Guest Reviews
- Patrice (8/5): - Convenient location, lovely room, difficult 2 get hold of property manager
- Irma (8/5): - Very close to art district - that's what we wanted. I would have preferred the air conditioner a bit cooler at night. Overall, it was Great!
- Amy (6/5): - The inside of the house was beautiful, but the outside neglected. Staff person was hardly there and never even saw the owner. Check in process was very stressful. Could not contact the owner and neither could Expedia staff member. Took several hours
- Stephen (8/5): - It needed a self service breakfast bar
- Donya (8/5): - Owner very easy to contact. Allowed early checkin and late check out during our stay.
- Luis (8/5): - Nice overall, wish breakfast was served earlier. Would stay again
- José Fernando (8/5): - I don’t like the neighborhoods. There is nothing to do around.
- José Fernando (8/5): - The neighbor does not have any single attraction.
- Sarah (10/5): - The inn keeper was very friendly and made us feel special. The entire area was well kept and spotless
- Estie (10/5): - The rooms are lovely and clean. Great host and delicious breakfast.
- Helen (10/5): - Old fashioned B&B that serves excellent breakfast!
The Hibiscus is a gem in Ft Myers. A short walk to downtown and a short walk the other direction to the Edison gardens. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We highly recommend.
- Beverly (10/5): - Shelia was very helpful and fun to talk to about our stay in Fort Myers. We really appreciated their help to send a coconut postcard as a special birthday surprise. Everyone at Hibiscus House B & B was personable and helpful. Great experience. Thanks
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommend the Hibiscus House - We really enjoyed our stay at the Hibiscus House in Ft Myers. We got a warm welcome from Sheila the innkeeper and our "check-in" felt more like arriving at a friend's house. The location is great--you can walk downtown or to the grocery store and there are a couple of restaurants really close by. A lot of attention has been paid to the guest experience and we had everything we needed. The room was very comfortable (nice bed, decent pillows, 2 armchairs, extra towels, etc). The only downside is that the house starts to feel (and sound) active starting around 7am ET, so if you want to sleep in I'd recommend booking one of the upstairs rooms. Another note for the non-morning people: Breakfast is served from 9 to 9:15am only, so not a very leisurely window of time (especially for anyone coming from a western time zone).
- Allen (10/5): - Great location with a dedicated parking lot and easy access to downtown Fort Meyers restaurants. Super- accommodating staff/owners. Highly recommend.
- Gary (10/5): - Beautiful, charming B&B, very clean, great fusion of an older home that has been partially updated with modern, new amenities while maintaining the charm of original floors and ceilings and old stairs, etc. The owners are very friendly. I liked the breakfast although one of our party did not. Near downtown and walkable to a nice microbrew pub and on the main north-south street of Ft. Myers.
- Kevin (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay. Staff were lovely and helpful. Highly recommended.
- Geoff (10/5): Awesome! Hibiscus House B & B - This is my first experience staying at a B & B! I would love to do it again! It was very comfortable in our bedroom. The only minor complaint I have is that on the door out of our room the shade left open space for someone to be able to look on our room. Also looks like the outside could use a fresh coat of paint. We did enjoy our stay!
- Thomas (10/5): Hibiscus House January 2022 - The room was clean and comfortable. The hosts are very gracious and accommodating. We would stay again.
- Natalie (10/5): - The hospitality was amazing!
Nice and clean. The place is very quaint with great details.
Bathroom was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. I totally recommend this B&B.
- Bethany (10/5): - Super Clean. Modern Bathrooms. Well thought out check-in. Excellent home cooked Bfast. Just the right amount of owner socializing. Easy walk to Edison/Ford Winter Estates and Downtown. Adorable staff. Friendly, well behaved dog.
- Soila (10/5): - Awesome!! The staff were gracious and accommodating. What set them apart is their attentiveness to details.
They friendship is sincere. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your opening your home and making us feel at home. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - If you like old, historic, houses with charm, this is your house. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean, and all have a private bathroom and entry/exit. Yes, some of the floors creak, but everything was fine for our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful house with wonderful staff. Only small negative - closer to the main road than we would have preferred.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place. Very clean, pleasant owner, great location and fantastic breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - First time at a B&B and it was such a pleasure! The cottage/house was beautiful and very well maintained. The bedroom we had was so cute & comfy. I slept really well and the bathroom and shower especially, well let’s just say my husband loved the rainfall shower head😀. Bob, our host made us a delicious pancake breakfast and was a pleasure to talk to. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone else!
- Maria (8/5): - Great walking location to downtown. Comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, two cute sitting rooms. Host was super friendly and helpful. Great getaway weekend.
- Josephine A (10/5): - Beautiful room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent!
- Randy (10/5): - The property was well maintained and close to the historic downtown. It was within easy driving distance of everything that we wanted to see in Fort Myers. The host was a great conversationalist and gave great information on places to visit. He was also an awesome chef, the breakfasts were amazing. The only negative was that it is located on a busy street and you hear the traffic, but the positives far outweigh the noise.
- Matthew (10/5): - This place has great character that makes for a peaceful ambiance. Bob and Colleen (owners) work hard to make sure your comfortable and they’re very knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast is great, too!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very Disappointing - Disingenuous
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location was perfect for restaurants and for spring training baseball games.
- William (8/5): Go in shoulder season - This was a very nice B&B in a great location in walking distance to downtown. You might want to consider going in shoulder season, however, as you might catch a break on the nightly rate. It was a little pricey. But overall a nice stay with very nice hosts.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Freshly prepared good breakfast every day by Bob.
Point of improvement to get an even higher quality: serve also fresh juice
- Wolfgang (10/5): - We’ve never stayed in a B&B before but were pleasantly surprised. The attention to detail was fantastic and Bob was helpful and welcoming. I’d recommend staying here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A plus all around! Clean beautiful facility & friendly owners!
- Matthew (10/5): A MUST stay when visiting Ft. Meyers - My wife and I stayed at the Hibiscus House over the July 4th weekend and had a fantastic experience. This was our first visit to a B&B and Bob and Colleen set the bar for any B&B's we visit in the future. The customer service was exceptional. The rooms were bright, very clean and welcoming. The homemade breakfasts were to die for. No detail was missed our entire visit. If you have a question about anything....from where to eat, what to see/do Bob and Colleen can get you pointed in the right direction. Ft Meyers is a great place to visit and The Hibiscus House B&B should absolutely be part of the experience. My wife and I can't wait to get back.
- Teamcowart (10/5): - The owners have a lovely property and love the location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location near historic downtown, waterfront park and marina. B&B was very nice, with classic high end finishes. Check in was personal and efficient. Dedicated on property parking. Very accommodating, we needed to leave early before 0900 breakfast. We were served a very nice breakfast at 0830 and were on our way before 0900. We had dinner at one of the recommended restaurants, Izzy's. Excellent service and seafood. Only shortcoming was weak internet connection. Overall excellent, we would stay again.
- George (10/5): Great B & B - Great accommodations, we will always go here every time we visit the area. Convince to many area attractions and the owners were awesome!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were wonderful, great people. Very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful hosts and very very nice room and bath. Convenient location for walking into town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and relaxing. Would definitely visit again.
- Chad (10/5): Great for families - Owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful even though we were only there for 1 night. Periwinkle room was perfect for our family of 4. Common areas were clean and comfortable, room was beautiful with rainfall showerhead and stained glass window. Breakfast was delicious and hostess made a special batch of scrambled eggs for one of my kids that didn't care for the frittata. We were able to walk to a local pizza place for dinner that was awesome (downtown house of pizza) and found many others walking out and about in the evening on our way back...area was well lit and we felt very safe. We were surprised to learn our 2 kids were 2 of only 3 they've had stay there...the owners have a daughter of their own and we were able to buy Girl Scout cookies from her. Overall great stay and would book this place again in a heartbeat if we're back in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Hibiscus House was a very Nice B&B.An easy walk to River District
for many dining choices.Great accomidations and breakfasts.Very good hosts.
- james (10/5): Location, Location, Location. - We wanted to be near the Edison Ford Winter Estate and it's the closest. Wonderful stay. The breakfest was wonderful. We enjoyed visiting with the other guests. We were surprised that many people (Local) stayed there. The location is so close to many entertainment choices. We went to 2 outdoor concerts. 1 with a cello and Spanish guitar, and another at a local ice cream parlor pky lot
- Antonios (10/5): Must stay! - We are typical chain hotel people and this was our first B&B. It was, to say the least, an excellent experience. Super clean and organized with the friendly interaction of Bob and his wife Colleen. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and with the recommendations given by Bob for local food venues, it was made even better. Our room and a few of the others also have their own outside entry. This was a bonus for us to come and go with ease. Thank you for a great experience!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable hotel close to city. Owner was welcoming although we arrived late. He designed out breakfast to meet our needs.
- Mary (10/5): Edison/Ford first class - True southern comfort amid turn of the century charm. Provincial architecture yet state of the art bathrooms combine for maximum enjoyment of the historical downtown Fort Myers. Felt like an Edison or a Ford!
- Steven (6/5): - Good downtown location, free parking, friendly host, nice bed. Miserly breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was walking distance to downtown, marinas, grocers, and restaurants. My room was clean and inviting.
