Achter het gebouw ligt een sprookjesachtige tuin die weliswaar hier en daar nog in aanbouw is maar waar het heerlijk toeven is. Wij kregen een kamer in het naastgelegen The Longhouse wat van dezelfde eigenaar is. Mooie ruime kamer en prima bed. Goed ontbijt in het hoofdgebouw. Parkeren achter de poort naast het gebouw. Niets

- Brazerol (9/5): - Wir wurden herzlich in Empfang genommen und durften auf Anfrage früher einchecken. Wir durften mit Freude feststellen, dass wir ein Upgrade ins Loft bekommen haben. Das Zimmer war sehr grosszügig und war gut ausgestattet. Ach hatten wir die Möglichkeit, im Hotel selbst Abendzuessen. Bobotie war super! Gerne empfehlen wir die Unterkunft weiter und ziehen es in Betracht, wiederzukommen! Vielen Dank für alles!

- Frank-Oliver (10/5): Ein Paradies der Romantik! - Einfach ein absolutes Paradies. Wir waren sehr überwältigt von dem Flair den diese Unterkunft uns fühlen ließ. Ein Traumgarten der Romantik. Ein Frühstück mit allem was wir uns erhofft hatten. Sehr nette Besitzer, nettes, sehr freundliches Personal , ein schönes Zimmer und 3 wunderschöne kleine , einladende Pools. Viele Vögel und hängende Baumnester, plätscherndes Wasser, sowie eine gute Lage zum Essengehen oder einkaufen. Nach drei Tagen wären wir gerne länger geblieben. Herzlichen Dank für die erholsame, wunderschöne Zeit. Rundum Zufriedenheit!
- Daniel (10/5): - Traumhafte Unterkunft mit einem großen Garten welcher mit Liebe angelegt wurde und gepflegt wird. Es sind 3 Pools mit ausreichend Liegen und Sonnenschirmen vorhanden. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und geräumig. Das Frühstück ist mehr als reichlich und sehr gut. Ebenfalls gibt es die Möglichkeit am Abend sehr gut zu essen. Das komplette Personal ist super nett und freundlich. Alles kombiniert fühlt sich sehr familiär an und wir wären am liebsten noch ein paar Tage länger geblieben.

- Robin (9/5): Yellow Aloe is an absolute gem and to be recommended. - Yellow Aloe is a green oasis within a dramatic mountainous landscape. The staff are wonderful, the gardens are amazing, the swimming pools very welcome, and the rooms in the Longhouse really nicely furnished and laid out. The breakfast was generous and we ate in the hotel each night (it’s a limited menu) as the food was delicious. I would highly recommend the Yellow Aloe. Nothing!

Because of wildfire, I could’t enter the famous Algeria Valley, Hence, this target has to be left for a better season in the next years. Thanks so much to the team for the pleasant hospitality, the rich South African Breakfast in a lovely Garden in this likable Guesthouse, and, last not least, for perfect and sensible organization.

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt eigentlich hat uns alles gefallen, ausser das in einem Zimmer das Badezimmer wirklich sehr klein war

- Pierre-François (10/5): Mon retour de la côte ouest vers Cape Town. - Yellow Aloe est mon petit Paradis à Clanwilliam, je suis un habitué de cette guest house, traité avec la plus grande attention, je m'y sens si bien à chaque fois lors de mes voyages en voitures dans la région. Les cottages sont adorables, la végétation dans le parc avec les oiseaux est un délice, la terrasse du bâtiment principal est très conviviale, on se sent tellement bien dans cette maison d'hôtes. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux, très complet et préparé avec une grande subtilité, la piscine est très agréable, le lavage de voiture est un plus, la chambre est spacieuse et bien agencée avec de la très bonne literie. Merci à Michel, son épouse et toute son équipe . A bientôt ! Rien à redire.

- Richard (10/5): Eine Oase zum Verweilen - Die Unterkunft liegt in einem Garten mit verschlungenen Wegen und einer fantastischen Blütenpracht. Die Zimmer sind gross und zweckmässig ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und sehr lecker. Ebenfalls ausgezeichnet war das Abendessen. Die Besitzer und ihre Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein Ort, an den man gerne zurückkehrt.

Wir hatten ein Problem mit der Mietwagenfirma. Cheryl hat uns sofort und erfolgreich geholfen. Besser geht es nicht. Vielen lieben Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt. Es gab rein gar nichts zu beanstanden.

- Barbara (6/5): It’s fine if you avoid the evening meal - - breakfast was excellent - lovely garden - comfortable room - not their fault, but the lorries rumbled past throughout the night, to do with the farms further down the road I expect and the time of year. - the sliding door in the bedroom wasn’t working - dinner was very poor. It’s farmed out to their staff but the owners initiate the deal and organize the bill. We were given and charged for a first course which we hadn’t ordered; this was a thick and heavy pea soup made from dried peas and not much else. The main courses (bobotie and butter chicken) were quite frankly inedible; the first was very oily and the chicken flavourless. Probably not many places to eat at night in Clanwilliam, but I think the Hotel can’t be worse than this. Also the bill included a generous tip which I thought assumed too much. A pity because the breakfast prepared by the same staff but organised by the owners was extremely good and imaginative.

Goeie tip over restaurant in de buurt (De Kelder), waar de 2x lekker gegeten hebben Badkamer is heel klein en het toilet was helaas niet proper.

- Penny (10/5): i wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back again. - A beautiful old Cape Dutch building painted in a sunshine yellow. Original floors and a real heritage feeling. Our room in the Longhouse took us back in time with its thick walls, deep windows and old fireplace. The best breakfasts ever with everything you could want, freshly squeezed orange juice is a must have. Dinner is by order and the Butter Chicken curry is to die for. The garden is out of this world, look in the trees and between plants for fairies , angels, owls and little things that make it absolutely magical to spend time in. Absolutely nothing. We spent five nights there and could not find a fault. However we always look for comfort, cleanliness and character. Not glitz and hi tech, if thats what you want this is not the place for you.

The property is truly beautiful, set in a lovely, peaceful setting with stunning gardens and yet perfectly located in the town. The room offered fantastic mountain views, making it the perfect place to relax. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make the stay special. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service throughout was excellent. I would highly recommend Yellow Aloe to anyone visiting Clanwilliam. Please ignore previous bad reviews written by some guests as there is nothing here to complain about at all. It will definitely be my first choice of accommodation when I return. Everything was perfect.

- Holdcroft (7/5): - Great location, lovely host and staff and a comfy room. Having stayed there some years back felt like the place could use a bit of TLC.
- Martina (10/5): Special Place in Clanwilliam - Lovely accommodation in the center of town. Beautiful garden that added to the pleasure of our stay.
- Norbert Kubba (10/5): Außerordentlich schön - sehr zu empfehlen - Es war außerordentlich schön eingerichtet und sowohl die Eigentümer als auch die Mitarbeiter waren sehr, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage war perfekt und das Essen, vor allem das Frühstück ausgezeichnet. Die hier auftauchenden negativ Bewertungen kann ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen, aber manche Menschen ticken halt anders. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen. Nichts - absolut nichts.

- Julie Marzio (7/5): Overall a pleasant and friendly environment. I would recommend it to stay. - The breakfast was good. The pool looked inviting, but it was too cold to swim. The room faced the road, so there was quite a bit of traffic noise in the mornings. There was not a plug to fit the hair drier and there was no tea or water left for the last day.
