- Osullivan (10/5): - Close to e everything Not a thing
- ryanwsmart (5/5): quick overnight in the area - This was one of the lower price motels in town, check-in was quick and easy The room had a musty smell, The Wi-Fi password on the card in the room didn't work, there were some relatively loud guests in a neighboring room

- H (7/5): Good budget stay but you get what you pay for - Considering the beauty of the area of the room was relatively cheap. I really like that Lakeside Charlie's was within walking distance of my hotel room. Only problem I had is if you're tall the toilet does not have a whole lot of legroom and the toilet seat was not aligned with the bowl so it felt like you were going to slip off constantly
- Rhonda (8/5): Cozy retreat - Wood decor was relaxing, a bit dated but very cozy and clean! Bed was uncomfortable
- Laurissa (4/5): - Shower way to small. Very uncomfortable beds. Only stayed because there no other place in town.
- Bucco (10/5): - Nice lil cozy spot, nice & secluded, I liked that. Took me a lil bit to find the right driveway to get back in there at nighttime when I arrived, LoL. They could have a better sign for finding it at night?..Pretty cheap too tho, not high highway robbery prices like most anymore.., it was only $65 + taxes, $72 sumthing.., most are almost $100 bucks or more nowadays!.., & this was a Friday night too! They could use a lil better lit up sign to find it at night easier?, LoL,..., & the walkway from the driveway coulda been shoveled.., but we had a blizzard that night! Real windy & cold! The snow was all iced up, that may be why they didn't shovel.., no biggie...prob wouldn't have even been able to shovel it, it was real crunchy iced up snow.., they would've had to have a lil sidewalk plow, probably! LoL!
- Joshua (1/5): - Nothing The room smelled like cigarette smoke and there was crumbs in the bed
- Karen (6/5): -
- DAVID (5/5): Nice rooms, no bugs, just needs better customer service. - The rooms were clean and smelled nice. The staff wasn't very friendly at all. They ignored people and wer le just unpleasant to talk to.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Janice (1/5): - I wasn't able to find the hotel.the address listed takes you to a courthouse. I tried to call them and ask for directions, but the man was rude, and told me to follow my maps.
- Rozetta (8/5): Was a great place for a spur of the moment overnight stay. - Wasn’t sure what to expect as the price was so low. The room was very clean and quiet. Too bad the bathroom was so small but it was clean.
- James (7/5): -
- Cria (1/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Old decor, quiet, mostly clean, tiny tiny bathroom. - It was cheap, quiet, simple to check-in, simple to check out. Being a slightly bigger individual, I practically could not get to the toilet. The bathroom is a very narrow space and the sink is right where the door opens. I had to squeeze between the door frame and the sink to get to the toilet. Would definitely be better off putting the sink inside the room instead.
Housekeeping should also start checking underneath beds. Found a pistachio and some other food related items underneath. This is a good way to attract insects and rodents.
- Holman (1/5): -
- Patrick (3/5): The only thing we liked was the cost of the room. - The cost Beds were very hard. Pillows were very uncomfortable. I asked for a few extra amd they said no. I woke up with a bad kink in my neck. There wasnt even a coffee stirring stick to stir my coffee. There were no vending machines for snacks or drinks. No ice machine or breakfast.
- Holman (1/5): The heat didn’t work and the room was gross - The heat didn’t work and the room was gross
- Tim (10/5): Very comfortable bed and pillows - Love the bed mattress and pillows!!! Feels like memory foam. I fell asleep immediately 😴 😃 Only thing that needed attention was the shower floor-- wasn't cleaned. Hair on shower floor and stuck around drain.
- Donald (9/5): Clean rooms and easy access and parking - I have stayed here for 13 years and like using Motel style rooms. .
- Ashton (9/5): Nice place to rest your head - I liked the location (on the lake), i felt comfortable in the area (we got back from a concert late). Our thermostat in our room did not work. The room was boiling hot. We turned it down to 65 before we left for a concert, and when we got back it felt like 100. We had to open our door to let some cold air in as it was too uncomfortable to sleep.
- Tim (9/5): Will be staying here again 🙂 - Couldn't adjust the heating temperature. It was set at 80 degrees. A bit too hot to comfortably sleep.
- Gicomantonio (10/5): -
- Flynn (7/5): I only needed a place to sleep for a few hours. - It has a. View of the lake.
There is a microwave, fridge and small coffee pot. Air conditioner
The bathroom was updated but small. I am from a very small town.
Not used to witnessing hotels as living quarter.
I am very aware of the lack of affordable housing. At least these occupant’s have a place for basic needs.
- Kiffner (8/5): -
- Tafadzwa (4/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): - Older motel with old furnishings but the bathroom was updated with nice tile. Bed was ok but a new mattress is needed. Right on the lake and close to restaurants.
- Teresa (4/5): - As a single person did not feel safe
- Mary (7/5): Room was clean and I appreciated that. - There was a breakfast? Missed that totally. Not enough hooks in bathroom to hang up wet towels. Tear in the chair. Did not leave a "Do Not Disturb Sign" on the door so was hoping to get more coffee but that didn't happen.
- Potts (9/5): -
- Moore (6/5): Family trip - The price was better then any other hotel in the area The shower is very small and leaked water
- Lori (10/5): - The owners are very polite and the motel was quite clean and the view of the water absolutely gorgeous
- Greg (7/5): - Price Some seedy people around the location. Staying in other rooms.
- Becky (10/5): Awsome - Everything was great nice and clean breakfast was good location was awsome the lake was right out the door the price was awsome for a Saturday I would of like some more channels
- Sullivan (1/5): Bad - Looks good in pictures but when I went in room smelled really bad like another smell was being covered up. Would not recommend this place Nothing
- Jo (9/5): Great value for a place right on the water! Pet friendly too! - The location is great! RIGHT on the water! Great value if you're willing to overlook the outdated decor and furnishings. The best part is that they allow pets! Our dog loved it! There's a beach/park steps away at the end of the road and great restaurant right on the property too!
Can't wait to come back!
- Osullivan (7/5): Good -
- Christian (9/5): Superb -
- Garrett (10/5): This was an amazing spot to stay. Nostalgic, well kept, kind owners. Will definitely stay here. - There wasn't a provided breakfast. The porch smelled strongly of a cleaner, and I am very sensitive to chemicals/perfumes.
- David (10/5): - Quaint buildings nice location on the lake
- Jeremy (8/5): - Nice
- Melissa (8/5): - Very nice place for the cost
- Scott (8/5): Get what you pay for, and more! Views are awesome. - You can walk to Mitchell State Park with dogs!! Charlies on the lake restaurant is awesome, and prices are great! There are "live in" people at hotel, but was really quite. There is a dock for hotel never told to us...just figured it out. Can swim straight off it. $20/ dog / night...$80 for 2 dogs 2 nights... did not know that!!! What you gonna do after being booked for a month, and 3hr. drive....
- FREDERICK (8/5): - Our location was within walking distance of the water which was a wonderful surprise for us! The price was also perfect for us.
I had been driving all day, so when we couldn't find the motel we had become exasperated. Finally, after 45 minutes of driving around the area, we asked the clerk at Thirsty convenience shop and he gave us specific landmarks. This made it easier. I'm glad we stayed!
- Cynthia (7/5): Good - Worked out great for us If the windows would have been able to open it would have been great
- Jaime (6/5): - I was looking for a place to lay my head that wouldn’t break the bank. This motel accomplished that. It is a motel, not a hotel. It is very functional, very few amenities. Check-in was fast and easy, no frills. People left me alone. I dropped the room key at the front desk when I left and didn’t speak to anyone. It worked well for my needs.
- Gauden (1/5): Bad - Close to everything Dingy, nonsmoking rooms smelled like smoke. WiFi didn’t work.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- mark (8/5): - Good quality for the price
- Richard (4/5): - It should be listed on the site that if you have an animal ots an additional 20.00
- Wicker (3/5): Could have been better - It was in a good location The room wasn’t cleaned before I stayed and dirty
- Mark (8/5): - Reasonably priced, small basic room, quiet, comfortable bed. Perfect place if you are looking for someplace to sleep and shower.
- Linda (6/5): - Entrance to resort property has huge potholes that could swallow a car. Room had a faint smell of weed. Mattress isnt a 5 star comfort bed, but still a place to rest your head. Grass hadnt been mowed about 8-10 inches long. Many long term residents with all their bbq and party supplies out in front of tgeir room. Still felt relatively safe and respected.
- Lydia (4/5): Appreciate that they allowed pets, that’s the only good thing I have to say about it. - Convenient that it was on the lake, and across from the State Park. Appreciate that they allowed our dogs to stay with us. Bathroom was absolutely tiny. Couldn’t even walk thru bathroom without turning sideways. Bed was uncomfortable. Was not super clean. Very run down.
- Carman (6/5): Small but mostly comfortable. - Quiet location. Very nice staff. Clean sheets and towels. Better soap products than most because there were no flowery perfumes added. Chairs outside of door broken. Mirrors are very streaky. Bed completely sunken in except for edges. Only gave exactly what each person needed for a night. No kleenex. The bathroom door knob was broken. Very small bathroom. Parking was very tight because of large work trucks.
- Ralph (4/5): VERY disappointed with this motel! - Not much. Bed was comfortable. That was about it. Lawn was overgrown. Room was EXTREMELY hot with no way to regulate the hot water heater. Had to run the noisy air conditioner to make the room somewhat comfortable. Thin walls. Got the feeling the rooms were rented more by the hour than by the night! Was very disappointed Booking.com would allow a motel like this on its website.
- Wicker (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (2/5): Very poor - No heat in the room have a space heater
- Lynn (2/5): - Room was filthy, used coffee pod left in coffee maker, ants in room. Terrible smell.
- Jared (10/5): - Property staff was very accommodating and super friendly. Yes the place is a little older but it’s clean, comfortable and you really can’t beat the location and view!! Will be back in August!!
- Cwiek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (1/5): Bad -
- gamming with (6/5): - Shower water pressure was bad
- gamming with (6/5): - Shower pressure was bad
- Shane (7/5): Good - Vending Machines And More Outlets In The Rooms Would Have Made This Review A 10
- Jacob (2/5): - It’s a motel, pretty much as expected. Nice spot.
- Luke (8/5): Perfect for a night stay - Small but cozy room. Bathroom was nice, it didn’t smell like cigarette smoke which is always a concern staying at small hotels.
- Melissa (10/5): Cozy and comfy. Better than expected. - Honestly I was expecting much worse, but this stay was just right. Cozy cabin feel with comfortable beds, nothing extravagant at all but perfectly good for 2 nights. Beds were surprisingly comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The towels and toiletries left much to be desired but that’s not what we were traveling for. 100% exactly what to expect for $60 a night. Location was great for local amenities; great restaurant and bar next door, just a short walk to the lake, we had a great time at the bowling alley just a block away and only 20 min to the ski hill. Was greeted warmly and surprised to come back from a day of skiing to a tidied room and beds made. Will definitely be back.
- Jennifer (8/5): Dated but excellent price and location. - Locally owned motel that was definitely dated but clean. King sized bed was comfortable. Excellent price and restaurant was within walking distance. Amenities such as fuel and food were close. As for cons the bathroom is tiny. Walk in shower was adequate. While sitting on the toilet you could easily wash your hands. With the door closed, which didn’t latch, you could barely stand in front of the sink without touching the door. Our mini fridge didn’t work which was disappointing. We stayed 2 nights and had to use our cooler. Also bring your own shampoo and soaps. Only a small bar and one time use shampoo was provided. With all that being said, would still stay again for the price paid and location.
- Rosey (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (10/5): - It was clean
- Jennifer (8/5): - Room was dirty but the price was right.
- Max (10/5): Exceptional - All of it
- Kevin (8/5): - It was cozy!!!
- Trevor (8/5): Nice room, good value. - Basically the closest hotel to Caberfae Peaks without staying on the mountain, only 15 minutes away in Cadillac. It is a bit of an old time motel vibe, drive up to your room and enter with a physical key. But remodeled bathrooms and all very clean. Parking lot wasn't shoveled well, we had to clear our own path from car to room in 6 inch snow.
- Brian (8/5): Love the simplicity - Hometown feel Heat little high
- Casey (10/5): - Location
- Kirk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Dans solo adventure - the stay was good and great customer service from the hotel keeper
- Kevin (10/5): - I love this little motel. So cozy and convenient.
- Kodee (2/5): - Very itchy blankets on the bed, bathroom in the room was way to small and the room was way too hot felt like I was walking into a sauna
- Richard (8/5): Cheap and clean - Surprisingly clean for the price- unfortunately you have no control over the heat. It was zero degrees outside and i couldn't get the room below 75, even with a window open. I normally sleep at 65 so that was unbearable for me. Didn't sleep a wink in that heat
- Hatt (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): - Stayed during a snowstorm. Nice size room and toasty warm.
- Neoma (8/5): Good for the price - Clean, good rates, pet friendly Could use some updating
- gamming (8/5): - Cheep place to stay.
- Ronald (4/5): - Heat is always on.
- Monica (10/5): - Very nice and will be coming back in the summer
- Chris (5/5): 24hrs get away - we enjoyed the value the queen bed was very comfortable pillows extremely comfortable 😴 We did not like that. We could hear the conversation and the activity going on next door we did not like that. The Lou was in a very strange place. You sat on it to go potty. And if you bent forward. You would hit your head and that's exactly what happened to me. I bent forward and I hit my hdad. Being locked out of the room. You go outside and think the door can just let you back in. But you have to have your key to get back in and that was not explained. other
Than that all was well
- Scotti (7/5): Clean, comfortable, pet-friendly and good location. - Location was beautiful, right on the lake. It was close and convenient to Cadillac and the main roads in the area. My room was uncomfortably warm; it took several hours to cool down. Also, the bathroom exhaust fan was extremely loud.
- Carl (6/5): We enjoyed it other than that - The breakfast was very nice There could have been a couple of more pillows available in the room
- RaChel (8/5): Great view - Room was clean, but small. Some of the rooms are residential with long term occupants.
- Cindy (3/5): Old motel that’s clean but staff does not honor reservations. - Near the lake, restaurants nearby. Reserved the large suite with a kitchen and 3 beds as I was visiting my grandkids and had them stay with us. They rented it to someone else and although they gave us 2 rooms it made our plans more difficult.
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Mariah (1/5): Bad -
- Scott (2/5): Very poor -
