- Kimberly (8/5): Affordable, clean, well-run, family-friendly motel with some very nice touches. - Good value for the price. Spacious room. Very comfortable beds- excellent (firm, great pillows). Beautiful, well-maintained pool and backyard, which we overlooked from our balcony. It's an older motel being improved gradually. We appreciated that and all the efforts of staff, who were very receptive to feedback. Some issues with drainage of the shower (a complaint in a previous review) but it resolved completely with a few off/ons of the drain stop switch.

- Alex (7/5): - Motel style with the room door to the outside, fairly large room. Had both a sink in the bathroom and one in the entrance way. Breakfast was quite bad and the chairs in the common area were terrible, at least one was broken. Breakfast didn’t have any fruit, yogurt or anything healthy, just carbs. The overhead light for the sink in the common area was very loud with an electrical noise when it was on.

- Robert (4/5): Never again. - Carpet was not clean. Facility is in need of renovation. Key card had to be replaced several times. Heat pump and TV were not user-friendly. Built-in lights for reading did not work. Staff had excuses but no fixes. Housekeeping was sporadic at best. Breakfast was limited to cereal, muffins, and "make your own" waffles. Coffee was frequently empty.

Lots of chipping paint on baseboards, shredded carpet, light bulbs out, mattresses might as well have been prison-issue, massive cobwebs, etc.. You can hear everything from surrounding rooms. It was a total waste of $300.

The room stank of dirt so much that we had to leave door and window open for a long time. And the stink just came back anyway, as all furniture and carpeted floor were impregnated. The bed was and old spring bed quite uncomfortable. Everything smelled like saving money at the expense of the visitor. A crime, for about 400USD per night.

- Julie (5/5): A whole lot of nope! - The location and easy to get to the interstate. At check in they couldn't find my booking. The man on the desk didn't seem to know what he was doing and had to call a lady to help. They didn't speak and didn't tell us what was going on. The room was big but it is clear they have done some renovations and tidying of the property but it is still dated and worn in places. The room smelt frousty so we opened the balcony door to find a wasps nest. There were no chairs to sit on anyway. Lovely grounds well kept but for some reason they have dumped a massive metal storage container on the lawn which will be your view if staying on the ground floor! We passed on taking a shower, as my partner is 6ft 5 he couldn't stand up in the bath shower as the ceiling is lowered in that part of the room. That said I took one look at the shower curtain and there was no way I was getting in there! There is a pool, but we didn't even go look, as the shower and plughole hygiene had put us off. Not sure what was going on with the lampshades. They were new but all of them still had the plastic packaging wrap on them - this is a fire hazard! Breakfast was a very basic continental, one of the men had to restock coffee as people were complaining it had run out, he didn't speak to anyone. The apple juice tasted like water so I left that. On check out I was waiting at the desk and no one came, even though one of the men saw me from the breakfast area. I thought I'd at least have a polite chat to them to explain the issues and be asked about our stay. I gave up and told the lady cleaning the rooms who had helped with check in, that that we were checking out and to let them know there was a wasps nest on the balcony. We paid less, some almost half, for the same type of motels on our trip This one didn't even compare. Save your money, go somewhere else. No welcome, no goodbyes, no conversation. Not sure if it was a language barrier, but it comes across as no customer service.

Beds looked like the covers were just pulled up after the previous guest. Wall hair dryer was removed. The room was large and was the only positive comment I can give. Extremely overpriced for the condition of the room. Travel further for a better experience!

The wallpaper in places was peeling and the baseboards and door were beat up pretty bad and contributed to a poor impression. I don’t want to be to hard on the place as you can tell they are working on the property.

Walls need to be repainted. The grout around the bath tiles wrte black and not cleaned. Not clean. Disgusting.

Place was absolutely disgusting.

The toiletteries were not refilled from the last guests in the room, so only lotion and conditioner and no soap or shampoo. - Chris (6/5): They along dogs. That's it - Convenient location. Minisplit A/c worked well. Pool was well maintained. Allowed dogs MANY "sketchy" characters living there??? No sign to put out to decline room cleaning---but someone tried to come in, while I was getting dressed, without knocking. I replied "no cleaning needed"...but someone came in later while we were gone and replaced bath towels/soap. Did not make bed however, empty trash, or replace coffee.

The family-run business showed some loose ends here and there. Repairs of minor wear and tear was done as I might do at home, such as black gaffer's tape to patch split flooring.

- MikeBarry657 (8/5): Good location and value. - The Fairbanks Inn provides clean rooms, a good location and a good value in St Johnsbury. A very basic breakfast is provided. My room had a bit of a cigarette smoke odor, I think a former guest had smoked in it. I was tired and didn't want to deal with moving, so I didn't mention it. The hotel does have clear no smoking policies. The hotel is within an easy walk of restaurants in St Johnsbury.
- Linda Jane (10/5): - The room was very dirty. The bed look like it was used bedsheets with stains in it. There is hair in the tub the walls were filthy the trim needed a paint job very bad and it was disgusting the lock on the door I was broken luckily there was a deadbolt. I felt like I was staying in the Bates motel. I certainly would never stay here again.
- WILLIAM (10/5): - Nice big room. Nice and clean.
- Teresa (6/5): Pleasant - Nice, quiet, peaceful setting. Shower/bathtub did not drain well in rm 312, so taking a shower was like standing on the beach with your feet submerged in the water.
