Guest Reviews
- Jack (8/5): - Nice stay
- Steven J (8/5): - We stayed in the standalone cottage with its own private courtyard and would highly recommend that option.
We were disappointed that the unit did not include even a refrigerator. It can be very noisy in the middle of the night between Sunday and Monday when all the garbage trucks, street cleaners, and morning deliveries are happening at the same time. That's out of control of the property but is notable.
- Kristina (8/5): - The blinds need to be replaced, curtains would help soften the room, a mini fridge in the room would be nice, & help bringing my luggage up/down the stairs would’ve been top noch. Staff was nice & food was really good. A solution to the parking needs to be done. One of the restaurant staff members mentioned that the staff usually uses the street parking and customers have to hunt for parking and move their car when the restaurant closes & the staff goes home.
- Michael (10/5): - Everything was so perfect...
- David (10/5): - Great restaurant on site.
- Maddie (10/5): Cute spot in a great location! - Great location!!! Connected to the brewing company which has fantastic food and good music. The cleaning ladies were on it daily with fresh towels, making the bed, and fresh ear plugs! Beds were comfy! The shared bathroom was clean and never busy!
- Daria (10/5): Cozy Euro-style gem in north Napa - The hotel office off to the side of the building had lovely greeters and an easy check-in process. The stairs up to the second floor were well-maintained and gave a bit of a workout when toting luggage (this building does NOT have an elevator). Clean, crisp bedsheets and well-dusted drawers greeted us as we walked through our room door. The shared bathrooms were clean, stocked with shampoo/body wash, and had extra towels. The only negative in our opinion is the walls are a bit thin in this older building; we could hear some satisfied guests coming in after wine tours in the evenings, but after all it's wine country!
- Betty (10/5): - No parking really for hotel guests, street parking only. Did not realized it was a shared bathroom with all the 18 rooms there were male and female bathrooms 2 toilets 2 showers.
- Hector (10/5): - Affordable, easy street parking, didn’t mind the shared restrooms. Sink inside was great. Def bring enough water.
- Verified traveler (6/5): an ok place - We stayed at the superior cottage which has it's private bathroom. The place is big, but outdated. Air conditioning is not strong enough.
- Jonathan (10/5): Awesome location - Very clean room that was small but comfortable. The share bathroom was clean and I never encountered anyone else while I was using it.
- Janis (2/5): - Horrible noise played very loud music until 9:30.
- kim (10/5): - This little cottage was adorable clean beautiful private garden sitting area we absolutely loved our stay!
- Barb (10/5): - Beautiful, spotlessly clean, comfy, friendly, a real pleasure to stay!
- Ronald (10/5): - Nice
- David (10/5): - Shared bathroom, no bigge. Very clean and comfortable place with a great restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating. Second time staying here and will stay again next visit to Calistoga.
- Anne (10/5): - Really liked the location and food choices
- Michelle Lynn (8/5): - Even parking was easy, even though it was street parking. The cottage room was very spacious. Staff was extremely friendly. Room was clean and fit our needs.
- Dillon (6/5): - Parking was
- Jan (6/5): - Nice location with a good restaurant outdoors and live music.
Not much light works in the room and shared bathrooms are a bit difficult as doors are mounted the wrong way and it makes it difficult to get into the bathroom. Parking can be iffy, but early arrival gets ou a spot close by.
- Kristen (8/5): - Location is great, room was clean and spacious, but windows and walls are very thin. Although the shared bathrooms were clean and well kept, we would have preferred to have our own in our room for convenience and privacy purposes. Restaurant was great.
- William (10/5): Lovely In - Great little spot on the Main Street, was here for a little staycation. Can’t really beat the price, great location and restaurant downstairs is good and has a lovely outdoor patio with good food, drinks, fire pits, and live music. Didn’t notice when booking there’s shared bathrooms but didn’t bother us.
- Maria (10/5): - Location is perfect.
- June (10/5): - I absolutely loved the Calistoga Inn.
Best night’s sleep I’ve had in awhile.
Great front desk; Fantastic location!
And the “shared” bathrooms were not even an issue!!! Never saw a soul!
- Kevin (8/5): - It was a nice place to stay.
- lesley (10/5): - We loved staying in the little cottage - so spacious/high ceiling and very nicely furnished - huge bathroom with walk-in shower was a plus! Great location to wander main street shops/restaurants in Calistoga after driving through Napa Valley. Loved the hotel's next door restaurant outdoor ambiance/live music, beer and pizza! The lady at the front desk was so helpful and friendly on checkin and checkout.
- fred (10/5): - great people
- kris (10/5): - Very friendly
- Tiffany (10/5): - Great, affordable property in an expensive location. We stayed here for a wedding in Calistoga where we just needed a place to sleep. Free parking along the side streets. Lots of places to walk to eat in the downtown Calistoga area.
Shared bathroom was not an issue for us. Private toilet stalls and there was never more than 1 person in the bathroom with me, most of the time was just me in the bathroom anyways!
Free coffee/tea and pastries downstairs in the morning was a nice surprise. Staff was so friendly and nice!
No elevator so you will have to carry your suitcases upstairs to the rooms. If you need absolute silence to sleep, this might not be the place for you but they do provide ear plugs which we did not have to use.
Would definitely stay again! I was pleasantly surprised at this cute inn!
- Brian (10/5): - Great staff!
- Penelope (10/5): - Todo perfecto
- Lisa (10/5): - The Calistoga Inn was the most affordable place to stay in Calistoga. Very
clean. Very easy to check in/out.
- Kelli (10/5): - Loved the private cottage with outdoor seating area
- Barbara (10/5): - I love my stay. Will be returning in the near future
- angel (8/5): - Cute place. Sharing a bathroom was not as bad as I had imagined. It was kept clean and when a problem was reported it was fixed asap.
- John (10/5): - "I had an absolutely fantastic stay! The room was impeccably clean, with every corner meticulously maintained, creating a refreshing and welcoming atmosphere. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a genuine smile that made me feel right at home. The comfort of the bed and furnishings allowed for restful nights, while the overall cleanliness and exceptional service truly stood out.
I appreciated the convenient location, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Additionally, the value offered was unbeatable, providing an excellent experience without breaking the bank. One of my favorite features was the variety of indoor and outdoor seating areas for enjoying delicious drinks and meals, both of which had a delightful ambiance. Plus, the live entertainment every night added an extra layer of enjoyment to my evenings, making each night feel special. Overall, it was a memorable experience that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!"
- Jason (10/5): - Amazing
- John (10/5): - Great value
- Troy (8/5): - A unique place to stay in Calistoga. The restaurant is right below the rooms and the have live entertainment on some nights. Parking is on the street but it usually is not an issue. Room is clean and restroom are communal but it's easy to take a shower and the toiletries provided are there and if good quality.
- Sibylle (6/5): - Smells a bit weird in the hallway, bathroom area, either the carpet or something smells stagnant. Not in the room. The bathroom /shower areas r clean. Nice to have a lively bar m restaurant there! Only till 10:)
- Kathleen (10/5): - Charming property in a great location.
- Ann (6/5): - Room was comfortable. Window coverings need upgrade - bright and loud outside and blinds broken - so kept window closed but that made it stuffy. Bathroom was around corner not in room - not a real problem but did not realize that until checkin.
- michael (4/5): - Wi-Fi not consistent and sketchy
- paula (10/5): - Lovely place, safe and charming.
If you get a room on the courtyard side, it's a bit bright thru the window blinds from the outside lights, bring an eye mask. If the Inn would consider a black out Roman blind, it might help. They do provide ear plugs to help with the kitchen noise from downstairs. Probably depends on your room's location. Try to stay on the street side towards the front of the property perhaps.
- Andy (10/5): - Ww absolutely loved the property.
- Mayra (10/5): - 😍😍😍
- Reid (8/5): - This is a fun and comfortable place to stay in beautiful Calistoga. Great having the restaurant and bar downstairs. Very friendly staff.
I will definitely stay here again.
- Daniel (4/5): - It’s all about the noise level. Omg the noise. Should ave known… there were earplugs left by the staff on the nightstand upon arrival. And the mattress was awful. We stayed in the cottage room.
- JoHanna (10/5): Calistoga Inn - Its a traditional inn stay, rooms are above a restaurant and the bathroom/shower is down the hall. Everything was clean and the shower had excellent water pressure. Everything was well insulated and i only heard the noise outside when i cracked a window. Strong wifi. Lovely folks at the front desk. There are stairs so keep that in mind, but otherwise highly recommend.
- Sean (10/5): - Wonderful property and a great time
- Lisa (10/5): - The bar is pretty loud at night. But the rooms work great. Not fancy. But def convenient and good value!
- Loren (10/5): Nothing to see. I loved this place and don’t share - Loved this stay. Calistoga is such a quaint little town and this placed is so convenient and nice.
- thomas (10/5): Less is more - We chose this place because the price was right and the location was perfect. We wanted to explore Calistoga and to have restaurants and shops right outside our door. The room was small but exceptionally clean and cute and bright, and well maintained. Our room had a great view of the main street, and it appears that every room has a great view. There was no TV, which was not the slightest bit disappointing, no alarm clock, which was also fine, and hey, the bathroom was down the hall, which actually was not even bad at all. It was very well attended and always clean. There is so much to explore in Calistoga that you won't want to spend much time in your room. The time we spent it was very comfortable. And the restaurant was amazing! Inside dining looked very inviting, but we chose to sit outside, in the incredibly nice atmosphere overlooking the river. The ambiance, the food, the cocktails, the wines, the service were all A+++! We spent hours exploring the fine shops up and down the main street, Lincoln Avenue. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway!
- brandi (10/5): - Great, clean place to stay. Centrally located! Will be back.
- kenneth (10/5): - Bed mattress was kinda lumpy in my cottage, time for a new mattress. Otherwise everything about my stay was outstanding.
Note: I am not sure I would have liked staying at the Inn bldg, with shared bathrooms. But my Cottage, with private bathroom, was outstanding.
- Ian (4/5): Loud road noise and mediocre bed - Loud room from road noise and guest use of stairs. Mattress was hard and uncomfortable. We requested a second sheet two times and were completely ignored. The front desk wasn't staffed at checkout. Overall, while a quaint idea to stay at an old fashioned hotel, it wasn't comfortable and sleeping was challenging due to the noise.
- Rebecca McAndrew (10/5): Beautiful stay - What a lovely place to stay. Beautiful property. Cute rooms. Bathrooms were spotless. We had a great lunch sat on the patio in the sun. Good happy hour. Great location- on the Main Street but you can also phone for a wine shuttle to take you to wineries in the outskirts of town for free. Very helpful staff. Coffee/ tea facilities (with a tasty scone in the am) available in reception. Easy parking on a quiet street outside. Great value too.
- Erin (10/5): - Super easy check in & great value.
- steven (10/5): - We liked that the bar, the food and the room were all in the same building.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Calistoga Inn and their restaurant were superb! Can't say enough great things. Thought the shared bathrooms were going to be annoying but they worked out fine.
- Jake (10/5): - Great stay
- Chris (6/5): - Rating: 3.5 out of 5
We stayed in a private bungalow with an en-suite bathroom, which was a great feature. The location in downtown Calistoga made everything easily accessible, and the cleanliness of both the room and property stood out. The staff was friendly, and the complimentary coffee and scones in the lobby were a nice touch.
However, the bedding was a major downside—1 star. The old spring mattress desperately needs an upgrade, as it left our backs sore.
If the bed is improved, I would definitely recommend this as a great spot for a relaxing getaway!
- Evelyn (8/5): Charming Hotel - Cute hotel, good food at the restaurant. It is a small room, and a shared bathroom for genders for the entire floor. Did not have any issues sharing the facility, would book again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location, hard old mattresses - It was okay. The bed was really old and not comfortable. Flimsy thin blankets and a noisy heater. The location is perfect however if planning an evening Calistoga. I just wish they would invest in the comfort of their property for guests.
- Michael (8/5): Mu fav! in Calistoga - The stay was very good, 4 nights. The hotel is a legacy building and is well kept. The rooms are exceptionally clean and serviced every day. The hotel has common bathrooms which are very clean and provides privacy. I stay there when I visit Napa and Lake County for work so very little time spent in the room. The hotel features a top line restaurant downstairs which I visited twice. Others go elsewhere if they want a private facility.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Less expensive wine country option. - The Calistoga Inn is a quaint boarding-house style inn upstairs over a classically-detailed restaurant with adjacent brewery nestled alongside the river. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the bathroom and shower facilities are just down the hall. Recommend the rooms toward the back of the building which are away from the busy street traffic noise, stairwell and bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and gave a short tour of the historical photographs in the restaurant.
- JOSEPH (10/5): - Nice
- manpreet (10/5): - Nice for short stay and clean rooms and bedding
- Noemi (10/5): - First of all, we stayed at this cottage that has a private bathroom and shower unlike the other rooms in the property. Caesar (manager) was so helpful that he went out of his way to help my friend to be able to get her transportation to check in at her hotel. He didn't have to, but he saw that we had no other way of transportation for there was no Uber driver responding. Everyone of the staff were accomodating and welcoming. The food and drinks are also amazing. We will come back to this Inn and I highly recommend it.
- Tami (10/5): - I love this hotel I stayed here years ago, but it is even better. The shared bathroom is awesome has multiple private toilets and showers with a mens and women's section. The rooms are very clean and cute, the new bar downstairs is really fun with views of the creek and downtown. This is a great value, and I will be back again and again!!
- Lauren (10/5): Great find in Calistoga - Location, location, location! This hotel sits right on the strip of downtown Calistoga. Restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms, boutiques, bakeries, spas, and gym are all within walking distance. The hotel is attached to 2 bars and a restaurant which I recommend. Think of your room as more European style; bathroom and shower are down the hall.
- kathy (10/5): - This boutique hotel is clean and comfortable, I don’t mind the shared bath, there’s a sink in the room. Located downtown Calistoga, perfect for walking around and checking out the shops.
- kyle (10/5): - Calistoga Inn is always an amazing experience. We love to stay in the Cottage and everything is walking distance.
- Phil (10/5): Calistoga Inn - Staying here was a real treat. The Inn was built in the late 19th Century and renovated somewhere along the way (See attached picture from 1890's. The restaurant is full of pictures from Calistoga history.). The Inn has a relaxed character that I like. The rooms have a bed and a sink. The bathroom/shower room is centrally located. I found this quaint and liked it. It gave a "homey" feeling to the situation. They had coffee and a scone for us for breakfast. The attached restaurant was welcoming. I didn't eat there, but several people did, so I suspect locals find it good dining. The town of Calistoga has many interesting looking shops and a very friendly atmosphere. Should I return, I will definitely stay at the Calistoga Inn.
- Robert (10/5): - This place was a beautiful historic building, it was just amazing. We loved it! We will be back.
- David (10/5): - great stay. great location
- Nicole (2/5): - I had no idea that I was sending a single woman to a hotel that had no bathroom in the room. For that price there should’ve definitely been a bathroom in the hotel room
- Grace (10/5): - Charming inn in the heart of Calistoga. Clean, rustic and had very friendly service.
- Tim (4/5): - We love Calistoga and have stayed here many times….This visit we were placed in room 8 and we would not recommend this room being used for guests at all. The blinds were broken with bright orange exterior lights shining in. There were no curtains to cover the bright light shining in and two industrial kitchen fans outside each window on the roof. The room was over the kitchen which was super loud from check in to well after 1am. I had reached out to the front desk about it blinds and situation and no one responded to us. Dinner was delicious below however this room should NOT be assigned to any guest.
- Jack (8/5): - The hotel and staff were amazing. The restaurant was great. We were notified that the rooms didn’t have bathrooms before we arrived, but when rating the hotel I have to deduct for that reason. It wasn’t too bad for us because we stayed during the week during a slow season, but if it was full the bathroom situation could be very difficult. Other than that the hotel and Restaurant was great.
- Dennis (10/5): - Great location!
- Julie (6/5): - Shared bathrooms with the whole floor.
- Dulce (2/5): - The noise level is horrible. There was loud noises all night long and it made it impossible to sleep.
- Dale (8/5): - Rooms were small but adequate and efficient. Bed was wonderful.
Since no en suite and i forgot slippers, it would be nice if they provided some inexpensive/throwaway slippers when walking to the bathroom.
Bottomline, i would stay here again.
- Susan (10/5): - Modern and clean. Very centrally located.
- MICHELLE TINA (10/5): - We had a great stay! Everything was walkable, will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay - A really nice big cottage room with a private courtyard and bath. Very nice
- Dionne (8/5): - Great walkable location. The window blinds were broken and hard to use but other than that it was good
- Verified traveler (10/5): No bathroom - No bathroom in the room but great besides that.
Also. The bathrooms said they had towels, they appeared to have towels, after showering it became clear they were just bathmats. I sprinted down the hall to my room covered in bathmats and it was fine but not ideal. Just be aware of the towel size provided....
- Sydney (6/5): - barebones
didn't smell great
shared bathroom facility not very clean
- TJ (10/5): Quick stop in the nappa valley - Perfect for what we needed. The brewery restaurant was absolutely amazing.
- gRACE (10/5): Nice place. - Very nice place. We were there mid week so the shared bathroom was not a problem. So centrally located, really nice restaurant and friendly people.
- Jean (10/5): - Clean and quaint!!!
- Nina (4/5): - Kind of expensive for shared facilities but that what you get in napa county. The lock on our door was falling off and it was a little loud with drunk people.. but again that’s napa! Parking was just street parking and not limited onsite as stated. It was fine but next time we will pay a little extra for our own bathroom.
- Andrew (10/5): - The Inn is a great option and not overly pricey. Most people will see the shared bathroom situation as a negative, but it's not a huge issue. There are about 17 rooms that share the two bathrooms. Each one has two private showers as well as two private bathroom stalls. I never had any issue getting into either one. They are clean enough. Don't let this one thing prevent you from staying here. Everything else is great. No parking assigned to the Inn, but street parking was not a major issue. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay there again if I made another trip to Napa.
- Tracy (10/5): - Cottage was private so no shared bathroom. Parking was directly outside the room and the inn has a restaurant and brewery onsite. The food and beer were delicious. The staff at the desk both at check in and check out are friendly, the gal at check in even gave us a quick tour! The only negative was the noise from the street, they left earplugs by the nightstand!
- Jayne (8/5): - Nice one night stop. Would have preferred on suite but bathrooms were close and adequate
- Cameron (8/5): - Very cute. Good vibes. For light sleepers, it can be a little noisy or bright, if on restaurant side.
- Mary (8/5): - Totally out of control of Management: noises of delivery & garbage trucks in the wee hours (4-5 AM). But we slept with the windows open because the outdoor temp was nicely chilly.
Had a late appetizer & beverages in the patio garden. We enjoyed the very singable music of the musician. 70s, 80s, 90s soft rock. Elton John to Donna Summers.
- Pamela (10/5): - I had a lovely harvest stay. Got to taste wine at my favorite Keenan Winery nearby. The European style inn, WC down the hall, IS PERFECTLY nice AND ABOUT HALF THE PRICE OF ANY OTHER OPTION IN NAPA VALLEY. GREAT DEAL. LOVE THE EXCELLENT RESTAURANT WITH OUTSTANDING PATIO AND LIVE MUSIC DOWNSTAIRS. ALTHOUGH THE LODGE PROVIDED FREE EARPLUGS, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY SILENT AT NIGHT AND THEY WERE NOT NEEDED. No idea why this form just turned most of my review into all CAPS, but I can’t be bothered to rewrite it so please know I’m not yelling.
