Guest Reviews
- Caroline (8/5): Great accommodation, best views, great to be first out on the piste in the morning, food ok - The location was amazing, even if the ski mobile ride up a little hair raising, views where great and view from our room the best we've had The food was basic and very carb heavy, no sign of veg or fruit, and as we were up a mountain it was difficult to go elsewhere to eat.
- Koen (6/5): - lokatie bedden
Velmi milý a ochotný personál v čele s majitelem Maxem. Obdivuhodná rekonstrukce bývalé stanice lanovky, která dává místu jedinečnou atmosféru.
- craig (9/5): Fantastic base for a ski break. Friendly and welcoming! - Stunning location,
- Maciej (10/5): Unforgettable mountain experience - We absolutely loved our stay at Tana Della Volpe. The most unique part is the overall experience: a hotel located right on the mountain summit at around 2,600 m, with truly breathtaking views in every direction.
Getting there was already an adventure — we were picked up from Sestriere Borgata by snowmobile, which made the arrival feel special and perfectly matched the setting.
Massimo, the owner, is very helpful and welcoming. The whole team is friendly, and they made us feel well taken care of throughout the stay.
If you’re looking for something more than a standard hotel — stunning scenery, a one-of-a-kind location, and a memorable journey — Tana Della Volpe is the place. Highly recommended! Nothing

- Joyce (10/5): We will return. I have recommended this hotel to all friends who are confident with red runs down. A unique and delightf - The location at the top of the mountain gave the most fantastic view, a unique experience. The staff were great and provided a wide variety of lovely food and drink. The snowmobile ride up with Massimo was very exciting. It was clean, comfortable and warm with excellent WiFi and charming decor. Being on top of the mountain restricts you. We had 2 days with high winds that shut the chairlifts that would bring us back up. We could’ve skied and waited till after 17:00 for a lift back up with Massimo but we chose to relax & admire the view.
- nina (8/5): - Die Lage unvergleichbar!
Personal großartig!
Preis Leistung unschlagbar! Relativ kühl
Essen recht einfach
- Yuliya (9/5): A unique hotel at the top of the mountain. - One in a lifetime experience, very unique and very beautiful.
- Olga (7/5): Good location, stunning views - Great location right on the mountain with stunning views and sunsets. The interior is very authentic, and it’s fascinating to explore all the little details. The staff was not very welcoming, and there seemed to be some issues with the dinners, the menu, and the speed of service. Everything would have been good if it hadn’t been for the disappointing experience during dinners.
- Christian (7/5): Good - Fantastic location at the top of the mountain
Fun to travel up the mountain on snowmobile
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets
Cosy with let fireplace with wooden logs
Friendly waiters Very simple breakfast which contains more cake than bread. The only bread available is hard white toast bread
Room was very dirty with big piles of dust in corners, under bed, furniture etc. Floor had not been vacuum cleaned or washed for very long.
- Brian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - It is an incredible location. Such a treat to be out on the slopes while the sun is rising and the lifts haven't opened.
- Prescott (9/5): Fantastic place, will come back a third time soon! - Views are absolutely stunning, and getting a full run in before first lift is great too.
We liked the wood fire in the lounge before and after dinner.
Continental breakfast, including eggs, was good - love the fruit tarts.
Room was comfortable Could have catered better for some dietary restrictions, they did better when we stayed here before.
Exterior lights came in through curtains at night.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Martin (10/5): Cozy - Very nice staff

- Lee (10/5): - Fantastic stay up on the mountain. If you want to be 1st on the mountain in the morning it’s perfect.
Massimo and his team are fantastic.
- Massimiliano (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): Amazing stay above the clouds - It was an amazing experience. We did not realize that we could not go up with the car (you need 4x4 SUV/Jeep). we got picked up by the owner. Enjoyed the amazing views the way up. Once at the refuge you have a great view from the restaurant over Sestriere. The room was fabulous. The food great. Local products. So happy we got to this nice place and meet nice people. nothing. Only realize you need a 4x4. Our Ford Puma rental was not the right car. You need a real 4x4

- Thomas (9/5): 2,600m up stay in an amazing location and building for experienced skiers. - The place is amazing - right at the top of the mountain. It's a speedy lift lift up to it, and the views, the red run down, the staff, the rooms, and the value for money are all great. But you are totally cut off from the town. The only way up is the ski lift when the lifts is open (with skis on) or on Massimo's ski-doo when the lift is closed. And having the first run down when the lifts aren't even open yet is a delight. Only go here if you don't mind being cut off. There's a blue run and a red run down. The blue was closed half way through our week, so if you are a beginner you will struggle on the red.
- Linde (10/5): - Excellent location Excellent service Excellent Food Cosy fireplace 🔥
- Verified traveler (10/5): Exceptional Little Gem! - Superb location. Skidoo transfer starts the excitement of the whole stay. The views are exceptional (each room has a superb view). The food and service were equally outstanding. The ski-range in this area was brilliant better than I have experienced.
