• Alexandra (8/5): Budget stay in a great location - The hotel is situated on a street of cafes and shops and it is easy to find. It is equidistant between stops for the B and C trams and also near bus stops. On arriva in Bordeaux, I walked from St Jean train station and it was a pleasant 45 min stroll along the river. The economy double was small but more than adequate for a one night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the air con was effective. My room was at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet and the curtains kept out the light. After checking in, I found out that eating in the rooms is not allowed and there is a fine for doing so. This is definitely something to be aware of for budget travellers. An excellent cost-effective option in an area of expensive hotels and restaurants.

Zona de acceso restringido para coches, en el checkin te dicen una clave para el acceso y hay que pagar ticket a precio razonable las dos primeras horas y alitísimo las siguientes hasta el límite de cuatro horas y quince minutos.

Bien conectado por tranvía. La única pega es que no tiene ascensor y noa tocó en el tercer piso, pero ya lo sabíamos y no fue un problema.

Spazi ben organizzati leggermente poco luminosa ma in ogni caso non si suppone di passare le giornate in stanza! Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente! La posizione è come si vede in mappa a 15 min circa a piedi dal centro ma la zona è comunque ricca di attività come ristoranti boulangerie e bar frequentate da local.

• Lloyd (10/5): Good value hotel, in a great location. - Great little value hotel, no frills rooms, but really clean, and well serviced every day. In a really nice area for bars, restaurants and shops. Approximately 15 minutes walk to the centre of Bordeaux, We were on the third floor, with no elevator, which may be worth noting for any older or less able travellers. If I had one negative, it would be the horrendous sachets of coffee, with two plastic cups to make a brew in the morning. However directly opposite is a nice little cafe. The room was quiet and comfortable, and as we venture out a lot whilst away, it was more than adequate for our stay.

No actual views from our room but it was perfect and silent for good night sleep. There are some stairs but it was no problem for us.

Ich war im Stau und hatte extra angerufen um dies anzukündigen und wenn er möchte könne er meinen Koffer schon aus dem Zimmer stellen. Er meinte es sei kein Problem. Als ich dann im Zimmer ankam klopfte er laut an die Türe und fragte in einem unfreundlichem Ton wie lange es daure. Ich wollte gerade zur Reception runter da klingelte das Telefon er sagte ich müsse jetzt raus wie weit ich denn sei. Seine Tonart als Dienstleister ist nicht akzeptabel. Für diese Verspätung verlangte er 30 Euro. Ich könne froh sein, dass ich nicht den vollen Zimmerpreis bezahlen müsse. Die 30 Euro habe ich bezahlt das ist für mich in Ordnung so. Doch diese Unfreundlichkeit ist nicht Kundenkonform. Schade um diesen Vorfall. Dieses Hotel werde ich nicht mehr buchen. Vielleicht können Sie mir aus Kundenkulanz die 30 Euro rückerstatten. • Sikai (8/5): Superb staff and very clean room - It was a lovely stay at the hotel. The location is superb and the transport connection is really close. The room is clean and tidy and the bathroom has three-piece. I will consider staying at Hotel Notre Dame again in the future. Only one thing might be helpful to know, we have heard noise during the night as the hotel is close to some restaurants and bars nearby.

It is a budget hotel PROS cost staff cleanliness neighborhood great to walk around in, felt completely safe CONS older furnishings room a bit of a challenge to navigate - the desk had no outlets nearby, had to move things around to plug in noisy outside on the weekend can be noisy in the hall (my room was on a landing so a lot of cross traffic) no elevator so be prepared to haul your suitcase up the stairs

Chambre économique très propre et confort suffisant. Une toute petite fenêtre avec vue sur des murs mais pas dérangeant pour y passer la nuit. Petit déjeuner simple mais correct. Les quais sont à 2 minutes à pied, la place des Chartrons avec sa belle église à 2 pas également. Vraiment idéalement situé proche de tout et du tramway, avec un parking souterrain à 3 minutes à pied. Service et personnel agréable et bienveillant. La chambre est assez sommaire mais possédant tout les équipements nécessaires et offrant un confort très satisfaisant!

OK, so this hotel isn't the Ritz, but for the price, it's a hidden gem - quiet location only a few minutes walk from the City Centre. The rooms are a bit bijou (i.e. small) so maybe not for you if you're planning on staying in the room all weekend. Second visit & would use again as it ticked all the right boxes for me.
