Guest Reviews
- Kjartan (10/5): Cozy, great location and affordable - Every thing was just lovely. Nice private room. You get every thing you need. It was also close to all the places I wanted to visit (walking distance, or a short bus ride away) from HR - if you know, you know. Including Relay Coffee, The Pink Tunnel at Shamrock Park, the NY-bodega and several bars and restaurants from the show. Even Dundurn Castle is a short bus ride away. The guesthouse was in a perfect location for all those sights. It was also very affordable. A cozy guesthouse I highly recommend! I will definitely stay here again if I ever return to Hamilton. A hidden gem! Nothing. Every thing was perfect!
- Deborah (9/5): We live staying here and will be back later this year - Close proximity to all of our needs. We can walk to everything All good
- biggins (7/5): - Great staff, location, fast breakfast. Love the hostel concept in a downtown location. Soft, foam, mattresses and hard pillows made for a lumpy sleep on the bunk beds.

- Deborah (9/5): We love it and keep going back there to stay! - Location is great we walk to everything. Close to all amenities if you like to prep your own meals. All good

- Hatem (1/5): - I made a booking for this today in Toronto, rented a car, and came here to the address — only to be surprised that the reservation does not exist. I was told to request a refund from you. The reason given was that the issue came from the website itself, but that’s not my problem, because I made the booking through your service. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially since my booking was confirmed. Such issues could harm your reputation in the future.
- Pitchya (10/5): Our stay was quite pleasant. - Short distances to where we wanted to go, especially restaurants. Nearby restaurants accept cash and debit only and don't provide receipts. Town folks seem a bit cold.
- Jonathan (9/5): Comfortable and convenient for the city - I'll definitely stay there again! - Though it's a hostel I stayed in the double room. Lovely big bed. Plugs near the bed. Bedside light. Shower and toilet just outside my room. Shower was lovely! Kitchen downstairs to cook your own meals. Milk, cereal, tea and coffee supplied. Several people were staying so you have to label you own food if you use the fridge - this worked really well. Communal living room which was very nice. About 15-20 minutes walk from the TD Coliseum which was great. Safe and secure entrances. The hotel/hostel prefers online bookings. A very friendly welcome from the owner! :-)
- Jonathan (9/5): Lovely - I'll stay there again! - I had two bookings so my comments are the same - Though it's a hostel I stayed in the double room with a lovely big bed.
- Cornelia (8/5): Ich komme wieder! - Urgemütliches Hostel mitten in Hamilton. Netter Empfang. Zimmer, Küche, Aufenthaltsraum, Bäder, Waschmaschine, Trockner - alles top! Was will man mehr.
- Nicolas (10/5): - I had a nice one night stay. The place is very well kept and the kitchen is properly maintained.
- Lley Ray (10/5): - Kitchen was great. Very clean. Everyone in the hospital was respectful of one another. I didn't bring my pet but something tells me she probably would have been welcome. The staff, the staff was great the owners are great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in a nice clean quiet place that is inexpensive and yet very Central and possesses all the amenities one could want. Down to earth people.
- Dahlia (10/5): - Very good spot
- Ekaterina (1/5): Don't recommend to 7anyone because it could be not save for your health. - I am Bio-Chemist professional stayed at this hostel for six nights...Clean and well organized place but don't recommend any of real Travelers. I don't know who was writing this positive reviews with such a high marks on which I was relied... Probably some homeless people from nearby visinity?! I believe now this place is controlled by paid criminals... I was sick almost every morning because of unpleasant toxic smell and some irradiation coming from somewhere (feel like it is 5G is standing close to your bed). The symptons of sickness was disappearing by itself after I was walking outside. Look like such a service problems are a new life reality... :( This is old house in Hamilton downtown with terrible toxic smell coming probably from ventilation system and some irradiation mostly at night giving some bones pain and headach...
- Claros (10/5): -
- Audrey (10/5): - Had the private room on the bottom floor. Comfortable, quiet, and homey. The room was surprisingly large. I was given a tour at check in, and everyone there was very kind.
- Vanessa (10/5): Awesome stay! - It was fantastic! Greatly appreciated the stay. Awesome people
- Alex (10/5): very good place to stay - Everything Nothing
- Tomoka (9/5): Stay in the beautiful heritage house with a great hosts! - Everything was wonderful! Tim is very friendly and accommodating and the house has a history and character. Learning about the house itself was already interesting and I could mentally take a time travel to 100 years ago! It is such a wonderful experience to be in a heritage house! I appreciated the access to the kitchen. I can see myself staying there for a longer period of time.
- Luca (9/5): - L' ostello è ben tenuto all' interno, posto all' interno per la bicicletta. Pulizia e privacy rispettata.
- Chen (10/5): You should stay longer and talk to the owner Tim - Worth to come live if you come to Hamilton ON You would never experience this in Canada
- JAMES (9/5): Good value for money - Bathroom and kitchen and rooms were clean
- Victor (8/5): -
- Leo (10/5): - Nice cozy place and very friendly staff. I very much recommend.
- Martha (10/5): - we had the private room right at the front of the house. Lovely hostess.

- Oleksandra (10/5): I love this place ❤️ - Incredible!❤️ Unbelievable!❤️ If I could give it more than 10, I would! Beautiful, clean, comfortable, cozy. Very welcoming people! I had everything I needed and even more! Special mention to the owners for organizing the space, I admire how they thought of everything down to the smallest details (very nice signed cabinets in the kitchen). This is one of the best places I've stayed. I'm delighted! ❤️
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Location a little outside the center, but a large grocery store nearby
- Annie (10/5): Clean and nice central place for easy walkable commute with the opportunity to meet fellow travellers. - Very nice place to stay with lovely common spaces like living room and kitchen where it was nice to chat with fellow travellers:
- Mariam (8/5): Very good -
- Batch (10/5): Great - The place is super clean, and very close to downtown, the lady there is great.i will recommend the place to others.
- Julia (10/5): - The Pring Guesthouse is a warm and welcoming, extremely clean house with lots of fun little extras including a full kitchen, free cereal and treats, a bookcase full of board games, and tv and books for entertainment. There’s lots of fun maps and brochures about the Hamilton area. The hosts were very kind and welcoming and helpful and the hostel is quite charming and affordable. I would stay again. Thank you Pring Guesthouse!
- Southernranger23 (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (10/5): - The property and staff itself are amazing but it is located on one of the most dangerous intersections in Hamilton. Absolutely worth the stay but just be careful of the area.
- Robertson (9/5): Very nice experience - Everything was very nice. Good concept. Affordable and unique experience at Hamilton if you want to enjoy a nice and home-like moment along with nice staff and guests from everywhere. All appliances and other stuff around are available for you.
Ideal not only for solo travelers but also small families. I know that all heaters are working properly, but sometimes you feel they aren't particularly into the room that we were in. Namely, it was very cold during my night in winter, and we didn't feel the heat of the radiator.
- Dr (9/5): Superb -
- Isabella (8/5): Very good -
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely well organized, great amenities, quiet, near James st downtown, very friendly owners, perfectly clean. This place has everything you need and so many nice little touches. One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at.
- Lan (8/5): Thanks the host lady for letting me check in very early since my flight was 2am and I reached there at 5am. - Cleanliness and location. The facilities are all set: coffee, tea (many types), cereals, milk, laundry, shower and washroom are super clean. Not really
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (10/5): love it so much - super close to bus stops and easy to find, staff was excellent and i ended up free upgrade. the kitchen was sooo cute was a little noisy
- Madiha (5/5): Passable -
- Ewelina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenia (9/5): Location is very good, it’s clean. Reception is working 24/7 so you can check in anytime. They organize free walking - It’s clean house with many rooms, even have laundry if someone need it ( I don’t use it)
- Bartosz (10/5): Exceptional - Really comfortable stay for a hostel, the single room has everything that's needed. Easy to park outside, coffee, tea, cereals and cookies available for breakfast in the dining area. The room was just next to the dorm room - someone woke me up in the middle of the night desperately trying to get inside - I guess they thought it was the dorm room so maybe larger signs on the doors would help
- Dan (7/5): Good -
- Rita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (9/5): Superb - Luvly quirky place. Comp cookies when I was there. Washing facilities, choice of tea coffee and cereal. Nice chai teabags.... They might still have some left after me. Not the best neighbourhood, but central.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wafiq (10/5): - I loved the coziness of the house, the concierge was very nice and polite and there were friendly people staying at the house as well.
- Rauf (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I appreciated the comfort of my guestroom, with it's generously sized bed and other furniture. The features allowed easy storage and retrieval of my travel possessions. The kitchen was large and well- equipped for preparing meals as one would at home; the bathroom was spotless, and possessed modern hardware features and well sorted, abundant grooming supplies essential to my requirements. The comprehensive and well laid out amenities in all spaces enabled satisfying rest and thorough and snappy preparation the next morning.I ended my stay invigorated and grateful not only for the quality of my accommodation, but also for the friendly service offered at all times during my stay.
- Anna (10/5): Great place for a quick stay - Super cute place close to downtown. Breakfast was included too! It was a small room and smelled a little moldy but other than that very happy with the stay!
- Tomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fenn (10/5): Best community-focused backpacking hostel I have EVER visited - I honestly think this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. In recent years I've stayed in a lot of the highly commercialised chain hostels, and nothing against them (a bed's a bed), but this is such a refreshing change from that -- you can tell the love that's gone into every aspect of the design in this place. The owners are so kind and clearly love/know the area well. I got a heads-up from them about a nearby street festival that I wouldn't have known about otherwise, and suffice to say was thoroughly grateful for it! Hamilton would've just been a quick overnight stop for me otherwise, but I ended up changing my train times just to stay there longer and appreciate the city.
There's a guest-curated map of local highlights, there are board games and books galore, it's small enough to be friendly rather than overwhelming -- this whole place feels like a true ode to community. And they have guinea pigs! One tiny tiny thing is that the curtains on my bunk bed didn't quite fit all the way round, though most others in the room did. Not too bad though, when a lot of hostels don't have privacy curtains on the beds at all, haha.
- Reuben (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy bed, good value for money, friendly staff, free breakfast and coffee
- Celina (8/5): - Owner was very welcoming, easy to check-in!
- Sharon (8/5): A gem in the Rough - The comfy bed .. coffee available.. the architecture..the staff.. The downstairs shower was too hot 🔥.. the dorm with other people . Next time I will get a solo . Since I wanted to sleep early .
- Fiona (8/5): Very good - Instantly welcoming and homely. PGH thought of everything from free tea, coffee and breakfast cereals to clean towels included and handy maps of the area. Beds were really comfortable and had privacy. Nice shared spaces and fully equipped kitchen.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic - It was a great hostel/ guesthouse. Even with shared bathrooms everything was kept clean. Kitchen area was great and lovely baked cookies. Even facilities for getting clothes washed and dried. Tim and Tanya were great hosts. Beautiful house and home.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ampa (10/5): Excellent - I have traveled a lot and I usually stay in hostels. This is one of the best. The staff is very kind, the place is clean, comfortable and quiet. They offer many complimentary things that hostels don't usually offer. If I come back I'm absolutely choosing this place again.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Perfect stay! :) - The staff was very welcoming! Check in was very simple and fast. I got a tour of the house by the staff upon arrival. They provided towels for the hot shower, and good breakfast which included oats, cookies and cereal. I appreciated this very much! The kitchen was very well organized with labeling where each utensil is located so not to search thousands of drawers to find the right thing needed. Also, there were clear instructions on keeping the place tidy and clean, so the guesthouse was very clean and the guests were very respectful of these rules. I stayed in the faust room which was very spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Thank you so much staff! My stay with you was amazing.
- Taylor (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): - very clean and quiet place to stay
