- FJVLS (8/5): A Very Nice Room with Good Proximity to the Penguin Parade - We stayed overnight, choosing this location based upon TA reviews and proximity to the Penguin Parade. Overall, a nice room at a reasonable price. This property is a hybrid of hotel rooms, RV spots, and some clearly much longer-term trailer tenants. For context, we traveled with two large suitcases for a several week trip Down Under. This shaped our view of room sizes and bathroom counter space. What we liked: - We rented a spa room. It was pretty spacious, included a balcony, and the bathroom was nicely modern/refreshed. Plenty of space for our gear and decent bathroom counter space. - Parking is included, and the parking spot is reserved for each unit, hence no parking hassles. - Pleasant and efficient reception staff. - An easy walk to Cowes for food or shopping. - Penguin Parade is about a 15 minute drive. Other notes: - There is a restaurant that serves dinner only starting at 6 PM. We did not try it. - They use a changeable keypad code for room entry. We did not see a way to lock the room from the inside to prevent entry when you are inside. There is not a in-room safe.

Indicated on all maps, but when we arrived there was a concrete slab and 3 tables in its place. - 1 star for the noisy bus that came and went during our first night as late as 10:40pm. Just sitting there engine running literally 3m from our tent. - 1 star for rude staff. When mentioning how annoyed I was by the prior two points I basically was told “thanks for the feedback you’re welcome to leave if you’re not happy” - 1 star for being overpriced. $110/night for a basic campsite considering all the above.

I be back i made my Booking all ready i all ways had a chat befor the cleaners started made me feel home. I no my review late. . I come in at night as I drive at night ask not to be botherd for 2 days. . So they left me sleep to go back to day light hurs. Fantastic. . 1 sad part was leaving. A week later i could of stand on best hotel i found on the island. Wi-Fi was fantastico. As I had to use this a lot. So 10 out of 10 for all staff. See you in February cheers Chris

I enjoyed the spa and like that you can book the spa. Overall I enjoyed our stay.

The entrance and pool may look nice in pictures, but once inside, it's a different story. The site is cramped, worn down, and far from peaceful. Our pitch felt like we were parked in an alleyway, and the constant traffic made it feel more like a car park than a campsite. It also seems to double as temporary housing, and much of the accommodation reflects that. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, keep driving."

The children play ground is good however we didn’t find the trampoline pillow. What wasn’t good was there is no bath within the cabins so hard when wanting to bath young toddler who aren’t keen on a shower. Also not all rooms have a ceiling fan so warm in bedroom without a ceiling fan. The bed quality is terrible as the springs can be felt and really a rough sleep. But regardless the experience was great due to location

- RickimusMaximus (8/5): Great place to stay on Phillip Island - My wife and I stayed here. It is recently under new management and they seemed really nice. They did turn on the hot tub special for us after telling us to give them some time to get it warmed up. The grounds are easy to get around on and we walked out to the beach as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. I think "resort" is a strong word. Hopefully the new management can get this back to resort status. We stayed here primarily so we would be close to the penguins encounter and nightime parade. We also used this place to go to Maru Animal Park

- LindyL363 (8/5): Great weekend away at Kaloha Resort - Last weekend myself and 16 other ladies stayed at this resort for the first time. We all loved it. We were mainly occupying the beach cabins along the foreshore area and it was lovely. So close to walk to the beach and town, absolutely enjoyable. Beds were comfortable and so were the pillows but we could have all done with spare blankets in the cupboards as Friday night was very cold and a few of us couldn't sleep. Some spare blankets next time would be great. The cabins are spacious and have views of the beach through the trees. Well equipped and clean. Thanks so much for accommodating us and we hope to return next year.

- Pombodon (8/5): Excellent stay, comfortable and clean - We booked a one night stay at Kaloha because we came up with our children to see the penguins. Even though everything was done seamlessly online, the owner came out to say hello because our daughter was crying in the car (just woken up from the long drive!) The family room (with two single beds and a queen sized) was just perfect for us. It was warm, well-lit, very newly renovated and cosy. Everything was so clean. The only thing you need to know is that the trampoline no longer exists (due to OHS as a staff member told us) but there's a lovely playground. And the pool and spa is closed for winter - but we didn't mind because when we booked, the room was discounted. We really expected a Best-Western sort of room for the price and were so happily surprised about the four-star room with its lovely soft doonas, fluffy towels and warm staff. The restaurant upstairs was packed on a Saturday night too.

- Steven (8/5): Tassie trip to Mainland - Fine mid range place, convenient location to main area of Cowes. Room a little dated but overall functional, clean and tidy. Easy check in and out.
- Katrina (2/5): - Room was shocking dirty with cobwebs everywhere hanging down and walls had thick dust all over them that when you touch them you left a handprint. Blinds were splattered with Brown filth. Old prehistoric blankets on the bed, cold for winter, need to update their bedding. Outside lights did not come on when it was dark out and dangerous to walk down the stairs, sensors are not set for the right timing/season. Bathroom rot around cupboards. Overall, not a pleasant stay, would not visit here again.

- Ilovesalads78 (6/5): Simple and Convenient - As others have stated and I agree - this is just a motel. They allowed us to check in a couple of hours early, which was nice. The room was simple and clean - the bed was fine. We requested an upstairs room, which we got. The location is close to the Penguins Parade (15 minutes) and a 5-10 minute walk to the main street with food and stores. Would have no issues stay again if we ever came back this way.
- Kym (8/5): - Well one thing I notice in all rooms had roller blinds and Curtins my room had a roller blind No curtain so I had to keep my roller blind down so nobody could see inside my room other that its a great place to stay
- Yanoula (10/5): - Great getaway. Rooms are a bit dated but are clean. Anyone with young kids I highly recommend to stay here.
- Bethany (6/5): You get what you pay for - Customer service was good and the most important things in the room were clean, however there was dust everywhere (including a bathroom vent that I don't think has ever been cleaned) and lots of squashed bugs over the ceiling and blinds. The room is described as sound proof but is far from it! You can hear next doors conversations. The room was a bit tired, the paint around the door frames and on the doors were really badly flaked away. Distance to the beach was amazing. If youre looking for a budget place to stay close to the beach where you just need a bed to sleep in, its perfect. If youre looking for a bit more comfort or luxury, probably not the place.

- Neil and Stacey (8/5): - Nice property. Clean, tidy and a short walk to Cowes Main Street. It’s not a 5 star hotel but it doesn’t pretend to be one. The buildings are old but the rooms have been renovated enough to be comfortable. Very quiet area, close to a beach. If you struggle with stairs or even taking your bags upstairs then request a ground floor as there are no lifts. Would stay here again
- Ron (8/5): - Very friendly staff. The only issue I had were the steep stairs to the room which was on the 1st floor. I hadn't checked when I booked, which is entirely my fault. The bed was a little hard for my liking, but I find that at most places we stay. We dined onsite at the Palms restaurant, and the food and service were excellent. I would stay again, but would make sure I had a ground floor room.

- Elizabeth (4/5): - I had no contact with staff until the final morning when housekeeping staff barged into the room at 09:00 insisting that I’d already checked out. The room was very small and noisy. Placing numerous tables & chairs outside each room creates a perception that guests can sit outside someone’s room all night drinking and smoking - which they did. The room I stayed in had been only partially clean with parts of the bathroom dirty and the microwave dirty. Apart from 2 cups, 2 saucers and 2 teaspoons there was no crockery or cutlery and yet there was a microwave, toaster and electric kettle and access to a BBQ area. When booking the room there was no indication that the room was situated up 16 steps. Neither was there any indication that the room overlooked van sites with those residents having set up a noisy externally located TV together with 8 seats. Even cabins in caravan parks offer a separation from capers. In summary: a very budget stay without the benefit of a budget price.

- liweiw_13 (8/5): Budgeted resort with good location - Good location to the main street and the beach. Don’t forget to ask for the password to back entrance. We stay at beach front cabin, the quality meets its budget price. Clean and simple amenities. The neighbors seem to be rental apartments so there will be a lot of garage like rooms on the way from reception to your room. It lowers resort’s classes. But once you walk to the beach side, you will find there are a lot of apartments like this, so don’t compare them with pure hotel. It seems to be the living culture here.

- arwen (2/5): Don’t book here! - The advertisements in the brochure were misleading. We had a very basic and not overly clean room over looking a play park on one side and the bin store on the other. Pool was a not overly clean looking pond. We asked to move and we’re only given more expensive options. We ended up staying at the much better North Pier although we were still charged the full rate for our two abandoned nights at this truly horrible place.

- ChrisF828 (6/5): Basic but a fair price and good location - We stayed here for two nights on our trip around the area. It was comfortable but I wouldn’t describe it as a resort. It seemed to be a very mixed bag of accommodation … we stayed in a good quality ‘motel’ type room … but there seemed to be some lower quality accommodation behind us … there was also an area in front of us where several trailer tents arrived. The room was comfortable and the location was good for walking around the Cowes area … and the price was reasonable.

- warwickh2017 (10/5): Superb, quiet location with extremely well presented rooms - This is THE location if you’d like to visit Cowes and explore the town by foot. Immediate beach access onto one of the safest and most swim-friendly beaches on the Island, and only 5-6 miles Utes walk to all the great restaurants in the Main Street. A quiet and secluded spot too, despite its proximity to town.
