Important Information
The property is located in North of Maldives approximately 78 mi away from Velana International Airport and can be reached via Seaplane transfer or Domestic transfer with speedboat depending on arrival and departure international flight.
Shared seaplane transfers are arranged through a third-party operator and involve sharing the flight with other guests. These transfers are scheduled during daylight hours as per regulations set by the Maldives Aviation Authority. To ensure a smooth transfer, your international flight should arrive in Male before 3:30 PM. If your departure flight from Male is before 9:00 AM, you may need to depart from the resort the night before. The resort is approximately a 30-minute seaplane ride away from Velana International Airport.
Keep in mind that the airline imposes luggage restrictions of 30 kg for checked baggage and 5 kg for carry-on baggage at no extra cost. Additional weight will incur a charge of USD 5.00 per kg plus taxes, payable at the seaplane check-in counter. For shared seaplane transfers, there's a minimum 2-hour waiting period at the terminal after check-in.
Domestic flight transfer takes 20 minutes from Velana International Airport to Dharavandhoo Airport followed by a 10-minute speedboat transfer to the resort. Each guest (excluding infants) is allowed 20 kg total luggage. Any excess baggage is charged a cost of USD 3.00 + taxes per kg and can be paid directly at flight check-in counter. Shared domestic flight transfers are arranged based on the schedule flights for the day and are subject to availability.
Please share your flight details with the property at least 5 days before your arrival to secure your seat(s) for the transfer.

There are countless islands in the Maldives. We prefer pure, natural, low-key and high-quality secret resorts, and finally chose Amilla. The seaplane reception was thoughtful and smooth. The moment we stepped onto the island, we met our considerate and gentle Chinese butler Monica. Throughout the trip, she carefully arranged our schedule perfectly according to the weather and our preferences. She also worked with the staff to prepare an exclusive birthday surprise for our child. The exquisite room decoration and sincere birthday wishes created a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, touching us deeply 💖 At Amilla, respecting nature and adhering to environmental protection is never just a slogan. The island’s facilities are elegantly simple and understated. Plastic products are rarely seen everywhere. Every staff member holds sincere reverence for the ocean and the island, interpreting the gentle coexistence between humans and nature perfectly. Warm kindness can be found everywhere on the island: The lovely Kingzuo in the restaurant, the thoughtful Devi, and the warm waiter with glasses. Every staff member we met was friendly and amiable. The guest rooms are carefully cleaned twice a day, morning and evening. Drinking water is replaced in a timely manner. There is a rich variety of authentic and delicious meals. Every day on the island, we were taken great care of with tenderness. Healing Full Marks Sailing Time Sunset Fishing Crew member Nasih patiently taught us fishing skills hand in hand. With his help, our family kept catching fish one after another, filled with joy. But as we caught more fish, we gradually felt pity and guilt. The thoughtful Nasih noticed our emotion keenly. He let us release the fish back to the sea and comforted us gently: Don’t worry, it will get home safely. When catching fish hooked deeply, he would quietly remove the hook with his back turned to us. His gentle respect for life filled us with profound reverence 🙏 As the saying goes, we only take what we need from nature. This is exactly the beautiful state of living in harmony with nature. We thought sunset fishing was already the highlight of the journey, until the Manta Ray Snorkeling the next day touched our hearts once again. The sea was rough on the way to the snorkeling spot. Captain Alibe drove skillfully and steadily, making everyone feel comfortable throughout the ride. After going into the water, my snorkel mask kept leaking, putting me in an awkward situation. Alibe and the crew noticed my abnormality at once and pulled me back to the speedboat safely with a lifebuoy. They comforted me warmly and handed over bath towels and fresh water thoughtfully. We participated in several excursions, including Dolphin Discovery, Ocean Discovery, and Sunset Fishing, all of which were professionally organized and unforgettable. The dining experience was exceptional—every restaurant served delicious food, with Feeling Koi being a particular standout. What truly made our trip special was the staff; everyone was incredibly friendly. From the moment I arrived, the butler service was exceptionally attentive and responsive, always ready to assist whenever needed. Sam was amazing! This is the second time we visit in 1 year and Sam has been incredible each time. The island itself is breathtakingly beautiful, with crystal-clear waters and some of the best snorkeling conditions I’ve ever experienced. The villa was elegantly designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, making it easy to fully unwind.
- sarahcH3730GB (8/5): Enjoyable family holiday - This was our 6th visit to the Maldives and 2nd visit to Amilla, having previously visited in March 2025. Amilla is an amazing place for a family holiday and I would recommend it. The 2 bedroom beach villas are comfortable and extremely spacious with a large private pool which was the perfect set up for us and our two young children (7 and 2). Amilla benefits from an amazing house reef and our 7 year old could snorkel directly from the beach outside our villa. He was lucky enough to encounter an amazing array of sea life including sea turtle, stingray, reef shark and trigger fish without having to venture too far. Kids club staff are great and there is a good range of activities although we felt these were largely aimed at girls (our son was not keen for dance workshops, mermaid swimming, bracelet making etc!). Our 2 year old was able to attend kids club with the fantastic babysitter (Ishu) and she loved this. The food quality was consistently good at all the restaurants (Barolo was our favourite) and we felt the service had improved from 2025. The staff were always quick to bring us our gin and tonic at the start of the meal! The staff at Amilla, in particular our butler Bella and our babysitter Ishu, are amazing and set this resort apart from others we have visited. They looked after our children so well. A couple of negatives compared with last year - certain areas of the resort (eg. main deck surrounding the pool) and room are in need of repairs/ improvements and it seems that little money has been spent on these things in last 12 months or so due to the impending larger refurbishment. An infestation of hairy caterpillars was also a problem at the resort whilst we were there due to limited rainfall in recent months. Unfortunately our family ended and many other guests ended up with terrible rashes from the caterpillar hairs in the air and required a doctor’s visit. They were working hard to try and deal with it (spraying etc/ specialist teams brought in) and hopefully this is something they will be able to get on top of quickly.

The Reserve team answered every question timely I had before booking, and they absolutely delivered a room that matched every detail in my email. Our butler, Fira, is incredibly professional but warm. She helped us to book activities those we couldn’t arrange through the app, and took care every request we had. We felt spoiled by her. The Chef at restaurant was also very kind and professional, and even prepared a wonderful surprise for us. As for views, Amilla is a great spot in the BAA Atoll. We saw many beautiful fishe during snorkelling, and we even saw baby sharks and a manta near the beach. The only thing slightly below our expectations was the coral, as it suffered a significant damage in 2016 because of El Niño. We enjoyed this wonderful holiday so much, it would be a memorable experience for us. We highly recommend Amilla Resort to others

Snorkeling is amazing here, you can get in the water right away and see tons of gorgeous marine life and beautiful corals super easily. The food is way better than I expected! The restaurant East, Feeling Coy, and the daily breakfast are all absolutely delicious, totally worth it. Service here is top notch! Our personal butler was super patient and helpful. Every staff member we passed on the road would greet us warmly and say hi. They even prepared a lovely surprise birthday party for my friend, such a thoughtful touch! Clean.We had a beach, chairs, pool all to ourselves at a beach pool villa. Hajar, our Butler couldn’t do enough for us and checked on us every day. Mani, also was great . He provided me with my own smoothies every day. Snorkeling trip was interesting and staff was eager to help with fins, etc. Luiza, the marine biologist gave us two personal lectures, one on turtles and one on nature about the island. We were provided with bicycles and transport to anywhere on the island if we wanted it. There was entertainment just about every night. All transport and luggage handling were prompt and efficient. We needed to take a seaplane and a boat both ways from and to the atoll from Male. The scenery was dreamy and something I will never forget.

They even arranged a late checkout for us on our last day. The Reef House villa type is fantastic. You can go straight down from your room into the sea to snorkel and see a wide variety of fish. We were lucky enough to spot a shark while staying in Room 123. The Beach Villa is also very unique with a huge private pool! The island is lush with tropical vegetation, just like a rainforest, perfect for exploring leisurely by bicycle.

He helped us to deal with all issues from ourselves including changing life jackets size, changing 3 wheels bike since my family can’t ride bike, arranging dinner, booking spa and blue whole snorkeling. - willm214 (10/5): Wonderful holiday - We've just returned from a nine night stay at Amilla, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The island is beautiful and pretty large by Maldivian standards - large enough that bikes are provided upon arrival, and our boys (age 8 and 6) loved riding along the jungle paths. We stayed in a reef water villa, and the room was exceptionally spacious and comfortable, with a good-size pool on the deck. Having the reef right outside the room was amazing, and we saw a good variety of marine life while snorkelling, including turtles, sharks, rays, and even an octopus. We were very impressed with the quality of the food at each of the restaurants, and the Maldivian Night buffet on the beach was a lot of fun. If there is any constructive criticism to be given, it would be that the options for kids were a bit limited, as the kids' menu was largely the same at each restaurant (Japanese restaurant aside). It perhaps would have been nice if there were some more choices unique to each restaurant, but this is a minor point and the options that were available were very good. I think what truly elevates Amilla above a lot of hotels we have stayed at is the superb level of service we received across the resort. Every staff member we encountered was, without exception, charming and helpful, and it really makes a difference to the overall experience when the staff appear to genuinely care about the guests' wellbeing. It is perhaps a bit unfair to single out individuals when we received excellent service from everyone, but special mention to our butler, Asad, whose friendliness and efficiency really contributed to a relaxing, stress-free stay. We really appreciated the proactive way he checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed, and kept us informed of the schedule of activities. We'd also like to say thank you to our housekeeper Pilu, whose towel animals delighted our boys each day, and to Kauser who really made an effort to entertain the boys at the pool. Overall, it was a truly memorable holiday, and we very much hope to return in the near future. Highly recommended.

During the seven-night vacation we ordered, both the butlers and staff on the island made me feel at home, especially our housekeeper, Mr. Asad, and a staff member. Ms. Alexandra, they can give us some surprises every day. Since the restaurant's breakfast is different every day, I always wanted to eat my favorite Katsu three days before I left the island Sando, unfortunately, it has not been there for those three days. I am very sad and regretful when I am about to leave the island, but Ms. Alexander helped me negotiate with the restaurant and I ate the last morning before leaving the island! Extremely delicious! Thank you so much and moved! ! ! Our butler picks us up every day with high spirits. He himself is very humorous and witty. To be honest, if I choose next time, I will choose Amira Island again. It is much better than I expected, and the scenery is also very beautiful. This is indeed a paradise for snorkeling lovers, and it is even friendly to beginners. From the water villa No.107 we live in, it is a coral reef. I have seen a lot of fish in the Indian Ocean, turtles, sharks, etc.The only downside is that I think I can introduce more Chinese food on the island, and add deworming services to each room every day, because many bugs are invisible to the naked eye during this period, which has caused me to be bitten every day.

It was our first time staying at Amilla Maldives, and the overall experience was truly wonderful. We arrived at Velana International Airport (MLE) at 11:35 am on 5 April. After immigration, we received a warm welcome from the hotel representatives Arisha and Abaan. They assisted us with seaplane check-in, while we relaxed at the Amilla lounge. Everything went smoothly, and we reached the island after a 30-minute seaplane transfer. The resort is located in Baa Atoll. It’s a natural, beautiful island where you can see birds, bats, and insects all around. We stayed in a Water Pool Villa, which features a private overwater hammock. The room was spacious and stylish. However, we noticed that the outdoor wood tiles looked a bit old, with sharp edges exposed. The food at Amilla was exceptional, especially breakfast at Fresh. A special heartfelt thanks to Firdvas and Mansi for making our dining experience truly enjoyable through their wonderful service and attention to detail. Dinner at Feeling Koi was amazing—we enjoyed the sunset while tasting the famous lobster dish. The lobster was incredibly fresh, as it’s caught from a nearby reef. It’s honestly a must-try. Snorkeling at the reef was another highlight. I highly recommend the complimentary Blue Hole snorkeling tour. The moment we entered the water, we were immediately surrounded by schools of fish—it was breathtaking. A special shoutout to Sotti, who led the tour and ensured everyone’s safety throughout. He also helped us spot a wide variety of marine life, including boxfish, octopuses, turtles, and even reef sharks. Don’t forget to join the night snorkeling, sandbank visit, and dolphin tours—they also created special memories for us. Finally, we would like to thank our island host Hajar and her manager Faalih, who arranged everything for us and helped make Amilla feel like home. Amilla is truly a paradise, and we loved exploring the reef with the chance to experience so much marine life up close. That said, the room does need a little maintenance!
- jlt240730 (10/5): Amilla Fushi - an amazing resort - A terrific all round experience. I have been several times to the Maldives and the Amilla was perhaps the best I’ve been too. The pool villa we had was of the highest standard in terms of appointment, comfort and privacy, whilst the choice and the quality of the food was outstanding. All of the restaurants served food of the highest quality and variety. cannot over-emphasise this. The location is spectacular and due to the relatively small number of rooms, you got the impression that you had the island to yourselves. Snorkelling was superb in terms of the variety of locations and of course the array of fish and attendant colours. We went with two pre-teens for whom there was plenty to do, including a very active kids’ club. Perhaps above all was the quality of the staff and service. It was unparalleled in my experience of the Maldives. Unusually from my experience of other resorts, staff numbers, including those frontline, outnumbered guests so that fact plus the incredible and friendly “nothing is too much trouble” attitude that all the staff demonstrated made for a memorable holiday. I cannot recommend the Amilla highly enough, weather for a couple or for a family. Holidays to the Maldives do not come cheap andcthe Amilla is no exception. But if you are spending significant sums to go to the area, then the Amilla, in my opinion, offers a wonderful location.

He made sure our food reservations were always done ahed time, if we needed anything no matter how last minute, he was always accommodating. Always greeted us with a smile! Special mention to Chandra, who was incredible and made sure I did not miss out of any of the incredible food choices at the restaurants with being vegetarian / gluten-free! The breakfast waiter crew were also so friendly and accommodating! We were always greeted with a welcoming smile each morning and catered for every single time. All the staff at the other restaurants were friendly and welcoming, a special mention to Nafees. As a whole our experience was amazing. Our room was clean with everything accommodated for. We had the lagoon pool water villa which was spacious and very modern looking. Our room attendant was so friendly, and made sure our room was clean each night. We also came back to surprises a couple of nights with some bed decorations which was so thoughtful, especially on our anniversary night. The little touches at Amilla made it such a personal and beautiful experience for us as first timers in Maldives. We will definitely be coming back to Amilla soon. Anyone looking for an incredible personalised experience, where all your needs are catered for then Amilla is the one. You will leave the resort feeling pleasant and wanting to come back. Food at all the restaurants was amazing. We also got delicious Indian food (especially Dal). All the staff members are very helpful.and always smiling. Each staff know our names and made us feel like home. Our kid also loved there..she had an amazing time in kids club with Risa. We stayed at Lagoon water villa and it was awesome..view from the room is outstanding. Room service and cleaning is also upto the mark. - steveiI7196ZF (8/5): Wheelchair user! - I’m in a wheelchair and it was tricky. Their idea of accessible is very enthusiastic staff who will lift you everywhere. There is no access to the main pool/sun beds/certain restaurants tables without going across sand and no hoists available in suites for the pool/ poor shower chair. All the above easily fixed by either permanent slatted pathway or removable carpet strip. Better height adjustable shower chairs cost next to nothing. In Antigua we had an overturned pathway of carpet out to reserved sun beds and they ensured I could get everywhere else independently. Paths around the island were fine for me as I’m fit but for many would be tricky. Staff amazing, island stunning, snorkelling beautiful, fishing productive and ocean suites spacious. Shout out in particular for Hamsha, Sotti, Simba and Ammaty.

- spri0 (4/5): After 4x Years of Amilla Fushi - We’ve stayed at Amilla for the past 4 years, and our first visit was truly exceptional. It felt like a hidden gem. Beautiful and relaxed. The water is absolutely stunning, clear and blue. Which makes it even more of a shame that a place with such beauty is being managed so poorly. Unfortunately, things started to decline 3 years ago, after a change in management, and despite another recent GM change, the experience hasn’t improved in any way. One very serious issue occurred last year when our friend was sexually harassed by a staff member. To their credit, management acted quickly and the staff member was dismissed immediately. We spoke to their female staff and they admitted that this person who harassed our friend also harassed other female staff members on that island before. So, this should have been already taken care of before it escalated. The fact that this happened is extremely concerning. Another ongoing issue is the mosquito situation. It is honestly one of the worst we’ve experienced in the Maldives. Despite being told the island is regularly treated and sprayed, the problem persists. Last year, I had a severe reaction after coming into contact with caterpillars, which resulted in a full rash along my arm. There was little support or compensation offered at the time. This year, I was bitten again, this time on my ankle, showing that the issue is still not under control. What made this even more obvious is that we went to Milaidhoo immediately after, where there were virtually no mosquitoes at all. Service and food quality are also highly inconsistent. At a seafood buffet priced at $150 per person (plus taxes), the mozzarella tasted rotten, which is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. The squid was extremely hard, and overall we ended up eating far less than we would at a normal restaurant, despite the high price point. It felt like very poor value. A particularly disappointing experience was a wine tasting we organized with friends we had recommended the hotel to. Instead of transparent pricing upfront, we were later charged $1,400 for what was essentially leftover cheese and bread (likely from breakfast), two $30 bottles of wine, and one $100 bottle. This was especially frustrating considering my husband had tipped the sommelier $200 on a previous trip and another $100 just before this tasting. It felt completely unjustified and, frankly, quite shocking. Another example of poor guest handling: while we were staying at Milaidhoo, our friends, who were still at Amilla, arranged a babysitter for 3 hours so they could visit us for lunch. They returned just 15 minutes late and were charged extra for it, despite having tipped staff generously beforehand. It felt unnecessarily petty and not in line with the level of hospitality expected at this price point. Overall, it’s disappointing to see how much Amilla has declined over the years. There is still potential, but the inconsistency, unresolved issues, and lack of genuine guest care make it very difficult to justify returning again.

He pre-booked our dinners for every single day as soon as we arrived, and was happy to adjust if we wanted to try different restaurants. The food at all the restaurants was delicious, with great variety and consistent quality. We booked the Blue Hole Snorkelling and Dolphin Discovery tours, and both exceeded our expectations. At the Blue Hole, we saw sharks and turtles up close; during the dolphin cruise, we encountered dozens of playful dolphins alongside stunning sunset views. The resort itself is stunning. The pavilion by our beach villa was so peaceful and cozy, and the overwater villas boast incredible marine life. We could even spot sharks and manta rays just standing on the jetty. Everything was well-organized, the service was heartfelt, and the nature here is truly magical. Amilla gave us the most wonderful family holiday—we can’t wait to come back!

We only needed to inform Ammaty of the dinner and activities we ordered every day, which was very convenient and we didn't have to worry all the time during the trip. The experience was great! The food was excellent, with a Chinese flavor, and they even prepared a special Chinese New Year dinner for us. We were very lucky to see dolphins, turtles, octopuses and so on on the island. The privacy between the rooms on the entire island is very good, it's very quiet and the scenery is wonderful. We only stayed for five days this time, but we felt that it was not enough. We will come again next time!

Our butler Buddy was always at hand - so kind and efficient. The F&B team were truly amazing, especially individuals like Saru who sets a very high standard. They were all happy and helpful, remembering little details and preferences that we had as a family and making us feel very special. We loved hearing stories of their own lives and how much they enjoy working at the hotel. The food was exceptional with a large choice, meaning we never bored of the menus.. breakfast was a highlight with staff cutting fresh fruit for us every morning and remembering coffee preferences. The house reef is beautiful - very full, lots and lots of stunning sea life including turtles, sharks and eagle rays. The resident marine biologist Luiza took us out snorkelling and entranced our children with interesting information about the conservation work they are doing. We also had fun scuba diving and fishing outside the reef. This was our fourth visit to the Maldives and our best resort so far. We will be back. Thank you

- scarletta530 (10/5): Best experience in Amilla - We booked a Sunset Water Villa for 5 nights.The villa itself was spacious, spotless, and featured a generously sized terrace with a private pool. Watching the stars in the pool at night was truly magical. Our butler, Jeremy from China, took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. We had many sea excursion and restaurant reservations, and he carefully reviewed our schedule in advance. Whenever an issue arose—such as the door lock running out of battery or a billing error—he responded immediately and coordinated with the relevant staff to resolve it. His attentiveness made us feel relaxed and as comfortable as being at home. Our housekeeper, Yousuf, was equally dedicated. He kept our room impeccably clean, replenished amenities promptly, and even prepared thoughtful little gifts for us. He went the extra mile by folding a beautiful manta ray out of towels for our friends’ room. These small yet heartfelt gestures truly touched us. The island’s natural environment is beautifully unspoiled. We would occasionally spot small lizards along the paths, see herons flying overhead, and observe schools of fish and numerous crabs right by the beach. The white-tailed tropicbirds and Asian koels added extra charm to the seaside atmospher. We booked scuba diving, sandbank excursion, and a dolphin-chasing trip. The staff were all warm and professional, and the dive center team prepared our equipment with great care each time, allowing us to conserve our energy for exploring the ocean. As for dining, for Fresh restaurant we would suggest offering more options tailored to Chinese tastes, perhaps by sourcing some local semi-prepared ingredients, as some dishes were not that good in flavor. The freshly squeezed juices, cereal mousse, and curries at breakfast were excellent, different choices are available each day. The pizza bar and East restaurant both delivered outstanding flavors. We sincerely thank every member of the staff for their warmth and dedication, which made our holiday so relaxing and memorable.

Our katheeb, Yaan, was a superstar butler and made sure all our dreams came true and that we didn’t lift a finger! We’re amazed by how he manages to keep track of all our activities, drive us to dinner and excursions, etc! His warmth made our stay so comfortable and he went above and beyond to make everything special and perfect. Every day we looked forward to Yousef Mian, our housekeepers newest animal creations which added such a personal touch to our days. Yamin took us on many amazing excursions (including a night snorkel) where we saw dolphins, turtles, sharks, eels, squids, bioluminescence, and all the fish of the sea! The rooms are massive and well-maintained, and the island is lush with gardens growing many of the herbs we enjoyed in our drinks and meals. They put extra care into decorating for Christmas. The excursions and food prices were reasonable, so we enjoyed kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying whatever we pleased each day!

We had two villas for the family and everything was perfectly planned with our Mr. Friday (Yaan). We could do everything or relax and do nothing. Some of us chose to SCUBA dive multiple times a day, including a couple night dive. Amilla Maldives has an excellent SCUBA operation. We had four of us diving and most of the time it was just our family + dive guide on the dive boat. We were able to use the spa facilities and gym. The meals were amazing. Starting with a great breakfast buffet with everything. My daughter particular liked the "fruit guy" who would cut up various types of fruit to her liking. We tried the many dining options and had an "over-the-top" Christmas Dinner on the 24th. The whole family really loved their personal bicycles - some just cruised around the island from place to place. Thank you Amilla for an amazing vacation.

Felt warm welcome since day 1 at the airport, experienced hospitality during my whole stay. Nice island, beautiful sea, lovely jungle, good food, convenient bicycle, big villa, life on this island was so chill that I will remember for a long time. Even I did not live in the reef villa that I preferred , I felt the whole island experience enjoyable. One suggestion is to put small size adult life jacket in reef villa. Let me list why we had such a great time below: - the villas, are very generous and well designed. There was a separate sofa area and work desk. The turn down service is extraordinary- champagne bottles get corked, your wet swimming clothes put on a special clothes rack, your bikes are even turned around so you can head off to breakfast in the morning! - the food options were wide and all fantastic. Italian, Greek, Asian restaurants. The Japanese restaurant has a couple of families of sharks below you when you eat. There is a beach bar with a DJ playing chilled music for sunset. - the reef is very easy to access, and feels calm and protected even when there are strong currents elsewhere. So you can always swim. There are lots of beautiful fish, rays, the turtles and sharks all around the island - the kids club is extremely well run, with plenty of indoors and outdoors activities for the kids. You feel like the kids are learning and playing. The resort even flew in a travelling troupe of performers for the kids from Australia. - the island itself is stunning, with plenty of little romantic beaches and wildlife to explore. There’s an indoor and outdoor gym. Wonderful spa with loads of options, a sauna , steam, plunge pool. - the excursions are fantastic. We had so many fun ones to go on. The night snorkel was interesting. Very safe, there was four people watching over us in a boat. Yumin, the guide took me on four excursions. The in house marine biologist Louisa is very professional and helpful. The kids presentations were awesome and my six year old learnt so much marine biology from Louisa. We also went on a short trip and saw hundreds of spinning dolphins. The Baa Atoll is clearly a Unesco site for a reason. - the safety on the island is fantastic. The bikes are well maintained. There are tricycles for people who can’t ride bikes. There are kids bikes . Every time you snorkel, you are being watched by a proper lifeguard. It’s very reassuring. - lastly and most importantly , the people are wonderful. Nappe our butler always looked after us, Afsan the waiter was there every day with a big smile and information. Chandra the head chef took my daughter behind the sushi counter and taught her to make sushi. She loved it. He is delighted to make you anything you like and every morning prepares a gorgeous fruit platter for you. Simply- you can’t find a friendlier resort. The staff are from all parts of the world and all are equally helpful. From the moment Shiman greets you to the moment they sadly wave you goodbye , it’s just kindness and helpfulness. Ultimately it’s a culture created by the extremely professional and dedicated GM, Morgan. So thank you , and we will see you next year!
- jsJ5749WD (10/5): A wonderful stay. We can’t wait to go back. - We just returned from a wonderful trip from Amilla Maldives. This is our fourth time to Maldives and our first time to Amilla. Our lagoon overwater villa with its own pool was beautiful and spacious. Every day they left a thoughtful small treat or surprise for our 6 years old daughter, from a mermaid shape cookie to an elephant made of towels. The service at Amilla was personal and impeccable. Our butler Nappe attended to our every request with a smile - he often went out of his way to ensure that we had a perfect stay. Our daughter loves the kids club with its range of wonderful activities, from making mocktail at Baa Bar to dancing to planting to arts and crafts to outdoor scavenger hunt - our daughter couldn’t wait to tell us how much fun she had every day. Kristina at the kids club is wonderful with kids. The art studio was also great - our daughter made a beautiful painting of Maldives for us to take home. She also loves the daily complimentary home-made ice-cream. The food was delicious. The head chef Chandra made an amazing meal for us at the Japanese restaurant Feeling Koi. Chandra also made maki sushi with our daughter - an unforgettable experience for the little one. The themed buffet Maldivian night was a great experience, with live music and cultural performance. We went to the sunset cruise and joined a few snorkelling excursions, which we highly recommend. We love the reef snorkelling led by marine biologist Louisa. The complimentary blue hole snorkelling led by Yasmin was simply amazing. The highlight was the Ocean Discovery excursion - we swam with many sea turtles and saw hundreds of dolphins jumping around our boat🐬 The warmth and friendliness of the staff at Amilla was felt from the moment we arrived at the resort. It was a great team led by the GM Morgan, who always chat with the guests to ensure that everyone had a perfect stay. Everything was perfect on this trip - thank you to everyone at Amilla to make this an unforgettable experience for our family. We will surely be back next year.

- Amberjane11 (10/5): Review on the accessibility of Amilla. - We chose Amilla for its high rating on accessibility. My partner has a T8 spinal cord injury and is in a manual wheelchair. We arrived at the airport to a team of people from Amilla to help us, Naaïf (sorry if I spelt that wrong) is such a lovely informative member of Amilla, he greeted us and explained everything to clearly and made us feel instantly at home! From this point you won’t lift a finger again if you don’t want to! We got put straight into the minibus, it’s pretty high so they have a sling to use to carry you in if you need assistance. Then the team checked us in for our seaplane and took us to the private Amilla lounge whilst we waited. It was only an hour wait. However Naaif made sure we had everything we needed and was happy to talk to us about the island and the excursions and made us so excited about it all! Getting onto the seaplane was the same as the minibus, definitely scary! But there’s loads of men carrying the sling so nothing can go wrong! And then off the seaplane straight across the jetty onto the boat, which pulled up first for us so no waiting around ! And then our arrival was met with drums and coconuts and loads of smiling faces! We got lifted off the boat straight onto the golf buggy (we have now done all modes of transport in 24 hours haha) and we got given a tour around the island by our personal butler Nappe! Who then took us to our room which was the lagoon villa, where our bags and wheelchair were waiting. And Nappe set up a WhatsApp for us to be in contact at all times and set everything up for the holiday. So in terms of just arriving to this island! Which is no easy task in a wheelchair! It was the easiest most streamlined experience we have ever had. Which makes such a difference to a holiday. It’s great knowing when we visit again we really do have nothing to worry about. We stayed from the 9th - 19th december. And we did almost everything! Every time we wanted to do something we just messaged our butler Nappe and he made it happen. Every time we wanted to go snorkelling we gave him an hours heads up and he arranged a lifeguard, sometimes two, to be waiting with the beach wheelchair to get us into the sea and then the lifeguard would stay with us the whole time in the water! The first time we went in my partner was made to wear a life jacket, however after that they could clearly see he is a very confidence swimmer and then it wasn’t a problem but they had the jacket on hand if we needed it. You need to give a bit more heads up for excursions that need a boat as they have one boat that can use the winch so they need to prepare for it! Usually we could get it next day. We did the ocean discovery excursion which was unbelievable! We saw so many turtles and reef sharks and then when we were dolphin spotting we must have found a pod of hundreds! One of the best experiences of my life! And my partner was able to move around the boat in his chair (don’t worry with help when it’s choppy) so we both got to have the same experience together. We also went scuba diving with the dive team! Again a boat was arranged with a winch, and they had the winch by the pool for the theory practical side of the trip. We each had a trained scuba instructor with us, and they made sure we both got to have an amazing experience out on the reef, and they took videos and photos of us! And we were extremely lucky to catch a manta ray!! Which is so rare in December. We also used the spa during our visit, they have a treatment room with a ramp and large enough for two so we could have a couples massage ! They have currently a visiting practitioner called Jang, who performed a body alignment massage on my partner, she is really knowledgeable and performed everything very safely, when my partners leg spasms she would ease off and then go again, which is exactly what you should do so it was great that we were in great hands! My massage was also fantastic and relaxing and we left feeling luxuriously pampered :) In terms of getting around the island with the wheelchair, for the most part it works really well! It’s a bit harder when it rains of course but still very doable, I had a bike to use also with the room so my partner just held on and we cycled to dinner every night! The only things to note are that the Greek restaurant has a sand floor, so reserve and ask for the first table so you just wheel straight to it, about 2 metres of sand, otherwise if you’re not happy wheeling in sand you can sit in the next restaurant and still order from the Greek menu :) .. Every restaurant for dinner other than that is fully accessible. For lunch the emperor beach club is on sand, so again we always just went to the first table to not have to push through the sand so much. The only downside to the island at the moment for getting around is that they don’t have walkways on the sand, like a bamboo track or a rubber mat to wheel on, so the ramp to the pool is at the back of it but there’s sand between the restaurants and the ramp so you have to be pushed or dragged in and around the restaurant to get to the pool, and yes the beach wheelchairs are fantastic ! However it would then make it so much better if there was just a nice wooden walkway or something from the path to the sunbeds, it doesn’t have to be everywhere on the island but just so we didn’t need help if we just wanted to go sit on the sunbed on the beach for one afternoon, side note by the way- i dragged my partner sometimes just because we of course know how to do it the best way for him, but there’s always people everywhere that jump to help ! What amazed me about Amilla was their willingness to improve constantly, my partner has some things he brings with him when we travel to make things easier, for example a cushion for the toilet seat and a squatty potty, and the staff noticed this and asked us about it and wanted to know where to buy it so they could supply it to other guests! So amazing! We also had a look in a couple other accessible rooms for the next time we visit, the two bedroom beach villa is stunning! However the toilet is in its own room with a door in the shower room, but it makes it too tight to transfer unfortunately! The food in Amilla is really really lovely! The breakfast menu is different everyday which is so nice, and then you have the choice of East Indian (best Indian food I’ve ever had), Greek, Italian and Japanese. Were definitely going again next year. It was an experience of a lifetime and we want it again !! We had a holiday that was just amazing food, friendly smiling faces everywhere and amazing trips and activities ! We want to say thank you to everyone at Amilla for giving us the opportunity to have this amazing experience :) and to see a standalone resort leading the way to make everything inclusive and accessible is amazing.

We enjoyed the natural beauty of the island with its lush vegetation as we walked and bicycled the paths throughout the island. We saw many fish while snorkeling from our Reef Water Villa with Pool. The food was great, the pool setting overlooking the water was magical. The tailor made massage in the Spa was fabulous - many thanks to Sugee and Din! Everyone on the staff was friendly, attentive and really added to our experience . The management at Amilla personally chatted with us whenever and wherever we saw them around the island. Chef Chandra made us beautiful fruit plates at breakfast and personally prepared and served us a special dinner at Feeling Koi. We thank our butler Sam, Ratna in the Spa and yoga, all of our servers at every meal and all of the staff who maintain the property so beautifully! Definitely take the Back of the House tour to learn about how Amilla operates behind the scenes. Most especially we thank our fantastic housekeeper Yousuf! He kept our Villa 123 absolutely spotless, refreshing things and cleaning when we left the room and always greeting us with a smile. AND what a treat to see his artistic creations on our bed when we returned to Villa 123 each evening ! He is very talented and professional and thorough in all he did for us! No photos of those creations...it would ruin the surprise. You'll have to see for yourself! Thanks Yousuf!

Some down time due to rain but glad for the rain as it helped cool things down quite a bit. Was too much white sand & blue everything and sun otherwise. Glad we stayed 7 nights. 2 days of travel, 5 full days getting to know the resort. In fact, felt like I was only getting to know the resort better on Day 3 ish - enjoying all that the resort was offering. Room: stayed in the family w/ attached separate room. Worked out well for our group of 5. Clean and spacious. Shower in master had no doors which made it a little uncomfy but we made do. (A door short be installed!) Buddy took good care of us. Picked us up whenever it rained so we didn't have to bike in the rain. He gave us personal tours of the island showing us hidden little gems, snorkeling spots, even detailed information of the wonders of Amilla. Yousoff Miah made sure our rooms were not sandy even though we tried hard to bring all the sand back in our shoes! He made sure we had enough water to drink, etc. He was wonderful. Food: We did the 1/2 board. They give you so much food!!!! Restaurant options were good. Breakfast at Fresh was wonderful. Staff were attentive and by the 3rd day they knew what fruits we liked and brough them to us before we asked or let us know when they had new shipment of mangosteens etc. Wonderful staff. Dinners were great. Sura was just so so sweet. Made sure our adult autistic son had whatever he wanted, especially the M&M cookies from the kid's menu. Watching him smile just made our whole stay. For lunch, we had the Tandoori pizza & Indonesian fried rice the first PM but kept going back almost every lunch - it was that good! Snorkeling: Was great except that the current was strong - We tried to see the "blue hole" but never got to cos we could not reach it as we kept getting swept away! They offer some complimentary snorkeling trips, which were great to get to know the reef. However, current was strong when we were there. Earlier attempt at a snorkeling excursion was cancelled due to bad weather, and 2nd attempt only managed to do 1/2 and had to return failing the 2nd snorkel site again due to bad weather. But still a lovely snorkel. Snorkeling in the lagoon was ok during high tide, but again current seemed too strong for us. So we stayed close & kept it short. Shout out to Yamin! Super amazing person. Even though the island has a large number of villas, it always felt peaceful and uncrowded. Breakfast was calm every morning and very well organized, offering both a buffet and à la carte options. One detail we especially appreciated was the fresh fruit station, where you could choose the fruit and have it cut fresh on the spot. The chefs and staff at breakfast were consistently kind and attentive—whether it was fresh coconut water, pancakes, or something specific our son asked for, they were always happy to accommodate with a smile. The service was warm and attentive, and many staff members were genuinely kind to our family. Although we unfortunately cannot recall all their names, several team members consistently made our days easier and more pleasant. Our butler, Asad, deserves special mention—he was proactive, quick to communicate, and always thoughtful. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ali Aiman and Franzelle, whose genuine warmth and willingness to check in on us added a personal touch to our stay. In addition, Naif, who welcomed us at the airport upon arrival and departure, was outstanding—extremely professional, kind, and attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly from the moment we landed until our return flight. Together, their care made us feel truly looked after. For families, Amilla is truly kids-friendly. The Fushi Kids Club offers a full schedule of activities, both indoors and outdoors, led by a caring multilingual team. Our son enjoyed the spacious indoor play areas, the outdoor playground with a shallow pool, and the daily activity board. The babysitting service also worked seamlessly and allowed us to enjoy a few adults-only moments during our stay. One of the aspects we enjoyed most was the variety of experiences available. Beyond the classic Maldivian activities, Amilla offers unique options such as painting classes at the Art Studio, a cooking class, a wine tasting guided by Simba, and tennis lessons with Vladimir. These experiences added a different dimension to our trip and made our days feel varied and engaging. Our Overwater Villa on the reef side was another highlight. The villa was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The marine life right below our deck was remarkable—we saw an impressive diversity of fish, along with sharks and stingrays, all directly from the room. It was a memorable overwater experience that we truly enjoyed. We also visited the spa for a Thai–Balinese blended massage, which was a wonderful experience. The spa area is beautiful and set slightly apart from the main resort, close to the beach, adding to the sense of calm. One afternoon, the resort hosted a relaxed cocktail hour with music, a DJ, activities for children, and opportunities to meet both guests and staff, which we really enjoyed. We also appreciated the resort’s accessibility features, including adapted villas and specialized wheelchairs for the sand—thoughtful details that are not commonly seen in the Maldives. Overall, Amilla combines comfort, thoughtful service, and a wide range of activities in a very balanced way. From the seamless airport pick up and drop off, to our villa butler, Monica, every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and well handled. Special thanks to Monica! When I felt nauseous after going into the sea, she promptly offered medication and checked in on me daily with genuine care. We also had a small hiccup with our room after the rain , they switched us the next day and offered complimentary wine. I’ve read reviews of other resorts where butlers were unresponsive, but that was never the case here. A few notes: The beach and common areas weren’t the most striking we’ve seen, as the resort intentionally preserved a more natural, less man made setting. While we didn’t encounter large schools of fish while snorkeling, we were fortunate to see turtle, rays, and large sharks , an unforgettable experience!

We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing, exceptional Maldives vacation. Overall Experience Our stay at Amilla was wonderful. The defining theme of our trip was total relaxation; the resort managed every single detail so we could simply unplug and enjoy ourselves. The Staff We especially want to recognize and highlight the incredible team at Amilla. Everyone was warm, personable, and genuinely cared about wanting us to have the best time at Amilla. The people at Amilla truly elevated our experience in the Maldives. Asad our Katheeb was exceptional. He took care of everything for us throughout our entire stay - giving an initial resort tour, coordinating and providing information of our activities, addressing requests for our villas, and answering our many questions. He ensured we could enjoy and relax at the resort fully without worry as he took care of all the logistics for us. Overall Asad was very attentive, responsive, and professional, and we are so thankful to have had him as our Katheeb. Arrival & Transfer The welcome began the moment we landed at Malé. Arisha greeted us immediately and guided us through the seaplane check-in process effortlessly. Amilla was already aware of our flight delay and had proactively adjusted our transfer to match. After a scenic 45-minute flight, we took a quick speedboat ride to the resort where the team (including Asad) welcomed us with fresh coconuts. Check-in was smooth via the Amilla app, and we arrived at our villa to find a complimentary bottle of wine and light bites waiting for us. Villas Overwater Reef Villa: We were immediately impressed by the spacious layout. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning sea views right from the bed, and the porch feels very private despite having neighbors. The bathroom is expansive with a double vanity and large tub. Tip: We highly recommend this villa for avid snorkelers. It offers direct access to the house reef, where we found the best visibility and marine life diversity (sharks, rays, fish) of our entire trip. Overwater Sunset Villa: Midway through our stay, we moved to a Sunset Villa. Asad handled the luggage transfer flawlessly. While the interior is slightly smaller than the Reef Villa, the layout is excellent (with a door separating the bedroom and bath). We were lucky to catch breathtaking sunsets on both nights. Dining We opted for the Half-board plan, which was perfect for us. Breakfast: The concept is great (buffet plus à la carte). The highlight was the fresh fruit station. Chef Chandra was fantastic—he remembered our preferences, selected perfectly ripe fruits, and offered honest recommendations on the day's produce. We also really enjoyed the unique local Maldivian breakfast dishes! Dinner: We enjoyed East (authentic Indian cuisine with generous portions), Barolo (great Italian food with live music), and Feeling Koi (overwater dining where we spotted sharks below). The Maldivian Night was a standout cultural experience with local dishes and drumming. We really appreciated the resort's commitment to sustainability and local ingredients. Service: Special thanks to Mode, Praaish, and Jaya for their food recommendations and excellent service. Alexandra, the hostess, was also wonderful in accommodating our seating requests. Bar: Every evening we sat near the beach next to the Baa Bar to catch glimpses of the sunset. We unfortunately didn’t catch the names of the bartenders at Baa Bar but they were super attentive and we appreciated their proactiveness in providing glasses of cold water for us. Activities We focused mainly on snorkeling. Gear is complimentary to borrow from the dive center. Snorkeling: As mentioned, the reef next to the Overwater Reef Villas had the best clarity and wildlife (sharks, rays, reef fish). The area to the right of the spa jetty also had good wildlife (turtles, sharks, reef fish) but lower visibility. The area left of the dive center, usually known for turtles, was clear but quiet during our late morning swim. We did the House Reef snorkeling tour and Blue Hole excursion. Note: Only the first guided snorkeling trip is complimentary; subsequent ones incur a fee. We weren’t aware until our second snorkeling tour was cancelled without notice. Photography: We utilized the complimentary photoshoot with BlueJay Photography. The photographer knew the best angles, and we loved the complimentary printed photograph. Departure Leaving was just as seamless as arriving. Asad provided a clear schedule the evening prior. A touching moment was seeing the staff waving goodbye from the dock as our boat departed. Back at the airport, Arisha guided us through security, ensuring a stress-free end to the trip. Final Thoughts Overall, we were truly impressed by Amilla and immensely enjoyed our time there—we only wish we could have stayed longer! The only slight miss was regarding our special occasion. Although we noted in advance that we were celebrating our anniversary during our stay, the date went unacknowledged. While it certainly didn’t spoil our trip, a small gesture would have been the cherry on top of an otherwise perfect experience.

Truly the best vacation I’ve had yet!!! 💖 We were just so happy being there & we got VVIP experience! 😊 The staff’s service has exceeded our expectations & they felt like family in the whole duration of our stay there ( 1 week )! My husband and I also traveled with our 1-year old baby and the resort is very family-friendly! My baby had a blast in the Kids Club, and the staff were very nice and gentle with him. For that, I am forever grateful. 😊 Special mention to our Katheeba (butler) Monica — who was very helpful, polite, understanding and efficient with her job!!!❤️ She attended to our every need — and surpassed the Diamond standards in hospitality. She was truly amazing! - 251josephw (10/5): Paradise - I visited Amilla with my wife after reading Sophie Morgan's review of the island from a wheelchair user's perspective. As a chair user myself, I was heartened to see a resort catering for all mobility levels. Prior to arrival, communication from the resort was prompt and helpful. We booked the couples package and they made sure to know all of my particular needs prior to arrival. On arrival, we were collected from the airport and ferried to the Amilla Lounge, which was superb. After a short wait we took a seaplane to the resort itself, and were welcomed by the staff with a song and a cold drink. We were then ferried to our accommodation via buggy. The villa itself was exceptional. Luxurious, spacious, clean, welcoming and a sight for sore eyes, we couldn't have asked for more. There was a bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket waiting (this was supposed to be Champagne, but I didn't feel strongly enough to have a whinge since we were literally in paradise). The villa came with its own pool and had a beautiful view over the sea. Our khateeb Asad was unreservedly helpful without being overbearing, and professional at all times. We feel he made our stay extra special and would like to commend him for his work. Likewise the housekeeper for the villa Yousuf was always friendly and made us feel very welcome each time we returned. The resort itself is like a dream. The walk/roll each morning to breakfast was genuinely lovely (though if you were feeling lazy/too hot Asad was only ever a text away to ferry us there without question or judgment!), and on arrival you are greeted by one of the nicest breakfasts I have ever had on holiday. As well as the buffet, which includes fresh tropical fruit prepared in front of you, there is also a menu of exceptional dishes available to order. Coffee was also exceptional, and the staff struck the right balance between attentiveness and intrusive. Our activities included snorkelling and we were very happy to see eagle rays, turtles, blacktip sharks as well as numerous other fish in the coral reef. We had booked kayaking but sadly bad weather forced us to cancel this. We also had two massages which were great, and the service of the spa left you feeling very special. The marine biologist Luiza was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and showed us some of the biodiversity on the island during a 30 minute guided walk. Regarding food we went half board. On the resort there are Indian, Japanese (for a surcharge), Italian and Greek restaurants as well as a small pizza place we didn't sample. All restaurants offered high quality food, with the Japanese taking the crown for best of the lot in our view. If you wanted extra food or drinks in-between, these were fairly pricey however not unexpected considering you're on an island in the Indian Ocean at a 5-star resort. There was also a few shops selling clothing, jewellery and souvenirs as well as a photography studio. Later in our trip we also discovered a tennis court, volleyball court and football field. They have 2 beach wheelchairs and all you need to do is ask your khateeb and he organised it for us - 10 minutes and the lifeguards would show up at the beach of our choosing, help me in the water and stay in with me whilst I snorkelled to my heart's content. They also had a boat with a lift which allowed me to transfer to the water extremely easily when we took a boat to snorkel at a nearby island. They even offer diving for wheelchair users but we did not take advantage of it this time round. The only slight negative I could mention was a mistake on behalf of the resort when we booked our 30 minute photo session included in the couples package on our last day. The resort mistakenly booked us for a 1 hour sunset photo session. Thinking we were just going for our included session, we reached the end and were a little surprised to be presented with a bill for around $700. We did raise this with our khateeb who discussed with the higher ups in management. They initially offered a 50% reduction, which we declined as it was their mistake, before offering the package for free which I thought was a little bit cheeky - the right thing to do was admit the mistake and offer it on a complementary basis, not try and squeeze 50% of the cost from it. Still, it was resolved to our satisfaction eventually. Overall a really wonderful stay, and we'd love to come back.

- simong251 (10/5): Trip of a Lifetime that did not disappoint. - This was to be a special trip of a lifetime as I'd always wanted to go to the Maldives. It was; we will be talking about this for a long time. I'd already been several times to Sri Lanka, India, Seychelles, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Australia etc etc and have seen many beautiful beaches; this did not disappoint. It is as beautiful as the photographs. We didn't scuba but we did snorkel and saw some glorious colourful fish and 2 harmless sharks. The sand was just about the purest and softest I have experienced; like talcum powder. Our room was more like a bungalow house with a beautiful balcony and plunge pool and a ladder down to the reef and the sea. But that's only part of it. The food was exemplary - even exquisite. 5 different restaurants (Indian/ Maldivian, Italian, Greek; we ate in 4 of them. But the thing that made it were the staff. Everyone was more than friendly and eager to help in anyway. Top honours go to our Hiyani (Butler) Nappe who was quite brilliant, charming and fabulous. Never more than 5 minutes away, very caring, great sense of humour, the list goes on. He is a credit to the Maldives and to Amilla. This is a not a budget experience but we don't regret splashing out for something this special

I have to start from the lounge at the airport at Aillma… The male staff member in the lounge was so gentle and attentive when explaining the lounge facilities and the seaplane. Since it was our first time taking a seaplane, it was truly a wonderful experience! When we arrived at Aillma, the hotel manager, the other staff, and our Katheeb Monica were all there to welcome us. Yousuf Miah prepared our room for us, and it was neat and clean. When he saw our swimwear hanging on the chair on the balcony, he thoughtfully arranged a drying rack and placed it inside the balcony. Another little happiness every day was how he creatively used leaves and towels to make decorations for us—amazing!!! He should be an artist!!! We joined workshops led by Salina: a Kombucha workshop and an organic deodorant–making class! Just seeing the always-smiling Salina already made us feel very happy, and she patiently showed us step by step how to work with the materials. Even someone like me, who normally never does DIY, could easily complete everything! There were also yoga classes and breath meditation taught by Kattia Mendoza, which truly brought peace to my mind. I will definitely continue practicing at home! I am not a strong swimmer, but I really love snorkeling. I joined the Blue Hole excursion and met the considerate guide Yamin. He first asked everyone about their swimming ability, and I quietly said, ‘I am not good at swimming.’ When we got into the water, he stayed beside me with a lifebuoy, and I felt very safe(of course I became a free rider by putting my hand on the lifebuoy LOL) On another day, we joined a dolphin-watching trip, and again it was Yamin and the captain who helped us find lots of dolphins. Watching the dolphins happily playing in the water was really unforgettable. Many thanks to the singer Ann for singing beautiful songs for us during dinner. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day were also incredibly delicious! About the animals: 1. A heron walking along the beach and standing on the balcony of my room, 2. A white tropicbird mother and her five-day-old baby (white bird with a long tail), 3. Small lizards walking along in forest, 4. Corals and lots of fish visible immediately in the water under the water villa, and dark brown sea turtles coming up to eat sea grass, plus the friendly little sharks near the Japanese restaurant! If I have the chance in the future, I will definitely come back again!

But what sets Amilla apart from others are 1) the most amazing house reef. It surrounds the island and is like snorkelling in a fish tank with shark, rays, turtles and octopus. We stayed in a reef villa and loved just flopping in to visit that amazing other world 2) the staff who have found the perfect balance of friendly (but not overbearing) without formality. Of particular note was our amazing butler Buddy. Also Jason at the Dive school. And sommelier Simba Thank you to all the team for an amazing week. We will be back!!

Back then the resort was already amazing in every way — so when it came time for our big family vacation this year, we didn’t hesitate to return. This time we had the whole family in tow, and we opted for one of the 4-Bedroom Beach Residences. And did Amilla deliver. I’ve found that normally hotels gradually decline over time (often imperceptibly but still steadily) — yet in this case the trend was upward. Amilla got better in every dimension: • The grounds and villas are cleaner, fresher, and appear to have undergone subtle but noticeable improvements. • The level of service is more personalised — the butler and guest-services team anticipated our needs rather than just responded. • The amenities are richer: more options for dining (the resort hosts eight restaurants with “Dine Around” flexibility).  • Even the spa — the Javvu Spa — has been upgraded and expanded into a brand-new, beautifully designed complex.  • Excursions and activities are more abundant and better curated: for example, you’re in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of the Baa Atoll, giving access to outstanding snorkelling with manta rays and whale sharks.  But where Amilla truly excelled and exceeded all my expectations was the people. The warmth, joy and genuine attentiveness of the staff was remarkable. The kind of connection you felt at every moment — helping you make the most of your stay, guiding you through activities, engaging with the children, remembering little preferences — all of that cannot happen unless the staff themselves are truly happy and empowered. And this is what impressed me most: Amilla seems to treat its employees well, and in return they offer impeccable service. Happy staff = happy guests. It’s a virtuous cycle. For our family, we found a “home away from home” in the Maldives — and we will absolutely return. - tonea614 (10/5): A very good week in the Maldives - Thank you Amilla - We typically do a trip for our wedding anniversary and this year we chose Amilla a Small Luxury Hotel of the world booked directly via the Hilton app. I used 750k points for this and secured a Water Villa in the range 300. When I booked this back 7 months ago I next day received a comprehensive email from the hotel - asking for flight details and reasons for visit, this was managed by the team very well and we were told it being our Anniversary 11/11 we would be honoured with a complimentary bottle of champagne and then a meal on the beach to celebrate our love. Literally worth hundreds of $ and really welcomed - so THANK YOU Amilla! Also provided links to Menus - its worth looking at - I decided no more than doing B&B and in the end that worked out the most cost effective due to a bit of food poisoning I suspect 5 days into trip and I couldn't eat or drink much at all for 3 days. Having Landed on our BA flight from London in the morning we were picked up in the new T2 arrivals hall and taken to a minivan where we had to go to the old T1 to drop luggage off for checkin on the sea plane. The staff from Amilla took care of everything and then took us to the seaplane terminal (a first for us on 9 trips here) and on the third floor entered a very peaceful lounge. We were asked to install the Amilla App - scan passports and we were checked into our room! Wonderful use of that time. We were able to have a drink, recharge phones and look out over the Marina where all the seaplanes take off. within 20 mins taken down to the seaplane - tightly packed and 35 mins later landed in the BAA Atol next to Amilla. The views from a seaplane were amazing and soon amongst the clouds we couldn't see much and I nodded off. Within 20 mins at the Amilla Dock being welcomed to the island with another couple, one very nice aspect is a buggy turns up and they have our name on the back of it, the Katheeb Ammaty introduced himself, exchanged WhatsApp numbers so we could let him know what we needed and throughout the week he was a pillar of support to us. We were whisked for a very short tour - most of the restaraunts and BAA bar are all in a small strip next to the swimming pool - Tessera (greek) Bolero (Italian) EAST (Indian) Fresh - Breakfast only (Jo's Pizza) and then there was the Beach bar further along the sea front which had the best beach (near the Dive Centre) with next to no coral in the sea floor. Ammaty took us to the Villa - needed to drain me of $2150 for the seaplane transfer first and then explore the Villa. It was a big positive from me, it was a very decent villa size (we have stayed in a few water villas including the 2 bed at Saii Lagoon and if you recall Shangri-La Villingilli - very large water villa there). But This was enormous - Lounge with all the cabinets for TV and Bose 5.1 surround system - 100's of on-demand free to watch videos as well as comprehensive Bar and Water/Drinks/Spirits/Wine and Prosecco in full half size fridge hidden in a cupboard. walking towards the deck was a large array of door and windows that led to the Bedroom, a low wall (headboard end) of which behind was the bathroom and literally enough wardrobe space to park all your clothes from home there (if the seaplane would accept all that luggage). I think I counted 8 double wardrobes. Also another TV, plenty of space to park suitcases (a really well thought out villa) and really important separate toilet with its own door that became very important later in the holiday. The open plan bathroom was nice - large open shower and a shower outside on deck too of course. Didn't use the bath at all apart from drying clothes! Outside there was a pool - two loungers with the best comfortable mattresses (I had a sciatica issue arise 2 days before we flew out) and a large daybed the far side. Also a smallish dining table perfect for eating outside in private which we did a few times. We had a sunset view so from the villa could watch the sunset - but Also did frequent the Sunset Bar at the arrival Jetty for the 2 for 1 drinks at 1730-1830. Below that bar was the Japanese restaurant that isn't open most nights so book early (as we missed it) So we met a lot of really nice staff - Ammaty our Katheeb - one of a kind gentleman - very kind and caring and looked after us but when he wasn't around our Villa Manager was Rahat - this man is world class in terms of care and attention to us and the villa, he helped me when he was about with my leg and couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable. Two member of staff that make this resort AMAZING. Then when we were on the beach we met Kauser - now my wife is a bit of a beauty queen and loves pictures of herself and Kauser mentioned he had some good ideas for pics on the beach and with her new iPhone created a Buch of pictures I know she will cherish for life - and again because I was struggling with mobility I couldn't be active in taking 50 pics (I am an ex wedding photographer) for her. Kauser hosted us and looked after us when we were at the beach club, must admit we used Jo's pizza for lunch - man probably the best pizza (Indian Ocean) we have consumed in a minute - absolutely wonderful. We did use the spa - usually I find the value for money of a spa in the Maldives quite low mainly because I know I can get a similar massage near me very cheap but having struggled with this sciatica we were introduced to Kattia in the spa - She was Visiting Wellness consultant - she offered me a discount and 90 mins of "fix me up" and it was wonderful. It didn't fix the trapped nerve but certainly helped me get more mobile and gave me a great massage to relax and chill out. Wherever you go and what ever you do Kattia Thank you and Be Well! Breath! Each day was a bit same - Bike to breakfast (two bikes provided with room number and name) breakfast by the swimming pool, great service! bike back to room, it was always cleaned by the time we got back! go out on the deck and chill - use the pool - use room service for a Nasi Goreng for lunch then go to beach and chill there, bike back to villa for a refresh before drinks in Sunset Bar or go straight out for the dinner. Themed nights - Maldivian based and Sea food based were available. Go back to villa and watch some Movie (would be great to have a telly outside but we used our iPad :)) and sleep in - no kids no rush - breakfast was available til 11am so brilliant! F&B at Amilla was more competitively priced than at previous places we had visited - generally speaking Maldives costs have risen substantially so I am pleased to say this was pretty good - although Air Manta flights are pretty pricey! So would I recommend - yes, the staff are brilliant, resort is clean and well cared for - one thing for you Hilton Honours users though SLH do not offer Hilton Honours points for F&B Spend - my last trip to Hilton Amingiri in March yielded me 150k points on $6000 of on resort spend but I got zero at Amilla and I would have hit Diamond with just 10k points. In thinking back couple of other points Biking around resort was very dangerous on some corners too much sand - cut my ankle on one such incident so please consider doing something about that. Also one thing I have seen is Managers Drinks, me and my wife have been to probably 50 good resorts and hotels globally now and we travel a lot and always enjoy a conversation with the General Manager, to date the GM at Seychelles Labrize was one of the nicest we met and chatting to him about the Hilton Group was always of interest as was visits to various Mandarin Oriental and Shangi-La chains. We were on the sunset side of the watervillas - at the end of the holiday we biked to the end of the pier by and it was amazing to see dolphins swimming freely - the sunrise side are very close to the reef edge so might be worth getting one of those villas if you're a keen snorkeler (I am not more rather liked a beached whale)
- Gordon_Chambers (10/5): Fantastic Hotel with Fabulous Staff - Hotel was very responsive to any queries I emailed in advance. We were met by Amilla representatives as soon as we emerged from Customs at Male. Our luggage was immediately portered, and we didn't touch it again until we landed back in UK. It was in our room before we were and collected and taken to Male Airport for us when we left. On arrival we had a short spell in the very pleasant Amilla Lounge in the Seaplane Terminal as we waited for our flight to the island. The seaplane landed at the raft that serves as "airport" for Amilla, we boarded a fast boat for our five-minute journey to the island. We were met at the jetty by our butler, given a buggy tour of the island, then driven directly to our room. All hotel registration and check-in is done in the seaplane lounge, so there are no delays when you arrive on the island. In fact, there is no hotel reception, everything you require is handled by your butler in person or on WhatsApp. Our butler was Nappe, who was excellent throughout our stay, our room was looked after by Yousaf who also could not do enough to ensure we were happy. The waiting staff are exceptional but a special mention must go to Shebaz. Both still and sparkling water are free throughout the resort, snorkelling on the reef is free and well worth doing; my wife went several times and, on each occasion, saw sharks, turtles, parrotfish, rays and so much more. Aside from how beautiful the island is, how large and comfortable the rooms are and how good the food is, our main takeaway was, the staff were without exception so absolutely wonderfully engaged, polite and genuinely dedicated to making you happy. I travel a lot on business and for pleasure, and have endured terrible service in marvellous locations, Amilla provides exceptional service from wonderful people in the most beautiful of places.
- _Z3583CB (10/5): Amilla：A Perfect Island for a Honeymoon - As Amilla's journey draws to a close. Everything went smoothly during my stay. The room is very large and clean. The room has excellent soundproofing, so I won't be disturbed at all when sleeping at night！The dining on the island is just what I wanted. Provided us with free diving equipment. Especially, thank you to our butler：Asad. He sends us our specific itinerary every day. Each trip booking is very quick. We called out to him in the group, and he responded very quickly. I recommend this island to everyone who wants to spend their honeymoon in Maldives.
- Z7174MZdonnap (10/5): Perfect family holiday - We had the most fantastic stay at Amilla in the Maldives. This was our third time staying at the resort, and once again it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming and made sure we taken care off. Our butler, Sam, truly made the trip unforgettable. He took care of our family of six so well and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. Nothing was ever too much trouble. He’s such a lovely person, always happy, polite, and thoughtful. The food at the resort was fantastic with a great choice of fresh, high-quality dishes every day. If you like snorkelling, Amilla is the best place to visit. The resort has its own gorgeous house reef, which is one of the reasons why we keep returning. The underwater life here is just amazing. We have swam with the turtle and saw nurse and black reef sharks. After three brilliant stays, we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended Amilia!

Good place to snorkeling and the room is clean. They clean twice a day and everyone are always smiling that makes you have a light heart during your vocation.
