Guest Reviews
- Ashish (10/5): I wish we planned to stay longer - I wish we had planned a longer stay. The photos do no justice to the place. Simply fabulous property and really great staff.
- Bobby (10/5): - Brilliant accommodation in an amazing setting. Short walk to the Orangutan and Sun Bear Rehabilitation Centres. Staff were excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The chalet was very comfortable and you felt as if you were living in the rain forest, beautiful grounds. The hotel could do with a bit of updating and would be lovely to have a pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights there though, food good, cocktails average. Ideal location for orangutans and sun bears.
- Greg (10/5): - Made up so 23 lodge houses in the Borneo rainforest. We were in number 22 one of the furthest away from the main building. I loved being here as you felt part of nature. Just be careful with the wooden board walk as some areas are even due to the rainforest’s tree roots intertwining the boards. We were luck to have visits from orangutans twice while we were there. The first experience had the orangutang crossing the bridge near our lodge approximately 20 metres away. That made my holiday!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The chalet type accommodation, with verandas, is very spacious and comfortable. Particularly liked the walk-in bath. The seating area around the bar is also very comfortable and the food is excellent. The highlight was an orangutan and baby coming around the chalets one morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - loved that itwas close to the sanctuary
would likefood and drink available a bit later
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stunning grounds!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff is nice, huts are big and clean, the space is really pretty, if you’re lucky you will see wild orangutans coming to the hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Exceeded our expectations. Beautiful setting, excellent quality food and choice - we are veggie - and so relaxing and chilled out!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved our stay here. The chalets are spacious and comfortable and the surroundings absolutely beautiful. Lovely to lie in bed listening to the sounds of nature. The food was good and varied. The orangutans and sunbears are less than 5 minutes walk away. Just wish we had booked longer to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Every person that worked there were welcoming from the day we arrived to the day we left... We stayed 6 days for RnR and absolutely loved this place. Meals and drinks are on the pricier side than other restaurants and street food, but you get what you pay for. The cocktails were skillfully mixed and tasted superb. The meals were delicious... My husband thinks the Beef Rendang is the best he has ever tasted. The rooms were cleaned daily and whenever we reported something broken it was fixed the same day upon our return from the days activities. Would highly recommend this place.
- Jennifer (10/5): Oasis in beautiful surroundings - SNR was such an oasis after our two nights in the jungle. We absolutely loved our chalet which was very clean & spacious & overlooked the lake. The restaurant was gorgeous but some of the waiting staff were quite unprofessional - maybe they were only new? The whole resort was well maintained & the staff very friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location and each room felt secluded from the next
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the chalets, the resort was a fab location and complete heaven of tranquility. Food ok , most staff ok although you are made to feel uncomfortable or even unwelcome if you try and use the restaurant/ bar after 9pm. Staff hovering over you to hurry you up and the shutters are down most nights before 10.!that was only only spoiler in an otherwise fabulous 4 night stay
- Lisa (10/5): Great little resort. - Lovely little resort right next to the Orangutan and Sun Bear Sanctuaries. We also walked to The Rainforest Discovery Centre, but it was a bit of a hike! The staff here were friendly and helpful. Our room was basic but had everything we needed. Had lunch at one of the nearby hotels and it wasn't nearly as nice as Sepilok Nature Resort!! Would highly recommend a stay here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Such a unique little resort, with the feeling of being in the jungle. We stayed here for one night and truly lived the atmosphere. The day tour to Labauk Bay, organized by the front reception, was amazing. I’d highly recommend this place for a stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely chalets, comfortable beds and nice surroundings. Great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a fantastic resort hotel! The setting is unbelievably beautiful. Gorgeous chalet accommodation. Great location. Very friendly & helpful staff. Good food. Thanks for the fantastic two nights we spent with you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very beautiful place. I absolutely loved it. The rooms are big and clean and the restaurant is very good and also a very nice cozy place to relax in the evening. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I strongly recommend it. And it’s just a 5 minutes walk to the Oran outang rehabilitation center.
- Darryl (8/5): Orangutan and Sun bear visit - Stayed to be near orangutan sanctuary, nothing much else in the area. The staff in reception, restaurant and tour counter were bored and disinterested. No WiFi in rooms, only in reception area and very slow at that. Food was very expensive and not so good but captured market I guess as no other option nearby.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was very large and very vlean. Staff professional and friendly...speak and understand English. Food was excellent and the wine good! Only downside is wifi doesn't work anywhere but reception area. I highly recommend this resort...you will be very pleased.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is amazing! Room was very clean and huge too! Food and service were excellent, and everyonde speaks English and understands it. The only downside is that wifi doesn't work in the rooms, and is sketchy in the restaurant area, but at reception area it works well. I highly recommend this resort..you will be very pleased! And, it's just around the corner from the orangutan sanctuary and the sun bear sanctuary...definitely within walking distance..10 mins!
- Jane (10/5): First class jungle gem. - Beautiful surroundings in cleverly designed jungle setting. Very quiet and relaxing with efficient, professional and friendly staff. Excellent quality and good value food and drinks. Anyone who appreciates nature and wildlife should put this at the top of their agenda. It is a few minutes walk from the Orang Utang , Sun Bear and Rainforest Discovery centres all of which are an amazing revelation. You can also see a huge variety of birds and animals within the hotel grounds (including Orang Utangs). There are also several other trips you can take from here. The accommodation is great, chalet style and well spaced out all with balcony. Very clean and well maintained. I don't know why this is only 2.5*, it's top class and offers everything you need. Originally booked 3 nights but stayed 5. A very relaxing few days. Brilliant
- Joan (10/5): - The lush environment is unique. Chalets are situated in a verdant rain forest with beautiful plants. Staff was friendly and eager to make our stay perfect in every way.
- R (8/5): - Comfy villa's, helpful reception and activity guide staff
- Donald (10/5): Great for nature lovers - Accommodations were excellent, the staff friendly and the proximity to the orangutan reserve was very convenient (a 5 min walk). A lot of wildlife on site. Room for improvement at the restaurant. Food was okay, but not great.
- Howard (10/5): Wonderful! - Loved staying at Sepilok Nature Resort. Wonderful setting and lovely staff. The night walk with Soni (apologies for bad spelling) was fantastic! Closeness to Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre means you can visit more than once and spend more time in the company of these amazing animals. Definitely recommend staying here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were lovely, very clean and comfortable room
- Lucky (10/5): - Loved it! Hotel exceeded our expectations. Although we stayed 4 nights, we wished we could stay longer. Perfect for visiting the Orangutans, sun bears etc.
- Richard (10/5): - Very nice chalet-style room, with hammock on the porch overlooking a river running through the property. Just a 5-minute walk to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, and the SunBear center.
- cedri (8/5): - Excellent wood cabins ovelooking a scenic forest and pool environment. Staff are helpful however not as proactive and friendly as you may find in other hotels in Sabah
Prices for the happy hour etc should either include the taxes or clearly state that taxes are additiobal particularly given that the high majority of the clientele is overseas and will not be familiar with local taxes and pricing. I did note that a couple of other hotels in Sabah were very clearly as to the total price you would need to pay for the food and drinks.
- Maria (10/5): - Great hotel with real character - the location is just a few minutes from the bear and orangutan sanctuaries . Beware of leaving things on your balcony mine got stolen by the orangutans - which just shows how close you are to it all. Wish I was still there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Sepilok, Gorillas, Sun Bears. - Food was excellent, staff terrific. Great location near Gorilla and Sun Bear preserves. Very spacious accommodations. I would like to have had wifi available in my room and more than only 3 television stations, none of which were in English.
- Daisy (10/5): - Lovely peaceful location with beautiful rooms and views onto the river. The staff were charming too! Would highly recommend if you are visiting the wildlife centres around nearby.
- Ling (10/5): - Love the location where we are so close to the nature and it is a walking distance to the Sepilok National park.
The chalet is great and love the environment. Perhaps the only draw back is the food of the restaurant. Went for breakfast and it was relatively expensive and limited choices with average taste. We ended up went to the cafeteria in the Sepilok sanctuary for breakfast with more reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - really high standard room in a great setting, with a nice breakfast and evening meal
- Joanne (8/5): - Great relaxing place set in beautiful natural surroundings. Only small issue is Wifi as it is unavailable in rooms and only available near reception.
- Roisin (10/5): beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great food - best experience ever - have already started recommending to everyone!
- Nicole (10/5): Enjoyed our stay. - Staff are amazing, room was lovely. Would 100% stay here again if I was to return to sepilok. We stayed for 2 nights- 1 day and that was enough time to go to the sancturys and we were supposed to do a night walk but it got cancelled due to the weather. There’s not that much to do around there so wouldn’t stay for more than 1-2 days. Also the Malay food they served was very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place itself is amazing, could stay there for a month ... The food is also very good and there's lots to choose from. Very friendly staff.
- Sian (10/5): Lovely relaxed place to stay. - Lovely relaxed place to stay right next to the orang Utan center. Comfortable, spacious villla rooms.
Good food, local specialities are best.
Would like to see more eco policies such as no plastic straws.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing breakfast and really friendly staff. Would love to return
- Lynn (2/5): - Unfortunately, I had a terrible time even trying to reach a staff member or speak to them. The hotel never answered. There are so many other hotels in the area which would love your reservation and would show more interest in their guests.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Extra friendly and helpful staff, location excellent, wifi could be better although accept the location may have baring on this, some of the furnishings need a good clean in lounge area, overall throughly enjoyed our stay.
- karen (8/5): - Nice hotel, glorious gardens overlooking lake. Great ourdoor bar and restaurant. Room well appointed. Food ok, could have been more Malaysian, spicy and tasty.
Didn’t like no privacy between room and bathroom with only a flimsy curtain.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel close to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehab Centre - Gorgeous grounds and so close to the Orang Utan Rehab Centre.
Our room exceeded our expectations - we had a huge bedroom plus a huge living room with a balcony upstairs!
- Graham (8/5): Great hotel surounded by jungle - This is a lovely hotel with each room being an individual chalet.
Restaurant is good and not expencive.
Only slight downside some renervations being done to public areas otherwise 5/5
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location and wonderful food - If you're staying here, you're likely doing so because of the orangutans and sun bear center down the road, which is a great reason. We got to the resort mid-day to check-in and after leaving our bags, walked the 5 minutes down the road to see the sun bears for an hour or two. We made it back in time for lunch at the resort, which was really wonderful. Don't miss their fresh juices either (my favorite is the Heartbeet).
After seeing the orangutans in the afternoon, we returned to the resort and ended up walking around the grounds for an hour or so to watch the birds. We even found a hornbill nest and saw 5+ flying around, including what we think was a rhinoceros. We also spotted an orangutan in the trees, right off the dirt road of the resort, and observed it making it's nest for the night. Very cool! Dinner and breakfast were both amazing as well - eat there for all your meals if you can.
The only things we could complain about: our room (chalet 5) had a few flying insects that would land on the bed and crawl around on the covers and pillows - termites maybe? We were at a nature resort, so we decided not to complain. Also we did have a gecko in the room, but we liked that because it meant less bugs.
The other: Our room had a fancy shower and tub, but not enough hot water for two people. After one shower in which the hot water struggled the whole time, we tried to fill the tub, but could not get enough consistent warm water so gave up after putting in about an inch.
- Aamir (10/5): Lovely hotel in a nature reserve - Lovely hotel with a lake. Loved the hammock on the veranda. Variety of exotic birds visiting the plants and trees while you enjoy breakfast.
Went on a night hike to see nature's smaller creatures such as beetles, scorpions, leeches, and giant spider's.
Also went on a river cruise which was truly amazing.
Excellent value for money.
Would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome setting - It's set within the jungle, so surrounding by awesome nature. The room is a spacious, comfortable. Only thing it misses is WiFi within in the room. The connection is at the restaurant area.
Two min walk to orangutan centre.
- Richard (10/5): Great stay - Lovely room, good food, nice staff. Very convenient for all of the attractions at Sepilok.
- Francis J (10/5): Wonderful place - This is a fabulous place to stay in Sepilok. The hotel is well-maintained, visually attractive, with helpful and efficient staff. The restaurant is excellent, and almost everything you need (Rainforest Discovery Centre, Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Sun Bear Sanctuary) are in easy walking distance.
- John (10/5): Perfect - A perfect resort. Beautiful setting with a large area fo guests to sit and relax. Clean and comfortable rooms. A short walk to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries
- Sue (10/5): - Fantastic resort and lovely accommodation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in the jungle, great location and amazing staff.
- Phil (10/5): Good hotel close to the orangutans - Very pleasant hotel, rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Food and drinks are well priced. Very close to the orangutan sanctuary entrance. Staff at reception were very helpful. Would be even better if the resort had a swimming pool.
- Jessica (10/5): Amazing - Brilliant stay. Such a beautiful resort. Wonderful staff, tasty food and a perfect room. I was sad that we only booked 2 nights
- Nicholas (2/5): Not at all what it seems - Stayed here with my girlfriend in 12A, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE
Pros:
-great night walk! Guides took their time, were great at spotting wildlife
-beautiful facilities (although do not function properly)
-clean room although amenities do not work properly
Cons:
-MY GIRLFRIEND GOT SICK AND WAS VOMITING 4 HOURS AFTER EATING OUR FIRST DINNER AT THE HOTEL. She ate the carrot ginger soup. This cannot be directly pinpointed at the hotel but I am a healthcare professional and there is a likelihood it was from the meal
-the resort will rip you off for any tour besides the night walk. We booked our own river cruise for 3/4 the price and during the river cruise it appeared as if the company offered by the hotel was rushed (we saw and spoke with other hotel guests during the river cruise, on another boat we pulled up next to, during the river cruise itself). They will charge you and extra 20-30 ringit to walk you 5 minutes over the the sun bear and orangutan sanctuaries (they are not hard to find). Their airport taxi is also upcharged (50 ringit) and not better than the ride we received from the airport (40 ringit). The only tour I would say is fairly priced is the night walk.
-the food is awful. My girlfriend ordered the Cantonese noodles, described as fried and nothing mentioned about being a VERY CREAMY dish. She’s lactose intolerant, Asked nicely for something new and the chef was rude
-hot water lasts less than 10 min, u will not be able to use the bathtub
- Gillian (10/5): Recommended - We enjoyed our stay here. The resort is very peaceful and set in lovely grounds only a few minutes' walk from the orangutan and sun bear viewing areas. Our cabin was clean, comfortable and pleasantly furnished. The food in the restaurant was good and the service efficient and friendly.
- Vincent (8/5): Secluded but middle of nowhere - Nice hotel in the middle of the forest. Be aware that it is in the middle of nowhere so rent a car if you can to get to nearby attractions and restaurants/convenience shops. The Rainforest Discovery Center is at least 20min walk and in the heat it can feel much longer. The hotel didn't seem to know much about the local bus times, and would suggest a taxi - which is much more expensive
- Darren (10/5): - Okay accommodation. Excellent food at low prices. We had a few visits from the orangutans, which really made our stay fantastic.
- Maly (10/5): Beautiful surprise! - I was very worried about our jungle hotel and it turned out to be beautiful. Very good food, an amazing design for both the restaurant, restrooms and the river terrace. The room was nice overlooking the river, and it couldn't be closer to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Stay at this hotel and enjoy the place!
PS. Order an espresso martini, thank me later :)
- Celine (10/5): Great location for Orang Utang Sanctuary - You can go twice a day for Orang Utan feeds. Tickets bought in the morning also cover you in the afternoon. You can also do an evening walk at 6pm at the sanctuary just book it at reception. We got to see 2 Orang Utan going to make their beds, we were so close to them.
- Linda (10/5): Great stay near orangutan centre - We loved it here just wished we could stay longer, one night not enough - we did have a visit to the bar from a mangrove snake which whilst bit scary was also exciting - food was best we had in Borneo always hot and freshly cooked
- Dixiegirl2010 (10/5): Tranquil paradise - If you want a break away from the hustle and bustle of busy life this is perfect.
The food is wonderful fresh and lovely choice. We spent our days going to visit wild Orangtan and Sun Bears plus Probiscus monkeys it was a real adventure seeing wild life up close.
We felt so relaxed it is a comfortable friendly atmosphere. You can relax in comfort by the lake read enjoy a drink. Watch the lizards swim in the lake along with large fish.
The flowers everything is just lovely. Great air conditioning in the room and fan. Relaxing are to sit by your room if you want to just relax and watch nature.
- Christina (10/5): - Very friendly service. Clean and nice setting. I felt that the signs leading to the rooms should have been more prominent . We got lost several times at night . Otherwise everything else was pretty amazing. Helpful staff
- Thomas (10/5): A brief visit to Sepilok. - Most people fly from KK to Sepilok. We hired a driver and went overland. This was bumpy but worth seeing the countryside. The Hotel was ideally located for the Orangs and Sun Bears.
The Hotel itself was roomy and comfortable with very attentive staff.
- Lou (10/5): If you’re looking for tranquility.... - Tranquil and relaxing, this lodge was everything I dreamed of and more. Staff are exceptional as is the setting. Food is great and the room is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Only downside was I would have liked a fridge to keep my water cool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really helpful staff, great advice on things to do & really accommodating during our stay. Lovely people
- Vanessa (10/5): This is a beautiful place to stay for a few nights - Food excellent, comfiest bed ever, staff amazing and all set in a beautiful location really close to the orang-utan sanctuary - and do go and see the proboscis monkeys they are incredible. Cocktails here were fab too! Incredible value for money, quite bungalows, lots of privacy and lovely restaurant and bar area. This place is very special, don't hesitate!
- Anjali (10/5): Awesome stay at Sepilok Nature Resort. - Beautiful resort. Nicely laid out. Room met all needs. Lighting could have been better. Food at the restaurant was terrific! And of course, super convienent location given the 5 min walk to both the orangutan and sun bear rehabilitation centers. We were there only one night. Would have been a more relaxing stay if we stayed 2 nights.
- Kaza (10/5): - Great to be right next to the Orangutan sanctuary. Very good to be right in the middle of nature!!!
- Shirley (10/5): An amazing stay! - This resort is within walking distance of the Orangutan and Sun Bear sanctuaries and the Sepilok Nature Reserve. Our chalet was at the very quiet end of the creek, and the magical moment for us was when a young Orangutan came to pay a visit early one morning. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, and the chalets are big with spacious verandas just perfect for sitting quietly, observing the birds and butterflies. Food was good, especially the pizzas and milkshakes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Ideal hotel for Sepilok Nature Parks - We arrived in Sepilok after a week on Mabul and were ready for a clean room and hot water.
Sepilok Nature Resort exceeded all our expectations with excellent facilities and great staff.
The hammock on our patio was a little too low to the ground, everything else was perfect. 5/5
- Lynne (10/5): Tranquil. - Tranquil very welcoming and attentive staff. Room clean.
- Ronald (10/5): five-star orangutan opportunity - The most idyllic setting in the orang-utan neighbourhood. The chalet was so perfectly set into the environment yet had all the necessary comforts of a home. The food wasn't bad either. Friendly service in the extreme. Super location and a fair price too.
- John (10/5): Great stay in a special place - Beautiful, understated resort. Well worth the money.
- Michelle (8/5): - I love this place , it’s only Five minutes walk to the Orangutan and Sun Bear facilities.. The resort is beautiful, surrounded. by the jungle , you could hear the birds singing and the monkeys swinging on the trees at your front porch every morning... The food is good , catered to a Western style plus a Malaysian style .. I will b back for canopy walk next year
- Bren (10/5): Perfect base for wildlife viewing - 10 minuted from Orangutan & Sunbear rehabilitation centres. About 40 minutes from Proboscis monkeys. The hotel is right next to the forest, so we were lucky enough to have orangutans walk past our chalet & eat in trees above! We were also visited by Macaques & fabulous Hornbills.
Staff were friendly & helpful. There was a variety of food available, to suit most tastes.
It was a brilliant stay!
- C&S (10/5): - Wonderful location and hotel. Excellent staff and food. Excursions rather expensive.
- Natalia (10/5): - Without a doubt, a ‘must stay’ when visiting Sabah! Wish we had more days!
- Jim (8/5): Comfortable resort close to nature - Our three-night visit got off to an unfortunate start. Despite two phone calls from Australia and written confirmation, our second room for our adult children initially had a double bed instead of twin beds. The king-size bed in my wife's and my room was ready and that room was excellent.
Facilities overall were good, dining services were satisfying and reasonably priced, and the staff were helpful.
Several tours are offered. The river cruise was worth taking - we saw wild orang-utans, proboscis monkeys and a large monitor. The fire-fly cruise delivered a fair number of these amazing tiny beetles. The night walk from the resort yielded many interesting insects, frogs and birds - and the guide alerted us to any leeches.
My daughter got a wonderful send off on the morning we departed: at 6.30am she went to the balcony of her "chalet" to see a wild orang-utan moving about on the railing. She was about 1.5 metres and suitably thrilled.
- Karen (10/5): Wonderful - A great experience. Highly recommended. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were very good.
- arran (10/5): Borneo adventures - A fantastic hotel set in the middle of the rain forest. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and tidy and the location fully immerses you in nature. The hotel organized night nature trek, cave and river tour was fantastic... we will be back
- Linda (10/5): Nice little gem - Great accommodation and location. Would definitely stay again if in the neighbourhood.
- Steve (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location for visiting Oran utangs, staff helpful and food great value. Good for organising trips in the area
- Bekki (10/5): Incredible stay in the heart of the action - We absolutely loved our time at the Nature resort, from checking in with a welcome drink to being shown to our gorgeous room in the most beautiful setting it was a perfect stay. The resort is the closest way to feel really at one with nature, but at the same time as being surrounded by hotel style comforts. The rooms were spotless and the grounds were so pretty and it was lovely to wake up early, make a coffee and sit in a hammock watching the world go by in the morning.
You are within walking distance to the orang-utan sanctuary, the discovery centre and the sun bears so location couldn't be better. Be sure to do a night walk with your guide at the hotel as that was greta fun and good value too.
One thing, if you like a generous drink don't get too excited about the alcohol portions...our gin and tonics were the size of my thumb ;p definitely best sticking to water and staying sober for a few nights if you stay here.
Overall couldn't be better, loved the place and would recommend to everyone
- old delhi (10/5): secluded oasis - Had a great couple of nights at this property , spacious clean lodges secluded against the back drop of the rain forest , great meals in a great location over looking the lake . recommended
- Ruth (10/5): - Beautiful location, and huge roomy chalets. Staff are all lovely and helpful, and restaurant serves great food. Within walking distance of orangutan and sun bear centres, and staff happy to arrange tours for anything else you'd like to do.
- Scott (10/5): Perfect weekend break - The staff were really friendly and even adjusted their menu to suit our diet. The place is quite relaxing and it's great to just hang out by the water. It's also a short walk to the orang utans and the sun bears.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location to visit the sanctuary's - The resort is very pretty and something you would wxoect in the jungles of Borneo. We had 3 rooms and their us a huge difference between the quality and layout - cabins 19 & 20 were much nicer than 4. The rooms are clean. The pillows hard. Staff super friendly. Check in was slow. I would stay here again for the location
- Martin (10/5): Lovely setting. - Great rooms all mini bungerlows weaving around a big pond ,really close and walkable to monkeys and forest walk, the only let down was the resturant ,with a captive clientele, and no real management going on , staff looking into space rather than attend to customers,we had a car so ate out most nights.
- Paul (10/5): Fabulous Stay - We really enjoyed our stay; room felt luxurious, staff were fabulous, good food, great place to hang out and fabulous location. Just 5 min walk to the orangutan and sun bear centre. Easily walkable to the rainforest discovery centre, when it's cooler too. We loved all of these - easy to do on your own - and booked a guide from the hotel to see the probiscous monkeys which was a real treat. Would absolutely recommend and hope to come back sometime.
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. - Fantastic three night stay with excellent food and wonderful staff in beautiful surroundings.
- R&R (10/5): A little bit of luxury in the jungle:) - Lovely accommodation surrounded by nature, very comfortable and amazing food! Terima Kasih to all the staff for a wonderful stay.
- Martin (8/5): A1 location - The best in the area, near it all attraction wise, food ok don't expect too much
- Sue (10/5): Very relaxing hotel. - Beautiful resort. I didn't have any problems at all. I could not fault anything. I was travelling by myself and felt very safe.
- Heidi (8/5): In the Middle of Nature - Had a pleasant stay.
Nice huts in a beautiful surrounding
- saadiah (8/5): good interior design, comfort bed, - difficult access to room, encountered snake on the way to room,
orchid plants everywhere, but not blooming,
otherwise, very pleasant, comfort stay. good for getaway.
dissappointed as road is not accessible to coffee shop and so on, and breakfast not provided
- Kathy and John (10/5): Overall a very nice lodge in a great location - We stayed 3 nights. The lodge is a 5 minute walk to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries. Nice, comfortable accommodation though I wish the bathroom had a door rather than a curtain. The lodge itself is spacious with games, books and plenty of comfortable seating. Lunch and dinner were good with ample choices. Breakfast was a little lackluster but that's just my opinion. We saw some of the other nearby lodges and were very happy we were at SNR, it was much nicer than the others.
Do take time to visit the Labuk Bay proboscis monkey sanctuary and the rainforest discovery center. Go early or late to the rainforest center and walk the canopy and the trails. We saw an orangutan making a nest at dusk, very cool.
