- Muhran (5/5): Passable - The location is good
And some of staff is friendly and helpful
And some of then not
The cleaning service is not good
- Esraa (8/5): Cozy and comfortable - The place is in a very lively and safe place. Everything is available around you from all big shops to local small ones. Also, it is very close to all ways of transportation and commuting from there is very easy to anywhere else. Mehmet at the reception is really a decent and very helpful man! He is efficient, available and quick upon any request. I would thank him intensively :) I can say overall everything was good and I just recommend more cleanliness and continuous pest control
- Coric (7/5): Good -

- Sulaymanov (10/5): Exceptional - Mohamed is very helpful person. He did his best. I didnot like Tolga hotel's boss communication. He has to learn how to speak with customers.
- Abdulhakim (3/5): An experience I would pay not to go through again. - The one and only thing about the place is it's location near to everything. The room was very very very small you can't possibly move around to do anything.
Too much noise wheathe from the rooms next door or from the air filtration system machine working around the clock.
It's not clean or filthy to be honest it doesn't make you comfortable.
The bathroom 🚽 is literally three steps away from the bed.
With a tiny clothing compartment.
- Mohammad (7/5): Good -
- Nazeer (9/5): Superb -
- Cristina (9/5): Superb - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they get 20/10.
- Som (5/5): The staff and the location were perfect, other than that not so good. - the location was perfect, the staff were friendly and more willing to help especially Mohamed who was all out there to help and very respectiful person. no lift, no breakfast at all, fist night we got a room on the top floor with no lift, very exhausting indeed. The cleanness of the hotel was not that good. the room so small, the toilet very old fashion and very small, didnt like it at all.
- Tousif (7/5): Good -

- Mitkova (5/5): Passable -
- Margarita (7/5): Good - The location is in a walking distance to the city centre, several metro stations and bus stops.
The stuff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us with several questions and provided hot water for tea in the morning. The family room is located on the 6th floor and it is not really comfortable for children or old people. Also the room is quite small for 4 people.
- Gian (7/5): Good - Good location. Budget value Too small room.
- Adam (5/5): Cheap stay in low quality hotel - Location in near of bus and metro stations. A lot of restaurants nearby. It is possible to go by foot to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Air conditioning was working well (in the second room, because our room was changed after the first night - it was weird as it was told us during the check-in that our current room is not the target one). The room was very dirty, in the first room smelled mould, in the second one - cigarattes. There wasn't any hanger in the bathroom and the bathroom itself was very small and looked like it was build with materials found in some graveyard.
- Nasrun (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mohannad (8/5): Very good - Friendly people
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and good price Nothing
- Omer (3/5): Small compact room in a busy area - The hotel is located in a busy area in Istanbul, suitable for tourists, but can be noisy. The Air conditioning was working, which is a must in the heat. WIFI was also working well. Dated property which has not been kept well. Very small room, but has the essentials available. No facilities to make tea/coffee. No toiletries, so I had to go and buy my own shampoo. They don't have a card reader, so they sent a message saying my card is not working and caused me to panic. When I arrived, they jokingly said that they don't take card anyway, but that stunt was to see if I was coming or not(!)
- Aurel (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing Not clean,
- Rnatwest (1/5): Bad -
- Rnatwest (1/5): I wouldn’t recommend it - Nothing Thé réception was horrible but the owner of the hotel it’s a very good person

- Nur (10/5): The stay was very smooth. anything we asked the overnight staff Mustaf would get it to us right away. He even checked on - Mustafa the overnight staff was very friendly and had contacted us before even we got to the hotel to ask anything we need before we got there. we got extra blankets and extra towels for our 4 day stay NA
- Jasim (10/5): Exceptional - yes nothing
- Halaili (8/5): Very good -
- Marwan (7/5): It was good and acceptable - The facility of transport The accommodation in the room tea or coffee frigo ..,
- Anonymous (5/5): convinient nothing exceptional - location very convenient for sightseeing very small bedroom and bathroom
- Maria (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sami̇r (10/5): Excellent budget hotel - MOHAMED the receptionist speaks Arabic, French, English and Turkish * Attentive and willing to help*
Availability at all times of the day ,
The rooms are very clean and big ,
Everything is nearby: metro, exchange offices, market, cafes, attractions ,
- Ela (10/5): Exceptional - I was in the hotel for 7 nights and all the praises. The location of the hotel is excellent, the staff is very kind and thanks to Mohammed for everything ❤️The room was cleaned every other day. The lady who keeps the rooms clean is very pleasant and lovely. The bedding is clean, which is the most important thing to me. The bed is comfortable. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but that didn't bother me either, considering the location. Metro and Marmaray across the road, which means a good and easy transfer from the airport. The area is always full of tourists, therefore, safe for an evening walk, even though I stayed alone. Generally, a recommendation for a hotel who is not looking for luxury. The value for money is excellent.
- Kateryna (10/5): Clean room,friendly staff,good location,I recommend! -
- Vugar (8/5): Value for money - I'd liked cleanliness, staff relation to guests as well as good location (close to Yenikapi metro station and Aksaray tramway station). The hotel is really worth the money paid.

- Otabek (10/5): we enjoyed the stay everything is great, value is perfect - simple clean and comfortable -
- Kian (8/5): Very good -
- Goce (7/5): Good -
- Luis (4/5): Istamboul is an incredible city, but don't push it to hard on prices. People will go away ! - The employee Mohammed that served the breakfast in the morning. Very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is poor compared to other hotels where I went in Turkey .
The room is very little and there's no space for your luggage.
The price of the room the most expensive I paid in Turkey, and I stayed in more than ten hotels in 35 days.
For example, in Ankara I stayed in a couple of hotels where the rooms were three times as big, they had a breakfast buffet and the price was less expensive.
- Ilhan (1/5): STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL HOTEL - if you’re thinking of booking this hotel because it’s cheap DON’T, it’s not even worth to stay there for free. it’s old, dirty, smells of cigarettes and mould. I felt unsafe due to the owners and one of the employees behaviour. The photos and the actual hotel are not the same. The room I was checked into was old, dirty and there was a water leak in the bathroom. I informed the receptionist (Mohamed) next morning and he apologised and promised to change rooms, which he did. After 2 days, there was another water leak in the bathroom. I called the receptionist( Turkish guy), and I was ignored. I went downstairs to speak to him and after some difficult conversation he agreed to look at the leak. He saw the leak and again I was ignored. I went downstairs to speak to him and he said it’s not a problem, it’s a little leak and there’s nothing he can do. At some point in the conversation, he said “not my problem “ . After a unproductive conversation, I received a call from the owner, he attempted to fix the leak, which he couldn’t. When I informed the owner the leak is still there, he said he doesn’t have any rooms available. I couldn’t stay and I can’t even use the toilet without water dripping on me from the above floor bathroom, it’s unhygienic, unsafe. I decided to look for another hotel in the middle of the night and feeling unsafe being a lone female travel. I managed to book another hotel and while waiting for a taxi, he informs that he has another hotel and to come back tomorrow. He told me this after I have booked and paid for another hotel for the remaining time. He was informed that he will not be refunding me if I leave. I contacted booking.com and after that the owner started texting me, I never felt was scared for my safety. I avoided going to that part of Istanbul to void running into any one from the hotel.
I wish I was able to upload more pictures and videos.
- Evelina (10/5): Exceptional - This is a lovely small hotel. Yes, it is not new and the room is quite small, but the room is very clean, a large comfortable bed with snow-white linens. The shower has excellent water pressure. breakfast is not very varied, but it is enough to not feel hungry until lunch. Very good internet. I was able to quickly upload all my numerous videos and photos. I am very grateful to the hotel staff for their friendliness and help. they helped solve the problem on the last day before departure in order to find an opportunity to get to the airport, since all the taxis refused to take me due to huge traffic jams. I highly recommend it to tourists who, like me, spend the whole day walking around the city and shopping and do not sit still. Nothing
- El (9/5): very good - The service was brilliant for the cost, the Algerian receptionist was excellent and very helpful when on duty & speaks various languages.
- Igor (7/5): Good -
- Brice (5/5): Passable - Air cooling Breakfast really minimal
- Alisher (7/5): Good -
- Abdulkader (7/5): Good -
