Guest Reviews
- Zhangang (9/5): Superb -
- Cooper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Haley (1/5): Bad - We were asked to leave as the owners got evicted.
- Karen (7/5): Good - Friendly staff. Good for price.
- Monica (2/5): Very poor - The position was very close walking distance to station , restaurants and supermarkets The owners english was bad , the smell in the room was musty , microwave was broken and after we asked they replaced it with one that sounded like plane taking off. It was a wonder it didn't explode. The noise of the road kept us awake.
- Brown (10/5): good area, convinient spot just around the corner from the shops, large sized rooms exellent staff - it was a very trust worthy place. our room wasn’t cleaned properly before we arrived, but that wasn’t too much of an issue the sheets were clean and the toilet was clean as well as the towels so that was a positive, the fridge does leak a little and drops water everywhere
- Frances (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (2/5): Cheap and nasty - Location was great Dirty old dilapidated and smelly. Some people live there and they were a bit noisy the second night. Bed in lounge room was disgusting. Everything was falling apart. Gas smell in the place. Road noise.
- Malcolm (10/5): The manger made up for any shortcomings with the room. An absolute gentleman who seems really proud of the motel and the - Great location and really comfortable bed Probably needs a bit of an upgrade but not really a problem
- Martin (5/5): Just gets to a 3 star motel only on the basis of location and price. Rooms need to be updated. - The location is the best thing about the motel. Access to supermarkets and restaurants etc. is great. Rooms need a major overhaul as they are looking very tired with broken furniture etc.
- Susan (1/5): A nightmare. - Nothing about it at all The whole experience. I have put a review of Google today.
- Larry (2/5): Disgusting - The room amd surrounds were disgusting. Dirty. Needs a lot of repair. Tap handles falling off. TV not working, holes in dirty carpet, air con had a fork stuck in gap to stop it rattling, cupboard door falling off, very very rough grout patch up in shower, fridge not working and hot water that scolded you as cannot regulate.
Over all the worse accommodation I have ever stayed in.
- Stacey (10/5): Exceptional - Clean polite easy to deal with shoos close
- Greg (10/5): - Close to Hospital for 7.00 am Start
- Leslie (7/5): Good -
- Kimberly (8/5): Very good -
- Ferguson (7/5): Room was great need more of a clean but had everything we needed - Location great The cars pulling up all night and doing business at 3am in the car park and there was a large dog with them that barked the whole time
Found 3 cigarette butts next to bed on other side was a cut up drink bottle
- Nicholas (3/5): Poor - Staff were nice Room smelled like cigarettes, baby cockroaches in the bathroom, microwave was filthy.
- Alan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Glenys (7/5): Good value for money and clean and convenient. - Close to where our son lives. Near the railway too. It’s an older facility. Somewhat tired.
- Rafael (2/5): Never again - Nothing The whole thing
- Alby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (1/5): I was stabbed in the foot with a un capped dirty used syringe in the hall way and staff pretended th - .nothing its disturbing and unsafe I was stabbed in the foot with a un capped dirty used syringe in the hall way and staff pretended they dont understand english .
- Mcconnachy (10/5): Been on holiday 3 weeks , best one yet . For value and exap3riance - I like how cleaners were thorough and respected my belongings . Staff have been helpful Nothing I didn't like thus far
- Isaac (7/5): Good -
- Marty (1/5): Don’t do it! Spend more and go anywhere else! - Nothing A man coming into our room with a key at 3:30am
- Kerri (2/5): Stay some where else - Arrived late key in room which was very smelly bed was very hard. Carpet was patched badly very hard to get into shower because toilet was in the way of shower door kettle was blacked and as very hard to fill up in bathroom sink when using iron is spatt white calcium all over everything
- Prageeth (5/5): Passable -
- Dell'aquila (1/5): Bad -
- Howard (7/5): Good -
- Steven (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything
- Rochelle (7/5): Easy & affordable if you just need a bed for a night in that location. - Great location for our event & super friendly & helpful manager It’s dated & basic but if you need a bed for a night it’s perfect.
- Rachael (3/5): Room 30: Not a room I'd take my shoes off in. - The location was amazing. Close to loads of restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, trains, other facilities like post office. Easy drive to many great nearby places like Chadstone Mall. Nothing had been cleaned in seemingly a long time. Carpets, surfaces, furniture etc. The smell was horrific but you couldn't leave the window open as there was no fly screen. I bought odor neutraliser & used it 3-4 times a day for 4 days to try to help the situation.
The sofa was filthy...had to put a sheet down before wanting to sit on it. The front glass was broken, the shower screen was broken. I had to ask for soap before I was able to shower.
There was a kettle & toaster, but no mugs, plates or cutlery. There was a filthy sock covering the smoke alarm for a totally unknown reason.
The pool yard was locked with a padlock. The carpark had weeds throughout the papers, cigarette butts, bottle tops & a car that obviously hadn't moved in at least weeks, if not months.
- Alexander (9/5): Stay for my wife is in care -
- Aaron (10/5): - Needles in garden security door not on or have to pad lock itob outside all though it shouldn’t be used till a brand new dooor frame been attached though in ya mind it likes few drills an it can be cut off over a padlock so advice never leave valuables but staff are quite instinctively nice be better if laundry could be open for 9 pm at least
- John (7/5): Good - Great location. Great price Decor a bit old and tired
- Linda (1/5): air con need service - no bfast, good location disturbance from other guests
- Yelena (5/5): Valye for money - Location was convenient for me Smell
- Grant (1/5): We didn’t end up staying the night there we left. Unfortunately booking it through Booking.com. It was not refundable. m -
- Tania (6/5): The property matched the price - The location was convenient as it was close to our family Very old
- Veronika (6/5): Pleasant -
- Francis (7/5): Good -
- Alexander (10/5): Visiting wife I stay here regurlary - The location is great Woolworth 2doors away and shopping complex train station walking distance pub at lights excellent meals and if wait a game on the pokies and a lot of other little shops Nothing the room was excerlant
- Glenn (5/5): Passable - The gentleman at reception was my highlight of the stay. Exceptional customer service. The furniture was dirty. I wouldn't sit on the couch it was stained and grubby. The shower curtain had dry paint on it. There was toilet paper stuffed into cracks in the bathroom wall. There was stains on the brick wall in the main room. The towels had loose treads and could be updated to something new.
Overall, I was not happy with the facilities and won't be staying at the Carnegie again.
- Alexander (9/5): Superb - I have there quite a few times now it’s always been good place to stay Nothing
- Skeels (9/5): Excellent location with comfortable spacious room even though the decor is a bit dated. - Location location location...5mins to shoping centre...8mins to train...3mins to bus to Chadstone...10mins to the start of Carnegie restaurants...easy access when arriving by car from outside Melbourne. Room dated but comfortable and spacious. Onsite laundry. Staff really nice. Bonus that I could park my car away from public view.
- Gary (5/5): Bearable - Close to shopping centre Need to been cleaned up and renovated inside and outside. Shabby appearance in general. Pool is available but not cleaned or serviced.
- Robert (4/5): Disappointing -
- Darren (3/5): Not good - Booked and paid for a 1 bedroom apartment - was put in a single room with double bed. Multiple electricity points not functioning. Unable to turn cold water tap in shower without having to open the shower door (huge design fault)
- Graham (7/5): Good -
- Michael (4/5): Not again, will look for other places. - Woken in the middle of the night by what seemed to be semi permanent residents having a loud domestic dispute with no regard for other guests.
- Gary (1/5): bloody terrible - nothing it was filthy stank hard just to breathe toilet was putrid they have people living there permanently all night screaming and yelling tv didn’t work fridge had no selves had a pizza box as bottom shelf booked in for 3 & only got 2
- Bahareh (8/5): Very good - access to shops, friendly staff. it was quiet. shower was slippery when you stepped inside.
- Buchbach (7/5): Good - Friendly staff, comfortable bed, hot shower with good flow, homely appearance. Lots of lighting options. Had electric blanket, quiet room. Shopping centre and lots of cafes and eating areas near by. Close to train station. For the price towels could be better, no soap (did have shower gel) or biscuits, mismatched crockery, carpet worn and shower needed retiling. For the location and comfort these acceptable but felt price was too high.
- Strous (8/5): Very good - Location. Nothing
- Vanessa (7/5): comfortable - convenient location, basic with good value a bit of maintenance around the motel would make it look more tidy and appealing
- Gary (5/5): Passable - Proximity to restaurants and bars Very old ,desperately need a make over
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Everything clean what I needed close by shopping centre just a couple of minutes away clean and quiet
- Ronald (8/5): Very good - Location, price.
- Wendy (1/5): I did not stay, I left even though I paid - Staff friendly and booking easy I paid and left Bed was clean with good sheets. External property was very very poor. Room was very old which is ok but smelt of cigarettes and was musty
- Narelle (6/5): Pleasant - Staff were very helpful with our flight delays and late check in. Room was clean and comfortable. Noisy plumbing and noisy neighbours!!
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (1/5): Bad -
- Susan (6/5): - Lovely welcome at reception. Unfortunately the room and grounds required a lot of maintenance.
- Sabina (7/5): Good - Great location
Close to shops
Close to the train station
Easy access off main road
Staff are very friendly
The beds are comfortable
Rooms good size This is a dated hotel that needs some upgrades but saying that it was clean and comfortable the rooms we had were great for a family if you're ok with stairs. Just needs some finesse.
- Karen (6/5): Would look for another motel - Location Poor condition especially the bathroom. Mattress needs replacing. Car parking disorganised with no designated place
- Ian (7/5): Good -
- Daryl (3/5): In saying all that it serviced its purpose for a lot less price than most other accomodation that was available. - Alan at reception was really friendly , was close to train station and was close to a lot of restaurants and cafes Was very run down and outdated seem to be people possibly living in some rooms and we had like a crack head or someone yelling outside our room door in the middle of the night , seemed to be some sketchy looking people living or staying there .
- Veronica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danny (6/5): Did the job - this place is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. if you are visiting Koornang Road, can't beat the location.....bee was comfortable and shower was great! the place is very tired and worn and realistically the photos are probably if a better time...
- Patricia (5/5): The price and location were good but definitely in need of refurbishment. - The staff were helpful and friendly, the shower was great in terms of water temperature and pressure. The price and location were the reasons for choosing this motel. Tea and coffee supplies were replenished during our 3-night stay. The motel is run down. The bedlinen was clean but the carpet was not particularly clean. The shower recess especially needs replacing.
- Alexander (9/5): Superb -
- Brett (3/5): Poor -
- Marc (8/5): Very good -
- Merliza (2/5): Felt unsafe - broken fire alarm and another occupant was screaming in the middle of the night. - Location The place is old, musty, and very dated; carpet was dirty., kitchen sponge was moldy wrapped in a plastic bag, it was disgusting. The dishwashing sachet was bone dry indicating it’s way past its shelf life. The stovetop needs replacing. The entire room smelled. It definitely needs a total revamp.
- Jones (7/5): Comfortable and Convenient - Convenient and well priced. Can be awkward to get out of via the Service Road.
- Steve (7/5): Good - Location very close to shops and lots of restaurants. Bed and pillows very comfortable (for my preference). Very little traffic noise despite being quite close to a major road
- Brian (4/5): - Run down and shabby
- John (7/5): Good enough -
- Joylene (4/5): Disappointing only good thing was location - Didn’t have breakfast Filthy cigarette butts laying outside rooms - one area was around 20mm in diameter
Lights in room not working (bedside light)
The fleuro light above the bed wouldn’t completely turn off-the only way to turn it off and on was to turn the tube by hand - very unsafe
Electrical wiring taped up with insulation tape
The back board at the head of the bed kept falling onto the bed - had to try to hold it up with cushions
Fluff and dust blowing out of air conditioner onto where you were supposed to make coffee or prepare food
- Yingying (7/5): Good -
- Tracey (7/5): Good -
- Craig (5/5): Passable -
- Ellie (2/5): - close to everything but this property is too aged. (broken shower taps, smelly room & ect)
- Bounce (9/5): Very comfortable - Good location, friendly staff, everything was excellent Nothing
- Gregory (2/5): - The property was totally misrepresented on the advertising available on the Expedia website. Why don’t you guys actually peruse a location before you choose to represent it in your app?
Going to delete your app and voice our unhappiness with friends
- Kelvin (8/5): - Reasonable value for money. Pleasant proprietor. Property is clean but run down.
- Carole (3/5): glad it was for only one night - the location was great, very close to shops and pub on the corner had fantastic meals. the property was very tired and dated, pillows were waffer thin. one of the beds had a large rip in the sheets.
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (7/5): Cheap and cheerful. Comfy beds, lots of space, close to the shopping strip. -
- Xinwei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): Nice and comfy super market and restaurants within walking distance - Everything None
- Les (5/5): Passable -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Lee (10/5): - The staff was great helped with a power issue we had straight away
- Alexander (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (3/5): Some work, health & safety issues. Needs better maintenance. - Light in kitchenette not working; too difficult to adjust hot/cold water in shower; hot water tap in shower came off spindle & I nearly suffered 3rd degree burns; torn carpet near entrance; sliding cupboard door out of alignment; tv not able to show SBS station and reception was varied;if your going to promote accommodation then I think you should be satisfied its fit for purpose.
- Ethan (8/5): Very good - Nice clean stay, happy to return if working that way again.
- Susie (4/5): - Old rooms , plenty of space. Would not recommend for any more than a night
