Guest Reviews
- H4730WMchrisg (2/5): The Worst I have ever seen. Ever! - Award-Winning! In my 40 plus years traveling, this place wins the award for the filthiest, nastiest, sketchy-ish room EVER. You would have to see my photos to believe how bad it was.
- Excursion47092446239 (2/5): Rude owner. Don't trust him - I came by myself this time paid for 3 days in cash. Since I turned the owner down, and my guy came over for a short time...he called the cops on both of us and he's a p.o.s
Don't stay here. He uses his dog to get to ppl.
He's very inappropriate on what he says.
- Carrie (4/5): - Its fine for now. Its cheaper than anything else while looking for a place to live. The mgt is nice. Its olderand kinda cold.
- Donald (10/5): - Aa quite place with easy access for my trailer
- David (4/5): - Sheets were stained. Property is very dated. Electrical plug had no faceplate and was hanging out of the wall.
- Ryan (10/5): - It was good
- Thomas (4/5): - Please don't let people think that this is a nice place to stay at.
The room was dirty and the bathroom was disgusting. The bed sheets were dirty and the towels you could see through.
- Barbara (4/5): Don't stay here. - Hotel is a total dump. Curtains were "see through " and room was in terrible condition. Mattress was worn out. Arm chair in the toom was stained and filthy.
- Cassandra (8/5): West plains motel - Perfect for a cheap room while visiting family. No bed bugs. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Beware of bed bugs - Bed bugs, enough said.
- Mylene (2/5): Night of terror - The first room that I was given was so filthy. There was dirt all over the floor there. Bath bathtub was horrible the toilet had dried poop in it. And when I lifted the sheet I found, there was dog hairs all over the sheet. When I asked for a refund, I couldn't get one because I had booked through home.com. expedia And they would not give
me my money back. So the manager put me in another room for that night since it was very late and i walked away from the rest of my reservation to stay where it was clean and safe. *shivers*
- Douglas (6/5): - Room was old.
- Curt (2/5): - Nasty dirty place. Sticky floors, used soap in tub, grime on walls/curtains/ac unit. It was bad…
- Haylee (2/5): - The work told I should have checked the room to make sure it was before I stayed in the room then when I was picking something up I happened to look under the bed and seen old molding food and old signal cup they had roachs bad I took pictures of everything
- munich1969 (2/5): dilapidated druggie motel - Practically uninhabitable. Strong smell of must/mold made me sick. Grungy old green shag carpet too gross to walk on without shoes. Bedding stained and had holes in it. Bathtub covered in grime stains. Shower dripped all night. High male meth addicts came to sit/ lay at front door & talk nonsense & act scary strange. I called the manager & he asked them to move, but they were residents of the motel, so they just moved a few feet over to their own rooms. I did not feel safe. I felt like I was staying in a run down crack house.
- Sandra (10/5): - The beds were clean and comfortable. The motel was old, but well kept. Showers were hot.
- Melissa (2/5): - We were traveling as a family of 8 booked 2 rooms. Check in the guy spoke very little English so communicating was tough. We opened the first room and we always check beds at every location in which we found what appeared to be blood/stains on the pillow, pillow case, and sheets. Took pictures and showed the desk when requesting a new room. Both rooms smelled like urine and very outdated (like original built in the 50s outdated)
- Steve (4/5): - No cups in room dirty
- Christopher (4/5): - It was the lowest costing hotel in West Plains.
- Christopher (6/5): - It is the cheapest hotel option in West Plains and is better than sleeping in your car.
- Wes (4/5): - Found dirty towels in the bathtub. Bathtub and commode were dirty, feces on the bowl. Floor was sticky. Bedspreads & rugs were visibly dirty. Trash in front of our door - we removed it after our 2 night stay. Room had a sour odor. The front desk attendant and housekeeper were very pleasant.
- Alice (10/5): - The location was convenient to the freeway and to our friends.
- Eric (10/5): - Reliable check in. Beds feel fine. Great price.
- Bill (8/5): Motel stay - The motel location was close to the park and wonderful for a dog walk. The room was clean and parking was especially convenient.
- Von (4/5): - The room was very outdated smelled musty and was dingy. The bathroom was dirty especially the bathtub it hadn't been cleaned. And the room was filled with flies.
- Bert (4/5): - Centered around town. But owner/manager up in your business to much rooms are sloppy.mixed matched furniture or broken. Bugs sometimes reuses dirty linen's.Needs to communicate better very broken English
- Leanda (6/5): - Flies in bathroom. Beds nice and clean. Very limited coffee.
- Cindy (4/5): - It's a budget friendly no frills motel. It has a clean bed and a clean bathroom. It could us a major deep clean and updating. Even though it's nonsmoking the cigarette smell caused me to asthma problems. I will not be staying here again because of that.
- Gabbi (6/5): - I didn’t like that the bathroom shower was absolutely filthy and that the shampoo and conditioner weren’t even tested on animals (says on the package) so I didn’t even know if anything was safe to use and the mini fridge was absolutely disgusting.
- Anita (6/5): - No one at front desk when trying to check out.
- Glenda (6/5): Ok room for the price - Bathroom could have been cleaner, bed was comfortable. It was supposed to be a non smoking room but you can tell someone smoked in there before. Not a bad deal for a weekend. The owner let us leave a car for the day after we had already checked out but wanted to explore the area before heading home.
- kevin (6/5): Dark side of the moon - it was a place to sleep after witnessing the total eclipse.found it last minute. dated but, clean.
- Michael (2/5): No Way in Heck! - First time I have ever been compelled to give a review. Found this place had vacancy in the path of totality of the recent eclipse so cancelled reservations a hundred miles away and thought we'd give this little gem a try for the convenience of the location alone, HUGE mistake! Upon check in received our key card and arrived at our room. The card did not work so returned to the office and had the card reworked. Again, the lock did not work so another trip back to the office, this time with the full time resident in the neighbor room who says "this happens all the time". The office attendant this time comes to the room with the master key and proceeds to attempt to change the batteries in the lock but this still does not fix the problem. The gentleman then begins to leave and I ask "is it fixed"? He smiles, says "No" but I guess since he got us in the room and thinks were there for the night we can just lock the door behind us and we are in. He leaves and all the while I'm thinking he's going to return to properly fix the lock. We enter the room and immediately my wife is like, "there is no way we are staying here". There is a smell of old cigarettes mixed with lord knows what else the permeates the place. Stains on the beds, lap shades, and carpets that go beyond description. "Dump" doesn't even begin to describe this room. We got our money back and camped out in the car overnight at a local truck stop. That is how bad this place is.
- Laurie (2/5): - Rude staff that barely understands English, so poorly you're met with blank stares when you ask questions because they don't understand you. Room smelled mouldy and musty, badly enough we had to buy air freshener to tolerate the room. Room was dirty, with sticky stuff on the floor, nasty stains on the sheets and all over the bathroom. Smoke alarm had no battery. Unknown stuff smeared on the walls. Numerous people who "live" at the motel appeared to be on illicit substances and we're screaming at each other and behaving violently multiple times during our stay. Water from tap had strange metal flakes in it, and any time you turned on the tap in the bath it ran red with rust. Seriously dissatisfied with this place, especially for the price they gouged us for because of the eclipse....
- Joe (8/5): - the property was satisfactory. The booking by Expedia was horrible. Got to the motel and find out they can't find my booking. The manager made it right. Never will I book with Expedia again!!
- Stay63542069659 (2/5): Don't Stay Here - Don't Stay Here if you want peace of mind and a clean room.... The stink when we first walked in was of must and mould. We had to buy an air freshener to deal with it... The bathroom was a special level of disgusting... See photos.... Nasty stains on the linens, unknown stuff smeared on the walls.... Water from the tap had metal flakes of unknown substances in it... Water ran red with rust when you first turn it on.... Unhelpful staff... Breakfast wasn't worth checking out, with coffee where multiple pots were made from the same grounds (we watched them make it!), waffle batter that had been so watered down you couldn't make waffles with it, and cold cereal... Please don't stay here....
- Bob (2/5): - Property was dirty and very little breakfast food, I will not stay here again, EVER
- Sandra (2/5): - I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. Carpet was stained and had holes, sheets did not appear to be clean, towels were stained and very thin. Mold and stains in the tub…I wouldn’t bathe my dog in it. Definitely won’t be staying here again!
- Donna (6/5): - Carpet wasn't attached to the floor. Bathroom is from the 1950s. Beds are very uncomfortable
- William (8/5): - Great for the price.
- Cindy (10/5): - It was a quick and easy check in and plenty of parking space.
- Douglas (4/5): Stay away - Place was nothing like the pictures online. Rug was stained and had holes in it. Bathroom was disgusting. Says renovated in 2017,more like 1957. Not worth it even for the price listed.
- Steven (4/5): - When we arrived, the heater was on and the room was about 90 degrees; it took all night for it to cool off. There was no ice bucket or drinking glasses, the the shower was like something you would use to power wash a horse, plus cold water sprayed from the cold water handle. The overall condition of the motel had deteriorated and there was essentially no breakfast, hot or otherwise.
- Logan (10/5): - Very nice places we loved our stay here
- Elkie (2/5): Sleep in your car - I've done all 50 states and stayed in some awful places but this one wins ... my daughters begged me to sleep in the car as the place was disgusting. Bathroom hadn't been cleaned , beds had no pillow cases on and linen was not fresh , loads of broken bottles outside . The man and son were looking in our window . Weird . Plus I've been itching ever since . You really do get what you pay for.
- Kendra (2/5): - There was no towels in the room, the refrigerator was dirty and still had ice cream in it from a previous guest, couldn’t get the tv to work for 2 or 3 hours and I finally figured it out. The room was advertised for 42.00 when we got here it was 68.00. And we had reserved the room ahead of time
- Shaun (2/5): - Nothing it was a dump.
- Daniel (10/5): Comfortable, spacious, and clean! - Very spacious, and very clean. Literally looks brand new! Our first time staying in West Plains, so no idea on that, but all three of our rooms were perfect, comfortable, and an amazing breakfast provided.
- William (10/5): - Nice big parking lot for vehicles with trailers. Easy location to find.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I am not planning to return to this motel. The room I was in was very shabby and needing renovation.
- Linda (2/5): - This was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. Person doing the check in was rude. Then got into the room, not impressed at all. It was disgusting. Dead bugs on bathroom floor, we were provided 1 very thin medium towel and a floor mat towel that was stained. Hot water took forever. Room badly in need of being brought out of the 1960's. I do not recommend this place. Avoid at all cost.
- Sharon (10/5): I would stay again - It was fast and easy to check in. The room was nice and clean. Easy to get to. Has a safe and comfortable feeling to it.
- Michael (2/5): Be weary. - I was greeted with a “yes?” on arrival. There is no attempt at customer service or friendliness here. The ice machine was broken. My neighbor didn’t have any toilet paper. Stained rug, stained tub, no outdoor sitting/smoking area, it was a smoke free room but the blanket had cigarette burns.
The television didn’t have a single channel and the handle on the microwave was broken. The fridge and ac worked wonderfully.
- Curt (2/5): - Smoked in room, even though I specified non-smoking
- Verified traveler (6/5): - You get what you pay for
- Brett (8/5): - After checking in I noticed the tv did not work, toilet seat was broken, and toilet was backing up into shower. I notified management and all issues were completed/fixed right away.
The only problems were sheet protector was not secured tightly on sheets, the sun shone through windows in the morning so I could not sleep in. Not much can be done about the sun I understand just be aware of this issue when booking.
Continental breakfast served.
- Chelsea (2/5): - After booking amd finally getting a room. It was dirty walking in. My refrigerator was outside for maintenance and i was told i could put it back in my room. Then laid in bed to find cockroaches in the bed amd went to shower and found more roaches. Could barely see with a dim light as well as a graffiti lap shade on a lamp that didnt work. Very unsatisfied with the hotel and staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Their was really no comuncation when I was checking in. It smelled so bad in the room when I opened the door. The bathroom floor was wet it was so gross we didn't even shower. I told my girls not to take their shoes off because the carpet was nasty and we used our own pillows and covers. If it was up to me I wouldn't have them on here I was very unhappy with this place. We didn't even eat their breakfast that morning.
- Casey (2/5): - Terrible
- Dawn (4/5): - Carpets needed replaced, Rooms need updated.
- Tellita (2/5): - This property is not ran very well. My room had a used woman's douche left in the shower, it had a used broken drug needle sticking up out of the sink. It did not have any fire alarm in case of fire. The windows did not lock at all and the screen was cut off/out so anybody at anytime could come in through window while we was sleeping. The breakfast was done out of pure laziness. They wouldst even switch me into a different room which is what bothered me the most.
- David (10/5): Nice place to stay - It's a really nice place lots of space in the room everything you need besides you and your clothes it has a microwave and fridge it was clean and quiet
- Joanna (8/5): - The owners and staff are friendly. The building/rooms are classic, the newest part is probably the flooring where the beds are. Definitely could use a little maintenance but it's an economical stay. Could be cleaner.
- Alan (4/5): - convenientation, and nice layout with pull up access. unfortunately, our room was not properly cleaned and was not properly stocked with towels.
- Anne (4/5): - The AC didn't work on arrival. They don't clean / make up beds every day. No wash cloths.
- Mary (10/5): - Large, comfortable room. Had refergerator, microwave and coffee pot. Breakfast needed tea or hot chocolate. Thanks for affordable place to stay.
- Amitabha (8/5): - Hopefully the place will improve further with the new management in place.
- Alta (10/5): - Quiet peaceful convientient like I wanted
- DONALD (10/5): - The whole experience was great. Room was clean, comfortable and very cost effective. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast choices very adequate. Would stay nowhere else in the future.
- Katia (10/5): - This Motel is as good as it gets for the price
- Matthew (2/5): - First of all the guy ripped me off out of $ when I reserve the room originally he wanted me to cancel because he did not want to pay Expedia the $ month and he tried to charge me $ for my dogs which I hesitantly paid Which is B.S. because I reserve the room I annotated on it that I had two dogs weighing five and 20 pounds each
The last review I did on that cesspool is the guy approached me and beg me to take it down
- Verified traveler (2/5): Live like you're in a 3rd world country. - The Room was Nasty. The walls had black handprints everywhere, we could wipe them off easy, so they just don't clean. It was everywhere. Hair and grime mangled into the carpet till there is a black coal like substance in the traffic area. The small bits of paper and hair all in the floor tells you they don't vacuum. The furniture was busted and, in the walkways outside.
- Tammy (10/5): - For the price, you can’t beat it. The staff was awesome. Very polite. It’s a older property. Things are well used. I rated the cleanliness poor, because there was a dirty sock from a former person who had stayed in the room. I did not pick it up. might still be there. Who know how long it was there. Room 43 this last weekend.
- Shyla (2/5): - I didn't like anything it was infested with bed bugs
- Eric (6/5): - It was very dirty in my room the sheets and ink pen marks and dirt on them
- Elizabeth (4/5): - Low cost. Not very clean; used towels were left from previous guest. No daily house keeping. Dated.
- Daniel (8/5): So-So - Check in was at 3:00pm, Rm not ready until after 4:00pm. Typical Motel, small rooms noisy heat and AC unit. Very dated, but did the job. 1 night is enough.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Would stay here again.
- Mark (8/5): - Not the cleanest.
- Hop (4/5): - Staff is friendly and helpful, but condition of room leaves much to be desired. To be fair I was told by other customers that the motel was being slowly renovated.
The room: carpet is stained and badly worn. The refrigerator has brown ice. Yes, brown ice! I caught a roach lurking on top of the microwave, and when it saw me, it scurried back into it. I was under a time crunch so didn't have time to change rooms.
- Janet (8/5): - Needs rug replacement
- June (6/5): You get what you pay for - We've stayed here before but it's been some years. The property has deteriorated a bit and could use some updates. My biggest complaint would have been the shower looked moldy and dirty. It's old but we liked the nostalgia of it. We would stay again.
- Clifford G (8/5): Nice, basic lodging - This is a good, basic older motel built in the mid fifties.
- Kaaren L (10/5): - We come to this area to visit with family and friends and this is a clean, comfortable, inexpensive place for us to spend the night between different parts of our visit.
- Mark (2/5): - Our feet got black walking bare foot on the rug. The toilet was loose on the floor and rocked, leaked. The bed had no bottom sheet and the matress cover had blood on it. We left and stayed elsewhere. I'd like a refund if possible.
- Stacy (2/5): - Dirty and just plain nasty.
- melissa (6/5): - Unsafe. Smelled like smoke
- DAHE5476 (8/5): Comfortable, not luxurious, great price - We like to stay old-style motels with at your door parking, which makes loading and unloading the car much easier. West Plains motel had what we needed: comfortable beds, clean towels and the easy access that we like. The room does have some weird quirks, like no outlets in the bathroom or near a mirror for hair drying.Unfortunately, after we unloaded everything into our room, we discovered that the heater didn’t work. We had to move to another room, which was a hassle. The owner was out of town and the desk clerk did the best she could for us. It was also disappointing to find that there were no biscuits available as promised at breakfast time, even though we were there over an hour prior to breakfast closing. If the motel had been a more expensive one, I would have rated it much lower for the inconveniences we faced. For under $70, though, we would return, and hope that the problems we faced this time wouldn’t happen again.
- Debra (8/5): Clean and comfy - It was a cute little retro hotel. Friendly, knowledgeable front desk staff. Certainly not a fancy place, but clean and comfortable and pet friendly. And you park in front of your room so easy unloading. Well worth the price.
- Daryl (6/5): - Curtains were old and faded. Had holes in them, and could see daylight through the door jams. Floors were dirty. Top sheet and blanket too small bed. Bed ok.
- Rebecca (8/5): - This retro motel from the 50s was clean and served our basic needs.
- Brenda (8/5): Retro feel - I have stayed there before and will definitely stay there again. The rooms have a retro feel. Walk in shower with baby blue tile. The have a nice breakfast spread in the morning. Don't pass up this great price.
- Hoke (2/5): To be clear.. I have pretty low hotel standards - The bathroom nor the room had be cleaned. Other ppls hair, dirt and grass on the floor. No shower curtain. The sink leaked all over the floor so much when on it was unusable. I nicely told management these grievances , and he replied. “ sometimes local clean just say ‘f@&k it’ and don’t do a good job.” I then said “that sure doesn’t reflect an 8.2 rating.” And he verbatim said “not right now, maybe a long time ago.”
- Brent (8/5): - A couple of things needed repaired in my room. Otherwise fine.
- Unionman226 (8/5): worked in west planes - stayed in west planes motel - Union Member - Clean - Fresh Towels - refrigerator supplied - Heat and air included - Bed was Comfortable with Fresh sheets & pillows . Breakfast included > eggs & sausage Gravy With or with out Biskets you choose or waffles - Cereal Coffee - milk - orange juice. You Choose how much for how hungry you are. >>> THE STAFF is Great ** the price is Fair Do book it on line for cheaper rates & Guaranteed price. Central location of town & close to highway. & shopping man stores. Lots to do . Great town & a Great motel. I stayed in Room 23 in September For 3 weeks. Tank you to the owners and Staff For making it a wonderful stay.
- Matthew (10/5): - The toilet was not secured so when you sat on it it rocked
- Robert (8/5): - This is an old school motor hotel-a bunch of one story units with doors opening on the parking lot. Obviously built in the 50s or 60s there's been some effort to update but the basic walls, floors and ceilings are unchanged. This means thin walls with lots of street noise, interior doors between rooms that don't isolate well, plumbing noises from next door, cigarette odors wafting in from the folks outside...
The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and with a high quality white noise machine I was able to sleep well. For what it is it's a decent place to stay, and the price is right, but it really needs updating to stay competitive in this world!
- Robert (10/5): - This property is the classic motel, with a single level and parking in front of the rooms. in spite of its dated appearance, it is well maintained and comfortable.
- Mary E (10/5): - Very clean and easy access.
- Cindy (10/5): - They are friendly and helpful. One of the staff told me to watch the pricing when booking online. Good tip. Thank you.
