- Elle (7/5): - When we arrived we waited 29 minutes to check in before the gentleman came to the desk. The people before us were waiting even longer. They gave us a free “upgrade” to the separated cottage but we did not ask for an upgrade nor were we asked if we wanted it - we were just told we had a different room. We asked to switch back in the end as we wanted the original room which was cozier and what we booked - we did not need a 3 BR cottage and did not ask for it either. It was nice of them to give us an option, had we been given an option versus just told we were not getting our booked room.

No breakfast. All in all not worth the price we paid, even the view was a small side view

- Kathleen (10/5): Loved it! We'll come back. - Perfect location across from sea wall. Warm and welcoming staff. We got up to watch the sunrise and John was there to make us fresh pots of coffee. Can't beat sitting on front porch with a bottle of prosecco and watching the waves come in during the storm! Comfortable bed and room was very clean. Walked into town to get sandwiches to enjoy lunch on the porch. Relaxed vibe... we will come back!

We had 2 rooms. 1 was perfectly clean and furnished. The other was still very nice but had a bunch of stains in the rug and an awkwardly designed bathroom

- PAUL (8/5): Brief Overnight Stay - The room was quiet and very clean and comfortable. There was no fan in the bathroom which made warm showers fog up the mirror in the bathroom for a longer period of time. The heating/AC unit had a bright blue light that literally lit up the room at night, not healthy for sleeping. The hotel itself was remarkable in that there was an elevator incorporated into this old beachfront house with lots of rooms. There was a good-sized parking lot in the back making it really easy to take bags and belongings into the room. Very precarious exit from the side street onto the main street in front of the hotel. Trying to clear your view of traffic from the left literally puts you in the middle of the street - scary! Very easy travel distance to Kennebunkport. Overall really enjoyed the brief stay and would definitely return.

We loved the coffee bar available all day. We also appreciated the convenience of free use of beach towels, beach chairs, and bikes. The room was well decorated and comfortable. The bathroom could use more shelf space, but was fine. The star of the show is the view from the porch where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. The seating area in the lobby is stunning with beautiful views of the ocean as well. One of our Favorite Beach Stays ever! Highly recommend The Beach House Inn!

- Luanne (10/5): Great spot in Kennebunk - The Beach House Inn is a lovely place to stay. Our host Cynthia was extremely friendly and helped us get oriented to the area with a map and suggested spots for shopping and dining. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with quality furnishings, linens and toiletries. They have bikes and beach chairs for their guests and rocking chairs for relaxing on the front porch overlooking the beach across the street. We will stay here again on our journeys up the coast.

- Christopher (9/5): We had a nice one night stay during a one week coastal Maine tour starting in Bar Harbor. - Location, location, location, water/beach right across the not so busy two lane street in front , free to use bikes and beach chairs, historic front lobby, the staff member John could not have been any nicer and more knowledgeable about the property. Very nice gift shop in the front lobby. No breakfast included or available but there is a nice selection of hot coffees and teas. Nothing we really didn’t like. The rooms are not historic for those looking for that but have some vintage furniture. There are quite a few rooms so that is hotel like in feel once past the historic front area of the property.

- alison (10/5): Family beach weekend - We stayed at the Beach House for a 3 day weekend in August. Very easy check in. I was concerned that we would not make the 830PM deadline for check in but the manager emailed earlier in the week and alleviated my concerns. Absolutely fabulous location for a number of Maine beaches. We prefer Goose Rocks Beach. The inn has beach towels, beach chairs and even bikes that are easy to grab and go. Also very close to Dock Square in the port. My favorite part was morning coffee on the deck in the morning. I am a coffee snob and generally don't like hotel lobby caffeine beverages. The coffee was fresh and delicious! Tea and hot chocolate are also available. Though I didn't notice this until the last day, there are beverages that you can purchase for happy hour or other times during the day. There is a charming gift shop, which is just as quaint as the inn itself. Our room was clean with plenty of towels (2 pp) and amenities. Slightly crammed but adequate. The AC worked great for a 4th floor room. We did not receive room cleaning one day. We had been at the beach and returned by 2pm and the room was not cleaned yet. At 3:30, the staff came around but it was not convenient. They did swap out the dirty towels. Perhaps having the tag on the door indicate "do not disturb" on one side and "please clean" or something similar on the other side. We will definitely stay again. Very reasonable for a mid-summer quick getaway to the beach!
