Thomas481966 (2/5): dead hotel....avoid - i use to work here back in 80s-90s early 2000s and i stopped buy today (5-11-24) and it is no longer open to pubic it is run down like hell just junk and trash all over even a snack machine with snacks still in it lays in back parking lot area.. just so sad to see it.. avoid the area... even potholes on road leading in to hotel

bwerez2011 (2/5): DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! - Huge potholes everywhere! Our bathroom toilet was disgusting and not cleaned! No heat or hot water in the room. We had to use a space heater. No tv or WiFi. No bar or restaurant open like it shows on the website. No spa. No horses. Junk outside everywhere! Hotel had a security guard that sat at the lobby desk with an assault rifle which was pretty odd. This place is horrible! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Nothing like the pictures on the website!!
Travel14396695456 (2/5): Do Not Stay Here - Stay there with a group. First thing that we noticed was how dirty the floors were. And then noticed it was no TV. Front desk said they had them removed for a prior group? The mattress had mold on it, the pictures will tell the rest.
Amber (2/5): - This property was abandoned. You should delete them from your website. I was attending an event that I paid for and I made this reservation months ago. I had to scramble to find other accommodations for me and my guest. This was unacceptable.
paulp9142 (10/5): Second times the charm!! - This is my second time visiting mountain laurel resort. Booked a room literally last minute, the host were happy to help us out. There is some renovation happening around so it looks a little rough around the edges. But overall it was worth the money I paid for.
arid2923 (2/5): Stay away!!! Scammers and thieves - STAY AWAY. SCAM!!! This hotel is a dumpster fire. I brought in a group in January. They had not paid a heating bill so they had the heat shut off. They barely got the heat on in time, but it still took a long time for the heat to get started and a lot of my guess slept without heat. The ballroom that they were supposed to arrange was not set up, and also had new heat. Many rooms were still dirty from the previous guests and had no room service in there to change the sheets or clean out the garbages. Management is completely unresponsive and it appears like the owners inexperienced nephew is trying to run the place, very incompetently. Neither me, or any of my guests would stay there even if it was offered for free.
MalcolmMcK (2/5): Bankrupt, Financially and Morally - Avoid this bankrupt business at all costs. The website is a generic pastiche unrelated to the actual resort. Facilities are run down, staff is minimal and dispirited, and the management is non-existent. If anyone approaches you to consider buying a timeshare through this horrible place, run away. The new owners have been in bankruptcy court in Jamaica, NY (for a PA resort) for more than a year and are trying to drag out their thievery as long as possible.
Ruzhenka (2/5): worst stay ever - this hotel was awful the ceiling in the hallway was leaking after rain.in our room the shower did not work. screen door was falling out .the bed sheets were missing from under the blankets.the indoor pool was freezing the jacuzzi was moldy and had a hole with dirty water coming out of it. the doors of the public bathrooms did not lock they were broken. in my friends room brown water came out of the shower and the toilet was broken. the whole place was falling apart. I rated this hotel one star if I could I would rate it zero. worst stay for me and my friends
Verified traveler (2/5): IT WAS A SCAM. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER - Had a very bad experience. This place was not as advertised. None of the amenities like restaurant, bar, spa, golf, etc were functional. There will be no room service. The management did a very poor job of double booking and assigning the same room. Our room was also assigned to another couple and suddenly they barged in 12 am midnight. It was an absolute nightmare. And we couldnt even call the reception as the intercom was not working. On total there might be only 4 staff working in the entire resort. WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE . This was a big scam. If the management wants to rent, they should clearly mention only the available features and not deceive people.

No safety chains or locks or lighting when the power went out. Kids running around the parking lot and halls a lot and very noisy. The setting is nice but need to do lots of work to restore

Then they put us in another room that didnt exist then they tried to put us in a handicapped room which indidnt feel comfortable taking. The air conditioner didnt work. They tried putting us in double bed room and i paid for a king bed. We left and had to find another hotel, we did which was 140 dollars more , when we told them they would not reimburse us thebextra money. Also i am having trouble getting my money back soni had to dispute the charges which then deactivated my card now i have to get a new card. DONT GO THERE
Bobbie L (2/5): - The property : there were piles of old beds that you could see from the road, when you walked around the inside of the property there was audible water leaks. The Gym was closed, there was no restaurant onsite there was no Bar onsite. There was no internet in the room that we stayed in, the TV did not work. The tub leaked They charged us for the Room after Expedia had already charged us, and the charge had processed. This was the worst hotel experience I have every had, and I and my husband go to local hotels to just ' get away" for the weekend. positives: The King sized bed was comfortable, The A/C worked well. The view of the lake was very pretty. The patio over look from the room was very nice. We reserved a horse back ride at a stable next door, and it was very nice. They are not directly connected to the hotel, but next door.
Verified traveler (4/5): - There was no working elevator. Had to change rooms to accommodate my handicap wife. Then lost oower from a storm. No emergency lighting in the halls. Room could have been better cleaned. And i think there may have been mold on the walls. Would not stay here again.
Joseph_Travel-Pro (10/5): Beat all expectations - We went for a weekend get-together my entire extended family we were a pretty large group. From the beginning of the planning stage we were so impressed with the dedication and attentiveness of "Sugey" the GM. He was available via his personal cell whenever we had any questions. he went out of his way to accommodate any requests we had. he personally met us at the FD and waited past mid-night to welcome the guests coming from as far as Canada. When we entered our 2 bedroom Suite we were literally blown away! the room was HUGE. 2 beautifully decorated bedrooms a huge living area with 2 couches that can pull out as beds. 2 large dining tables. a cozy kitchen. Then we stapped out to the deck (3 decks actually from each room) we were again stunned by the breth-taking view. the well know POCONO Mountains and the stunning lake. just breath-taking. The FD Receptionist Safwad was super nice. he gave us amaing tips of close by attractions. The pool was amazingly well kept. the Sauna was so relaxing and clean. We had rented out the Tree-top ballroom for the meals. it was evidently lately redone. it was huge, modern and clean. The entire weekend was an experience above all expectations. We can't wait to come back!

I planned a get away for my husband’s birthday; recently married and on a budget, I gave this place a shot. Worst decision ever. The staff was rude, slow, and didn’t seem to care that we did not feel safe. I went through hell and back to get a the reservation canceled and my money back. I ended up going to a Marriott (paid more) about 15 miles from here to avoid ruining the weekend plans. I really wish Expedia vetted this establishment bc it should not be listed on their site. You will surely find that you get what you pay for if you take the gamble to try it out. PS- no amenities were available.

Verified traveler (2/5): THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! - The place needs to be inspected. This place looks nothing like described or advertised. Neither website or 3rd party have any correct information other than address & phone number. The only thing that works is the lights are on & not even all over. The pool has no lights nor a life guard. Game room doesn’t work. Restaurant is SHUT DOWN already. Bar is SHUT DOWN. SOME ROOMS DONT HAVE TVS & the WIFI DOESNT WORK. The front desk people lie to cover everything so don’t pay them any mind.
Brielle (10/5): Very pleasant - We had a great time. It is a much quieter hotel and not as updated as others but an overrall great stay. They allowed us to use certain amenities when other hotels would restrict past 10 pm and really allowed us to enjoy our time there. From the time we walked in front door and i to our room our check in took maybe 5-10 mins. Our room was exceptionally clean. We booked the executive sweet for a price of under 500$ the place was huge. I would definitely recommend and come back to this place for another stay

catherinesE7553EC (2/5): Scam/false advertising and Horror Hotel similar to the Shining except filthy - This place is a complete scam. The website is fraudulent. It has pics and amenities that do not exist. First off, there is no spa at all as it says they have. It doesn’t exist. It also says it has a fancy restaurant on the site. Nope. That doesn’t exist either. They have a small bar with a few liquors and some pub food…mainly appetizer stuff. The website says restaurant with meals ranging from 50 and up. Food they have is snack food and garbage. Next, they say they offer a mini golf course. Well this exists however, it is unplayable. Weeds and grass are over grown and there is no way one can play. The indoor pool is cold and dirty. Jacuzzi also cold and dirty. Garbage all over grounds. No security. Anyone can come in. Doors are open everywhere. There are only 4 staff people which does not include cleaning service. There is no one who cleans. There were about 4 customers besides us there. It was desolate and should be condemned. I’m shocked it is still running and no one has come to shut it down. It is not at all safe on many levels. It is is filthy as well. Pics on website are completely false. There was also an animal in our room running in the walls and the worst was the fridge started bowling in the middle of the night. We attempted to call desk but no one was there and no staff around so we left in middle of the night. Run!!

I TRAVELED FROM NY TO THIS LOCATION ON A RAINING STORMING DAY TAKING US 3HRS TO GET THERE TIRED & HUNGRY. ONCE WE GOT THERE JUST THE SIGHT OF THE OUTSIDE HOTEL LOOKED LIKE A HAUNTED MOTEL, DARK AND JUST UGLY. OK, I TRIED OVERLOOKING THE OUTSIDE AND STAYING POSITIVE, AS SOON WE WERE WALKING INSIDE THE LOBBY MY SISTER SLIPPED AND FELL ON THEIR SLIPPERY WET FLOORS WITH(NO WET FLOORS SIGN) ON SITE, BRUISING HER ARM.. WE LET THEM KNOW AND THATS WHEN THEY PROCEEDED TO PLACE ONE. CHECKING IN THEIR COMPUTER WERE DOWN SO MANAGER DID EVERYTHING VIA PHONE, THEY HAD ME GIVING EXTRA PERSONAL IMFORMATION THAT I NEVER HAD BEFORE, OH BOY, THEY SHOWED US THE 2BD RM SUITE, FIRST THING I SEEN WAS RAT DROPPINGS IN THE KITCHEN COUNTER, NASTY. BATHROOM TUBS PEELING AND MOLD ALL OVER, LIVINGROOM SOFA WAS DIRTY AND DAMP. EVERYTHING IN THE SUITE FELT DIRTY. I TOOK PICTURES OF RAT DROPPINGS, THEY TRIED ACCOMMODATING US UPSTAIRS, LETTING US KNOW THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS NO AIR-CONDITIONER WAS WORKING ON THE SECOND FLOOR OMG. TERRIBLE LOBBY HALLWAYS WERE HOT, HUMID, DIRTY AND SMELLY. THE SUITE UPSTAIRS WERE UNBRETHEABLE. THEY SHOWED US ANOTHER ONE BACK DOWSTAIRS AND GUESS WHAT? MORE RAT DROPPINGS ON THE KITCHEN COUNTERTOP. THEY HAD TO REFUND ME, HAVING MY FAMILY AND I BOOK AT THE HOLIDAY INN AND SHORT OF MONEY WAITING ON MY REFUND 5 TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS. 3 DAYS LATER MY DEBIT CARD WAS FRAUDULENT USED. IT WAS THEM!

They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable and also were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early. We got to resort super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there.
Vermaid (10/5): - The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a resoert and also were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. They also were able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed as well, highly recommended
Mobile286093 (2/5): DON'T EVER GO TO MOUNTAIN LAUREL RESORT - I was scheduled to be there from November 4th - 11th. 2022 but the conditions were so bad that we left on November 5th, 2022. We are members of a timeshare sold to us by Split Rock Resorts some years back when Split Rock actually owned Mountain Laurel as well. Since then Split Rock has sol Mountain Laurel and the conditions of Mountain Laurel were deplorable. The Gym was filthy, Dining area, pool and all other ameninties were not in operation. They had Insigma cable (obsolete) and only had 6 channels. There was a smell of mold througout the building, suites were horrible and semi clean. The new owner did not like that we were complaining and called the police which the police could do nothing because we had a right to complain. This resort is not longer with Interval International because of it's deplorable conditions. And they refused to give a refund. It was the absolute worst condtions I've ever experienced with a resort or otherwse.

amanda123455555555 (10/5): Excellent stay - We had the best time ever at the Mountain Laurel Resort. Beautiful views, a fantastic pool, and first-rate accommodations. The various games provided by the resort were fantastic. It's well worth the money. It's also close to a number of ski areas.
L1743IWrobertk (10/5): Experience - At first, I was hesitant to visit the resort after reading a few negative reviews. But I was surprised by the resort's cleanliness and amenities. I am very glad that I visited the place because I had a wonderful stay there.
760chandrab (2/5): Worst "resort" EVER! - To start off this fiasco, when we walked into the lobby there was a sign saying be back in 5 mins. About 3 mins later a man walk behind the desk and answers the phone and has a 5 minute long conversation which I over hear him apologizing and saying he will get a refund and how bad it sucks but he can't help there is a gas leak. Once he gets off the phone, us and another couple proceed to check in when he tells us that there is a gas leak and the resort is shut down! We had driven 2.5 hours and they had driven 3.5 and no attempt had been made to contact us to make us aware of this. He said we would get a refund of whatever we paid, but we are owners, so we paid maintenance fees last year, they aren't going to refund maintenance fees. So I ask if they could possibly put us in a different resort as I know they have another in the area. He said that would be up to corporate, but since we drove and were there he could look at putting us in the west wing, farthest from the leak, which we agreed to. He was courteous and very helpful the through it all. As we drove back to our parking lot the pot holes were horrible, there was trash all over the property, and it was not well maintained or even have nice landscaping. There was a huge weed growing in front of the resort sign, blocking the name. The first room we went to smelled musty and horrible. The sliding doors on the porch were hard to slide and falling off, the TV was missing in the bedroom, but the worst was the refrigerator and freezer were blowing hot air! I turned the temp down and still not cool. Went back and asked for another room. The second room was better, smell was a bit better. The fridge worked, but only 2 burners on the stove worked, but we delt with it. The patio doors about the same, hard to open and falling off. The light in the bathroom was not covered, u could see up into the fixture, there were cobwebs in the corner, the smoke alarm had tissue shoved in it, there were dead insects in the light fixture over the table and the floor felt dirty to walk on. We went to the market 5 miles down the road and got cleaning supplies and air freshener to make the place more livable. The entire week the hallway stench got worse by the day until finally by day 4 or 5 I couldn't even walk from the room to the car without keeping my shirt over my nose, the smell was that disgusting. After a very quiet first day, since the place was almost deserted, we thought we would have a quiet and relaxing night. WRONG! About 1030 we started hearing voices speaking Spanish in the hallway, that continued at least until 2-3 am. At some point I fell asleep. Around 1am heard the door handle jiggle and about 5 mins later a woman, I am assuming was cleaning, walked into my room!! She apologized and quickly left as my friend was sleeping on the couch and gave her a "look". I could hear them the entire night until I finally fell asleep. Who cleans rooms in the middle of the night?! The water temp in the shower was same as other reviews, warm, but not hot, even turned all the way up it was just comfortably warm, as expected since they told us they were having boiler problems. Our first full day there we drove down to check out mini golf, which, big surprise, is not in working order. It is all overgrown with reeds and weeds, the greens are tore up and there is no place to get golf balls or putters. We went for a walk around the property and the nature trail to check other amenities out. The tennis and basketball courts are all run down, fence falling down, light posts knocked over and on the ground, an old 4 wheeler broken down and abandoned. The nature trail was better than expected, not over grown, pretty muddy on some parts, but all the markers and signs are old, worn, broken, or missing. We just followed the paths and guessed what way to go and eventually came out by the horse stables, so we walked down and there was a man putting shoes on one of the horses, but the other 13 were in a muddy, rocky, uneven pasture with hardly any grass, just piles of hay they were munching on. Does not look like a proper pasture for them, but they do not look malnourished, and we did see people riding them one day. Another day we went down and they were near the fence looking at us so we called them over and fed them some of the knee high grass and they loved it. They really are beautiful creatures. The outdoor pool was dirty and needed skimmed. There were bugs, leaves, and debris in there because the water level was too low for it to filter. There wasn't any pump running to clean it, but it was hot so we swam. Very quiet as we were the only ones there for a while. 1 other family joined us the whole day. The pool area however is dirty, trash laying around, a broken pipe, life vests and lifeguard hip pack floating in the pool, no lifeguard on duty. Called to get more towels and wash cloths, the man told me they would bring them in 5-10 mins. 2 hours later I walked to the front desk and felt like I was in a scene from the movie the Village. There were teenage girls dressed in skirts and sweaters all over the lobby. Later, to find out there was some sort of Jewish summer camp going on. There was a pile of old computers, adding machines, and just old office supplies piled on the one wall of the lobby. There were a few of these girls behind the desk, which seemed weird, because I thought they were guests. They did not look like employees, but I asked for towels and washcloths and she was nice enough to bring them to the room. Wednesday bus loads of these girls arrived for the camp and they filled the lobby and hallways. We walked down through to get back to our room and the hallway literally was full of their luggage, trash, rollaway beds, ect. It would be a fire hazzard if codes showed up. That night at 1130 I was woke by singing. A large group was gathered in the pool area singing on what sounded like a megaphone! I was just appalled. By this point I'm wondering if there really ever was a gas leak or if they were clearing the resort for this camp, because they have completely taken over just about every area in the resort. Friday night a man knocked on the door to see if it was occupied because their system was down and they didn't know what guests they had!! We called for TP and they never brought it. That night could barely sleep because the people in the next room were playing loud music. The last day we were there we went to go to the pool to relax, now mind you the same pool we had been swimming in all week, and it was locked. The day before a man came with the key and unlocked it for us, but this time we were told it was closed and we could use the indoor pool. Now, why, after we had been using this pool all week is it suddenly closed. I mean we saw a sign in the lobby that said it was closed when we arrived, but they never stopped us before. I just don't get why they would close the outdoor pool in the summer, noone wants to swim indoors when it's hot and beautiful out. Needless to say, we packed our things and left, that was the last straw. Nothing else to do here but swim and now that isn't even available. All in all, my stay was good because I was with good company, got away and relaxed for the most part, but the state of the resort and the feeling that something was just off with this place I will not be returning. In fact, I am going to contact a lawyer to see how I can get out of this contract as an owner, because clearly they are not holding up their end of the bargain. I would not recommend this place to anyone to stay.
