Guest Reviews
- Curtis (7/5): Friendly staff and good food, but not a true 4-star experience - The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our stay. They kindly assisted us in arranging a taxi to the jetty, which we really appreciated.
The food was good, particularly the Indian dishes, and both breakfast and the buffet dinner offered plenty of choice.
We would recommend including dinner in your booking, especially as there are very limited restaurants or supplies nearby and the weather can be unpredictable - it rained heavily on our first day.
The pool area was lovely and very quiet; we practically had it to ourselves for two days, which was a real highlight. Overall, despite some issues, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is advertised as 4-star, but in our opinion it does not meet that standard. Housekeeping was inconsistent, and rooms were not cleaned daily. Only two towels were provided initially, and we had to request additional hand towels multiple times. The towels were old and worn, with one having a large hole in it. Toilet paper was supplied in very limited quantities and had to be requested repeatedly. The drinking glasses in the room appeared used, with visible curry stains on them. The lighting was confusing, with switches operating unexpected lights, and the electrics could benefit from attention.
The bathroom design was also unusual, with a roller blind separating the shower from the bedroom, which kept getting wet and felt impractical - frosted glass would be a better solution. The rooms were advertised as having balconies, which was misleading, as this was actually a shared communal area with no furniture, making it unusable as a private balcony.
We also required an invoice showing a zero balance, which is standard consumer practice, but despite multiple requests the hotel was unable to provide this.
Additionally, Kingfisher beer was listed on the menu but was not available during the daytime. If you are looking for bars or nightlife in the area, options are very limited.
It’s also worth noting that this was not our original booking. We were due to stay at The Eden, but they cancelled on us without warning one week before arrival, forcing us to arrange alternative accommodation at short notice.
In summary, the staff and food were the highlights, but improvements are needed for this hotel to truly meet advertised 4-star expectations.

- Dr SP Singh (5/5): Expensive - Breakfast was ordinary. Location is good, peaceful, calm. No traffic sounds. Room tariff was too high for the standard of the hotel. Ordinary rooms. Average interior. Old furniture with stains.
- P Fondekar (9/5): -
- Jeremy (3/5): - The staff were friendly. Overpriced for the poor quality of the room and facilities.
- vijay (8/5): - Friendly staff good clean rooms
- Pradhan (9/5): Pleasant stay - Had a nice stay , nice pool , food and staff all supportive . Close to the airport .
- Haresh (10/5): Exceptional -
- A (9/5): Superb - Nice and calm hotel. Insects in pool. Pool requires frequent cleaning
- Edward (3/5): Do not book. Not worth it and not a pleasant stay. - Nothing, rooms were dirty, outdated and lacked basic maintenance Everything. This hotel is old, outdated with noticeable lack of maintenance. Changed rooms 3 times due to a incredible damp/mould smell. No soap in the room and only left with 1/3 of toilet paper roll. Breakfast was below average, with mainly indian breakfast items. Not worth the price. Pictures are outdated and do not represent the decaying state of hotel.
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Sudhir (6/5): Not worth the money spent for the booking - Pool was good Rooms were old and jaded. Not very clean
- Natasha (9/5): Lovely rooms with a nice outdoor area to relax and close to walk to the shops at night - Great rooms, and lovely pool Food was very slow to come out and we weren’t informed that some items were not available until after we had ordered and waited an hour and followed up on them.

- Singh (10/5): Rainy day , make my day - what a nice day for us , drizzling rain nice pool experience, just a waooo , food awesome, staff so good, thanks ...
- Hiralkumar (7/5): Its good for airport distance - Breakfast is OK, this property is not as good as their sister property on Havelock. Elevator is a sauna, its outdoor with glass walls. Not nice using it after a shower, will be drenched with sweat again, some tints on the glass walls would help.
- Reddy (10/5): Waoo - Nice garden Resort, pool just a waoooo , staff friendly , Nice experience ...

- Singh (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent stay, walk to garden. Food options are very good. Complimentary breakfast was very tasty and many options, The hotel is neat and clean with many rooms. Staffs are polite and helpful. Definitely recommendable to everyone ..
- Parthi (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious room and bathroom, safe and secured. Cleanliness: There was stagnant water below the western closet, and the washbasin drain was clogged, resulting in a slow drain.
Also The fan regulator is not working .
- Arwa (6/5): Okay - Ambiance was good Bed was not comfortable ,water heater was not working , water was slow in the bathroom room was stinking .
- Felix (7/5): Good - Room pool and restaurant
- Simon (7/5): Fine but not deluxe - The pool and bar were very good — the kingfisher was cold as were the glasses - food by the bar was good as well - great place at night The bedroom a/c was noisy and not really controllable - the shower power was on the weak side to say the least
- Joram (7/5): Good - 1. Villa
2. Swimming pool
3. Beach access 1. The journey to reach the property. Portblair and Havelock Jettys need serious infrastructure upgradation
2. Front desk delayed response
3. Resort Landscaping is very shoddy
4. Breakfast buffet - limited choice
5. Weather
- Arindam (8/5): Very good -
- Namrata (4/5): Disappointing - Location n staff were helpful Definitely needed repairs in the room, which was disappointing for the cost they charged .
Also the menu was quite limited and highly priced
- Konstantin (4/5): Disappointing - Unexpectedly huge price for that quality and type of service. Just a motel type accommodation (very depreciated). It was only for night stay. Do not recommend
- Juan (10/5): Great - great pool, great staff, all good nothing. all good
- Dheeraj (5/5): Okay'ish stay at Silver Sand Sentinel resort - Room was spacious and comfortable. Location is in some slum area , not so good view around the hotel. We even went back in our cab thinking we were in the wrong area for once.
Staff was poorly trained. One of the staffs who visited the room with the milk entered the room directly , twice, without even waiting for us to open it. He brought the milk uncovered ! And it was cold , so we had to send it back again.
The reception argued over the booking especially for an extra bed when it was clearly mentioned that the booking was done for the exact pax . They were cribbed over discount from booking.com that we had got and later acknowledged that it was between them and the vendor, finally providing the extra bed.
Just to mention - our stay at the other silver sand properties in Havelock and Neil was great though.
- Mallikarjun (9/5): exceptional experience - The front desk of the hotel-- Mr. Aman, Ms. Eba, and Mr. Vikram Rai are very cooperative and they will guide you to good places in Andaman and they made a very quick booking in Havelock island and comfort you with hotel ambiance, The WIFI of the floor and its room needs to be improved.
- Ananga (9/5): Superb -
- Susobhan (4/5): Disappointing - I did not like anything about this hotel. This is not even 1 star. The swimming pool was dirty, the room were not cleaned properly. They did not give fresh towels. The bed sheet was not changed. The washroom hand shutter was not working properly. Breakfast options were very limited. The restaurant was over priced.
- Derek (9/5): Superb -
- Ronak (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kartik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (8/5): City centre location with pool, but no private outdoor space - Location in centre of town was good for us. Able to walk to and from the main sights and interesting areas.
The pool was a good size and maintained well all through the day by a dedicated pool attendant.
The pool side bar was a welcome outdoor space to enjoy a few evening drinks and was tended by very friendly bar staff. The room was advertised as having a balcony ...... don't be fooled! ..... it is not a private balcony but a corridor spanning across all the rooms on the floor with no where to sit out and no balcony furniture 😕
The only window in the room looked out onto the corridor, hence we could not open the curtains for natural light without being on full view to all passers by!
The breakfast was adequate but the dining room and tables were not very clean.
- Louis (9/5): Superb -
- Rajeev (10/5): very good - room area, surrounding, front desk staff live music near the bar was missing
- Sarkar (10/5): One of the best hotel in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Comfortable stay and well behaved staff's. -
- Sabrina (7/5): Nice place. Room for improvement. - The restaurant staff was great and dinner was very tasty.
Nice location tucked away from the chaos of town. Wi-Fi network very unstable due to poor design.
Area near swimming pool infested with mosquitos due to rotting leaves between the deck planks.
Very frustrated with searching town for a working ATM as reception told us that we would be unable to pay with a foreign card. As it turns out, it seems that they just don't want you paying with a foreign card and keep the foreign card machine tucked away in the back office.
- Nideesh (8/5): Very good -
- Aasna (10/5): great place - Located close to all major city attractions. Good place for transit stay to Havelock or Neil. Rooms were very good with modern interior. There is pool as well in the property . Loved our stay here breakfast spread could be better otherwise rest was fine.
- Vineet (10/5): Great stay at hotel.Sentinel - Outstanding stay at hotel Sentinel. Great staff. Extremely helpful. Excellent food. Worth.the money
- Phillip (10/5): Central - Location perfect for site seeing, staff more than helpful, good size room tv tea maker etc, nice bathroom plenty hot water, on site restaurant excellent. WiFi bit intermittent pool are good and bar overall a good stay
- jay (4/5): Never again !!!!!! - The hotel is is very remote. The staff are amazing. They will try to help you any way they can. The elevators barely work. Had to lug bags down 2 floors early morning. The restaurant is average at best. Not a place I would recommend. I would prefer Sea Shell which looks well maintained and a great rooftop bar with a amazing view.
The beds are lumpy and uncomfortable. Bathroom shower for women is great if you want to wash your hair everyday. The layout is pretty bad as the only window falls on to a walkway to the rooms.
- Roman (6/5): No wifi - Zero wifi in rooms
Only on lobby and that too very poor
- Saunak (8/5): Nice and Quite hotel, good for relaxing vacation - Stayed for one day, as had come for business meetings. Very polite and helpful personnel always ready to assist.
Only issue was slow wifi, which seems to be an island wide issue.
