Jhbrickner (2/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - DO NOT PATRONIZE A COMPANY THAT STEALS FROM ITS CUSTOMERS. This hotel stole $1500 from me. I booked a room form my son for a three week stay. After booking, I was informed that there would be a $100 deposit required at check-in. Because my son did not have the cash, he was told he could not check in. The hotel refused to refund my money, citing "policy". So their company policy is to take money and not provide a hotel room.
Kalia577 (6/5): Okay experience - Stayed here for the first time recently and overall, wasn't too impressed! The biggest advantage of this hotel is having a huge shopping mall within a walking distance with a private entrance. Mall has everything including a grocery store and foot court. The main Hotel Zone is also within a reasonable driving distance. Hotel asked for $100 or equivalent in Pesos and in cash. Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere when booking. Checking into my room, I found multiple long hair on the bed sheet. AC was not working so had to call somebody to have it started. Room had microwave and fridge which is always great to have. Room also had a coffee maker but there was no coffee! Every hotel, even the cheap ones, when coffee maker is provided, always provide at least one sachet of caffeine and decaffeine coffee. I guess not this hotel. There is no point of providing coffee maker without any coffee and I think they should take it out from the rooms. It was cold during my stay here. I tried to run the heater but it was not running. I went to the front desk and was told they don't have any heater in the whole hotel as the cold weather is unusual for Cancun. While I can understand the odd weather, I didn't understand of not being prepared for such odds! Specially this is a huge hotel, not cheap, and it does charge decent amount. I had to ask for extra blanket and was still cold! Another set back when I ran the hot water and it was all cold. Had to complain for it to be fixed as well. Also, room walls were thin and you can hear your neighbor if they are loud. In-person customer service was good and had no issues with it. Overall, they need to at least provide heater in all rooms. I may or may not stay here next time.
susannnes2019 (8/5): Practical and Comfortable Apartment Stay in Central Cancún with Excellent Location and Internet - Room: 401 Excellent location next to Malecón Américas, with walking distance to shopping mall, supermarkets, and restaurants. Safe and well-maintained area, suitable for solo travelers and families or business travelers. Very good internet connection in the room I stayed in (hybrid setup: fiber + coax). Spacious apartment-style rooms with kitchen facilities, well suited for longer stays. Friendly and professional reception once they get to know you. Special thanks to Daniel for a warm and efficient welcome, always smiling and helpful when checkin and checkout. More of an apartment hotel than a traditional hotel; limited hotel-style facilities, but high level of independence. Housekeeping and service are functional and discreet. No beach within walking distance; this is a city property, not a resort. Several pool, but I didn't use it. The view from the appartment was stunning. Limited social atmosphere compared to hotels in the hotel zone. Overall assessment: A reliable and practical choice in downtown Cancún for longer stays, work trips, or travelers who do not need resort facilities. Best suited for guests who prioritize location, space, and stable internet over luxury amenities. Recommended for extended stays in Cancún Centro, especially for solo travelers seeking a safe location, good logistics, and functional apartment-style accommodation.
Maranatha (8/5): - Staff was generally friendly helpful and supportive. however the cleaning crew would agree to an alt cleaning schedule and not show up. Room upon arrival looked like it had been cleaned but hadn’t been used in a while and no new cleaning prior to arrival but everything was in moderate condition. Biggest downside was the beds were hard as ROCKs and the pillows were flat and not very supportive.

However, several areas need improvement. The in-room kitchen amenities were incomplete, with chipped dishware and cookware, and one pan was rusted before being quickly replaced upon request. The oven and stove require manual ignition with matches, which is both outdated and potentially unsafe. Towel sets were also inconsistent throughout my stay, as bath mats, hand towels, and washcloths were frequently missing due to a supply shortage. Overall, this property works well for those who value location, convenience, and attentive staff, but updates to the quality and consistency of amenities would greatly enhance the guest experience.
Lissette (6/5): - The security guard on the Vancouver tower elevator ,does not have a computer to check your name is on the reservation, instead he will take a picture of your Passport with his personal phone, something that feels very odd and uncomfortable. I encourage management to take action regarding this issue , because this will keep tourists from coming back to your hotel.

This is my first time in Mexico and I did not have to take a taxi anywhere because everything is so close even a grocery store and a Walmart express And a few restaurants.

The first is that it is close to a place they call a plaza de toros and honestly you can't sleep because they have events practically every weekend, the second is so you can leave the hotel. You have to go through two doors, everything is locked , I understand security, but it is very complicated to go out and the last one that seemed a bit rude to me, was when I was already checking out from the hotel, you are returning your cards and you wonder how you are going to leave if you need a card and the receptionist tells you, well wait at the door, someone will come out and let you out, that seems very unprofessional to me! My check-out was on Monday the 7th, in the morning and I was outside waiting to see who would let me out! Also honestly at the reception that day there was a man and a woman just laughing!!

Harold (8/5): - The check in was timely but somehow I missed the deposit had to be paid in cash. I got a refund at checkout. You have to wait for your shower to warm up but the pressure will sting you. Enjoyed the pool but not many lounge chairs. Towels will not dry over night and they only clean room and change towels every other day, but you can ask and get towels. I was on 9th floor facing the city but noise was not bad. I will be going back there in the future, only short walk to the Mall and food court.

Yelena (6/5): - The hotel, while supposedly 4 stars, badly needs work and upkeep. The rooms and bed sheets smelled. The facilities, while decent in theory, could use more cleaning and attention. The room had amenities but not the things you'd need to use them. For example, there was a dishwasher but no dishwashing liquid. There were no paper towels or sufficient TP provided. There weren't enough towels. The ACs worked but one was quite old and made a loud noise. There was a gas stove range but it had no igniter (there was no lighter or matches either), so we couldn't turn it on. There were a few dishes provided, but they were visibly unclean. The staff, however, were very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, too. In general, I'd say if you're looking for a 4-star experience, skip this one.

They have a huge mall that you get a key card to go in from the hotel to mall. On this visit it was just my husband and myself. The only problem I had was the room I picked said standard and didn’t realize it didn’t come with a balcony so I had to pay more and upgrade my room. Previously I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that had a balcony. It’s a clean and nice hotel overall
Benjamin (4/5): - For a 4 star hotel, it does not live up to that standard. We had an ocean view, king size bed suite with a jacuzzi. View was very nice. Bed was spacious but was had small bits of dust, dirt, and dead flies on it when we arrived. Blinds also had dead bugs. Blinds were very effective at blocking the morning sun which was nice. Jacuzzi would blast out chunks of plastic/plaster whenever the jets were turned on so we didn’t use it. The room came with a fridge and a safe; we never received instructions on how to use the safe (despite asking over the phone and in person) and the fridge wouldn't turn on. We also asked to have the fridge fixed/get a new one, which they addressed the same day. Floor was made of large 30×30 cm tiles, which were nice and cool, but one of the tiles had a large crack in it that caused it to lift constantly when we walked on it. Overall our stay was ok, but everything was a bit dirtier than expected.

Boaz (4/5): - Front staff forced us to find an atm at 8pm to pay deposit instead of taking a credit. Seeing we are a family with kids had no impact. Only 2 elevators for 17 floor building. Only one was working. There are more inconveniences to get from parking to the lobby and then room. But will spare you. Didnt enjoy.
kristi (10/5): - Took three tries to find building. Hidden behind mall. Direction could be clearer. Balcany view of buildings and construction. Nothing in walking distance to shop except mall. Kitchen had no cookie sheet or oven supplies to cook with for ex. Fries. Chicken strips. And. Oven didn't work. One elevator for 22 floors. Took over 5 minutes at times to get to room, pool, or car levels.
Bree (2/5): - Was definitely not how the pictures presented. Very dirty and the rooms were not clean. We left and didn’t end up staying as felt uncomfortable.

Jeffrey (10/5): - When I arrived at the garage entrance, I was greeted by Daniel who was very helpful and friendly. He informed me of any excursions and he could arrange these things. I have been a guest there before and appreciate his humor and exuberance. Upon arriving upstairs at the hotel desk, I was greeted once again by Marisol who is very service oriented, friendly and competent. I enjoyed my stay and I will most definitely return in the future. I highly recommend Suites Malecon.

Christopher (6/5): - We had a King suite and it was a nice layout. The rooms are not particularly clean. But not terrible. The ceiling over the shower started to fall in from a leak and we moved rooms. Our 2nd room was really not great. For some reason it was the same but different. The mattress was terrible. It was on the 17th floor and the wind was as awful, shaking the shutters. But the 1st room we had wasn’t quiet either. There is a music club across the street that plays music incredibly loud until about 4am every night. One of the reasons we booked here was for the gym, but it was in VERY poor condition with both treadmills not working. It should not be advertised as an amenity ignore not usable!! Things that were good - staff was super nice. Very convenient entrance to the mall with a grocery store, shopping and restaurants. Not sure we would stay here again though.

Altisha (4/5): - I am going to leave a honest review, because I know the economy is stretching a lot of us thin, including the commercial industry. The property photos are not an accurate depiction of the area surrounding the hotel, or lobby/common area. The pool had dirt on bottom & needed to be vacuumed. There is a thick layer of dust over the lobby, and the pool table in the lobby, and the lobby smells like a sweaty casino. It is not fresh as you would hope from photos. I did not have a phone that worked in my room and was provided the incorrect WiFi password for my room, this was not fixed until my last night there. The attention to detail is why this hotel is somewhat uncomfortable, both hot tubs were dirty, my first room had hair in hot tub and sheets, my second room the outside had smeared dirt. The glass on the balcony looked like it was never cleaned. The remotes were dirty, I washed them, the plastic holding WiFi info dirty, the housekeeper introduction card dirty with food finger prints. The inside of the refrigerator dirty, we had a $100 meal that I threw leftovers away rather than use the smelly dirty refrigerator. The glass in shower only cleaned on outside I cleaned the inside with wet wipes & it shined. The room in general dusty &more attention to detail could have made this 5 star. The hotel is under construction so yellow tape in pool area &paint chips fall on balcony. The positive, there were no bugs in my room, I searched mattress for bed bugs and found none. Nice staff.

John (10/5): - We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with 936 sq ft which is bigger than our house in Los Angeles, USA. We paid around $106 out the door. We saved money on taxi rides because it was adjacent to the Las Americas shopping mall and has its own private card key entrance to the mall. We didn't use the kitchen because we ended up just eating at the mall or getting mall restaurant takeaway or shopping at the malls supermarket. For breakfast, the supermarket has a food court that opens early with a patisserie and coffee shop (cappuccino: 49 pesos). So, with dozens of restaurants at the mall from counter service to full service, there could be a hurricane outside and you have your choice of dozens of restaurants without getting wet. The food court at the mall had mariachis playing when we ate there on Sunday afternoon, too. The taxi driver from the airport found the hotel easily. We also re-found the entrance by asking taxi drivers and security guards. Of course, I studied Spanish for a few years in Los Angeles which makes asking for directions easier. All entrances required passing guards or key cards or both which gave me the impression of safety. Access is through a parking garage and there are several access points to the various towers. We stayed in the Vancouver tower. Some guests complained it was noisy, and perhaps they should have gone on vacation to a quieter place like the Antarctic. If you are looking for a park closeby with a trail to get away from it all, I recommend the Kabah

Darius (6/5): - This exactly what you would pay for. But it could’ve been better. The area is perfect for people that want to stay outside of the tourist zone and the hotel is perfectly safe for tourist. Those who want to still go back and do things in the tour zone. It was a 15 minute uber. The room itself is average and amenities as well. But all the reviews you were read about Daniel are all true. The man is a All-Star.
Bahman (6/5): - The staff is really bad, one of the girls upfront is extremely rude with long blonde hair, the way they talk to the clients is horrible. I witnessed four different people. And when they say, we will take care of it that they are not going to take care of it. I kept on hearing the same story from everyone, but the place has a nice space for a family or two people although it’s very basic. It’s worth the money. I don’t think I’m going back because of the front desk. The best part of the hotel was I think his name was Danielle the guy who meet you on the first floor he has been the shining star of the whole experience! You guys better give him a raise and don’t ever let him go otherwise there’s no reason to ever come back

Gillian (10/5): A really nice stay - Everyone there was super nice and very forgiving of my blatant attempts at Spanish. I really like the area it's in... not hotel row. Room was great (actuay a little chilly for me, but im always cold). The jacuzzi worked and worked well.
