Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Temperature was always pleasant thanks to a ceiling fan, air-conditioning and sliding glass door to the patio and grassed area. I wish I had known about the microwave, crockery and cutlery. These were not listed in the amenities on booking.com

Donna on the front desk was amazing. A good amount of crockery and cutlery. All this while being well priced. Beachside Boutique will now be my go to stay in Mackay. It was perfect.

The motel was close to the beach & only a five minute drive into central Mackay. We would come back again. We loved everything about this property. No complaints.

You never asked what I didn’t like - the host placed me smack in the middle of a group booking of rooms of 10 yr old netballers. Around the motel at 10pm at night and banging doors and yelling at 5am!! Not impressed. Rooms could have been allocated to group them together - ruined my sleep and stay

• Wannet (7/5): Better than being in the main street. - That I was able to access the key at a time that suited me without the need for a human. The room was good and clean. I liked the lounge setting. The fittings were of good updated quality. The air conditioner was loud. For me, the pillows were too hard. And the plumbing had hammering in the vanity area regardless of how softly or quickly you turned taps off. The parking was tight.

My only very small feedback would be travelling as single women, I do like to secure my door at night with a chain on the inside, the single simple door lock made me feel a little nervous that it could easily be unlocked/broken.

• Marcel (10/5): Immer gern wieder… - Sehr professionell geführt. Alles stimmt. Bau recht modern, sauber. Unterkunft alles gut, lediglich der Strand taugt nicht viel. Zum einen ist der Zidenhub von über fünf Metern, viel Bruchholz liegt herum, das einem dann bei Flut beim Schwimmen hindert. Ansonsten kann man am Strand bei Ebbe perfekt spazieren gehen.

• nicole (10/5): Wonderful - Close to the beach and park. Really quit. Very comfortable and clean. Tina is the best host!! Answers very quickly and even after hours. The key was perfect and easy to find. She left the airco on so the room was nice and cool. Nice clean towels and lovely shampoo and soap. Lovely tea and coffee maker in the room. And she drove me to the airport, which was super nice🙏😇 Even though i was there for 1 night it was memorable. Wish i could stay longer. Thank you so much Tina! All the best ,nicole

If was a family buisness which we loved!! The owners were nothing but beautiful and made us feel right at home, even the check out day they were asking how we were, and created a great connection! Even during the day they have staff who replace the linens and do a general tiny. The room itself was beautiful!! NA

Bed was very firm so we had difficulty sleeping The bed. I know it is a personal thing but for us it was just to firm and we woke up tired.

I especially appreciated the quiet location with no traffic noise. Great value for money. The mattress was unfortunately the worst I’ve ever experienced — extremely hard and uncomfortable, it honestly felt like sleeping on concrete. It’s a shame, because this is such an important part of any accommodation experience. Even a simple mattress topper or foam underlay would make a huge difference. The carpet was heavily stained and really needs cleaning or replacing. There were plates and mugs available, but no cutlery, sponge, or dishwashing liquid — it would be great to have a few basic items provided. That said, when I asked the housekeeping staff for a teaspoon, they kindly brought one over straight away, which I appreciated. If the mattress situation improves, this would be a perfect spot, and I’d happily return.
