- David (8/5): - My only complaints would be regarding the television picture and DirecTv. The signal kept cutting out/freezing and some channels had NO signal. While the TV was a flat screen the picture quality was like watching an old 480p tv.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Overnight stay - The hotel needs a lot of updates our bathroom light kept flickering and one of the electric plugs on both sides did not work and we had to wait to check in because the owner must live in the hotel because he was in the shower but he was friendly
- Kathryn (6/5): - Whilebi do think management is trying to clean things up, there were several issues i had with my stay. The buildibg was non smoking, but someone was clearly smoking weed and then lit an incense likenthat would help the smell in the hall. My first room was kissing the deadbolt and had obviously been pried open from the outside. The staff was kind enough, but did seem irritated when i wanted to switch rooms for safety. I am a female traveling alone with my service dog. The staff also asked for documentation of my service animal. Which does not exist in the US. I highly recomend the staff brush up on ADA law.

Toilet paper holder dangling off wall. Holes in drywall patched but not painted. Rough sheets felt like sand paper. Heater loud when running. Lumpy bed killed my back and hips.

- Sharita (1/5): Bad - It was near where I was working. Management wanted me to pay at the location even though I was using the booking app to reserve my stay. He was very rude. House keepers were nice and friendly.
- Willis (1/5): lock on door broken/broken door latch/Terrible attitude/nosy/good A/C/Crappy Breakfast - The Temperature control in the room. *warning* check your room before staying. Terrible room and service. The first room they gave me the door did not lock. And the door latch was broken! I told them, then they the guy tried to act like I was crazy. He 100% be it was broke already and tried to act like it wasn’t. I also saw a *Cockroach* in our bathroom. Like other reviews state, the breakfast was terrible. The owners live behind the counter and sleep in the morning so none is at the checkout desk. They were also nosy, watching me move my car and unload it the whole time.

- Christopher (6/5): Not good but no better choices nearby - Well, on the bright side it probably is the best hotel in Fairfield... but it's not nice. It looks and feels like a nursing home, the guy at the front is not friendly, it's very old, and the 'free breakfast' (and I'm not kidding) was fruit loops, milk and coffee. The only 2 upsides were the older ladies that did the housekeeping were very kind and there was a restaurant next door that was okay.

There wasnt hardly even basic channels on tv. Of the 12 channels they had, even they were staticy. The continental brekfast was stale honey buns and old muffins.

However, our room was very clean and everything was good except for the air conditioner which vibrated and made noise. Reported it to the staff so hopefully the next visitors will get a better night’s sleep.

The tv was too small and there were guests hanging out in front the hotel. They were also hanging out in the hallways.

- Jthoma (2/5): A roof over your head in a pinch - Only thing going for this place is that it's located next to an excellent cafe/diner The pool hasn't been a thing here for quite some time it's closed down and was the main reason we chose the hotel instead of driving for another half hour. The beds made me feel like we were better off just camping out or sleeping on the floor as they were so uncomfortable. The breakfast is a joke open gallon of milk and stale cereal.

Breakfast was really poor and just ceriel and old milk. - August (10/5): Nice place - Location OK; nice restaurant right across parking lot from motel. Room comfortable: bed and pillow good, wi-fi worked well. Staff friendly. Price was very high, but this was to be expected—it was the evening of the day of the total eclipse, and motel prices everywhere nearby were horrific. No other complaints.

Heater/AC unit didn’t work and there was a small heater on the table. The rooms were in generally poor condition. We asked for a refund of our 3 day, 2 room stay and were refused anything back. Employee was rude. Six hundred plus bucks down the drain. Don’t stay here, it’s bad.

- Shipley (1/5): Horrible 😞 stay 🤢 gross - The only good thing about this hotel is the free wifi That there was bedbugs and cockroachs everywhere and I payed almost 100$ to leave with bites all over me and the manager was disrespectful and rude when I called to tell him he had bedbugs and cockroachs he told me I was lieing so I took two cups and put a cockroach between the two and took it to him then he proceeded to accuse me of branging them there

- Jason (4/5): - The house keeping staff was fantastic! But the state of the hotel is sad. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so when you get out of the shower the walls are wet from condensation. The popcorn ceiling above the tub/ shower was peeling off and hanging down from the dry wall. The shower curtain rod was coming falling off the wall at one end. There was missing drywall which has molded in the bathroom. There was a burn mark on the carpet from the iron. Carpet did not feel clean and there were dead crickets on the floor. The mattress covers were stained on the sides. There was a mildew smell in the room due to the humidity due to the lack of an exhaust fan. Mattresses were very firm. Hotel could benefit from a lot of updating.

- Pamela (1/5): Very disappointed - It was decently clean Needs major updates, the fan in the bathroom didn’t work and got very warm with showers, paint on walls are peeling. manager/owner was very rude, he and his family stayed in their “apartment” the whole time, you had to dial a phone to get an answer for anything and most of the time they didn’t have any decency by coming out to talk with you in person. The vending machine took my money but I was unable to get anything from the machine and it wouldn’t return my money. I had to argue with the manager to even get refunded.

- Dianne (3/5): Bed bugs - This is the only hotel in fairfeild ...the location is good ..they have pool which is good...the rooms appear to be fairly clean except they have bed bugs. When checking out the staff refussed to come to the counter it was done iver the phone they gave ..when telling the staff that I was checking out room 115 that I slept the the lounge chair due to they have bega buds the stagg was not at all concerned
- Linda (2/5): If you want Hotel experience worse than Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO - Stay at the BRIARWOOD HOTEL!!! - The hotel was HORRIBLE! The linens were stained and bloody, and when I reached out to the cleaning staff, they acknowledged the problem but said they couldn't do anything about it! When I checked in, the "manager/owner" had already charged my credit card the previous night, although I had YET TO ARRIVE! So my card was charged before my ARRIVAL! What if I had not arrived - I understand there are guaranteed bookings; however, this was UNHEARD OF! Additionally, when I complained to the "manager/owner" about the BLOODY stains on the linens, he told me he wasn't going to do anything to change it! Photos included! There were electrical outlets that didn't function, the ones that DID work were inconvenient, and I had to plug in my electronic devices across the room to charge them! Therefore, if I wanted to use my phone as an alarm clock or check the time at night, I had to get out of bed to do so! Oh, I almost forgot to mention, bring your own pillows because the "tee-tiny" excuses for headrests they provide are laughable at best! Pictures are supplied with my car keys & sunglasses included for size reference! And, unfortunately, most of my photos won't upload to the Booking.com site! Just another "bug" regarding the entire stay... And when requesting an adjustment in my Booking.com bill... "crickets..." I didn't like the owner, his attitude of indifference, the horrible state of the room when I arrived, and the even more intolerable way I was treated when I attempted to rectify the situation! As if I WAS THE ONE INCONVENIENCING the OWNER/MANAGER! How RUDE of ME to ask HIM for Clean Sheets, Clean Towles, or even a working Electrical outlet? HOW OUTLANDISH WAS I TO EXPECT THESE THINGS IN A HOTEL ROOM???

- Angelica (2/5): Not ADA Service Dog Compliant as per ADA Law - Housekeeping was great. Thorough, professional, courteous, friendly, trustworthy. I had made reservations 2 weeks prior to check in. Owner was rude and unknowledgeable about the ADA laws of service dogs. Didn't want to check me in stating no pet policy and he required papers and service dog ID which is against the law but he tried saying it was required by law. Would not accept me stating what service the dog performs. Then made me pay pet fee per night cuz I didn't provide the paperwork or ID. (I didn't think to grab anything before leaving home as I have never needed it over the years ) There is no other hotel in this town so I reluctantly paid the extra fee. (Nearest town was 45 minutes away) He talked down to me as if I was inconveniencing him and making him reassign rooms stating my reserved king bed room can not have any pets and his double bed rooms that can have pets were all booked. Then very rudely told me my dog must not ever bark and must never stay in room unaccompanied. Well duh the dog goes EVERWHERE I go he is my service dog.

Asked about internet and he said its spotty not working. never gave a password. Checked my computer and had 5 bars. but no access. bathroom shower head floppy in the wall and head was filthy. Sheets were hard, (no softener added) felt like hard paper to cover with. Worst was Box spring bag cover. Had ugly stains like blood spots and other nasty things. i took pictures and if i posted this place would be closed.
