Guest Reviews
- Beaty (8/5): -
- Joan (7/5): - room was clean and comfortable.
Heating pipes made gurgling noises now and again.
Bathroom sink faucet needs attention, low water flow.
over all ok, i would stay there again if i ever get to Soldotna again.
- Philip (6/5): - Location is good. Beds are ok Carpet is grubby. Noisy by the road
- Ernewein (9/5): Très bon rapport qualité-prix - Le petit-déjeuner était bon. La personne de l'accueil très sympathique. La chambre était agréable. Lit confortable. Très bon rapport qualité-prix.
- Timothy (6/5): Would not do it again - Good location with good restaurant attached The water was yellow in the bathtub. There was zero noise proffing. We could hear people from all of the attached rooms and beyond as well as what was going on outside the room. Most of the staff were nice but the first one I checked in with was not meant for the hospitality business. There was trash and dog poop all around the property.
- Artie (6/5): It was ok - Didn't try it Didn't try it
- Virginia (1/5): - There was a mouse inside our room. Very disappointed and very nasty. Do not recommend this hotel.
- Kirk (7/5): Good place to land when one needs a simple room for the night. -
- Neil (8/5): -
- Chappel (4/5): Wish customer service was better that would have brightened our experience - The beds were very comfy. Cigarette butts everywhere outside, and in our shower there was somebody else’s hair

- LARRY (8/5): Good place to rest on the way from Wasilla to Homer. - Nice clean facility. Hot shower. Dog friendly (even though our dogs stayed in kennels in the truck). That we did not go to pool or hot tub. Too tired.
- LARRY (8/5): -
- Frank (5/5): Dry, hot showers , expensive - Was available when we got rained out on a camping trip. Hot showers, wifi Pricey for what it is, an aging facility with worn out everything, matresses, shhets, towels, carpet stained and really old. Breakfast was there but subpar for the price. Yes it is peak season on the Kenai, but this was basic at a midrange price.
- Rose Mary (8/5): - fine nothing
- Keith (5/5): - Location was quiet Room was hot. Opened window, no screen, used fan. Can't imagine room in July or August.
- Joy (8/5): -
- Shannon (10/5): -
- Nelson (1/5): - The location was satisfactory. The building was adequate.
The room was not clean the bathroom was especially filthy.
The beds were too soft and the bedding seemed unclean. Cleanliness!
- Shannon (10/5): -
- Cushing (8/5): - Great staff. An oasis on the winter highway to Homer.vety warm & of lean Towels need to be uograded
- Jay (6/5): - It was clean except on top of the pipe that ran through the room.
It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The amenities were good.
The hardwood floor was great but a small rug by bed would have been good. Of The adjoining room doors let a lot of sound in, not soundproof at all. The guy in the next room was very noisy and I imagine he thought I was when I was on the phone.
- Gary (8/5): A convenient place at a decent cost - Cost
- Timothy (7/5): good - price old and run down
- pamela (10/5): - Its good.
- Kipling (8/5): - Staff was great
- Kipling (8/5): - Staff was great
- Eva (10/5): Nice little hotel - The front desk staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. I am incredibly grateful for their hospitality.
- Peter (8/5): - For the money the room was adequate. Fairly clean room with everything needed.
- Kaylin (4/5): - Walls, floor and ceiling are paper thin making it so you can hear anything and everything… black mold in bathroom.
- Pat (4/5): - Need serious maintenance! Carpet very bad and towels are rags! Security cameras not working and dark areas on the backside with vagrants hanging out! They hit your credit card for $200 in case you damage the property that can’t be damaged anymore! Will never recommend or stay there again!
- Tim (10/5): - Good stay for the price
- Diana (4/5): - The room was dated but also not very clean.. The sheets stunk and the bathroom was not very clean at all.
- Katherine (6/5): - I appreciate the parking space close to the building, right next to the stairs. The room was very quiet and the king bed was comfortable, super hot water and great pressure in the shower plus a full range of TV channels. I would recommend that the desk agents check the rooms behind the housekeeper for repairs. My window blinds were badly damaged with a hole conveniently located to look in while sleeping. I would have switched rooms except it was late and I had already carried everything upstairs, I just hung up towels as a curtain. That being said I will definitely stay there again for the convenience of Mykel’s restaurant and highway access.
- Marci (10/5): - Friendly staff, helpful.
- Rhonda (7/5): Fine. It worked. - A little more quiet. Drunk neighbors very loud.
- jesus (10/5): -
- Tyler (6/5): - The staff was great.
Carpet in room was very stained.
Rooms were outdated and very basic.
The " breakfast was cereal, oatmeal packets, toast, and bagels. There is no hot food like eggs or bacon.
The room was very hot, the only way to cool down was to have window open all night.
- Natalie (10/5): - Excellent stay. We had three people and I had booked a room with two double beds which I thought were larger than queen. When the night clerk noted that we had three people he gave us a free upgrade to two queen beds. Such a polite staff, clean, great breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Jody (10/5): Clean and pet friendly - This is a hidden gem. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and I can't tell that they allow dogs, no yucky pet smells. It's a great value with a continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. Just because it asks for a complaint, I thought the coffee was a little strong, really this place is well kept and a great deal. Perfect stay with pets.
- Ewa (6/5): Hotels In Alaska are not in the good state and cost a lot of money. - Not outrageously expensive, considering prices in Alaska Not a good value for the money, motel is old and not particularly attractive but all hotels in Alaska are not very appealing and prices are horrendously expensive. We had a very bad experience finding the decent hotel at the reasonable prices, so we were camping at the state parks which are very beautiful and cost $US20.
- Kathy (6/5): - The couldn’t understand what the check in clerk was saying. Except he asked me three times if I had a dog? Then about cleaning fish and be sure not to bring smell of any smoke into the room or will be billed $100.. okay? I believe that’s what he had me sign but super pushy about it. We were only there to sleep and go on without a pet..
- Paul (10/5): A very nice place to stay. -
- Joyce (4/5): Could not recommend unless carpets were cleaned and mattress replaced. - Carpets in room were disgustingly filthy. Breakfast was ok...yogurt, bagels, fruit. Frozen waffles upon request. But there were a few ants crawling on the bagel bags. Filthy carpets in room. Mattresses had so many springs and needed replacing.
- Rhonda (9/5): -
- Rhonda (8/5): -
- Mike (4/5): - Front desk was rude, inconsiderate and frankly just not nice. No thermostat in room and was way too hot to sleep. Floor was dirty and just an all around unpleasnet experience. I stay at a lot of holtes and this was one of the poorer one
- Rebecca (7/5): - Room smelled like cigarettes a bit. Not ideal for a non smoker.
- Brenda (10/5): - Neat town
- Sara (7/5): Buon rapporto qualità prezzo - Ampiezza della stanza e colazione. Staff della reception molto cordiale La moquette è molto sporca ed essendo un motel su una highway si sentono le macchine passare
- Tracy (7/5): So so, overall, but the cheapest you may find in this town - Location, and they pick you up from the airport and the shuttle at all hours of the day and night Broken blinds with no drapes so the room was very bright until we Jerry rigged it
- Anthony (10/5): - Homeless everywhere, sticky floors, cigarette smell, window partially blocked with plexiglass.
- Tamatha (6/5): - Carpet had multiple stains, just seemed a little run down overall.
- JUAN (6/5): Hotel viejo, costoso para su estado - Desayuno Baño en condiciones muy regular
- Tormod (7/5): En alternativ overnatting - En god seng.
- Elena (10/5): - Good place to sleep. We went fishing. The only thing I didn’t like was the carpets. They did have breakfast but my fat ass thought it was going to be a nice buffet with eggs/sausage all that good stuff. It was only bread or yogurt. A bit too high price for a cheap room.
- CZ (8/5): Good for a fishing stay in the kenai area - Basic bagels and some yogurt. I went to get more coffee and they were out, said it would be another 20 minutes so we left to go to the resturant on site. We ate dinner there too. make sure that they coffee is available in the am. maybe some other breakfast choices would be good too. It was better than nothing and the resturant was at least an option.
- Tina (6/5): - It was a very convenient place to stay after a day of traveling but the road noise was bad along with every noise from the immediate surrounding rooms all night made for a long night.
- Trevor (10/5): Good place to sleep before going fishing - Hotel is comfortable and quiet without many frills. Restaurant on lower level is good.
- Aaron (10/5): - They allowed us to store our fishing catch in their freezers
- Tim (6/5): - Second floor room, stairs only. Not so good when you're 75. Lot of street noise. Hit water in the shower was inconsistent
- Susan (4/5): -
- Brian (10/5): We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks! - Very nice room. Super great, friendly customer service, toasted Everything bagels with cream cheese and butter for breakfast, yogurt, coffee, more.
- Mercedes (6/5): Bare minimum necessities. Would not recommend. - The hotel was on the older side and the floor had sand all over it. The room smelled HEAVILY of cigarette smoke. The bedding was made nicely but the pillows were cheap and didnt have any cushion. The room towels were thin, old and cheap as well like hand towel quality. No plugs next to the beds for us to charge our phones. The floor heaters were dirty and dusty. Will spend the extra money for updated amenities at a different location next time were in the area.
- Denise (8/5): - Place was clean and comfortable.
- Kim (10/5): - very convenient location for what I was doing.
- Marilyn (8/5): - The property is old and need updates. The staff though was amazing and wonderful to work with.
- Jerry (10/5): - Nice place!
- Nicole (10/5): Sure beats camping in a tent - Bed comfort wasn’t the greatest, can feel the mattress springs. But it sure does beat camping in a tent lol
- Mert (7/5): Good - Rustic vibe. Rooms has a fan, coffee pot ect ecr Restaurant on site very good
- Deborah (5/5): Adequate but I wouldn’t stay again - Clean Noisy, small room, older. They said they are upgrading towels soon.
- VERNON (6/5): - The rooms are restaurant are good. I was injured and no 1st floor rooms were available. The rooms are raised a half step above the walk so I wonder about wheelchairs.
We stayed there for the rest and food. Otherwise, rooms are overpriced.
- Bywaters (7/5): Was okay . Friendly front desk staff. - Location and the restaurant Room was dated
- Deborah (7/5): Good -
- Mark (1/5): Horrible!!! Don’t stay here if money is tight, there’s no a/c. Rooms so hot it’s hard to sleep. - Just location No a/c, rooms feel dirty. Towels are so old, they are falling apart. Rooms online pictures don’t match what is true. You have to put a $200 dollar deposit.
- Naomi (3/5): NOT WORTH IT-it’s a tourist place & they know it-they don’t care-you lose out!!!!! - NOTHING It was dirty and trash was left in our room. The bathroom floor was dirty like it was used before we got there. Way OVER PRICED for what you get. I will NEVER stay there again. Only one kind staff mbr
- Gregory (7/5): Good - The room is perfect for your needs, especially for a fishing trip. Staff is friendly and helpful. If I return for another trip, I will definitely be reserving a room here. I was content.
- Kyle (4/5): Disappointing -
- Cheri (6/5): - Old building, needs to be remodeled.
- Vanessa (4/5): The stay was fine. The quality of the room was very poor. It was old and beat up and tattered not worth the price. - The location it’s right by my fishing hole I didn’t like the paint peeling off the walls. The bed was horrible. I woke up so sore multiple times throughout the night. It is definitely not worth the value by any means I feel like I was really ripped off.
- William (6/5): Conflicting information abd a dirty shower stall - I noticed on my confirmation email that the check in ended at 11pm. I was dipnetting and called to verify this time and the woman who answered said that this was incorrect and during the summer, the check in deadline was at 2am. I got to the hotel at 1:45 and the office was closed, with a note that the had closed early. There was a number to call, and the guy who checked me in was accommodating, but I didn’t appreciate being told two different stories. The room was ok, but the shower stall looked like it had mold, or at least discoloration in the grout lines.
- Anna (2/5): I will never stay there again. - Staff was basically nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good and well organized. Bathroom was with mold. Towels very used up and very unpleasant. No hooks in the bathroom to hang anything. No handles to hold to around the bathtub. Mattresses were of poor quality. Very noisy location, by the road. Smell of the room was very bad.
- Lori (6/5): - I really dislike leaving negative feedback but when I’m researching properties to stay I look for HONEST reviews and this wasn’t the case. Outdated and inaccurate reviews! Bathroom was in need of fixing, tub rusty and shower curtain had mildew stains, no AC which would be fine however upper level rooms had no air circulating and room was stuffy. I would be fine if the price was $80 but completely not worth $289! Pretty sad. Staff was friendly and location was convenient, fridge and microwave in room was nice.
- JUN (8/5): - I enjoyed their free breakfast.
- Paula (10/5): - Very centric to many places. The staff are extremely friendly. Early breakfast to start the day. The place was clean. Could use an upgrade of towels. Overall will return.
- Rachael (8/5): - Super quiet place, staff was super nice
- Sammette (10/5): - It was a convenient location.
- Laurence (6/5): OK stopover in Soldotna for the price. - This is a well-located motel in a parking lot.in Soldotna. No atmosphere. Good restaurant attached. Room is adequate.
- Stephen (4/5): - Not at all clean. Property dirty and thoroughly worn out.
Not at all like the photos on Expedia.
- linda (10/5): - Room was clean. Comfortable king bed.
- Teresa (10/5): It was okay!!! - The internet was intermittent and did not work well at all with or without the wifi. They said that is normal for two rooms in the hotel, which one of them was ours. We arrived June 27 to stay for seven nights and while we were still in Canada - not even started our holidays, the hotel charged our credit card one night’s stay. I mentioned this to the lady at front desk upon our departure and she told me it is to make sure people show up. I had never heard of such a thing. Carpet in our room looked like a short shag so it is old and was stained. The coffee in the breakfast area tastes better than coffee in the room. The staff were friendly and kind. The breakfast area is small and only has three two seater tables but there was a sitting area beside it which was comfortable. Breakfast was starch, fruit, granola bars and dairy, but there is a restaurant attached to the hotel and the food was good there and reasonably priced.
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Podborny (8/5): Very good -
- Jobeth (5/5): Passable -
