Guest Reviews
- Carrie (2/5): - We ended up leaving and taking a loss rather than stay a second night. The property is clearly being used for long term stays and was not in good shape. We didn't feel especially safe due to our window not locking and several people hanging around outside.
- Michael (10/5): - The hotel is a great value and good location.
- Ray (8/5): - It was close to where I needed to be. The person at the front desk was efficient and friendly. She was ready with my room when I arrived after a long day of driving and activity. My bed was comfortable, but the towels and wash clothes were in need of replacement.
- Debbie (8/5): - They are in the process of remodeling all the rooms. The room we stayed in was remodeled, clean, and safe feeling. Very good price! Staff were very friendly and informative. Would highly recommend!
- Tina (8/5): - It was a very homey atmosphere
- Carl (8/5): - Close to the event. Reasonable price.
- Jardy (10/5): Great stay - Great affordable place will definitely stsy again
- Terri (10/5): - Very friendly, clean, park lot was very well lit,100% will stay here again
- Ashley (10/5): Awesome everything - I would definitely be bck her customer service was excellent
- Shawna (6/5): Served the purpose but wouldn’t stay again. - It was a low budget motel. The gentleman that checked me was very friendly, even though it was late he could have said hello at least. Also the pillows were so old and flat we didn’t even sleep on them. The shower didn’t move at all so you had to move around in the shower. You could tell people live or stay long periods of time here. The smell of weed and loud music was crazy.
- Jennifer (10/5): - We were pleased with the cleanliness of this motel. It's no-frills, but you can't beat the price. We will definitely stay there again.
- Risa (10/5): - Place was clean, had a fridge and microwave but no hair dryer was the only downside, which I should have expected. Price was very reasonable which is what I was looking for.
- Jared (10/5): - Reasonable pricing
- gary (10/5): - good value, nice room
- Eva (10/5): - Staff was so helpful and kind
- Dominikki (10/5): - Front desk offered the best customer service. Went above and beyond and I really appreciated it. Will definitely stay here again.
- Mark (10/5): - Great value. Nice clean and space room. Recently renovated and has fridge and microwave.
- LeslieAnn Ruairi (10/5): - There remodel was great. It was a comfortable stay. The lady checked us quickly and even opened the door when the car ate the room key. Temperature was dropping so we were able to unload. Then I found the key.
The only downside was not the hotels fault. The water just wasn't good.
- John (10/5): - Great helpful staff. They did s wonderful job on renovations
- Court (10/5): Memorable in a Good Way! - The lady was really lovely over the phone when I asked about checking in late, as we were travelling from Texas. Honestly, we loved the room. It's been recently renovated, so it still has that "new" smell to it. Breakfast was really nice! Honestly, my only gripe was the BRIGHT light outside the room that was visible, even with the curtains closed. Bring a sleep mask. You'll thank me later. Overall, would definitely stay here again!
- Cliff (10/5): - Very nice upgrades to property I recommend this place for future stay
- Companion718761 (8/5): Nice place to stay - We stayed here last weekend. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and nice!! The room was very clean and nice. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!! The air conditioner in the room worked quietly and cool!!
- Ron (10/5): - The lady that checked me in was very friendly and helpful. The room had recently been remodeled and was also very clean and comfortable. For the price and what i needed. It was perfect.
- Greg (10/5): - Good customer service
Very clean
Recently renovated
Safe
- Dennis (8/5): - Older property but kept up well. Don’t expect luxuries
- David (10/5): - I love the lady that always check me in and the easiest booking. The rooms are very clean the beds are comfortable
- Jeffry (8/5): - Newly remodeled. Good for quick pass thru stay.
- migdalia (2/5): - When I made this reservation I requested a non smoker and when we got there the room smelled like an ashtray my son is asthmatic and couldn’t sleep…terrible
- James (10/5): - Nicely updated and well kept. Very friendly.and helpful staff. Great price! Highly recommend for a budget traveler
- Robert (10/5): - pleasantly surprised great value for the money
- Susan (8/5): - Clean and pet friendly.
- Russell (8/5): - For the price. the room and bed were in Good Shape. Hospitality was Good 👍
- Chelsea (10/5): - The rooms are clean and very friendly office staff!!!
- holly (6/5): - When we arrived they had no record of our reservation through Expedia, where the hitch was im not sure. At first they said there was no room at the Inn. They changed their tune when grandpa was wheeled in, in a wheel chair. Im sure if he wasnt in one of the room they would have turned us away.
- Derrick (2/5): - Property has bed bugs and I would advised not to stay there. Owners really suck too.
- Zakariae (2/5): - a) The bed cover smelled so bad I had to remove it and put it away in a corner of the room
b) The TV was lagging
c) The wifi signal was very poor/sometimes inexistent
d) There was a water service interruption the morning of the check out
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Would stay again.
- Stephanie (6/5): - This property was fine. Clean enough and a place to sleep. Exactly what you would expect from the price. Nothing bad or gross, just an ok place, which is exactly what the price gets you.
- Christopher (10/5): - Clean, quiet reasonable price.
- Kurt (4/5): - Definitely low budget. Breakfast was advertised on Orbitz site, but nothing available. Stiff beds. Old and worn.
- Raena (2/5): - No one was there to check us in. No one answered the phone. Im honestly not even sure if this place is still in business. Would have been nice to know before driving 14 hrs there. Had to and find a different hotel that had a room available
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was good. The water was hot. The heater warmed up the room fast.
But was good we didn't have food to keep as the fridge was not cold at all. We just didn't use it.
It's a nice quiet spot, close to stores and restaurants.
Thank you. We booked online with good success.
- Maria (4/5): - Check in was fine. Sheena, the receptionist was very nice. When we got into our room, the smell was horrible! Very musty! Unable to turn on the lights, as they were unplugged! I had to move the bed to plug in the light! Upon moving the bed, the filth that was behind the bed was awful! When plugging in the light, I got shocked. The cord to the light had electrical tape on it! Unable to turn on the heat, my husband and I were freezing. Went to the office to request a room change, the receptionist didn’t know how to handle the situation! I told her the room was disgusting and the smell! Glad I had a can of air freshener with me, but didn’t do much good! Asked the receptionist to have the owners come to our room when they returned. Neil, the owner finally showed up, he took the heater apart and said someone broke the switch, which he replaced. I made sure to tell him that we did not break it, as we have been sitting there for 2 hours freezing! He never acknowledged my request for a different room! Also, not sure the last time the shower curtain was changed, as I found a dollar bill hanging on the rod! Neil gave me $5.00 back before he left. This place looks nice on the outside, but inside is a totally different story! Needs much updating! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!
- Tiffany (2/5): Don’t stay!! - Was very dirty. Smelled. The toilet Wouldn’t flush well. There was pee on the bathroom vanity and the tub was chipping and dirty. Don’t get me started on the Uncomfortable bed and the condition of the mattress . Very gross. Will not stay there again!!!!
- Michael (4/5): Red - The place is just dirty the people that run the place only care about sending money to their home country
- Maggie (8/5): - Everything was just fine all i did was shower n sleep. I liked that thier was parking right in front of our room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was filthy absolutely disgusting black stuff on the walls the tub was nasty
- Michelle (6/5): Ive no idea why I stayed - The bed was smaller than reserved the desk person was not friendly couldn't speak english well hard to understand
- Meg (4/5): - Nothing at all very smelly in room and found dirty underwear in back of door
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was ok. - Towels were not clean. A few bugs. Cheap room though for the night. Bed was clean. Floor was dirty.
- Jane (6/5): No frills hotel - While the hotel was a no-frills kind of place, it did have a fridge and microwave which surprised me. Overall the room was clean, except one of the towels looked like it had dirt all over it....maybe it was stains that wouldn't come out? The place could use some tlc in the bathroom area ....new paint, better towels( the ones supplied were thin and scratchy).
- yoyo (4/5): - Not the cleanest room, really musty-smelling. Check in was easy.
- Beverly (2/5): Never stay here - This was a horrible hotel to stay in. No daily room cleaning. If you wanted clean towels you had to take the dirty ones back to the office. No large trash bags to place all trash in. Bathroom very tiny. I will never stay in this hotel again and I will never recommend it to anyone.
- Michael (2/5): Horrible stay - No housekeeping offered entire stay which was 8 nights! Had to go to desk to get toilet paper and clean towels bag our own trash day 5 toilet started leaking at floor seal. Air conditioning did not work no microwave or breakfast as advertised in app no coffee in room or anywhere else on property
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was close to restaurants and highway. Run down and smells like mold
- JdanR (2/5): Bad, Cold, Mean, - Red Carpet Inn, Greenville, Illinois. I asked for 2 additional blankets tonight, as the heater doesn't work, and bed only has 1 blanket and bedspread. #1 I was told it was impossible it didn't work people had just stayed in that room for 3 days and hadn't complained. Said doesn't have any more of those kinds of blankets. I answered that I didn't care what kind they were. Came down to check it out, heater cut out. No offer to move me, gave me one extra blanket. I had a lap blanket in the car. So, 2 hours to go, I've not slept, but neither have I frozen to death, thank God!--room 119, 11/7/19, 21° F!
- crystal (6/5): - Just okay had to ask for more towels in a double bed room, they only gave us 2
- Janice (10/5): August Trip - I enjoyed the accommodations very much!
- Craig (6/5): Decent - Decent, but breakfast is not included, contrary to the website
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a basic motel. Clean, comfortable. Great for the price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was a place to sleep, advertised breakfast, but was told they were remodeling so no breakfast that is why the rate was so cheap. No food in vending machines. Also took my credit card for payment. No eye contact, no suggestions as to where to eat. Seemed to be bothered that he had to wait on us at all.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bectruly pet friendly - If you are going to allow pets don’t grimace when they check in. My dogs are cleaner than the old wino hanging around outside smoking like a chimney
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bed was super comfy. Manager was helpful and professional. The curtains need washing but overall it was clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room had a terrible smell. Tiny tiny bathroom. The tub and sink in desperate need to be replac d. I did not feel comfortable to take a shower. Bedspread visibly soiled. Carpet left the bottom of my socks literally black. No safety lock on door... deadbolt only.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad customer service - Spotty internet in the room. Stubborn and lazy clerk at the desk who did not want to check Wi-Fi connection.
- Darlene (4/5): What the heck - This was my second time staying. The price is right for one night. But I guess you get what you pay for. I saw something crawling on the wall. I said what the heck walked over looked up at the wall OMG a roach. I said this is my last stay never again. I took a pic then I had to kill it. I didn’t want to take the chance on it traveling back home with me. One last thing my heater started smelling like smoke and it set the alarm off. It was cold that night so I had to turn the heat off and bundle under the covers.
- Rebecca (4/5): - Hotel staff on duty was told we needed more towels and toilet paper and he actually came to our room to see that we really needed some! He was unfriendly and short. The room was shabby. The bed was comfortable but very musty. It was a smoking room that I requested however I have stayed in many smoking rooms that didn't smell that bad! The hotel needs a serious makeover!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to spend a night while traveling. Inexpensive and rooms clean and in good shape.
- Angela (4/5): - Very outdated, room smelled. Once there they said they didn’t have the room we reserved.
- K (4/5): - This place was pretty rundown. The fridge was off, the room smelled like old people, the air conditioner was dripping into the carpet, and it was overall not very good. Thats it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bad adore
Bad customer service . There was bugs in the bed.
Not clean
- Don (8/5): Nice hotel in small college town. - The price was right. The room was clean and well kept. I plan to stay there again when I have to be in Greenville. I would recommend it to a friend.
- Ruth (10/5): - I greatly appreciate a low cost hotel. Yes, you get what you pay for, but that I will live with for the cost. These people are friendly, efficient, clean and courteous. Easy access to the interstate and a restaurant next door. Perfect for my budget.
- Christina (6/5): Everything was OK - Everything was OK. The height of the beds and the bathroom sink were curiously low. Other than that it was a fine stay.
- Jeremy (10/5): - The room was nice, big flat screen tv, lots of channels to choose from, microwave and refrigerator.
- thomas (6/5): - hotels.com had stated that it had freen breakfast. did not.
- 464drewc (6/5): Just to sleep - There is no breakfast and there is no place for it to be had.
Clean room and comfortable bed. Could use some work. The doors have a deadbolt but no security locks.
Tv, microwave, frig, and coffee. Not fancy but it's warm and clean.
- Na (6/5): Clean & Comfortable w/ Easy access - Good location of the main hwy., virtually non-existent breakfast (low season & bkfst.room closed), clean & well loooked after property, easy parking in front of unit - good WIFI
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not good. - It wasn’t great. The room was dirty and the whole place needs a good scrubbing. The carpet felt damp. And the door desperately needs replacing.
- Charles (8/5): - Very friendly
- Dennis (6/5): Just OK
- It was Just OK for Cheap night Hotel. Could Never get the internet to work even though the owner tried a few tricks.
- Greg (10/5): Completely satisfied - This was a very good bang for the buck
- C (8/5): No problems - For the price, this hotel was clean and pretty comfortable. I would stay here again.
- Diana (8/5): - We were on our way back home to Ohio from vacationing. We were lust looking for a place just to rest for the night before heading back to Ohio. We arrived late at the hotel. It could have been more convenience for us if the hotel provide microwave and refrigerator so that we could just heat whatever we have in microwave. unfortunately we just could not do it.
- Rodger (6/5): Met expectations - Perfect for my needs. We drove in late and were processed quickly.
- Dennis (6/5): - Rooms were small, old but clean. TV & Wi-Fi worked OK. Website said breakfast was available, but there was nothing. Only a few people stayed here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice, clean motel for the money - Quick and easy check in, no problems. Everything was clean. You couldn't beat the price.
- J (2/5): Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. - When we walked in it was 10 pm. Host was dressed in shorts pajamas to greet us. When I asked about breakfast he handed me 2 packaged cinnamon rolls which were stale. In the bathroom and under the table there were 2 big dead bugs. Bed was uncomfortable - had a 2 day backache. Not sure about the sheets as i woke up with a dark rash from ankles to knees which took over a week to go away. In the daylight we could see how in need of repair this place was. Window screens all bent so bugs can get in. Interior was banged up too, large holes with childlike attempt at plaster work. Yuck! Will never stay here again.
- Dewey (2/5): Eun down - No bathtub stopper. Continental breakfast consisted of small prepackaged pastry (limit of 1). Coffee only in room. Overpriced under circumstances.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Overnight Location for Crossing I-70 - No frills, but very affordable and comfortable room.
- Melinda (4/5): - The air quit working. It was cooler outside than inside.
- B8779OHrogers (6/5): Great bed, terrible room! - The price was amazing (47 bucks), bed was by far one of the best I've ever slept on but that's where the good ends. Room was musty, and had roaches/water bugs. If you stay here bring cortisone and bug spray. WiFi was so weak it wouldn't even connect.
- donnar783 (6/5): Clean Room but Needs Work - We stopped here on our way home. The place was clean but in need of some updating. The bathroom sink had been painted to cover up the fact that it had been very worn and old. We had our dog with us, and he started scratching shortly after we arrived. I turned him over and found a flea on him. Our dog is highly allergic to fleas. I'm sure it's hard to control this since dogs are allowed in the hotel, but there's got to be something they could spray in the room to help.
- nicolasl685 (6/5): Ok for the price - The place is clean and comfortable, despite needing some improvement. The men at the reception is not very welcoming, but is wife is far more sympathetic. He decided not to serve breakfast since the hotel was pretty empty that morning. The price is ok, especially if you catch a coupon book at the rest area...;-)
- little_rigger (2/5): yikes... - Stayed here due to an unplanned travel and the price was right... but I would not recommend anyone stay here. Red stains on the bedding, issues in the bathroom with cleanliness, and bad smell in the room. Not a great experience, but we needed a cheap room for the night and it worked for that purpose (luckily I carry extra blankets in the car and put those on the bed!)
- Gasaway (2/5): Never again - Room 103 - 2 night stay. Was told upon booking only 2 rooms left to book... We were 1 of 6 rooms that stayed for the weekend. No breakfast, no pool as advertised. The room smelled horribly of mildew (used an entire bottle of perfume and 2 kinds of air freshener and never got rid of the smell..) the bath tub filled full of water while showering everytime and took 15 minutes to drain. The TV was from 30 years ago, no TV Guide... We had to search through the channels which channel arrangement was random and the remote only worked with volume an pushing each number (no up down channel usage). I took the trash to the office and asked for more bags which he gave me but told me to walk the trash across the parking lot to the dumpster. The room overall was run down... No money is put back into this hotel.. Don't count on customer service.... will never stay there again!
- ClifS_12 (8/5): Good place to Stay, for one passing through who just need a good night sleep. - The place had a small refrigerator, beds were OK, received a good night sleep, and paid half what a Hamption Inn would have cost. TV worked fine, but we came there to get some sleep, then move on which we did, but refreshed. Had a tub with shower, as well. So, for the price, it was very good.
- memebeachman (6/5): ok - ok for money i suppose but internet was misleading.... no pool,no fridge, or breakfast. room smelled of mildew, febreeze came in handy.but overall location was perfect for my trip. it was also kid friendly.but i wish i would have bought bug spray because i woke up with 3 large spider bites and had been nowhere but my room. will never go back!
- DeborahM933 (8/5): In A Pinch - This hotel, in a pinch, was right on time. The price was comparable w the accommodations, and service was great. I wish it had, at the least, a blow dryer in the room. But it lacked that and an iron, luckily for me I was okay not having either. It was however very quiet, within walking distance to McDonald's. I used to washer and dryer and it was a good deal on price for the two. I liked that the sink was in the bathroom, not all of the hotels have this feature any longer. Although the website when I booked the hotel said fridge available upon request, it was already readily available when I arrived which was a nice surprise. Room was clean and in the morning they came knocking to ask if I wanted maid service. The other hotels I have stayed at always waited until I had left and then came in, honestly I like the idea of them coming when I am there I feel my possessions are a little safer this way. Again good accommodations for your money. If you want the Ritz move on, but if you want value for your buck it's definitely here!
- gloriag359 (8/5): The service is top notch! - The customer service was excellent! Very friendly people. They even helped me find the best transportation in the county! I checked in very late with absolute ease after arriving from St. Louis. I was greeted with kindness. My room was comfortable and very conveniently located. It was pretty clean and the amenities that were promised were delivered! In fact, I feel this hotel provided a little more than I had expected for its very inexpensive rate. The care the management has put into this hotel is very evident. This is a good property, especially for short stays. I fully recommend this as a great buy!
