Guest Reviews
- Robert (9/5): Very friendly, helpful staff - Excellent location
- Caitlyn (8/5): Old school B&B in a great location - The property was conveniently located with a sea view above a pub right in the centre of Deal. It is an old school B&B which suited us for what we wanted. As I booked through booking.com unfortunately I did not get the complimentary breakfast which you get if you book direct otherwise you have to pay to add it on.
- Richard (3/5): Room was OK but not value for money and as i did not have power in the main room would not be return - neat and tidy there was no power in the main bedroom . Very poor
- Bruce (9/5): Great stay and we loved Deal - Great position on the sea front great staff and landlord
Room had all equipment
Comfortable beds
Great shower All ok
- Karon (9/5): Great location, excellent price - Great location, good price, clean and bright No thing!
- Micheal (9/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): - The bed was sooooooo comfy! And great sea view
- Peter (6/5): Great location, lovely old pub, rooms need refurbishing. - Lovely old pub, excellent seafront location. Rooms were in need of refreshment. Dated fixtures and fittings and a long way from excellent by current standards.
Also, beer at £7.50 a pint made for an expensive round.
- Awkgolf (8/5): -
- Tony (10/5): great relaxing weekend , good advice , great atmosphere and good people - location nothing at all
- Henk Overmars (9/5): -

Nice pub and very friendly atmosphere
Excellent breakfast
- ronald (9/5): Comfortable, good location, super staff - Cosy, very English pub/ restaurant Height in the room too limited for a tall guy as I am
- Samantha (9/5): Great place to stay - The room, the view, the ease. Room was a little bit hot overnight
- Alexandra (9/5): -
- Monica (10/5): - Super friendly and professional staff.
Top location and quiet room ( in May ) ( considering is just above the pub) Nothing !
- Davis (7/5): -
- James (8/5): -
- Anne (7/5): Nice view! - Good location with a great view of the pier and sea. Room was pleasant enough. No help with taking bags upstairs and we were told no breakfast was included because we booked through booking.com (if we’d booked direct it would have been included).
- Simon (9/5): - Very comfortable room with an excellent sea view. Food was good too
- Peter (8/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): Great spot for visiting the seaside - Good location lovely views and great pub The steps to room were difficult to navigate
- Alison (7/5): Pleasant and comfortable - Within walking distance of the town centre and any number of cafes and restaurants. Beach over the road! Staff were very friendly. Despite the sunshine it was quite cool but the room was toasty. The food wasn't brilliant but there are plenty of options within a short walk. Rooms were comfy but needed a bit of TLC. The rooms were in a separate building adjacent to the Kings Head which was OK but unexpected.
- Stephen (10/5): Thanks to Graham and the team. - Location and style were great. Nothing.
- mark darren (10/5): -
- Ruth (8/5): A pleasant pub/hotel and we would stay there again - A good breakfast but not included in the booking.com rate so we paid for separately. We would have their breakfast if we stayed there again The room was good but up a couple of flights of stairs as no lift available. We will remember to ask about this in our future bookings anywhere, now that we are getting older
- Alex (10/5): - Excellent location,staff,rooms,cleanliness . Can't fault it Nothing
- Karen (10/5): - Great hotel great location

- Victoria (9/5): Great stay would stay there again! - Lovely big room, clean and comfortable
- Anna (10/5): Comfortable stay - Large room with sea view. N/a
- William (7/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Lovely staff, great location - Great location The annexe room was very nice but a little noisy during the evening due to proximity to pub

The proprietor and staff
- James (10/5): Excellent location lovely staff food excellent can’t wait to return in the Summer - Excellent location
We stayed in room 10 in the Channel Sea house just a few yards from the Old Kings head
The room was clean and Shower was very good
TV had a few problems with the streaming services but BBC iplayer was ok
We ate in the Old Kings head on two days of our visit and I must say the Sunday Lunch was excellent especially the Roast Potatoes
The Staff were very friendly and very helpful
We would not hesitate to stay here again Everything was fine
- Janie (8/5): Lovely characterful traditional pub/hotel. Great location. Would stay again for a weekend. - Location was perfect, right opposite the sea. Steep stairs to the bedroom were challenging - especially with luggage.
Bedroom and bathroom doors were dated - not in a good/charming way - they let down the rest of the room, which had great comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Bathroom was cold though.
- Samantha (10/5): Really happy with our stay and sure we will repeat. - Breakfast was excellent but not in rate- we liked that. Very comfy bed and quiet on this particular night anyway. Shower was great. Happy to be in the guest house separate part and not the pub, as really appreciated the quiet atmosphere. nothing really
- James (8/5): Simply very good. - Straight forward good quality provision. The room had everything I wanted though my needs are simple. Graham Stiles remains a top quality host. It was good value though I know the price increases at peak times. Nothing in particular
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic comfortable room. Great value - Great location. Excellent room. Large and spacious. A great shower. Amazing sea view
- Matt Williams (7/5): - Location, value, bathroom, clean Bed a bit soft and springy for my liking. But overall a comfortable stay.
- Andrew (10/5): Comfortable, friendly, great value for money - Comfortable, clean, warm rooms. Excellent breakfasts. Wonderful staff. No onsite parking but we knew that when booking and the suggested parking was absolutely fine.
- Gareth (10/5): Easy weekend away - Straight on the front, great location Nothing it was amazing
- Mark (10/5): Perfect short term break location and accommodation. - Great pub, excellent accommodation (clean and a great shower), excellent service from Graham and his team.
We were made to feel very welcome, breakfast was excellent as were our meals each evening.
Location was perfect. None of the garish amusement arcades and burger bars that blight so many coastal resorts. I imagine parking can be an issue during busy weekends - but that's the same in every popular coastal location that is worth visiting.

- Eleonore (9/5): Great stay in Deal - The location is perfect, right on the harbor. The seaview room was very nice with a beautiful sunrise over the beach. Bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was great and clean. The breakfast was filling and not bad but also not impressed and quite pricey for what is was.
- David Raymond (9/5): A quick stop in Deal. The accommodation is in a great location with direct views to the channel. - Great location, comfortable room, friendly staff, very clean & great shower!
- Singh (10/5): -
- phil (8/5): - Location , clean , comfortable
- Phil (10/5): - The staff are friendly and helpful, and the large, spacious room is really clean. I paid extra for breakfast, and it was definitely worth it; it was a really enjoyable stay.
- robin (8/5): -
- Emanuel (10/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Amazing room and facilities, great sea view and wonderful breakfast. - The location of The Kings Head is exceptional and the breakfast was too. Nothing
- Guest (8/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Can’t wait to book again - Excellent room
Excellent staff Nothing
- Lynda (9/5): - Sea view.
Central location.
- Ian (8/5): -
- Ian (8/5): A lovely spring break - Great location for what we wanted. The parking is always a problem in Deal. Not the hotels problem.
- Pauline (10/5): Highly recommend. - Great location. Very friendly staff. Rooms very comfortable. Fantastic breakfast. Good value for money. Parking is a bit of a problem but eventually found a space in the station car park.
- Ivor (9/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Lovely building the rooms were clean comfortable lovely Seaview the staff were excellent and the breakfast was great apa - Beautiful quirky old building the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only downside is having very little Parking availability. Not easy to find somewhere to park close by

- Jim (5/5): - Staff were great Overpriced for the standard of food
- eileen (9/5): -
- Susan (9/5): - Great location . Lovely pub , staff and room and breakfast Sadly prices for hotels are expensive and keep rising .
- Anthony (10/5): Good location good food good staff - Very central to everything and always good being next a pub
- Lindsey (10/5): A real gem! - Beautiful room, spacious, well decorated and a really comfy bed! The power in the shower was superb, towels and linen really nice too. Other guests slamming doors but not the property owners fault, some people just don’t consider others. They also left the main front door open one evening.
- Caroline (10/5): It was a very relaxing welcome break away. - The friendly welcome of all the staff. Couldn't find any negatives so N/A
- Jess (8/5): Great accomodation for a short weekend away in Deal! - Very friendly staff and central location being right on the beach front were the big highlights of our stay. Completely down to taste and not necessarily a negative - but the decor of the rooms didn’t match the cosy vibe of the pub itself downstairs, though very clean and tidy and still very comfortable.
- NATHAN (9/5): -
- Caroline (9/5): It was great - Very clean and quiet and comfortable room facing out on to the sea My breakfast wasn't included. I was informed this was because I had booked by booking.com. However my friend who had also booked by booking.com had breakfast included
- Warwick (8/5): - Location and the friendly staff
- Philip (8/5): - Location is excellent on the sea front, room was comfortable whilst I had dinner and the food was very nice. Room was comfortable albeit a little small, but for a one night stay was perfectly adequate.
- Sean (10/5): -
- Kalpshakti Veer Singh (10/5): -
- Piers (9/5): - Great location nice property and friendly helpful staff. Definitely recommend
- Charlotte (8/5): -
- Malcolm (8/5): -
- Michael (7/5): - Nice and warm No breakfast £100 what
- Evelien (6/5): - Locatie, goede pub, prima keuken.
- Kerry (9/5): very plesent stay.didnt have breakfast. had it with family. - room was lovely, just one thing cobwebs in corners and in window !other than that it was great. very comfy ,just cobwebs.
- Chris (8/5): Excellent location close to beach, station, town centre, pier and shops - Excellent position with sea views for some rooms. Bathroom was newly refurbished with great power shower. Bar was cosy and friendly. A little noisy at night / early am due to main road proximity and old sash windows. Some aspects a bit ‘tired’.
- Maria (6/5): Good location, friendly staff - Staff friendly. Room spacious and clean. Optional breakfast expensive.
