Guest Reviews
- 671tishw (4/5): Ask for an updated room - A few rooms have been cleaned up a little bit, but most of them still need quit a bit of work. Each time I'm there it seems they're working on at least one room, updating I hope. The average room has old, worn, mismatched furniture, air conditioners that take a long time to work, stained sticky carpets, bathrooms that need attention and old dingy drapes that need to be replaced. I don't recall seeing any bugs, though, and I've stayed there at least 4 or 5 times in the last year while traveling. I'm really not sure why I keep going back. I think it's because it's right off of the exit ramp, parking is a breeze and the office is extremely easy to see and enter. There's also no halls, stairs or elevators. You just pull right up to your room. When I'm really tired from driving, it's my go-to because of the convenience
Pay cash if you can. It seems like my bill is less when I do. ??
Is it a great place to stay? No. Is it a really good place to stay? No. Is it an ok place to stay? Maybe. In my oppinion it's a 'fair' place to stay with a great parking situation, especially if all you want to do is get out of your car, take 10 steps and be in a bed.
Definitely not the type of place to stay and hang out while visiting the area unless you get one of their nicer rooms which are still just OK. I ask for an updated room or I won't get one. I don't know who they're saving them for. Lol They will happily move you to another room if you don't like the one they put you in but it always costs more. Same type of room, just cleaner with better sheets and cleaner carpets. Crazy, right? I'm sure I'll be back in that area before too long and stay there again though. For me, the front door parking after a long drive is sometimes the deciding factor.
For around $10 to $12 more a night, across the street, there's a major chain hotel that has a more clean, comfortable atmosphere which may be better suited for families traveling with children. That's just my opinion, but I'm usually right. :)
- Gass (2/5): I stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days and will never make that mistake again.. - The owners, the MAN ,NOT the woman, was very rude and hateful will NEVER stay at this establishment again and will not give a good review if friends or family ask! The MALE OWNER WAS VERY RUDE AND HATEFUL...PERIOD!
- Reed (7/5): Good -
- David (7/5): Good -
- Bill (1/5): Bad -
- Adams (1/5): Awful. Worst hotel ever been to - Location Everything else. The front desk guy was hateful. He tried charging me 40 for showing up 5 minutes early. He quoted me a price twice much as online so i boomed online and he got mad.
- Capo (1/5): Horrible place ,very dirty. Good for closing ,leave one space for the old couple live and destroy the rest and start the - Nothing Terrible bugs. All Furniture dirty, the dirtiest shower curtain I haven’t seen before
- Tiffanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (3/5): Poor -
- Joseph (8/5): Great - Did not eat anything there I was just 5 minutes away from the in-laws we ate at my in-laws
- Soumen (1/5): Bad -
- Andre (1/5): Didn't stay and they were nasty people. - Nothing I booked the room Feb.24th and April 7th when I've drove 3.5 hours due to the Eclipse there was no room for $80 dollars, but he could let me have the room for $200 dollars. Sorry but if I have booked a room and got a confirmation ,I must look like boo boo the fool. I don't think so.
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (2/5): It was horrible. - The location, The tolling was clogged with paper and the guy at the front desk wouldn't help. There were roaches and bugs in the room and bed. The walls and floor was flith6.
- Dianne (6/5): It served our needs - The rooms were clean and the water was hot. Room 114 was great,
Room 113 had problems. The lighting wasw very poor and the heater knob was missing so the room was not warm.
- Eric (4/5): Disappointing -
- Gacha (9/5): Superb -
- William (5/5): Passable -
- Chantelle (7/5): Good -
- David (1/5): I could not stay at this hotel due to the condition of the room. - The owners seemed to be good people. This is a very old and outdated hotel. When I arrived the room was very hot and very musty. There is an older like old sweaty gym clothes and curry. After I paid at the front office, I went into the room. Within 10 mins I left the room and let the owners know I could not stay in the room and asked for a refund. They refused and pointed to a sign saying "no refunds". They seemed like good people. If you stay here....please look at the room first.
- Miller (8/5): Very good -
- Jolindna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ted (3/5): I won't be staying here ever again. Do not go by the pictures on Google. - There were two good things about this place. One was that the shower was really good, plenty of Hot water and good pressure. The second good thing was that the bed was really comfortable. The room was clean, I'll give it that. The internet speed was good too. The Indian family who ran the place seemed nice enough and I'm sure they were doing their best. Oh, where to begin. Creepy. The place was obviously built in the late 1940's to mid 50's. Maybe even the early 60's and not much has been done to it since. The air conditioner was shoved through the wall haphazardly and had to be turned on via a switch on the wall and it ran, loudly, all night long. There was only one lock on the door and it didn't make me feel secure. I was the only guest in the whole place. 50-ish rooms and I was the only guest. When I first pulled up to the place I honestly thought is was a place you'd expect drug deals to be happening at.
- Thompson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (7/5): a decent place to lay your head at night if you are just passing through. didn't venture out. - a decent place to lay your head at night if you are just passing through like we were. I know nothing about the local restaurants, how close to any "attractions" bc we were just passing through on a 15+ hour trip. The room was comfortable: temperature, bed, refrig/microwave, nonsmoking (our "must haves" as we carry our food for reheating when on these trips). No frills, that's for sure, But we got a decent night's sleep. wifi signal was very weak-to-nonexistent. the hole in the bathroom wall(where doorknob had punctured) and/or airconditioner(noisy, but drowned out other sounds, and was consistent 'white noise', and situated in a way that it didnt blow directly on the bed--unlike a previous hotel) resulted in numerous dead gnats and other small insects in room by morning.
- Joe (3/5): Poor -
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Not a fancy room, but very nice for a place to sleep. - It is right off the interstate and close to our destination. In a nice quiet area
- Hamilton (5/5): Passable -
- James (10/5): Thank you - Very peaceful. It was real quiet. Faster check in
- Kleinert (5/5): Passable -
- Jack (5/5): Passable -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Very good -
- Sunny (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (7/5): motel was good if you are looking for a place to lay your head - Location was good and it was clean needs updating
- Jones (8/5): Very good -
- Janny (3/5): Poor -
- Sandra (6/5): We look for budget lodging but also want cleanliness. This fit the bill. - It was convenient to the interstate. Budget friendly. I enjoyed the retro architecture. The internet was not high speed. It was almost non-existent.
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant - I did not have breakfast there but Hardee’s is really close by and they are open 24 hours so we hit that on the way back there Check in took a while and they were less than professional at check in . Guy was not even wearing a shirt.
- rebus20 (4/5): The last option.... - We tried to find a room for hours, literally everything was booked from past st Louis to here. We came across this place at 130 am and after 17 hours of driving, it was a welcomed stop.
The hotel was old and on the sketchy side. The floor was dirty and I didn't feel comfortable walking without my shoes on. The mattress wasnt comfortable and looked to be 30 years old but after a bed bug check, all was clear. The sheets were clean and we had no other issues. We crashed for 5.5 hours, checked out and got on the road again. If you are in my situation, this will do in a pinch but otherwise I would keep looking.
- djmelmom (2/5): Awful, Awful - I'd sleep in my car before going here again. Just a nasty, dirty, all around disgusting place. The hallways are musty and smoky smelling, the rooms are full of cobwebs, a dead bug and even though they said we had a no smoking room, it smelled of old smoke. Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.
- Davidnshari (2/5): Stay in your car - Horrible!!! Roaches, bed bugs, 1st floor bathroom window that doesn't lock. You're better off staying in your car or staying across the street. Asked for a refund and the guy wanted to charge me 45.00 a night though you can stay the week for 199.00 which I did.
- Scott130 (6/5): 'Lots of free parking!" - I needed a place to stay for the night. This one will do. It's an old hotel, and WOW! the parking lot is huge! The door to my room was a bit beaten up, and the furnishings are old, but otherwise everything was O.K. The air conditioner/heater was old, but still works great. The surrounding area was safe. My only complaint is that the family that owns the hotel tunes everything out. Not good.
