- Ralph Lauren (9/5): A hidden gem in Old Quarter: simple, comfortable, and surprisingly restful in a prime location - Bluebell Hotel turned out to be such a hidden gem in the Old Quarter. It’s pretty basic in terms of facilities, but I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The bed was really comfortable, and they had all the essentials I needed for a good night’s sleep.
The WiFi is reliable, and the air conditioning works well, which made the stay even more comfortable. I also liked the thoughtful detail of having a plug right above the bed—genius touch, especially if you like charging your phone while lying down.
You’ll hear the occasional motorbike passing by (as expected in Hanoi), but it’s manageable, and it gets noticeably quieter at night. I slept well throughout my stay.
The location is a huge plus. It’s literally just a short walk to St. Joseph’s Cathedral, so getting around the Old Quarter is super easy. Very strategic, and great value for the price.
I really appreciated that the owners let me store my luggage while I traveled outside Hanoi. It's such a thoughtful and convenient service.
Honestly, I liked it enough that I'm planning to book it again for my next trip to Hanoi.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend Bluebell Hotel if you’re looking for a simple, comfortable, and well-located place to stay in Hanoi. It’s not fancy, but it’s practical, reliable, and honestly very good value for money.

- Elle (6/5): Camera 1 stella ok - C'era tutto l'essenziale. 1 acqua a testa ogni giorno. Servizio di pulizie giornaliero. Aria condizionata. Frigo. Bollitore.

- Gopal (1/5): Screw you and screw you dead - The location is good ; was here few months ago; I got a very good double room but this time I really got cheated I booked a double room but instead got standard double room ; staff at hotel really cheated me and the amount I paid ; why the owner earns this kind of money; you people won’t prosper if keep on doing this
- Katsiaryna (9/5): Recommend. Clean , simple, great location, worth money - This place is right at the heart of Old Quarter, great location. Stuff is very helpful. The rooms are simple but clean and has hot water. I enjoyed my stay for the money I payed to stay right at Old Quarter A bit noisy but this is Old Quarter area
- Ouchayn (8/5): Very good - I spent a few days at this hotel and loved everything about it. The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and the hotel was very clean. The only downside was that the bathroom was a bit small, and they didn't provide complimentary water. Overall, a great stay!
- May (1/5): If I paid a little bit more, I could get a much better experience. - Only the location was good. Wifi wasn't working at all. The bathroom water gets out to the bedroom.
- Miker (10/5): Exceptional - My stay at Bluebell Hotel was simply delightful! The charming ambiance, impeccable service, and convenient location made for a memorable experience.
- Anlamaz (10/5): Exceptional - The staff at Bluebell Hotel went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. Their warmth and hospitality were truly remarkable.
- Botha (10/5): Exceptional - Bluebell Hotel's location in the city center makes it easy to explore on foot. Plus, the hotel offers bike rentals for guests who want to venture a little further afield.
- Hannah (10/5): One of my favourite accomodations in all of Vietnam! - I cannot believe, I almost didnt book it due to some of the reviews here. It is basic (this is, what you book), but:
- clean, bright (window) and spacious room with fridge, hairdryer, kettle
- hot shower
- super helpful staff
- location
for a more than fair price!
- Jordan (7/5): Good - Very good value for money and great location
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Good location, within walking distance to what we wanted to see. Room was simple but clean and comfortable. Staff organised transport to the airport for us
- Marta (8/5): Very good - Very close to everything in Hanoi. They had scooters and bikes available for rent at the accomodation. They made special arrangements for us when we needed to check in past midnight. The bed was very soft so we found it uncomfortable.
- Luba (7/5): Good - good location, has everything you need, also a kettle and bathroom accessories. mattress covered with polyethylene . The polyethylene crunches when using the bed and is not hygienic. The water from the bathroom leaks into the room, there is no elevator.

- Matthew (8/5): Good stay. - location nothing much.
- Gacer (10/5): All is good. Really nice staff. approachable and kind. ammenities are pretty fine. - really nice staff in the hotel. my door know was kinda damage. but it is still functional. i wish it didn’t have damage because it hard to open and close the door for me. But nothing too much to expect because the price of the room is lower compared to others.
- An (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (8/5): Good Value and location - Good location. Room clean. Good value Not really anything to complain about. It was an okay stay.
- Matthew (7/5): Good value, acceptable. - Good value, location, worth the price. Good location. The room is fine, its a private, small hotel room, with windows, and AC, and a fridge also. They are running a separate motorbike business downstairs but TBH i didnt have a problem with this its still a good value/price.
- Alan (1/5): dirty horrible grease and engine oil everywhere they were fixing motorbikes in the front folly - nothing everything
- Zillah (7/5): Acceptable budget accommodation - The room was very bright, it had two lights which worked well together. The windows opened for a bit of airflow. The room had both aircon and a fan, and the mini fridge worked well. There was always a member of staff downstairs if you needed them. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to everything in the old quarter. We booked 2 nights here because the hotel we wanted to stay at was full, but we did extend as this one is OK for the money and we deemed it not worth the hassle of moving for 2 more nights. The room description is not accurate. There is no kettle, or tea and coffee making facilities. There is also no TV. I asked the staff about this and they said no rooms have these facilities, and the description has probably not been updated since the refurbishment (though I note the photos are current). I would suggest that they need to update the description. The bathroom door doesn't close properly which means the water from the shower gets out into the bedroom and the bathroom fan is not very good so the room smells fusty most of the time - even though we had the window open 24/7. The WiFi is not good at all. The bed was incredibly soft, bit like sitting on a marshmallow, and not at all comfortable.
- Cian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Nice budget space in OQ - I like that it’s close in the OQ and you can walk to everywhere. It’s a budget hotel, so it’s very basic but as a minimalist that’s perfect. Staff are sweet. It’s nice spot to stay if you want to feel like a local. Showers are ok.
- Will (8/5): Very good - cheapest private room we could find in old quarter
good location very basic rooms but worth it for the cheap price
- Guy (1/5): Worst staff I've ever met - The sign was OK I suppose. Booked online. Arrived to check in. The man on duty whilst glued to his phone (playing a game like a 7 year old child) told me they were full. I tried to explain that I had a booking already but (still glued to his phone without breaking his gaze) again told me they were full and that I can talk to booking.com if i don't like it. Rudest person in hospitality I've met. Awful representative for the company so can only assume he either owns the place or is family as anyone hired acting in that capacity needs to find a new line of work far away from customers, public, or civilization...absolute d*ckhead of a man. I didn't stay there, obviously, so not sure how the actual place is, but there's a million other places closeby that can't possibly have anyone as bad as that nob working there so give them a go instead.
- Cameron (8/5): - Guy running the place was great . Made several calls for us to get quick taxis ,& Ha Long Bay tour set up with hotel pick & drop. Bed was decent , a/c worked good, & shower was good. Has bigger bikes for rent .
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angelique (10/5): Exceptional - Really helpful friendly staff, great location, very cozy and comfortable! I'll definitely stay there again!
- Daniel (1/5): Bad -
- Nick (10/5): Pleasant Stay in Hanoi's old quarter - Easy to use.
Great staff.
Very cost effective. The shower in my room,
Hot and cold are the wrong way round, but once you figure it out, it's a great little wet room
- Pedram (8/5): Very good -

- Pedram (8/5): Very good - Good central location , great value 👍 Dirty bedsheets, very uncomfortable bed ,ac dosent work great and is very loud
- Sachin (1/5): Bad -
- Thi (7/5): it's ok - It's ok for the price, the opposite site is a delicious crab noodles stalls. Staff was quite nice, we asked for helping to carry the luggage and they didn't hesitate to help us The room is not really clean. It's quite old! but it's suitable for that cheap price

- Kirsten Preem (8/5): Nice staff, great location, not so comfortable - The staff was very kind and let us in at 6 am to sleep in a used room that had not yet been cleaned while we waited for our room to get ready. Our room was clean but the bed was hard, and the AC-remote was in Chinese (but it did work). In general I would recommend for a few days in Hanoi, especially considering the price (about 350.000 VD).

- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay hotel in good location! - The bluebell hotel in Hanoi is in an excellent location especially for travellers, close to many restaurants, cheap eats and vendors but also a very short walking distance to landmarks such as Josephs Cathedral, the lake and "the hanoi hilton" - all in the old quarter. The hotel itself was a little run down, it was an okay price for our budget so i hate to complain too much but the room was basic and need of a make over. It had damp, broken furniture and springs sticking out of the mattress on one side. The room was predominantly clean yet a few issues with hairs in bed and blocked in the sink which was obviously just a little oversight but still is not very nice. The manager/owner were friendly and welcoming and were happy to give any advice or even talk cruises tours etc but i have to add he takes photos of passports on his personal mobile which i was a bit uncomfortable about. I understand hotels take copies and store hem safely during stays, its just i personally was uncomfortable at the thought of that photo or phone getting into the wrong hands and thought it was unprofessional. Overall the hotel was okay, just there is room for improvement, its simply the photos sadly did not match the reality yet if you don't mind imperfections the location really does make exploring Hanoi City a lot easier.
- Rory (6/5): Great Location and staff, uncomfortable beds - Great location and friendly staff. The beds were quite hard. We stayed in 2 seperate rooms as we came in and out of Hanoi going to Halong Bay and found both beds were quite hard and not overly comfortable. In terms of value for money, it would be hard to beat this place for its location.
- Henni (10/5): Nice stay in a really good area - We stayed in Bluebell hotel for 4 nights and we liked the place it was definitely ok. Room was small but quite clean, wifi and aircon worked perfectly. Bed was confortable and the local area is great. There are a lot of restaurants, supermarkets and most of the main attractions are in walkable distance. Staff is really friendly
- Iz (2/5): worst customer service - So i booked this hotel for 1 night a short time before showing up and I did not show up in there systeme, well honestly no problem for me I can wait, we can fix that. the solution they found tho was abit special, the owner came around and said that someone had an accident and he wanted the room longer. ( does not explain why i did not show up in the system, coincidence ?) so okay they relocate me to a nearby hotel, im okay with that if its the same value. Well they shove me in a terrible hotel where staff had no english skill, they wanted to keep my passport for some reason, no photocopy machine. Well okay i can deal with that but after trying to talk to the guy at the desk, he ask me to pay ?? well i'm like i paid the other hotel, they pay you... so after waiting 10 min he says okay they pay you are good, not has clear he did not speak english. this morning i call my uber and go check out, the night guy ask me for money, my UBER wait outside 5 min while i try to explain the other hotel pay and i need to go get my plane. well anyway i feel like bluebell hotel ripped me off, lied to me, and did not assure i would have an easy and good stay in the other hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was great. Close to food, markets, and attractions. However, we booked a double size room and the bed was closer to the size of a single, very hard for two people to sleep on and the beds were very hard.
- Donald James (8/5): - This is a nice area right by the river. While the hotel was clean both nights the area in front of the hotel was used as a garbage sorting area... Not cool. There are some very nice bars on the river front street.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice - It's a nice hotel, except sound-proof is not good. I can hear everything outside.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible hotel experience on ha noi, the room was very old and not clean
- Nicholas (2/5): Not of a good standard for money - No elevator or offer to take baggage to room, no breakfast and I am sure it was advertised, non existant lobby, this is my third visit to Hanoi and I have stayed in many hotels for the same price that were far superior, I do not consider myself fussy but this hotel was pretty basic. would not recommend.
- Todd (6/5): Ok for a couple of nights - Rock hard beds. Shower that isn't even warm. Staff always bugging you to buy a Halong bay cruise through them.
Ok for a couple of nights. Stay on a lower floor
