Guest Reviews
- Yolanda (4/5): - Location is good and not so good, depending on what people appreciate -very close to a metro station and to the B Bintang Pavilion (mega mall), also facing a very busy street next to an all-night super loud karaoke venue. The place is ran down, in disrepair, grungy, musky. The photos completely misrepresented the place. Would not recommend it to my friends.
- Siew Weng (4/5): not good - not good
- Eileen (6/5): - Close to excellent dining.
Very noisy at night.
- Dr (8/5): Good location - Location was great. Only problem is the noise outside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - was very convenient near food and drink streets. good staff
- shirleylingslzy (2/5): WORST AND SCARIEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! ENDED UP GIVING IT UP AND BOOKED ANOTHER HOTEL ROOM - I was deadly scared to see one massage shop just next to the hotel, with so many female stuffs handing out flyers asking if the passers-by are interested in foot massage. You may say I was stereotyping but the massage shop was so dark with so many "red tang-lungs" at the building exterior. And also because by the time I reached there it's already night time, it looked scarier to me. I calmed myself down until I saw one lady lazed on one sofa next to the reception counter, with very sexy outfit (it seemed like she was not even wearing any bras). I was scared to death wondering if it was a hotel for some "dirty trade", somemore with massage shop next to it.
But I didn't read any of this on agoda reviews, only saw one review mentioning about "the staff was not hot enough". I don't know if I should judge about this. But the hotel really seemed very scary to me, so ended up I gave up the original booking (which I had already paid) and booked another hotel instead.
Just advising everyone to always read reviews on a few websites before booking cheap budget hotels.
- Gobind (2/5): Alor a bad experience - Firstly hard to find entrance, than receptionist was
very rude, we have to climb two stairs with heavy
bags, than cockroaches in the room crawling all over
Check out time another lady was nice and helpful
- syktyee (6/5): - fair for the price to stay.....
room needed to refresh in paint work.....
stuff are friendly and helpful when requested.....
- thomastklim (6/5): Budget Hotel at Jalan Alor - I was attracted to book at this hotel because of the great photo advertised. Actually the entrance of the hotel is so tiny I miss it at first. The foot massage shop next to it was much more bigger. The hotel have four level if you include the staircase going up to the hotel. If you have bulky luggage I advice you to stay at level 1 as it has no elevator. Room is just like a budget hotel without any towel soup and shampoo provided. The attraction is it is located at Jalan Alor and near the Bukit Bintang MRT. You you love it if you are a night life person because it is still very noisy even at 2am. It still consider value for money if you only require a place to sleep.
- Euroz (4/5): Never sleep alone - If you like not to sleep alone, this is for you. Because you will have many cockroaches for company. The Alor is an old and dirty hotel, that could do with some serious pest control. I am not a fussy guest, but he animals are everywhere, in your shower, in your tea cup. I have not really found out yet what the reason for word "Boutique" is in this hotels' name, other than making it sound fancier than it is.
Though, the Alor is at a fantastic location and relatively cheap. But it is also very noisy.
- NickS814 (8/5): great location - needs a make over - Stayed here for three nights in September 2017.
Great location, on the corner of Jalan Alor in Bukit Bintang.
Close to all the street food, MRT and other transport links.
Super easy to travel around KL from this location, it's very convenient.
Hotel is very budget style but everything works ok in the room we stayed in (shower was hot, air-con worked ok, seemed pretty secure, 24 hour reception but no safety deposit box)!
Needs a thorough cleaning, a lick of paint would not hurt either, could do a lot more to the internal environment to make it look a lot more modern , clean & cared for - this really would increase the value & cared for look.
If you are on a budget & don't mind the run down state/ cleanliness then go for it, you will find it fine to stay here
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I already wrote a review immediately after my stay that Orbitz changed and didn't post. Wasted my time.
Anyways, good hotel!
- Pepeto1351 (8/5): Worth it - After bad experience on dirty hotels, what a pleasure to find a clean and good hotel on the perfect location! Most of hotels in this area are a little less expensive (or same price) but they don't worth even 50 Ringits.
Located on the north corner of jolor Street, this hotel has spacious room (Queen deluxe), clean and comfortable bed, good big flat TV with beinsport channels.
At 300 Ringits the 3 nights, it worth it. (110/night is weekly normal price).
- Benjie (10/5): Pleasant Budget Hotel - My first time in KL and I'm glad that I stayed in this hotel. It's located in a busy area that's perfect for tourists and right beside the MRT and street know for dining.
Hotel staff were very friendly and were always happy to offer information. The condition of the place was ok. Just imagine the rooms as shown plus 6-8 years of usage (and neglect). Sure, a previous guest may have had a wonderfu timel painting his/her nails and left a mess for the next 10 guests to see....but I don't mind.
Deapite this, the room was mostly clean and was pleasant to be in. Air conditioning worked fine and the complimentary water was nice.
Again on locarion: very close to popular nightlife area and shopping malls. All-in-one, I'd stay here again.
- jasonstama (6/5): Location great, everything else average - Wanted to stay in the heart of Chinatown and this was on the steps of Jalan Alor with all of it's food market options. Unfortunately the rooms did not cut out the sound though, and with the markets closing up around 2am, which the construction resuming about 5am-6am in the morning - this made for a terrible, sleepless few nights. The staff weren't too helpful or friendly and the place wasn't very clean. I expected more from a boutique hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cozy and comfortable - Itr was great. It was the F1 weekend and the whole place was buzzing.
- Mar (2/5): Not recommend . - Room condition was very bad. Aircon filter is filled with dust at all. No cleaning is done. My skin allergic immediate turns red the moment I on the aircon. Bed sheets is dirty too and also bath towel.
Strongly not recommend.
- Farah2002 (6/5): Good only for location - The location is quite good, the hotel near bukit bintang and alor street, where there are many food stalls in the night. Generally this hotel is not clean, bad smoke smells along the corridor. The room is average clean. No lift in this hotel so if you are with luggage, it will need big effort to bring it to the upper floor. Not suitable if you are with children.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Can consider to stay again. - enjoyed the stay
- Michael (4/5): - No elevator, noisy, you booked deluxe room ended with standard room. Should be rated two and 1/2 star.
- WongF (6/5): Too Noisy - The twin room and the triple room are small but enough. The room of second floor are better than the room of first floor.
The room is clean but have some worms and ants in rooms on the first floor. It should be improved. The rooms (Room 01-04) where face to the church are very noisy at mid night. Can't sleep well in these rooms.
On the other hand, many women on the street or stand outside of hotel.
- Antonius (6/5): Goods for food - Hotel was very standard.
Only bed, ac, bathroom with towel and soap.
This hotel great for food and nightlife.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel managed by two ladies - Good staff Ms Lee and Gina very good service
- Julian (6/5): - Wifi didn't work in the room
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel was dirty and the room smelled cigarette, we had to change to another hotel 20 minutes after we arrived
- vivin_andhika (8/5): small comfort hotel - it is a very strategic hotel, but it is hard to find for the first time since the name board is put quite high. the room is quite small but clean and comfort. the shopping malls, food courts and other attractions are in walking distance.
- YOGENDRAN (10/5): Cozy Worthy Boutique Hotel in Bukit Bintang - Excellent convenient and cozy. Reasonable price good staff very accommodating.
- jj2604 (2/5): Worst experience - no amenities such as soap & shampoo. wifi isnt working so I cant access to the internet during my stay. only has 3 tv channel such as: chinesse, football and english news and the other channel was no signal. many ants in wash basin around my toothbrush. hard pillow makes my neck little bit sick. no lift, even it is 3* hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place welcoming and memorable - Welcoming and helpful staff safe, clean, maintained place.close to food and shopping centres.walking distance to mAny attractions in kl.busy street view through window.
- MsSoloTraveller (6/5): Awesome Location.Budget hotel. - Alor Boutique entry hotel is located up a small set of stairs next to the convenience store, a little tricky to find in the rain & solo but I got there eventually. I booked night before as to allow super early check in (caution! some hotels cancel booking if you do not show by a certain time so communicate and check conditions).
Check in was hassle free and I was even assisted with my luggage (not typical). I stayed on 1st floor over looking Jalan Alor. This can be very noisy (bring earplugs), but din't bother me and I loved opening the window and watching the daily life.
There is no fridge in room but small jug for coffee ( I got small milk daily).
Bedding & linens clean but older and greying from age. Room and bathroom clean but age is noticeable and poor ventilation leads to some mould patches. Bathrooms are washed out with hose so beware your toiletries on or around sink may be saturated!
Location to Jalan Alor and all the hawker stall, fresh Roti Cennai across the road for breakfast and in the hear of Bukit Bintang for shopping.
I paid RM50 for late checkout of around 6pm (maybe 5pm?) and it was excellent as I had a late flight. I will stay again!
- Sandra (8/5): - In one sentence, we are very happy with what we paid for.
+ Alor street is just downstairs, we can eat and relax til whenever we want. All attractions in Bukit Bintang, Imbi and KLCC are within walking distance. What a perfect location!
- room without sound proof, no shampoo, rather low water pressure. However, for us, considering what we paid for, no problem at all.
- yuricrona (6/5): Great Location but dirty - I found this hotel as my last minute, on the spot to extend my stay after working. The room quite small, and one of the pillow was very damp yet hard as rock. It has ensuite room along with few little roaches. I'm already getting used to see roaches so not really shocked. As long I didn't see their big, flying parents.
The location itself is on exact intersection of jalan alor. You won't miss the sign. However took me a while to locate the entrance. It's beside the MyNews mart. Note this hotel doesn't have elevator, so it must be painful to carry your big luggage to 3rd floor as I did.
The good thing beside location is helpful staff. He helped me to find a cab since their usual partner quite busy. He even walk outside to the taxi pool and bargained the fare.
- 302kateb (2/5): Cockroaches - Very disappointed with my last visit, have been here many times before and has always been pretty good but the cleanliness has really gone down hill, the bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned for quite some time and the whole room was just grubby! There were small
Cockroaches running all over the floor and up the wall, we sprayed the room but it made no difference, we asked to change rooms but we were told that there would be no point as all the rooms had the same problem and it was because there were so many restaurants in the area!!! We checked out 3 days early, no chance of a refund from the of course as we book through Expedia, they offered no apology and couldn't seem to care less, we went to the alpha genesis around the corner, far superior and next to an awesome indian, yes it is in a good location but I won't be back
- moreasia2015 (8/5): Heart of the city. - Great location,
helpful staff,
average rooms, smallish,
but the view out of them is un-comparable for this price: the Petronas towers (at least from one side of the hotel), and a lively - romantic even - street filled with food vendors, tourists, locals, cats and vampires.
- abbie050279 (8/5): Stay at Kuala Lumpur... - Let me share my experiences here:
Pro
- so close to the city center... had a good morning walk to the famous Petronas Tower..
-you 'll never get hungry in the middle of the night...because street infront of this hotel is full of resto and food stalls.
-taxi queue just right outside the building.... locally they call it "teksi"..
-you can easily buy your basic needs because there are convenience stores downstairs.
-bed and bedding's clean..
Cons
- no lift.... we have a pretty heavy luggage that we had to carry to the 2nd floor... and mind you, the staffs didn't bother to help us even my kids...
- coin-big hole right above the ceiling in the shower area.got paranoid coz it felt like someone's peeping... had to find something to cover it.
- plantheglobe (8/5): Clean hotel in good location. Staff horrible and will not help you! - This hotel is clean and in a great location, next to a quaint street that I may never have found if I didn't stay here. The street this hotel is on has tons of restaurants and great light decorations! This hotel is also very close to the main Kuala Lumpur city center.
However, the staff at this hotel is horrible! I love staying at hotels that will help you map out what activities to do, tell you about sites and attractions that you may not have read about. The staff at this hotel simply just answered "I don't know" to every single question we asked them. It is a shame because this hotel is clean and in a great location, but the staff really sort of ruins your experience.
So if you stay here, research everything you want to do beforehand because the hotel staff will definitely not help you!
- iqbale (6/5): Budget right in centre of bukhit bintang - Firstly this is a budget hotel. Expect other residents to be different from you and can look odd. It is a ckean and basic hotel. NO LIFT!!! Narrow stairs.
It is good for the single budget traveller travelling light. Prepare 50 ringits deposit for key card.
Food all around you. Hawkers all around. Noisy. Short Walking distance to malls and pubs coffee shops etc
- genie_jennie (6/5): Strategic Location and Affordable Price to stay @ Bukit Bintang - I stayed in this hotel for 3 night with my family. The room size was quite big for 5 members (i rent 1 extra bed). The location was so good and strategic, which is in front of alor food street and walking distance to shopping mall area (bukit bintang) so i enjoyed stay in here. The staff was very helpfull and fluent in english. The minus only there is no LIFT in this hotel but if you get the 1st or 2nd floor its okay. The room & bathroom was clean enough. If you want a affordable price hotel, good location, good ambience, culinary trip, shopping trip and I recommend to you to stay in this hotel.
- Galvo1 (6/5): Good location, average hotel - The location of the hotel is good, being near Jalan Alor with the night food markets. The hotel reception is small and there is no elevator, but as we were on 1st floor, that was no problem. As we walked into the room we could smell stale smoke. There is no mini bar fridge, the TV had English programs and the air conditioner worked. Bathroom was a bit small – no bench space, but clean.
The bed was small – and I am not really that tall. Our room overlooked the street and the biggest issue was the noise form the street – loud vehicles and people shouting kept me away most of the night. Next morning I was so tired (But I did sleep well the next night).
Fair for the price.
- Dezveereva (8/5): Great location, cheap, clean. - I had stayed for 1 night and find this hotel more than i expect when i booked the room online.
Location is great and safe (i have seen 2 polices on the other side of the street). Many stalls still open till late night, easy to find foods, some souvenir shops, reflexology, and the staff is friendly as well. The room is clean (we stay in 1 single + queen size beds). It has hair dryer inside the bathroom, no bathtub, but it is very clean and new. i found some trouble about the sink but i can fixed it by myself using spoon. It has mini market beside the hotel (actually it is in the same building).
Minus parts : you have to be careful when taking the stairs, it is very noisy until late (the room doesn't have soundproof) *hardly sleep well.
