Guest Reviews
- Hannah (2/5): I’M A HUMAN GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!! - Absolutely shocking! Turned up the place looked shut down and abounded all smashed windows and graffiti all over walls. Knocked on door to see if I got the wrong address and they said my room was cancelled because toilet was broken! Well I wouldn’t of stayed there but the fact they didn’t contact me before hand to say the room was cancelled is bad, AVOID!!!
Wish I took pictures but I will next time in Liverpool!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very lovely room and cheerful staffing
Will be staying again on our next visit to the area
- Richard (8/5): Good hotel - Good hotel, stopped three nights while working locally, the rooms were clean, comfortable & modern, plenty of choice for food, numerous takeaways very close by.
- John (10/5): - Every thing i need for an overnight stay, clean & good value for money.
- Lucy (8/5): Ok for one night stay. £5 in a taxi to town. - Not bad but not great area. Rooms are fine and comfortable.
- Phillip (6/5): Basic but value for money - Stopped here for a family night out in Liverpool. Hotel doesn't look great from the outside but interior is fine. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Gent on reception was polite and welcoming.
Have no real complaints other than the photos are a little misleading.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - very run down area building outside very run down
rooms very small
- Sharon (2/5): - when I arrived with elderly family members we had to go through a door that looked like the entrance door to a prison. Check in, we were checked in to rooms that were occupied or not ready to be.
Man on reception not helpful, chewing and slapping his gum whilst talking to patrons. Bedding was suspect and rooms not clean. Room doors opened without the keycard. looked nothing like pictures online.
- B (8/5): Better than you might think - Chose this hotel because it's within walking distance of Anfield. Not the best of areas but it was quieter than we expected. Welcome was friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable and everywhere was clean, although there was a little damage to the decor. On-street parking was surprisingly easy too.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Did not use the property.Too far from my destination.Reception advised me to ask for cancellation and refund.
- Andrew (8/5): - It is what it says on the tin. Cheap, cheerful and adequate for somewhere to stay for one night. Ritz it isn't, but based on price, I never expected that!
- William (2/5): Absolutely disgusting - DO NOT STAY HERE - I can only start with this place need's shutting down! I had the pleasure (SARCASTIC) of staying here over the weekend and want to write about my experience.
We had booked the Grand National - Aintree and decided to stay at the Trivelles as the reviews looked okay-ish and the price was around in line what I was expecting to pay (Around £120 Per Night). We had turned up to the hotel down Stanley Road with the hotel exterior having a locked front door, covered in graffiti, missing top windows, holes in the building and can only describe 1-2 years of rubbish been collected around back. (Taxi Driver dropped us off describing this as the area for lowlifes, homeless, Drug addicts & overall some nasty people!)
I rang the doorbell to enter and we was checked by a member of staff. Heading up to the room we found holes in the ceiling on the top floor and was greeted with the god awful smell of rubbish (clearly the rubbish outside harvesting). The room walls was cracked, bed having marks, shower not working properly and the floors been sticky - I don't even want to imagine...
Complained about the rubbish smell the most as it was almost unbearable and the staff could only advise moving rooms which was not going to help as it was through out the building. Clearly knew of what we were referring too.
Spent £450 on 2 nights for 4 guests so couldn't just walk away and not having enough money to spend this amount again. You couldn't pay me to stay here again
DO NOT STAY HERE
- David (10/5): - Excellent stay .very friendly staff and very clean and tidy
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We arrived late on the night from the airport was shown the room which was basic ,small tv,little toilet hand basin and shower cubical .The place is old converted pub or office and the work done was poor with floor sloping and tiles in bathroom wobbly the radiator on the wall was leaking
and when I asked he came back to room with a small spanner ,this was not what he needed so I told him to leave it so he put a towel down until morning.
Next morning we were out early thinking we would get back to all sorted but the room was never entered so no change of towels or radiator mended we left next morning early vowing to never go back again.
- Jake (8/5): - Fine place close to Anfield. Reception was easy and room had what you needed. Thanks.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - Check in took a while as no one was at reception. Room was small but clean, and en suite was nice. Location fairly close to Liverpool centre. However, barely slept at all. The walls are paper thin, and could hear the couple next to me arguing all night. Reception isn’t manned so no one was there to assist. I was so cross I left very early in the morning, after about 2 hours sleep. Again, no one was on reception so no one to complain to. Unfortunately wouldn’t stay again - and would have asked for my money back if there had been anyone to ask!!
- Leonard (8/5): Cheap room but comfortable - Had a comfortable nights sleep
Room was clean
Good shower
Pity it is away from the city centre but that is reflected on the price of the room
Would use it again
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor location - No hotel parking, rooms not cleaned daily, really bad smells.
Rooms need a good clean, and beds tidied and bathroom cleaned
- George V. (4/5): Bed very uncomfortable - Bed is very uncomfortable. Small and cheap mattress.
The guy was nice enough to give me a charger and it is almost walking distance from the stadia.
Downton is not very close and the bus is 2.30 each way
- pedro (6/5): - the only bad thing ,morning shower without hot water,that was all.good room size,nice tv,great staff,good size toilet,comfy bed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Mattress in very bad condition.
Walls too thin (you can hear your room next door),
- lin (2/5): noisy. cold. - very very bad. dont go.small room. tiny bath. cold. and very very very noisy!
- Maggie (2/5): Not central - Did not stay room smelled musty.
Advertised as central 5 min walk to town it was not.
Meant to have private parking it was on main road.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel - I stayed there for a night on my way to holidays. Staff was really nice and helpful, room was lovely and clean. I will definitely remember it if I'll be planning any trips to Liverpool.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value, but basic - Hotel was cheap staff were nice. Place was clean. Get what you pay for. However the bed was very uncomfortable- you could feel each spring!
Change the mattress and this place would be an ideal stay over for a football game!
Everton and Liverpool are just round the corner!
- tricia (6/5): Nice Hotel and staff helpful. - Lots off things to see in and around the city museum and the Warriors ferry across the Mersey the cavern club where the Beatles played before they became famous.
- lol (10/5): Nice staff but small room - The staff were lovely an understanding of anything, all quite polite. The room on the picture looks quite large but it’s not that big, bathroom was clean but shower was big but water kept going on and off.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great staff
Limited hot water
Not soundproof enough
Slightly uncomfortable bed
- Ezekiel (6/5): Stay at Trivelles - Hotel was not what I expected. Small and it is not for fussy people. Hotel staff was excellent especially Livia
- oscar (8/5): - Wonderful staff, friendly area, very close to Anfield, great room, very cosy
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Kindly change the pillows. Not comfortable at all.
staff is friendly and helpfull.Bathroom was very clean.
- gwen (10/5): Good room for the money - Room was clean, was a little hard to find. Service was very good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was clean, the staff was very friendly and informative (can tell you plenty to do in town) and the place slightly was accessible to public transportation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great staff, they were extremely polite and considerate. It was tough to find and the area is not close to Liverpool city center and a 20-30 minute walk to either football stadiums.
- daniel (4/5): Nice hotel rough area - Hotel was nice but in rough area no food at hotel which was not good
- Amy (2/5): Awful hotel - Would not recommend this hotel at all! Unless you like hearing the sound of people throwing their guts up every night outside your window, which was broken by the way and having other hotel users screaming at the top of their lungs and blasting music All through the night! Awful weekend never again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Just in the right place to get into town - Exactly what we needed somewhere to sleep at the end of the day
- D (10/5): I had a great time there! - I would go back! The only thing I would recommend is have better access to food! The hotel is nice but the neighborhood lacks amenities!
- Philip (4/5): Avoid this one, and stay closer to downtown. - The bad location made it a terrible choice.
- Vincent (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Stayed in various Trivelles and never disappoint, area not the best but not the worst.easy check-in
- Helen (4/5): - Hotel was to far out had to get either buses or taxi into the centre so as this into your cost. Not in a very nice area.
- Lew (8/5): Close to the Cruise Terminal - Just what I wanted. The room was adequate. It was clean with a comfortable bed. The shower was one of the best I have ever used. Less thann 10 minutes to the cruis terminal. Parked the car within 30 seconds walk of the front door.
- Vicky (6/5): Hotel ok - The hotel was fine and for what I paid could not complain. Had a bit of a problem finding the hotel as the name was not on the building but on an A4 sheet of paper on the front door
- Lisa (6/5): Good value, clean hotel not far from city centre - We stayed here for 3 nights the weekend of Liverpoool half marathon, this hotel was basic but offered good value for money, the room was clean and the man on reception was very friendly and helpful. Could do with better signage outside the hotel, downsides were location, when we came out the entrance after the second night of our stay the bus stop outside had been smashed to pieces, and there is no on-site parking - parking is in side streets - no problem parking but not in the best of areas!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok hotel - The hotel was ok for what we needed room wasn't the cleanest very dusty and we arnt picky! the gent who let us in was nice and friendly! the area the hotel is situated is very rough! we did have an ideas of that when we got there but even the taxi drivers said it was a very rough area! only 5 min taxi drive to the docks!
- margaret (2/5): Creepy hotel in a bad part of town - Just don't. We had the hardest time finding it and once we did, we were so creeped out by it that we immediately checked out and went to a holiday inn. Don't waste your money, spend the extra £ to staying the city centre.
- Rimvydas (8/5): good but pricey - quite nice, just little bit pricy :)
- Maureen (8/5): Affordable and Comfortable - Staff was friendly, room was nicer than expected, and the proximity to where I wanted to go was ideal.
- Philip (6/5): No frills, decent quality hotel - One night stay. Very clean room, a little on the small side but fine for a night or two. Too far from the city centre to comfortably walk in and back, but a lot cheaper than the hotels closer in.
A bit strict about checking in and checking out times - have to be out by 10.30 so no option for a long lie in on a Sunday morning!
But overall a pleasant, comfortable place.
- Patricia (4/5): Not impressed! - No facilities in the hotel for food (limited tea/coffee in rooms). Local shops shut at 8, so have to drive for food/drinks. Check in process straightforward. We had been told by the receptionist on arrival that our shower door was broken, and wouldn't be fixed till the next day, so were ok with that. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The window wouldn't shut, and there was a plastic bag over the fire alarm. There was no fire exit from the 3rd floor you would have to go down the stairs to the 2nd floor. The fire door at the top of the stairs was propped open with a purpose made door prop(despite door warning not to leave the door open). We were woken up at 3.30 by people in the next room coming in and putting on the telly, and making a lot of noise. The fire alarm went off at 6.00 - set off by someone smoking in the room below leaning out of the window!!! We gave up and left.
