- Thomas (2/5): I wanted to collect my things and leave but I needed to sleep - location Mould in the shower, I showered with my thongs on, floor was sticky and look dirty, air con had dust fly out of it when I turn it on & was smelly, the room smelt stale & musty, I slept on top of the sheets because I was afraid what I might find.

- Margaret (4/5): Will not stay there again - The pictures portrayed a different picture It was certainly cheaper than other Motels however - the rooms were musty the bathroom was old and needs upgrade - breakfast was supplied however it was very poor - especially presentation - the milk and orange juice bottle was just left on the table - margarine not butter - the hot water when pored into the cup had residue from the plastic heated container - there was 2 options for breakfast cereal and white and multigrain bread to toast - no fruit or yoghurt - they did have pancake maker which was good - no honey or maple syrup -

- Kim (7/5): Really appreciated the room and brekkie to get going the next day. - Price, breakfast, clean and nice staff. Little things, a second glass and some cold water in the fridge. Bedside lights or a dimmer. A second packet of biscuits for two people.

- Leandre (5/5): Not a pleasant stay - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good as it was close to some grocery shops and just across the road was a pub that served lovely meals. It felt very unsafe. Our room had wooden louvres along the front that when opened had no protective glass on either side. One of the beds was situated right under these louvres. As well as this being unsafe security wise, it let every sound outside be heard from people talking, to the sound of cans being opened up a number of rooms down, babies crying, cars driving in and out of the location. We ended up putting the two dining chairs against the door to try and feel.more secure. There was a half drunk bottle of water left in the fridge. The beds were not comfortable at all.

That is a joke. No mention 5 whatsoever until you check in and boom, all of a sudden you have to cough up $40 for having a pet in a pet friendly room. Disappointing

Would have been good if informed of this.i have an over height car so cant fit under awning outside room, cars that can fit park in the open spots which are limited . Open parking spots should be for over height vehicles only.

- Eleanor (10/5): Family Eater break - Operated by a wonderful family, it was a pleasure to stay here with my family. Everything was clean and tidy. Close to everything. We had "a lot" going on, and Deepak & Sheena ensured our requirements were handled with a smile and efficiency. Afternoon swims in the delightful pool were a blessing. I didn't like having to leave and return to work reality - but I'll be sure to return soon.

Shower was old and not overly clean. Milks in fridge were off. Initial smell of bleach over powering. Outside smelt like cigarettes. Toilet door handle didnt work. Bedding was old and daggy.

- Andrew (8/5): Fantastic - The Mackay Rose Hotel Motel is a lovely comfortable family place to stay. I only used the room and the included continental breakfast, but wow, the bangers and mash were great after a long day on the road. Enjoyed the brilliant shower too! A couple of drinking glasses (for water etc) would be a nice addition to the fridge.

- Toni (4/5): You get what you pay for! - Bed was comfortable and room was spacious when I arrived, I was advised that I had been upgraded from a queen to a king, so I was rather happy about that, but the room was disappointing. freezer contained some else's ice cream and coffee table drawer contained half bag of eaten potato chips. the desk drawers and only cupboard in the room was used as an unorganized storage cupboard for housekeeping. the railing in the bathroom fell off when I leant on it but easy to put back in (luckily). When I called for room service the cooker had been shut down due to heavy rain? This was one of the reasons that I chose this motel so i didn't have to leave my room to obtain my dinner. Air conditioning was really cold!

- Aaron (8/5): Value for money, stopover perfection, with a great hot shower and clean beds. - Value for money is good and everything you need was there, clean beds, good water pressure, good water heat, our kids were loud but rooms are very well sound insulated. WiFi password was wrong and TV wasn't working, but we have phones/tablets these days anyway.

- Kathy (10/5): Staff were very accommodating and the motel ticked all the basic boxes- met our expectations. - This was a last minute booking due to a cyclone, but the staff were so accommodating. They opened their onsite restaurant to ensure we did not have to go back out and always were very helpful. The rooms were a bit dated, but we would definitely book again. The rooms were a bit dated and had louvre windows which didn't block out the noise outside.

With the Shamrock only a stone throw away, you can be sure beer & a pub feed is on the cards! I will add you can almost be CERTAIN you won't go hungry have that being said.. The Rose Mackay has its own Menu!! I have never had a better MeatLovers pizza in my 38 years on this planet!! You guessed it!!?.. the Staff/Owners cook ur Meals/Dinners themselves!!! The Staff/Owners are 💯 amazing, warming & welcoming & and will ALWAYS be seeing my face in the near future!! The the price you pay, how you are treated & wat is inclusive I cannot fault!!! See Yas again in the near future!!
