  Our luxury Family Ocean View Suite features sweeping views of Kenya’s stunning Diani Beach. • Sarah (10/5): Loved it - The staff were amazing. They were always checking on me to make sure that I'm doing ok. The room was huge, much bigger than what I was expecting. I had an entire patio for myself with a hot tub and a view of the sea. It's one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. It was a nice touch to be visited by monkeys while sitting on the balcony. The food quality from the restaurant was also really nice. The mattress was a little bit too hard for my liking, and there were ants but bugs are to be expected when you are staying in the middle of nature.

• Rima (3/5): The Nomad was over-rated as a resort and did not feel like a five star hotel - The staff at the resort were extremely helpful and went above and beyond, especially when we required medical assistance. They checked in with us to see how we were and ensured that we were comfortable. There were several things that were frustrating at the Nomad, not least the amount of flies in the restaurant making dining there really unpleasant. There was also an issue with ants in our room and they were everywhere. On our first night, the shower was blocked, flooding the entire bathroom, which was made worse because there was no door to the shower. The air conditioning was pretty useless cooling one quarter of the room, while the other parts remained hot. You also could not keep the doors open due to the monkeys. For the amount of money paid for the resort, this was not reflected in the condition of the hotel.

• Jorge (8/5): Overall liked Diani and the hotel vibes but the beach boys, smugglers in the beach and the 6 swimsuits that ended up in - The restaurant was very nice, the beach front family room was spacious and clean and the staff was super nice The beach boys in front of the hotel are quite annoying. The worst part was that I felt insecure leaving things in the garden in front of the room which faces the beach. A couple of times I spotted what looked like true smugglers getting really close to spot what was there and see if they could grab something. The swimming pool ruined all our swimsuits. It stained them with a yellow-ish color which does not go away. What ever products they use for the pool are damaging and this should be advised to guests.

We have been loyal, repeat customers for the past several years, and as a family of seven visiting from Canada and Uganda, we have always valued the consistency and comfort your establishment once offered. It is precisely because of this long-standing relationship that the events of our visit were not only disheartening but deeply concerning. We were at your restaurant on **March 21st, 2026**, for a **5:00 PM reservation under the name Ruganda**. Upon being served, we were confronted with **a plethora—a full swarm—of flies** hovering around and settling directly on the food. The flies were so thick that even a blind person would have been able to count them. This level of infestation is a serious hygiene breach and entirely unacceptable for any dining establishment. The situation was so severe that we had no choice but to return the food, as it was impossible to use cutlery while simultaneously swatting flies away. We also observed a significant health and safety violation. As customers were leaving, the waitstaff were wiping down multiple tables using the **same cloth**, without rinsing it or using any disinfectant—no vinegar, no soap, no sanitizing spray. This practice poses a clear risk of cross‑contamination and falls far below basic food safety standards. What escalated the situation further was the conduct of the supervisor on duty. When we raised our concerns, her response was dismissive, unprofessional, and entirely unacceptable. She stated that flies are "expected as it is rain season," as though this justified the conditions. Instead of taking responsibility or offering any form of solution, she walked away mid‑conversation, leaving us feeling disregarded and disrespected. The nonchalant attitude displayed by both the supervisor and the waitstaff demonstrated a troubling lack of customer care, accountability, and respect for paying guests. This experience left us with a profoundly negative impression of your establishment. Please note that this email will also be shared on social media, as we believe it is important to protect other paying customers and raise awareness about the hygiene and service concerns we encountered. Your CCTV cameras should be able to strongly support our position and confirm the conditions we experienced. We expect that management will treat this matter with the seriousness it warrants and take immediate corrective action to address the hygiene lapses and customer service failures observed. Ate at the main restaurant most nights due to weather conditions and other pre planned events a - Lots of character with lovely restaurant right on the beachfront. Views even from the garden rooms were lovely. Lots of greenery and regular monkey sightings One night we got back to the room after dinner and they had been around to do turn down. The bed had quite a few bugs crawling over the sheets so I can only assume the doors were left open while doing the turn down. In room safe stopped working on our last day and couldn’t be resolved so we had to keep our valuables on us.

• glenna909 (10/5): Nomad Beach Villa at Nomad Beach Resort - We just returned from a family trip (3 adult couples) to Diani Beach in Kenya. We stayed at the Nomad Resort Beach Villa for 3 days, post our safari on the Masai Mara. This property boasts 4 ensuite BRs, 3 of which have king beds, an expansive first and second floor veranda, private pool and private grounds on the beach. It is adjacent to the traditional resort which provides amenities like restaurants, a bar, pool etc. We did not use these as our accommodations were inclusive of half board (breakfast and dinner). The villa was spotless, private and comfortable. We were taken care of by a staff of 7, including Oliver (staff manager), Lucas (butler extraordinaire), Matha (the chef providing delicious cuisine and accommodating 2 vegans, a vegetarian and 3 omnivores). Michael kept the premises immaculate. The remaining staff operated behind the scenes (security, pool maintenance, excursion reservations and transport, etc.). The atmosphere is pure luxury and, for us, the experience of a lifetime. The villa has direct views of the ocean and is a few steps across the lawn to the 18 KM long Diani beach. This beach has the most unusual sand I have ever seen. It's like flour! The ocean water is above 80 degrees F, clear and quite swimmable. For entertainment during our short trip we hired one of the many glass bottom boats for a couple of hours of snorkeling and hanging out at a nearby sandbar. Good for relaxation and some light exercise. We also hired a Dhow sunset sail. Wonderful 3 hour cruise along the beach culminating with a setting sun as we returned to the mooring. Great photo ops. Fascinating vessel of ancient design. This was our first trip to Kenya and we could not have been more impressed by the beauty of this country and the friendliness of its residents, both on the mara and on the coast. If you are considering a top level experience I strongly endorse a stay in one of the Nomad Villas. Asante sana to our new friends there.
• Sarah (3/5): Disappointing. - Really lovely rooms direct access to the beach. No porter on the door on arrival, had to carry bags through to reception. No hot water for 3 out of the 5 nights we stayed. Food service in restaurants terrible, good staff but not enough staff. Food quality very poor. 3 hrs to get a hot properly cooked pizza.
• Alan312578 (2/5): Disaster , Do not go - This was my worst experience in any resort or hotel in my entire life.We arrived around 22:30 after a long journey and tried to get a drink to be told that the bar is closed. The restaurant also closed but they did leave some stale chicken sandwiches in the room. They also brought ice to my room and in the fridge there was Whisky and Beer. On arriving in the room, which was full of ants , they then came and tried to spray them to no avail. The air conditioner did not work and we reported this matter numerous times but they could not sort out the issue. There was no hot water during the stay and only on the last day was this sorted out as apparently the plug was down. The final straw was on our final night there was a snake in our room a small Black Mamba according to the maintenance team. We also requested a taxi back to Mombasa and confirmed it was done, but this request was also not done. The position is excellent and the attitude of the Nomad Beach resort team was friendly but unfortunately they could not make any decisions and sort out the issues. I definitely would not go there at all even for FREE.
• SimplyDrapi (8/5): Very close to 5 stars. - Beachfront rooms are almost perfect. I thought that they might be even more pleasant than cottages. Room service was available at all times, as it should be. Surprisingly comfortable beach and terrace furniture. The staff was at times a bit remote, however there where needed and at the helping us to spend time comfortably while waiting for a transfer. The food is not exeptional, but all the time decent. The main restaurant had some minor problems in communications between the kitchen and waiters; we have waited pizza 50 minutes and got it cold, which means that it was waiting somewhere not being delivered in time. Similar happend once with eggs. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet is fabulous in all respects.

• svdp1990 (10/5): We will be back! - We had another absolutely wonderful stay at Nomad Beach Resort. Having previously visited in February 2022 and stayed at Chale Island last Christmas, returning to Nomad truly felt like coming home. The hotel is very cosy, with easy beach access, stunning ocean views, and beautifully designed rooms. We stayed for 10 nights, including New Year’s Eve, and every moment felt special. The food was consistently excellent, with particularly memorable sushi and a great variety of cuisines to choose from. However, the most unforgettable part of our stay was without a doubt the staff. I truly cannot sing their praises enough—both the front-facing team and those working tirelessly behind the scenes. The effort and care that went into the New Year’s celebration were simply incredible and made the night unforgettable. Maggie greeted us each day in the restaurant with the warmest smile and welcome. Wycliffe, Hussein, Walter, Kenneth, Yvonne, Ngala, and Juma—thank you for making every meal even more enjoyable with your exceptional service and beautiful energy. Vestas and Rophence, we loved our afternoon tea, beach barbecue, and the wonderful service by the pool. Eric—what an incredible wealth of knowledge and finesse. The wine tastings you hosted were such a highlight, and we learned so much while enjoying delicious Kenyan cheeses and bites. James Brown, manager of the Nomad Beach Bar, it was always a joy chatting with you and being welcomed so warmly every time. And Bella—yoga teacher extraordinaire! What a perfect way to start the day, grounding us with your calming presence while still giving us a fantastic workout. • joyce74 (10/5): Outstanding - Wonderful experience at Nomad Diani Beach. Arrived Christmas Day for 3 nights and the ocean view suites were well worth the +$800 a night price. Very clean rooms, beautifully furnished with an amazing ocean view, private seating area and sunbeds overlooking the sea The pool was great, 5m deep and very peaceful. The hotel offered free afternoon tea 4-5pm and each evening at 6.30-7.30 there were welcome cocktails, wine-tasting with the very kind and knowledgeable sommelier Eric. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, as was lunch and dinner. Cannot recommend highly enough. Friendly and attentive staff and would definitely stay here again.

• elizabethmT1155YT (10/5): Best hotel on Diani - We have stayed here a few times but since the last visit there have been lots of improvements, not that it needed any! The rooms are now really bright and the bathrooms have all been updated . The staff go above and beyond to make sure guests enjoy themselves. Especially Nelly at Rivas bar, also Hamidi and Jamila at the beach bar where anything is possible even if not on the menu. We also took part in the wine and cheese evening, which was organised by Eric the Somelier. Very informative and relaxed, would definitely do this again. The extra touches like the afternoon tea which is available to all guests is a nice touch and helps meet other guests . Also the advantage of being able to use non motorised water sports. We will definitely be back

• Carola (9/5): Beautiful beachfront location, great restaurant, friendly staff, scuba diving on premise. - Beautiful, charming, friendly place in fantastic beachfront location. Comfortable beds. Good air-con. We stayed twice, before and after a safari - once in the ocean view suite, once in the beach cottage. While the suite was very spacious and had a huge beachfront terrace, we liked the beach cottage even better. Great staff. Scuba diving on premise. Excellent beachfront restaurant, fantastic breakfast. We walked the whole of Diani beach and did not identify any other hotel and any other restaurant that looked better and that we might want to try. If we go back to Diani, we will return. Bathrooms are perfectly functional but maybe could need some renovation. As anywhere in Diani, the monkeys can at times be a nuisance - they will take anything, even snatch food from your hand. Not a problem in the restaurant where staff pays constant attention, but on the room terrace or on the cottage lawn don't tempt them with anything, keep everything inside and the doors and windows locked.
• ianwO9828VS (10/5): Very relaxed resort on a stunning beach, with fantastic restaurants/food - We stayed at the Nomad in late October 2025 in a family beach villa. We were a bit unlucky with the weather (lots of rain) but the resort is beautiful and highly recommended. The beach is as stunning as it looks on photos, with sand that almost feels like play-dough and shallow warm seas which are ideal for kids. The menu in the main restaurant (we were on "3/4s board") was great - loads of choice and went down really well with the kids. Special mention to waitress Yvonne who looked after us and was smiley and lovely throughout. We also really enjoyed the Teppanyaki restaurant and especially the BBQ restaurant so would definitely recommend booking those. The villa was great with lovely balcony and patio and right on the beach. It got a bit wet with the rain but not surprising as it was pretty intense. Showers were a little bit weak and not that hot if we wanted to nit-pick but otherwise the villa was very comfortable and everyone slept really well. Overall really positive - the resort felt spacious and friendly, with great food and drinks and an amazing beach (plus diving, SUPs, kayaks etc all at your fingertips). A great chill-out after a week of safari beforehand.

The staff was extremely helpful with everything, we had multiple water bottled, and wifi was great so I could actually get to do some work. I'll definitely come back! Sometimes I could see small ants, I know we are in the middle of the forest so it's almost impossible to avoid, but it would have been flawless if they were not there! Still, I really enjoyed my stay, especially the Teppanyaki live cooking food at night!

Wat een prachtig plekje. Mooie kamers, zeer vriendelijk personeel en goed eten. De kamers (familiesuite en 2-pers kamer) worden super schoongemaakt en elke dag ruimschoots nieuwe handdoeken en badlakens. Het strand is een pareltje en ja er lopen verkopers maar als je die met respect aanspreekt en duidelijk aangeeft dat je geen interesse hebt, lopen ze ook weer weg. Wij vlogen pas laat in de avond terug. Ze hebben alle moeite gedaan om ons een late check-out te geven. Hierdoor konden we heerlijk relaxed de laatste dag invullen. Wij waren er in augustus en hebben totaal geen last gehad van muggen, hele fijne bijkomstigheid. Niks

Would have been great to have some kind of food/beverage service in this area. Even if it was once every half hour. They have the staff but it wasn't a huge deal to have to walk to the bar are but would have been a nice touch. The kabob place was good but was way too much food but it was a fixed menu. The main restaurant was great and the food was good. The menu had a ton of options to cover a lot of cuisines. Table service is really slow but we weren't in a hurry. But, it is noticeable. The biggest issue is something they can't do anything about. The resort sits upon the most beautiful beach you can't use. The vendors are impossible. If you stand on the beach, they will stand next to you. If you sit on the beach, they will sit down next to you. If you walk on the beach, they will follow you. I actually like having local vendors but they will literally not take "no" for an answer. If you sit too long they will start trying to put things physically on you. You literally need to run to the water from the resort. Once they know you are staying there, they will wait at the bottom of the stairs for you (all day). You will see their heads bobbing up and down trying to see if you are coming down to the beach. It's tiresome. it's not the resorts fault but if you are traveling here you need to know this.

• BeccaS626 (8/5): Great stay - We stayed at this resort at the end of our trip to Kenya after visiting the Masai Mara. We picked this hotel for its location on the beachfront compared to some other hotels in Diani without direct access. Rooms were rustic in style but clean. A mosquito net was included - we didn’t see any mosquitoes at the resort but we were grateful for this. The beach it is located on is truly stunning. It is a public beach so you are likely to be approached by beach sellers multiple times if going into the sea. All are very friendly but it was be a little uncomfortable at times. We booked a boat/ snorkelling trip through the hotel which was a great afternoon out. We would have liked a little more variation in the food options that were available - it became a little repetitive after 5 nights. Hotel seemed to have good security measures in place, with guards patrolling the beachfront at night and checks on all vehicles entering the property. Overall a lovely stay!

The hotel is beautifully decorated, the rooms are surrounded by mature gardens giving absolute privacy from other guests and the beach passers-by. Special thanks to Linda for her attention to detail and being very accommodating. The reception team: Philo, Veronika and the other girls (apologies, forgot their names) were lovely. Our family suite was always immaculately clean by the housekeeping team, they did a fantastic job! Loved the flowers in the room and the many bottles of fresh water. Great room service. I’d like to mention Joseph for his outstanding service, always with a smile! Every day at lunch time he brought seafood pizzas to our own garden terrace facing the beach. The restaurant menu has a broad selection, we had the opportunity to taste most dishes. Very fresh food, well presented and delicious! Thank you Winnie and Joseph for making our dinners a special time at the restaurant. Thank you everyone, can’t wait to go back!
• LightPacker802712 (10/5): Great staff. Picturesque - Tired from travelling, it was a bit of a shock to get the wrong room - which was really nice but we had booked a beach cottage. A short wait and we were shown to the family version of the beach cottage which was palatial and all was well with the world. It is the mark of a business how they correct problems and this place came through with a smile from all involved. Reception was staffed by lovely people. We loved it here and chilled for a week after a hectic 10 days in Victoria Falls and on safari. The beach is insta ready with glorious soft white sand and the grounds (including the surrounding jungle) was teeming with wildlife. During our week here we saw a load of monkeys for example and hatching turtles. The housekeeping staff were thorough, the restaurant staff very friendly and the food was really good and tasty. Were there problems? Not serious ones. We were full board and found a good variety of things to eat but if we had been here for two weeks the same menu for both lunch and dinner may have got repetitive. We ate at the beach restaurant. Portions were generous and sometimes I would have liked something lighter, maybe a sandwich or similar. The staff were always smiling and attentive but service was sometimes slow, especially at lunch, as the place could get busy. Lucky we were there to chill. Sort of outside the hotels control, the hawkers were persistent. We liked to walk for half an hour on the beach in the morning before it got too hot. It was not necessarily peaceful. I feel for people trying to make a living but a no thanks didn’t always work.

We walked the beach route every morning to breakfast which included a great selection of food options. Good comfy bed, with working air con and power shower. I can’t quite put my finger on why we were slightly disappointed. Is it the lack of atmosphere? Expectations of 5 star service? The sun beds needs a lick of paint, the check in needs to offer some information about the facilities, they shouldn’t charge for water, they shouldn’t charge an addition fee to use room service. As a single woman travelling with a child, the staff ensured I felt safe. It was my son's birthday when we were there. The sang happy birthday, gave him and cake and a gift too. The staff really went out of their way to make him feel special. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat.

Rooms are very small and have lots and lots of lizards, ants and spiders. Cleaning is not on point in rooms as well as other parts of property, they don't have any kids play area or any such activities for kids. Rooms are not as shown in photos.

The spa facilities are great too and food is of very nice quality in my opinion. Probably portions are too generous! Portions are large for food I would say! Also, This would be harsh to blame the property but the beach boys at the beach are selling too aggressively. You can barely walk 2 m on the beach without a new person trying to haggle and negotiate to sell something. Can be off putting.

• GRochax (8/5): A Beautiful Resort, but a Missed Opportunity for Thoughtful Service - The resort is beautiful and well maintained. It’s clear that management invests in what truly matters: the cottages, beds, bathrooms, and in-room products are all excellent. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and refined — a perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. That said, I’d like to share a small complaint that I believe reflects something larger about the guest experience. It’s not a major issue, but it stood out. I stayed for three nights and, the evening before my departure, I asked if a late checkout would be possible, as my flight was in the afternoon. I didn’t have a fixed time in mind — just as late as they could allow. The staff said it probably wouldn’t be possible but asked me to check again in the morning. The next day, it was confirmed: I would need to check out at 10 a.m. due to incoming guests. However, I was welcome to use a day room and the resort facilities, which I appreciated. That morning, I checked out at 10 a.m. and moved my belongings to the day room. After a beach walk, I returned around 11:30 a.m. and noticed that no one had yet started cleaning my old room. I popped back in to grab a used beach towel and a half-full bottle of water I’d left behind. Curious, I sat on a garden day bed just outside, wondering when housekeeping would arrive. They eventually showed up at 12:36 p.m. Of course, I understand that a late checkout is a courtesy, not a right. But it’s in these small, human touches that a hotel can go from good to exceptional. Allowing me to stay in the room just two hours longer — especially since it sat untouched until then — would have made a real difference in my final day, at no cost to the hotel. These kinds of thoughtful gestures are what elevate hospitality. And in a resort that gets so much right, I’d hope the staff might consider more flexibility in such simple, meaningful ways.

• Scenic64461939013 (10/5): Beach time after Safari at Nomad - We enjoyed our stay at Nomad - beach front huts were great. Overall the Nomad deserves a top rating with great staff and really good food. We spent 5 days after our safari and it was a perfect way to chill after all the activity in Masai. The beach is beautiful, pool area also great - and all the staff made our stay even more special. Shout out to Chef Judy and the entire kitchen staff - she’s awesome and every meal we had at Nomad from the amazing breakfast spread to the full menus for lunch and dinner (full board plan) was some of the best food we had on the trip. Our group of three couples all had a really great experience at Nomad.

The property is arguable located on one of the finest stretches of beach in Africa! It is a lovely resort, intimate, well appointed and decorated in a beautiful manner. It is unassuming - nothing too loud or overwhelming, but attention to detail abounds everywhere. The staff are excellent. Customer service is top notch. They are all professional, friendly, knowledgeable & willing to help - with a huge smile all the time. Philomena at the front office was outstanding. Her assistance & support made our stay unforgettable. Linda was also amazingly helpful and kind to us, and Victoria's assistance was superb! Thank you to all of you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 The restaurants are lovely, the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was amazing and I particularly loved the sorbets! They even set up a big screen to allow us watch the Premier League games at the bar 💪🏽💪🏽🙏🏽. An all round outstanding experience, we all felt at home and well taken care of. We will be back soon. Again and again and again.

The staff were exceptional, they were friendly, professional and always happy to meet our requests. The view was fantastic with powdery white sand beaches, blue water and plenty of water activities to keep you busy. The timing for housekeeping was excellent! The insects in the rooms in the evenings were unwelcome roommates, however we were very close to the forest and nature so this could be expected.

The whole set up with the swimming pool surrounded by greenery is lovely. Also nice to watch the different monkeys climbing in the trees. The beach is truly stunning, and while before booking I had feared the beach would be too busy, this was not the case. Of course when you go for a walk you are approached by beach sellers, but they accept a no. We had a standalone bungalow, with our own reclining chairs and lots of space around, very pleasant (that probably explains the high price, but for us that privacy and peacefulness was what we had been looking for), beach sellers walk past, but they leave you in peace when you say no. We also appreciated their environmental efforts. They could put more plants - more greenery in the area of the standalone bungalows. It is very hard to keep the grass green there despite irrigation. I think the music in the restaurant was not so much too our taste, but we love peace and tranquility.

• steadyslack (6/5): More Shabby than Chic - We stayed for 6 nights at the end of our six week tour around Kenya. The beach faces east, so no sunsets. The spring tide reduces the beach to nothing and when it recedes it’s a 100 metre walk to the shallows. The Good A very personal and intimate resort with character. The pool area is lovely and the staff who look after you in this area are marvellous. Nelly was proactive and always smiling and friendly. Breakfast was perfect, mangoes, papaya, dragon fruit etc. Charles the pastry chef produced small quiches, tarts et al which were excellent. Lunch poolside was good for club sandwiches and pizzas. All staff were very helpful and courteous throughout. The Bad Dinner in the restaurant was below average. We were so disappointed that we ate out on 3 of the 6 evenings catching an Uber. We had 2 poor sleep nights as the air conditioner conked out (resolved giving us an adjoining room). The shower was uncomfortably hot as the cold water was also hot. No smart TV in room. No shower caps/sewing kits/ear buds/face flannels etc. No proper bedside tables and discrete lighting. Not a drawer in sight, just open cubbies and hanging rail. Limed furniture is a bit passé in 2025. The accommodation is quite expensive when compared to resorts we visited on our nights out (which offered live music, restaurant choices and a bit more dazzle etc.). The whole place could do with some TLC!

• holidaychicLondon (10/5): Relaxing end after all those early mornings on safari - We had a lovely 6 night stay here after our various safari stops and what a great end to the holiday. The hotel is rustic style (maybe just on the brink of getting away with it). We stayed in an ocean view suite which was spacious, supering size bed and had fabulous air con! The mini fridge (payable) and water was replenished daily. We had a massive deck area (ground floor) where we sat each evening and listened to the waves and saw the cute monkeys and baboons. The beach is huge and at low tide you can walk out really far before the water is even waist height.Theres a lot of seaweed and I was told that this is seasonal, not a problem for us but just pointing it out. Breakfasts were nice, nothing amazing, but certainly enough variety. We had lunch at the pool daily and it was always very good as was the drinks service from your sun beds. We ate at the grill twice, simple but tasty. You can choose various meats and or seafood and sauces, marinades and sides, all very nice. We ate at the main restaurant twice which was also very good. The staff throughout the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. I cannot remember all of their lovely names, but we had a great rapport with Nellie and the guest relations manager, Jacinta (sorry if I've spelt wrong) We attended the manager cocktail party briefly - those blue cocktails were delicious. The spa was nice, we enjoyed our massages. We ate at a nearby restaurant twice, Alibarbour, (separate review), very nice set in a cave. You will have local people coming up to you on the beach selling, trips, coconuts etc but a polite no thank you and they go on their way. The glass bottom boat trip via the hotel to the sand bank was really enjoyable. it was a 2 hours and cost $25 p/p. it. One of the guys went in the water and fed the fish so we saw so many varieties plus eels, star fish, sea cucumbers and so on.
