Guest Reviews
- Karen (10/5): - Very clean and friendly staff. Super convenient
- Jesse (10/5): - excellence
- Steve (6/5): - Friendly check in. Room and property are clean. Bear-bones motel that served my need overnight. That said, it did exceed my first impression.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice little Inn. - Room was fine, with coffee maker, fridge and microwave. In-Wall Air conditioning was a little loud, but worked well. Inner shower curtain showed age at the bottom. Need was comfortable and TV offered live streaming TV and also apps with your own account. Free Wi-Fi worked well. No other amenities that we knew of and we never actually visited the main office. There's a small coffee shop down the road. The Wet Sport Bar was a fun experience. Kern River Brewing Company in town was good. There are more options in town. Overall it was good for a couple nights rafting on the river.
- Laura (6/5): - Rooms were only surface-level clean - they need a deep cleaning. Plenty of things we noticed like hairs, stains, trash behind the bed, a sheet on the box spring that looks like it never gets changed. Overall just kind of grimy.
- craig (10/5): Good for a overnight stay! - Good for one night stop over! Oversized bathroom, with great shower!
- Getsemani (10/5): - Awesome inn on the side of the lake. Super comfy beds, cold ac, nice shower. Will definitely return! Thank you!
- Michael (10/5): - I was so happy and relieved to know that I made the right choice! Very clean and quiet. I will be back.
- Jill (10/5): Great place to stay near Kernville - Room is immaculate, well laid-out, has every amenity you could want.
- Alexei (10/5): - Good location , easy parking, BBQ right on the property!
- Clifford (8/5): - Nice location, small venue. Rustic setting, number of amenities close by.
- Andrea (10/5): Thank you so luch - The manager was amazing!!!! Found out it’s pets friendly! We will be back!!!
- robert (8/5): - Very cute place. Nice charm. Clean, quiet. Walls a bit thin. Good coffee supplies.
- Jesse (6/5): - took 10 min for hot water
- Lisa (10/5): - Everything was good
- Danielle (10/5): - The room was roomy and cozy. We had a refrigerator and microwave. We sat outside our room and enjoyed the view of the lake. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
- Judith (6/5): - Not a lot available in Wofford do I suppose this is the best. The toilet ran intermittently all night, the keurig did not work. The bed was comfortable though.
- John (8/5): - view
- Manuel (10/5): Place to stay - 100+ heat ,air conditioner worked great .rooms are small but VERY comfortable.plenty of water for bathing.checking in was very easy and info about the area was on point.we were kept up to date on the area fire++.receptionist very friendly and informative.place to stay
- JOY (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. A nice quiet retreat.
- Karyne (4/5): As expected - This place was as expected for this area. I’ve been to other motels in the area and they are all about the same. My sister and I needed a one night stay here, the only room available with two beds was a tiny room with twin beds. The area was very hot and it was difficult to cool the room down. I will say though that management was available and very helpful as needed.
- Trevor (8/5): It was alr - It was good the pillows are a little uncomfortable for me and my girlfriend but the room was pretty nice and the view
- William (10/5): - Great view, location, and Value. Will reserve for all future family and friends that want to visit.
- Karen (10/5): Nice quiet place - Pleasant place to stay on our journey. No breakfast but at least there was coffee in the room. One bedside light was odd in that it would turn itself off after about 10 min then 5 min later “pop” it turned on again. So there is something awry in the wiring. But otherwise the stay was fine.
- Tyler (10/5): - Beautiful view of Lake Isabella and the mountains. Wi-Fi, Netflix , Hulu , YouTube apps that worked properly and easy. Microwave, refrigerator worked fine. I had a great visit and will be booking again.
- Cristine (10/5): Great weekend getaway place - Such a cute, quiet place to stay for a quick weekend getaway. We love it there and everyone is so welcoming and thoughtful.
- Joshua (10/5): - Nice view of the lake
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing long-term stay - I stayed here for 8 days. Staff was friendly, room was comfortable, housekeeping was thorough. It was great to have a mini-fridge and microwave.
I felt very safe at the location (I’m visibly LGBTQ, so this was especially important).
Town closes early, but it’s a really quick drive to Kernville or Lake Isabella, so it wasn’t an issue to get food late. Easy drive to all sorts of hiking spots, and took two minutes to get to a park where you could walk along a beach at Lake Isabella.
Most travelers only stayed a night or two, I guess between other locations, but staying longer was great.
My only issue was that the walls are thin so it can get loud when other people check in. Really not a big deal, and the staff did a good job of spacing which rooms were occupied.
Would happily stay here again!!
- Steve (10/5): - Very clean, friendly helpful staff, well equipped, and centrally located.
- Larry (10/5): - Staff is so nice. This is definitely my goto lodging when I visit the kern/isabella area.
- James (10/5): Excellent - Clean nice rooms. Easy check in.
- mark (6/5): Stopover - Comfortable stop-over
- Teena (8/5): - Donna was wonderful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Tv was awkward to use. Shower head did no flow well.
- David (8/5): - Would have been nice for the guest book to have instructions on the TV.
- Kevin (10/5): Nice Place - We got in sort of late, but the door had our key in an envelope. The hot water was not hot. But the great people here told us in the morning that they were sorry and helped us with a discount. Nice place.
- Peter (8/5): Tribute to veteran's at South Fork School - Rustic , but clean and comfortable. I Would stay again.
- Kathryn (10/5): Clean, Cozy, and Comfortable - The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was very simple and nice. The room was also clean, cozy, comfortable, and quiet. The view was fantastic. There are very few dining options in town but 5 minutes down the road there are several options. I would stay here again.
- Kevin (8/5): - Property has a nice view of the lake. Not many eating options nearby. You need to travel to Kernville. Needs some paint and touchups but the property is fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and a very nice hotel. Comfortable and easy
- james (8/5): Great management - Had an issue with leaving a day early, and getting a revised folio and reimbursement for one night. Tried calling all day into the evening no answer. Finally Friday I called and the manager answered and she had already compensated me the two nights I stayed. I said that wasn’t necessary she insisted because that’s how she does business. She said she would speak to the employees so it doesn’t happen again. That’s awesome service.
- JEFF (8/5): 2nd Stay - Not too many places in Wofford Heights to stay but this is our 2nd time here and have no complaints. Room is small but expected and everything worked and was clean so no complaints. You can see the lake from there and easy access from the main road. There is really no night life so once the sun goes down there's hardly any traffic so stays really quiet.
- Denny (10/5): - Nice room friendly staff
- Harvey (2/5): - We prepaid for 2 rooms. They only had 1 room when we arrived at 9:30PM. they said Expedia always screw this up and could do nothing about.
- Melinda Elrod (10/5): o lu a few choices in town - clean older property
- Ken (10/5): - Excellent experience
- Holly (10/5): - The property was super clean and cozy. Easy to get to and close to Lake Isabella as well as some great shopping in Kernville and Silver City Ghost Town. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Bed was comfy. No complaints.
- Joy (8/5): - Clean, wonderful view of the lake and mountains. It was better than I had expected for the price. My only complaint was that the shampoo bottle fixed to the shower was empty. I could have asked for shampoos but I didn’t bother since I had my own. I’d stay here again.
- Thomas (6/5): - Convenient for wofford heights
- Tracy (10/5): - Omgosh the staff were so Awesome! I had my granddaughter with me for 2 days. Unfortunately, I guess I had contacted Covid in Ventura before coming. The lady in the office was so helpful. She told me if I needed anything just to let her now and she would bring it to me. I ended up adding another night to my stay five nights total, the best little motel I’ve been in in a long time.
- Kevin (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Kathy (10/5): Quiet & clean - Really quiet clean and safe. Excellent staff. Nice location w/view of Lake Isabella.
- Natalie (10/5): - Great service!!! Would recommend!!
- Adele (8/5): - Workers were great especially when we
had problems with the television.
- David (10/5): Wofford Rest - Quiet little get away - perfect place to stage our discovery of the Kern River area and Lake Isabella. Very low key - perfect for our pet. We really liked our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.
- Alen (10/5): - Amazing stuff very nice place to stay
- jesse (10/5): - No complaints here! Simple little place to stay not too far away from the river or town.
- TIMOTHY (10/5): - We stay here every year and we are always happy with it. It's simple, small, pet friendly, air conditioning runs very cold. Very inexpensive and several different room configurations. we will continue to stay here every year.
- Patricia (10/5): - I've stayed here 2 times now. It is very clean.
- William (8/5): - I did not get new towels or coffee pods the next day and had to get it from the office
- Rhonda (10/5): Room 1 Yesterfest Rockers - Aside from some non-Eco-friendly maintenance issues, great view, great communication, reasonably priced, clean, cute and comfortable. Water faucets in shower stripped (wasting water) and sink faucets have a hot/cold backwards feed.
- Greg (8/5): - Stayed for one night. Rooms are super clean. Older facility but well kept up. Clean and comfortable.
- Shannon (10/5): - Easy check in. Staff very friendly.
- Wei (8/5): - great
- Davin (10/5): Clean and Comfy - This charming little motel is very clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed coming back to my cozy room to unwind after long hiking days. I will stay here again when I return to Lake Isabella!
- Lawrence (8/5): - Room was clean and a good deal for the price. We had a great stay. Only negative I would point out is thin walls, we could hear the people in the room next to us. But no big deal since they were overall quiet.
- Gayle (6/5): - The first thing I saw was a lot of little white things on the floor in one of the rooms so it needed to be vacuumed. One of the problems with the other room was that the shower curtain and mostly the liner had a lot of mold on it. The excuse I was given was that there was some staff living there.
There was more but it will be too long.
- Glenn (8/5): - Clean room and rustic building and property with a mountainy atmosphere. Nice staff. Only complaint would be the sink drained slow. I would happily stay here again.
- Jason (10/5): Slept well! - Great, comfortable spot. Perfect to lay my head for a night! Will definitely be back!
- Tanzi (10/5): - Very clean, well maintained facility. Best place to stay in Wofford Heights
- Eli (10/5): - Easy check-in!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cleanliness.
- Manuel (10/5): - well taken care
- BRIAN (8/5): Peaceful - Safe comfortable stay. Quiet and peaceful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Second time I have stayed here and just as good as the first. Place is nice and quiet with a view of the lake.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older motel that is well taken care of. Nice view of the lake. Great place to stay in town. Simple but clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. The pillow smelled dirty. Showers were great with excellent water pressure. I didnt like the back window not being covered all the way. He curtains were only half the size of the window and we were paranoid that someone was watching us
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Extremely dirty and cheap. Old building. They claim to safe water, the water drips in the shower. Takes forever to take a shower. Also, the water is darn cold. Disgusting bathroom. Everything is great in Isabella, except this hotels.
Not much interaction with staff. No comment. But will not return due to hygiene.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean and quiet, had a comfortable experience for our dirt bike riding in the nearby Sequoia National Forest! Just 10 miles up the road.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It'll do the job for a night's stay if you don't need anything fancy. We stayed there because it was very close to Kern River Outfitters. The establishment is long overdue for a refresh. The room keys were not swipe cards but actual keys so don't lose them. Party walls are very thin so you will hear your neighbors at conversational volumes. Housekeeping isn't very thorough as we found hairs in the room from previous guests. Shower tub smelled like mildew but hot water was very hot. The wash sink is located outside of the door to the shower and toilet. The mini-fridge was not very cold even with dial to the max. They did not provide Kleenex tissue. There was a Keurig machine in the room with pods, paper cups and creamer.
They have 2 BBQ areas but not maintained. The gas bbq area has the gazebo but the propane tank was empty and cobwebs all over along with an old broken grill still there. There are some LED lights on the gazebo that were partially working but not real adequate at night. The charcoal bbq area has no covering, a broken bench and bushes growing too close to the grill. Gladly the ice machine located outside was working but the vending machine next to it was long out of order. I don't expect fancy amenities but they could at least maintain the bbq area better and throw away the junk equipment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Every aspect of this place is simply excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and maintained. The door knob was installed backwards so it doesn't lock. The deadbolt was fine
- Verified traveler (10/5): - These little hotels and small town can sometimes be a bit adventurous. There's really no amenities here it's a nice clean well maintained room. The one or two staff members I met were super pleasant. And I do plan on visiting here again in the near future
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All was good, cannot think of anything that we did not like.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, comfortable, convenient, good location, plenty of coffee and tea :)
Could use an upgrade in the shower.
- Brent (10/5): Great place friendly staff - Great place very friendly young lady at the front desk. Great place for the price. I will stay there again for sure
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a nice place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Great property, cool layout. I really enjoyed how small it was and how well laid out.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Knew this is not a fancy place, but very disappointed with how thin the walls are - the neighbor came back around 10 and it was like they were standing in the same room talking, could hear everything. They decided to watch TV with the volumne louder than necessary and it kept me awake until 11:30pm, not the motels fault, but what is a problem, is that I found a large cockroach on the floor. It was dead, sitting in the middle of the tile and my sis stepped on part of it. When I mentioned this to the staff, she said it was probably a water bug. This is a cockroach.
- JEFF (8/5): Nice stay - Pulled right in front of the room and everything was nice and clean. View did in fact overlook the lake and enjoyed sitting out front relaxing as the sun went down.
- Paula (10/5): Big and clean - It was very clean, comfortable and large. The difficulty was working the television. Instructions would of helped.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cute and clean. Nice place. Would stay here again.
- James (10/5): - Nice a cozy spot
- Mark (10/5): Wofford hights - Nice place coming back soon
- Verified traveler (10/5): - friendly staff, convenient close to work site, near shopping
- Sara (10/5): - The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable, we got the room with the spa tub which was an unexpected surprise. The woman working the desk was very nice. Overall a great experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Plenty of room and we could bring our dogs. The location was good even though the lake was low.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great staff, trash in trash can in room, remote batteries dead. Sink would not drain.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, Friendly, great staff, good locatipn, close to work location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and the personal was very polite
