Allison (10/5): Owner will work hard to make you comfortable - Here's the deal with this hotel-- the owner is running it on his own, and clearly working hard to do so. He really went out of his way to help us out in a pinch. We ended up booking this space last minute when our flight out of Jamaica was cancelled and we needed a place to stay in Montego Bay for the night. This lodging is near the airport. When we arrived, the owner was scrambling a bit to make sure things were set up-- i.e., the room needed toilet paper and bottles of water, which he went shopping to provide. (We had just booked the room about a half-hour before we arrived.) Later that evening, when I tried to order a pizza and was past the delivery deadline, the owner *literally* walked the mile there and back to pick up my pizza and bring it to me. He also helped me order it, as my phone was not dialing internationally for some reason. In the morning he had a driver ready to take us to the airport. The rooms were pleasant, clean, and ours had a patio that went directly out to a beautiful pool and hot tub situation. There aren't many bells or whistles here-- it's not a luxury place-- but it was a fine place to crash after a disastrous day of travel stress, we felt safe, we slept well, and I'd stay here again if the need arose.

My room said ocean view..nope...maybe other rooms better. Orange room patio is not good. Owner needs to get some things done here. The ac in this room continually makes a crackling sound like it going to breakdown. Doubtful ill be going back. Overpaid for sure. False advertising
rahsheena (4/5): - Upon arrival I was greeted I was given the purple room but the door knob was broken so they switched me to the green room. I assume the rooms hadn’t been used in a while so there was lots of dust. The pool & hot tub where unable to be used as it hadn’t been cleaned & the water was green. Was told that it would be cleaned Saturday but never was. You need a car if you stay here. A staff was nice enough to order us taxis to get to & from (they are expensive beware) the staff is very friendly & helpful but it comes at a price. When staff helped they expect some sort of payment with or without you offering. Day 1 asked staff to get me something I paid for, paid for their taxi & tipped, shared with the staff so I assumed we where even. On day 2 When walking to a shopping center I offered to purchase a drink for the help & a taxi for us back… ended up paying for the drink, liquor, a meal 😳 and the taxi for us all (they will order in patois before you order & have it added to your bill without permission) I took a taxi away & when I returned was asked for small amounts of $… day 3 I went in a excursion next morning we are leaving but before I can staff wanted to know if I had something to leave (although I had already gifted him I asked what he meant & he said like $20 at this point I’m annoyed because I feel like I’m being swindled! I gave 2,000 in Jamaican $ & left to keep the peace in front of my child. We never got any kind of breakfast or food not even a bagel or apple there😭

Shataysha (8/5): - The facility and amenities were very nice but it is far away from the beach and other touristy areas. You MUST taxi to any activity. The staff were helpful but did connect us to an overpriced cab driver who escorted us all around, waited for us but then charged an exorbitant amount. The facility itself was as advertised. Would recommend the facility.

Carnell (8/5): - Lovely house! Carvel and Simone were the host and hostess we met, and they were very nice. The room was large, homey and comfortable, and very clean. The property was being updated, so there were things that could've been better, but the necessities were there and there was continental breakfast in the morning. Coffee was delicious! For a few dollars extra, you can have a Jamaican breakfast cooked. There's a pool and a hot tub with a lovely view. Unfortunately, we arrived too late in the evening to use them, and we were only staying one night. While the listing says that there's a shuttle from the airport, it's not the property's. You have to get your own. Also, if you don't have a vehicle, you will have to get transportation to go anywhere away from the property. We booked it the same day we arrived..it was an emergency. That being said, I'd definitely consider staying here again, for a longer stay.

There was material for said construction on the balcony floor outside my room. The AC did not work, the whole property was hot, the pool was down, the orange room that was advertised as ocean view and i paid extra for does not have such a view I had to find another hotel at the last minute which took half my day because everywhere was booked out and check out time is at 3pm. The hotel is yet to put in a request for me to get a refund, even though I did not stay there. Completely disappointed.

Breakfast is a bagel and fruit and instant coffee, tea OJ or for for an additional $5 you may have traditional Jamaican breakfast. Facility is clean and comfortable Please understand you are close to beach shopping and airport but it is NOT within walking distance transportation is required for each outing. There is no pool or nightlife when at the guest house so if u come in early from outings there is nothing to do Staff is nice and friendly and make every attempt to accommodate
Ally (10/5): - The property was cute, clean and intimate. Very easy to find off the highway and the check in process was a breeze. The care taker was very accommodating and kind, the housekeeper Simone was also as sweet as they come and so graciously made my partner and I breakfast for a small surcharge. The property itself is very well kept and clean, the decor is traditional and quite romantic. A must for a quick weekend stay or if you are passing through.

She is very attentive to the needs of guest, she is knowledgeable of the do's and don'ts, also warm & friendly. The place is spotless clean, day after day. I was thoroughly impressed with how clean the tile on the floor was. Literally, when you arrive, you can eat off the floor or even see your own reflection. Quiet, safe and secluded neighborhood. A little distance away from the beach or attractions but not too far for a taxi. Two thumbs up to this place!

The breakfast we were charged $30 for was a banana and bagel. They only had tea and no coffee. The shower also did not have hot water. If they get that stuff together I would go back, but over all crappy breakfast and cold water not worth the money.

Ron (4/5): Terrible - I had the top floor suite ( black and white ) room ...... the bed was great .... it has a kitchen. But has a small refrigerator. You can only put a couple bottles of water in. Something that would be in a college dorm room. The internet and hot water never worked. U have to go down stairs to get internet. I was so disappointed in this place. No hot water and no internet .....i personally will never stay there again.
Kendra (6/5): It was ok, if you just want a place to sleep - My experience was ok, I wanted the black and white room but when I purchased the nights it showed all hotels taken except the blue and green room. So when I got there and it was no other guest all week till that Thurs. It was kind of strange and mystical to me. Made me feel a little uncomfortable to not see anyone or here anyone else in the place. If you didn't stay in your room it was unpleasant to just hang out in the open area because there was not air condition and it was so hot and humid. So it forced me to stay in my ac room. Continental breakfast was the same everyday which got boring eating pineapple, watermelon and a bagel. Hot water was not working in my room so I got moved to the blue room which I did not like at all! It was very dated with a spooky foggy mirror and a bathroom door with top half window which gave you no bathroom privacy. The sink had a big crack on it and the blinds were cut out around the door handle big enough to not have privacy at night if you had your light on. Stuck a pillow there every night to block the big opening.

No pool or any plans to put one in regardless of what ad says. 15 minute walk to shops. $25 ride to airport. No breakfast second day. Continental breakfast only includes instant coffee. Not good. Some Electric outlets didn't have covers and were a major hazard for kids.
Verified traveler (4/5): Montego Bay disappontment - It looked good on expedia but was a disappointment. Location required a taxi ride from airport to hotel for $30 and taxi to a restaurant and back for $50 and $30 to ship terminal next day so plan on an extra $100 plus expense if this is just an overnight stay on way to a cruise. Bathroom was small with just a shower/tub and toilet and sink in the room for us. This is NOT a resort type hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful but the "continental" breakfast was instant coffee and a bagel with cream cheese and a little fruit.Not worth the price and taxi fares!

Every time you go into town to eat, shop, or to Dr. Cave's beach it costs $40 round trip cash. We spent a fortune in taxi fares over our 7 days. The continental breakfast is fruit and a bagel, the extra $5 for Jamaican breakfast is nice to experience real Jamaican prepared food. The building is pretty and the staff is great, but there are some basic amenities that need to be addressed. We stayed in 2 rooms over 7 days and 6 nites. First the pros: friendly staff, home style bed and breakfast, pretty building, clean rooms, you are supporting local businesses instead of all inclusives, quiet residential area, front lawn is nicely gardened with many flowers and plants, balconies have ocean view. The cons: no brewed coffee, only instant coffee, a big NO in Jamaica, you cannot walk to town or Doctor's Cave beach and must spend $40 roundtrip which really adds up, public spaces in hotel were dark and hot and staff was reluctant to turn on lights or fans, light fixtures in both rooms either missing bulbs or not working, blinds were broken in one room, bathroom rugs in both rooms were wrong size and jammed the doors, no cups in bedrooms, back yard has a few trees but is an unlandscaped dirt area with debris, patio by breakfast area has no lounge chairs or tables for outdoor relaxation, shower fixture in one bathroom broken, and hot water is iffy. Khastle Khodero has great potential with some tender loving care.

Daydreamer (10/5): No Kardashian Sighting at the Khastle...Kool - Had to make an unplanned trip to MoBay for personal business, so beyond cleanliness and relative safety, location was immaterial. Large house with multiple rooms at a range of options and price. The place is beautiful, but could use some TLC. Staff I amazing!!! Gr8 breakfast choices. From the main balcony U can see the Sea....I believe that this is also true for some of the rental rooms. U must HAVE A CAR!!! Got dropped of at Margaritaville and taxi cost me $20 USD to get back. Would highly recommend this location if U have a layover or just want to be in MoBay the day before a flight out.

Verified traveler (10/5): Great property but suggest getting a driver or car - This was an amazing property. Well kept and maintained by Simone who not only takes care of the property but who also made sure that we were escorted everywhere we went, arranged for our transportation and cooked us a wonderful Jamaican breakfast. The property is off the beaten path, but Simone made sure we got where we wanted to go safely and efficiently. If one is saying for more than a day, suggest getting a car to get around.
Anne Marie (8/5): Convenient, clean Hotel - The breakfast option was not appealing or appetizing. They offer a Continental breakfast that leaves a lot to be desired, the coffee is not freshly brewed, it is from a package, the cream is also from a package, you have your choice of bagel or sliced bread with cream cheese and jam and 2 pieces of fruit and this is the option everyday. If you want eggs or a local breakfast they charge an additional $5USD per person, per day, I don't think that is appropriate, why don't they just include the charge in the rates and provide you with a proper breakfast period. They can find out from the guests the night before what they want for breakfast the next day, making it easier to prepare instead of offering you bread and two pieces of fruit. We had to leave the property after the second day to find a proper breakfast and the cost was way less than the $5USD, they were charging. They also need to place an iron and a board in each room you should not have to go hunting for one as that is inconvenient and the one they have on site desperately needs to be replaced. There should also be a mini safe in each room. The owner(s) of this property can certainly do better. The property is beautiful and impressive and you are well protected, but they can do more.
David (6/5): - The villa was very fancy. However it was located far from anything. You need a car. The wifi was weak and barely worked in my room. While the bedroom was air conditioned the rest of the house was hot.
NatashaExploresWorld (10/5): First Time and Great Experience at a Guest House in Jamaica - If you are looking for a posh residence in posh neighborhood, for a great price then you might want to consider staying here. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. The home is very nice and the grand staircase looks like something straight out of Hollywood. The breakfast was great and the owner was friendly, resourceful and very helpful. This is great location for natives like myself who return to the island and for visitors. The location is very close to Doctors Cave and other beaches. It's also close to the new highway which brings you to Falmouth where the cruise ship port is located and also other attractions like Dunns River Falls and Green Grotto Cave. There is a shopping center and Burger King right down the hill and the airport is a 10 minute drive from the property.
BenNeece (10/5): Komfort in Khastle Khodero - We had experienced an eventful & hectic week setting up our coffee trading company and, to our delight we ended the trip at the Khastle. We needed a certain level of quality to reward ourselves, but still keep it on a personal level. Fiyah and the rest of the staff were wonderful and attentive. Lounging on the front lawn was just what the Spanish Main Traders needed to end the trip. Real & Proper

Sashakaye (8/5): Great bed and breakfast ...wifi needs work - My stay was great here. I mistakenly booked a twin bed for my husband and I and the manager had no problem upgrading us to the penthouse room for no additional cost. The room was decorated beautifully and very quiet it had a balcony and steam showers. The hot water was minimal and the jet tube was temporarily out in this room but it was ok no biggy. They had great security at the front gaits. You had to upgrade to a regular breakfast for 5$ which was worth it. Could get a little pricey if you stay a lot of nights. The house ladies were awesome and accommodating. I Would stay here again.

natasha (10/5): Comfortable Stay at Khastle Khodero - We traveled to Jamaica for a funeral in the interior and decided to spend a few days on the touristy, focused north coast. I chose this property because it was affordable, close to the airport and was Jamaican owned. WE LOVED THE HOUSE and the neighborhood!!! We had a 2 bedroom suite on the second floor that accommodated four of us. Our room was clean and spacious; the owner and staff was extremely accommodating, resourceful, friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the authentic Jamaican breakfast. We were comfortable and felt at home. There is a shopping center with a supermarket and other stores within walking distance at the bottom of the hill as well as a Burger King. You will, however, need a car or taxi for transportation into town. Doctors Cave Beach and the Montego Bay Hip Strip is a short 10 minutes drive if you take the left onto the highway. Green Grotto Cave and other Jamaican north coast attractions are an hours drive if you take a right onto the highway. I am looking forward to staying on the property again during my next visit to Jamaica.
Jamil (10/5): Relaxsation - The property is very nice, very quiet getaway. The wifi could be better and if you run out of hot water call the front desk they have a power switch for instant hot water. Staff outstanding and I would recommend staying here to everyone.

We do encourage folks to rent a car to get around for long stay; Taxi for short stay is ok. The staff will help you to call the local taxi.We had a comfortable stay. Enjoyed our time. 114jasonf (2/5): HORRIBLE - Stay Away - I'm not too sure what the others were smoking when they wrote their reviews, but this place is an absolute dump! The rooms are old and in need of renovations; the shower in our room had no hot water because the lever was broken. The least they could do is clean a little. Let's just say that I slept with the lights on, since I was afraid that I would get attacked by cockroaches. The hotel is not close to anything, and the view is obstructed by trees... there is nothing good about this place. All in all, thank God I only stayed there for a night, because it was a disaster.

The staff was wonderful; especially Miss Cordella, who cooked the most wonderful Jamaican breakfasts EVER. She made us feel comfortable and right at home. Our experience was a 10. We will definitely be back.
Verified traveler (8/5): - if you're looking for a small comfortable hotel that is central to everything this is the place. Convenient to food and shopping, 10 minutes to the beach and nightlife. Get the jamaican breakfast. Note that there is no pool, stunning views from the rooms on the upper level.

Miss Cordell Thankyou for looking after us, Mr Allan and Mr Fya, you are such gentlemen. Professional, helpful and caring. You guys are such a bonus and I'm sure the owner knows He or She has found a gem in you all. Have recommended your establishment and if I'm back that way again, will most certainly come back.

Debra (10/5): four day weekend Business and R&R trip. - The home is located away from all the high traffic and public politics. It is very nice, clean the staff is excellent. The place is one of Montego Bay hidden treasures. Airport transportation not familiar with location, but experience cab drivers will find it. The air condition room was great. My room had an out doors balcony which was a real plus. The grounds were clean. The only area of concern for me is that the place would benefit from a ground pool. Excellent place to stay. I will definitely stay there again in the near future.

AGraham305 (8/5): A quiet relaxing villa tucked away inside Montego Bay! - I stayed here with my husband for 5 nights in the Blue room which was very comfortable and in a great location of the home. There are definitely more pros than cons. Pros - Incredibly friendly staff from the housekeeper to the security guard - safe and secure - clean with extraordinarily attentive housekeeper - rooms feel more like a room in your own home than a hotel - extremely quiet and relaxing - upgrade to the ackee and salt fish breakfast - housekeeper is an excellent cook - excellent air conditioning - HOT WATER and water 24 hours a day, this is not common for all parts of Jamaica that is not a resort - decent Wi-Fi Cons -the normal amenities you don't think you need, you actually may want such as a mini-fridge in the room or an iron ( they did have one for the entire villa to share). - It is far removed from the main road -- this can be a hassle if you do not have a rental car as taxis are not readily available on near the villa ( I strongly recommend that you rent a car STRONGLY). - the back yard is not complete, if you are not staying on the higher floors, you will be disappointed with your assigned balcony/patio The villa would have had 5 stars if they can work out the transportation concerns, that seem repetitive each review.

We weren't there very long but enjoyed the place. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent. We would stay there again.

Cons: the hot water temp/pressure was not good on the 2nd floor, the back courtyard was unfinished and it's a bit off the beaten path, so make sure to get the number of a good cab driver to pick up to go places (if you don't have a car)
dataminn (10/5): Excellent Stay At the Chaste - This is a lovely upscale home that has been converted into a bed and breakfast. The owners are not finished with the conversion yet and have significant plans for the outside, as well as attending to some interior issues, none of which will impact your stay. The property is set on a mountainside and has lovely views.. The entire surrounding area is most attractive. Our room was large and pretty with a nice balcony overlooking the Caribbean. The entire staff led by Trudy is exceptional. We could not have asked for more. We added the traditional Jamaican breakfast in the morning and enjoyed it very much. Trudy arranged for excellent transportation for us to Scotchies, a great and inexpensive authentic Jamaican restaurant where we had wonderful food and conversation with our fellow guests and driver. On the following day, she gave us a tour of the property and we viewed the penthouse suite, which was truly exceptional. She also arranged for transportation to our cruise ship. The price for our stay was most reasonable. It was a perfect pre-cruise stay! Note: Perhaps because the Khastle is relatively new, the taxi drivers and customs officials at the airport do not yet know it. Have the listing information with address handy while going through customs and have it for the cab drivers. With the address, the driver will get you to the right neighborhood where it will then be an adventure to find the home. There are few street signs in Montego Bay. After a little driving around, we did locate the home.
FJRaymond (6/5): Good and bad points - Firstly I need to say that our stay here was pleasant overall. Good points: Convenient location for access to amenities and town Mostly quiet location The house is dressed very well The staff are kind and helpful Very clean and comfortable Not so good points: Water pressure is extremely weak No welcome / info packs in rooms noting what time breakfast is and the options available or other info like local amenities or the wifi password etc, and other basic info 'Continental' breakfast is not good Towels are hard No blackout curtains in room we stayed in - not ideal when sunrise is 6am. Also not ideal for ease of dressing in the room. Blinds were also broken and didn't reach the floor - there was at least 2ft gap at the bottom of the blinds at the balcony doors. Overall, as a guesthouse / B&B I would rate this establishment 3 star (maximum) if judging by European standards. A lot more work needs to be done to bring the property up to the 4 star standard they have awarded themselves. The continental breakfast is substandard but the traditional breakfasts are good so I would recommend upgrading to that option. The wifi signal in bedroom was very poor but fine in common spaces. The villa is well presented at surface level but some fundamental infrastructure issues seriously need to be addressed.
nancyp635 (10/5): No better place to be snowed in - We came to Jamaica for a vacation and on the day we were scheduled to go back to New York, there was a blizzard which stranded us in Jamaica for another 5 days. We came across this gem of a place. We were met by Cordella, who was the sweetest woman. She was as beautiful and welcoming as the Khastle! She took care of us while I made endless calls to the airline to reschedule our flight. Whatever we needed, Cordella was right there to help! If you are ever in Jamaica, Khastle Khodero is the place to stay!!
470feliciah (10/5): Honeymoon - My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. It was nice and quiet, very relaxing. We actually left our first reservation to come here because the first place we went to was very nice but very loud. This bed and breakfast has amazing Jamaican breakfast! Trudi-Ann checked us in and she was very friendly, so was the housekeeper (Cordella). We would definitely come back here again!!
954parags (8/5): Great experience! - Pros - the service at Khastle is absolutely outstanding. Trudi-Ann did everything she could to make sure that we were very welcome into Khastle and Jamaica as a whole. She helped us arrange rides and made sure we felt safe. She even gave us a small surprise towards the end of our trip. This service also extends to her staff too. Her staff were very friendly and accommodating and did an excellent job of making us feel welcome. The price is very reasonable and definitely beats a lot of the hotels and resorts in the area. We only had breakfast once during our stay (timing didn't work out with our planned excursions), but it was very delicious. It was probably the few times in our trip where we thought we experienced real Jamaican food. Cons - The first night we saw a dead moth in our bed. This was definitely a bit unnerving (especially since we came from another hotel that had bug issues) and it wasn't the best first impression of Khastle. The room was a little bit smaller than we expected it to be. Fortunately this didn't have a huge impact on our trip, but we were just expecting it to be a little bit bigger. Getting to/from Khastle can be a little bit challenging. I wouldn't recommend walking back to Khastle at night (there are a few dogs roaming the streets nearby and these streets aren't very well lit). If you take a taxi from Doctor's Cave Beach it costs around $20 USD so it's not the worst thing. We also got cab rides back from Whittier Village (which is down the street) for about $5 USD. I would recommend Khastle to anyone who wants to take the "road less traveled" in Jamaica. Thanks Trudi for making our stay in Montego Bay very enjoyable!
