• Jeffrey (7/5): It was cold and wet and my team lost the game but I was satisfied with the room. - The location was good, not too far from the train station or GMHBA Stadium, and also close to the coast. The rooms a good size and had the necessary facilities. The bed was comfortable. I arrived early and was hoping to just leave my luggage until I checked in but the staff were able to organise a room for me to check into immediately, which was very much appreciated. The shower made quite a noise when being used but I really have no other complaints. It's obviously an old and dated complex but it was generally comfortable.

Property dirty rubbish everywhere. No internet access. Sheets were off white so I wasn't sure if they were clean or not.

• Michelle (1/5): YUCK!!! - The room was filthy! My teenage kids would not shower as it needs a major scrubbing. One child pulled back their bed sheets, and it had hair through it. YUCK! Dirty knife in draw, dirty spoon and rubbish on floor, hasn't been dusted/wipe down for months. The whole room needs a professional cleaner through it. I would not recommend staying here.

• Amanda (5/5): Great location, the rest was disappointing. In need of some TLC. - Location was great, and available parking is a bonus. Don't seem to have enough power points for the amenities. Fridge wasn't working, couldn't see a lead for it to even check it was plugged in. One lamp plugged into a power board, another with zero chance of reaching a power point. Lose tile right in the door way. Had the room close to the restaurant with staff enjoying their smoke break just outside our door. At check in I was asked to pay in cash, apparently he had trouble finding the eftpos until it magically appeared right in front of him. Needs some TLC and fresh air. Could be fantastic given the location.

• Rob (7/5): Over all I was satisfied with this accommodation - The location was perfectly located between the beach and the hospital where I attended an appointment. The bathroom, particularly the shower was old and the grout and tiles in poor condition.

Not enough towels in the room for the amount of us staying, when asked for more they were being washed. No extra towels arrived. Air conditioner was extremely dirty. Needs a renovation urgently.

It wasnt until I said I would call you and arrange a refund that they were able to find us a suitable room. The rooms were very grubby and needed a deep deep clean. Parking was difficult as well. • Christa (8/5): Unexpectedly delighted with location - We chose this on price and proximity to the graduation location. When we got there, the location had bonuses - an Indian Restaurant downstairs, where we could treat our vegetarian daughter to dinner, overlooking a park. The meal was a bit on the expensive side, but worth it. Later we walked down to the ferris wheel, ice cream stands and beach (only 1 block away) and along the waterfront. The boardwalk makes for easy walking, as we didn't have to go on the sand. We got to see the "Spirit of Tasmania" going by (must have been the right time of day). One swimming area is enclosed with shark bars and there is a kids pool nearby with a fountain and plenty of seats for parents. The motel was within easy walking distance of our event and the motel kindly allowed us to leave the car there for a few hours, as the Geelong parking is daunting for country people like us. The beds had plenty of space and there was a small table available and bowls and cutlery - we could have brought our own breakfast if we had known. We ended up having breakfast at the cafe located conviently across the street from our window. Both beds were large and both had reading lights. We would definitely stay there again - location is great and also within walking distance of Wool Museum. One of the lights in the stairwell was out. The entry light to our room was out.

Good value for money. Rooms are getting a bit dated and could do with a freshen up. The car-park could do with a good clean up - rubbish lying around.

• Jenna (5/5): Great location, not worth the value for money - The location was perfect. Very central to the shops, the water front and walking tracks. It was very very run down for the value of money. We have done lots of travelling in the past few years but, the bathrooms were not clean and maintained. The rubbish outside needs cleaning up. It really would benefit from an upgrade to attract more people. The sheets/bedding were cringe worthy brown colour. You can’t charge top price for location and not have the standards there.

• Gail (7/5): Good price and excellent location. Short walk to Eastern beach and shopping centre. Would stay again - Great view of Ferris wheel and ocean. We stayed here for the excellent location. More a budget type motel but only thing I could fault was the net curtain was ripped and daggy which didn't bother us but would some people. Other than that the room was fine. Not for people who like up market accommodation.

• Leslie (4/5): Filthy! - The location was great. The place was so filthy & unkept. The shower glass & tiles looked like they had never been cleanred. There were hairs all.over the wall tiles in the bathroom beside the Vanity. The Cabinet that the TV sat on, was broken& hardly standing. You wouldn't want to use the Fridge in the cabinet, as the door fell off. The phone in the unit was absolutely filthy. Outside, every ashtray was full & appeared never to be emptied. Lying in the Carpark, was hats & odd shoes plus an old dilapidated oven from the Restaurant.

• stefan (4/5): - Great location Arrived at 5.15 pm room not ready- came back and then room smelled of cheap cleaning chemicals. Was clean, but run down- what looked like toilet paper and mud in carpark.
• Nadine (7/5): Stay was fine, just unprofessional when handing in a key to a complete stranger who is not staff. - Bed was very comfortable and clean area. The next morning we had to check out and a random woman who was smoking on the balcony said that we had to give her the key (she was not staff). When asked why, she said the owners weren't there and had asked her to collect the keys. Another guest also questioned her and was reluctant to give over the key. She said she is a guest that stays there most of the time. The owners should have told residence that they were to hand keys into this random stranger not just leave it up to residence to worry if this is what actually needed to be done. Not professional at all. This could have been someone off the street asking for all the room keys. Staff or a lock box should be there to hand over the key for protection of property.

• KEITH (7/5): For a one night stay we consider Eastern Sands to be comfortable and good value. - Early check in and the stay overall. There was intermittent humming noise from 10 p.m. to midnight coming from somewhere...We couldn't pinp9oint the source so might have been outside Motel's control. The other issue was there was debris in the car park area which was an eyesore.
