- Leeland (7/5): I'd return! - Instructions for Keurig seemed to assume the machine was empty of water. It wasn't. So my hot cocoa overflowed - luckily not also overflowing the catch tray (which I emptied and cleaned). Either staff should make sure Keurig is empty or instructions should be modified.

The room was very hot when we got there and the thermostat didn't do anything to really change the comfort of the room. I had to crack open the window to sleep comfortably and it was a cold night (we woke up to a light snow).

- Amanda (10/5): - The room was AMAZING!! All of the artwork inside was beautiful. The buildings around it were lovely and older. Very quiet neighborhood with plenty of walking paths. So welcoming and inviting. I stayed here with my 3 kids. They absolutely loved it as well!

- Brian (8/5): - We appreciate the unique and ornate shared areas and were surprised by the modern updated room. It was large, clean, and quiet. The age of the building comes with a bit of a smell that we were able to mask when in our room. The amenities are few, but the premise behind Erik’s Retreat makes the lack of extras easy to overlook. We only needed the room as a landing place and was perfectly comfortable for our needs! We’d stay again!

- Payne (6/5): - I like the donation thing that was nice to see, but i also saw that on Google review. They serve breakfast but I did not see any breakfast. I was kind of disappointed on that. And the instructions, it didn't come with a parking map. I had to ask for 1 thankfully, the lady was very accommodating on that. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

From that point on we felt right at home. When we visit Minneapolis again, we will stay at Erik's Retreat if there is room for us.

Took a while to figure out how to open the door to the building. No one present to assist or answer the phone. Lobby is eerie and smells really musty -well we found a huge water bubble in the ceiling on day 1 that began leaking on day 2 everywhere-just found a bucket under it. No repairs being done. Elevator smelled like urine very strongly. Room was all white and beige felt like being in a sanitarium no pictures, no colors. White carpet! It was stained. Tiles in shower coming off, toilet leaked. No working AC-thankfully windows opened to air out the musty stale smell-it smelt like stale cigarettes from years past like great aunt betsy’s old apartment. Parking 1/2 block away -just weird and inconvenient. Would never stay again.

I think I had the best sleep in months, I was really tired though, we came from Georgia. Dominic was so professional and helpful. We will definitely stay again. No frills but I liked that.

- NaplzTraveler (10/5): Perfect Set-Up for the Independent Traveler - This is a terrific place with a great location for independent travelers. It is like having your own efficiency apartment (but without a kitchen). I stayed here nearly a week and found it to be incredibly quiet, very clean, and well appointed including soft bathrobe, toiletries, Keurig, and mini-fridge. Bed and pillows are super comfy, shower is hot and strong. Very happy to support the individuals that this non-profit helps. You have to pay up front and all communication with staff is via email or phone, I didn't see or meet anyone in the building but I also didn't need or request the housekeeping service they provide. Only downside is that parking is about 1.5 blocks down the street in a shared lot. NBD if you're mobile. I will definitely stay here again.

- hava (10/5): A step into yester-year, hospitality finest. - This hotel is very Vintage. Upon entrance was a pianist playing the piano beautifully. Very large mirrors and pictures showcasing the historic art and local partnerships. Very clean, quiet, and the reseptionist gave us door to door service. Enjoy my stay

One of the team members walked me to my room to make sure I could get in with the code. He also showed me the amenities in the room and saw the TV instructions were missing, so he brought those and a fan to the room.

- Trevor (10/5): Amazing stay at Erik's Retreat - We liked the location and staff- everyone was super friendly and always willing to help/answer any questions we had! We also love that everything is run by young people with autism and that our stay directly supports them- everyone was awesome! Very happy with our stay. The only thing we thought could change is including a microwave in the rooms- our room did not have one. Very minor inconvenience, does not affect our overall satisfaction!

- Robbin (10/5): - This was our third stay at Eriks Retreat and it keeps on getting better. We finally arrived early enough to meet a few staff members who greeted us, shared some good information and escorted us to our room. We noticed that there is now music in the lobby which makes it feel a little less eerie when the staff is not present. Also, there were more treats in the room baked by Maggie, one of the workers who is also autistic. Since last year, the hotel offers a breakfast for guests Friday through Sunday. We did not take advantage of this but will keep it in mind for the future. One of the reasons we choose to come here is that it is run by adults with autism. The suites are updated, clean and well supplied. You can also make donations to this wonderful organization if in the small dropbox in your room if you have enjoyed your stay

- Gabrielle (6/5): - Nice, clean, and easy entry. Parking is very inconvenient. It would have been nice to be informed of the road construction. The AC did not work, our room was close to 80 degrees. Never got a response to my email, even though the property said we could contact them by email. All that being said, I would consider staying again.
- Karen (2/5): - This is not a hotel; it’s an air b&b that has hotel-like rooms in an apartment building. There is no staff on site, at least outside of office hours. The air conditioning was not working in the building so after two 80 degree days everywhere in the building was hot and stuffy. The windows do open but the building is next to the freeway so noisy. Know that the property refunded me for my stay and here’s why: parking is available but a block away and during our stay, road construction had taken out the sidewalks so I had to walk through mud and uneven ground. They are not in control of roadwork but they did not warn us of this problem. Navigating to the building before 6 pm and after 9 am was not possible by car due to road closure. Luckily after 6, the construction folks left and opened the road so I could get to the building to drop off so my handicapped husband. I asked about accessibility and was told there were grab bars in the shower but there are not. Additionally when I called to get help navigating and knowing where to park, there was only voicemail. I was able to get someone via text fairly quickly.

- Colleen (9/5): Wonderful mission & place to stay! - Erik’s Retreat is unlike other lodging places I’ve been to. The room was very clean, large & comfortable (Executive Queen Suite). Erik’s Retreat had a warmth to it that I haven’t found elsewhere. Communications with staff was usually via text. They were very accommodating of my particular needs. Also, being a guest here supports a great cause. I definitely would stay here again! The city of Edina is presently doing road & other public works work. Parking was free but had to walk about a couple of blocks on a dirt/gravel road to get to Erik’s Retreat from the designated parking area. Later I found out that they had underground parking for an additional small fee. I believe the underground parking is limited. Once the road work is done I think much of this situation will be resolved. *Guests are allowed to load & unload at front entrance.

- William (9/5): Great But Stuffy Room - Overall, a great place. Getting checked in was a breeze, and everything worked. Nice lobby area with comfortable chairs. Also, I liked the free cookies and Chex mix. Finally, there is a fantastic restaurant four blocks away in a strip mall, i.e., Patrick's. Best breakfast I'd had in years. There was street construction directly in front of the building that should have been mentioned. The AC was not in operation. Only ambient air was being circulated. As a result, my room was stuffy, making it very difficult to sleep. Finally, the location of the available parking was not disclosed until after check-in.

We only had a problem with locking our door to leave but my text was answered quickly and we were on our way! There was street parking available right in front so that wasn’t an issue. - Jeff (10/5): Nice Stay - The room was nice. The bathroom was spacious and there were handmade complimentary treats. There was no lobby or any person to check us in. It was fine, they sent us a very detailed letter explaining how to get in, where to park, and how to access our room. The only minor crtique i could make was there was not an ice machine. We were told there would be ice in the mini-fridge, but there was not. I received an email asking if we got checked in ok, i mentioned the no ice thing, bit never heard back. Truly not a game changer, but it would have been nice to get some type of response. We would absolutely stay there again. Thank you Erik's Retreat.

- Barnes (9/5): Great place, Greater cause - Room was clean and spacious!! Good price for 800 sq. Ft. Apt style room with two separate bedrooms, which is perfect for teens or a group of friends. My family loved the complimentary treats and coffee! Building and grounds were beautiful. Neighborhood was quiet at night. Loved the self check-in and free parking. Parking was easy to find and not crowded. Location and easy access to the highway was convenient to get around town. I think the thing I loved the most was that the business is a non-profit that assists individuals with autism! As a social worker, it was really nice to see that places like this can thrive and make positive changes in people's lives. I felt much better about staying here than at anything owned by a corporation concerned only for their profit margins. Shower head was slightly loose and needed tightening in order for the shower head to spray downward. The welcome email eluded to the room key code being sent in another document, but it was the same as the door key code in the welcome email, which was a bit confusing. I'm a breakfast person, so instead of complimentary cookies and brownies, if one of them were a muffin or cinnamon roll, that would be perfect!!!

Good, quiet neighborhood. No issues. Good value. No staff onsite while I was there. No food or drink for purchase onsite. Good place to stay if you have a car. If you don't have a car, location is somewhat out of the way. A few restaurants and a store within walking distance. There is a bus about a half a mile away.

Our bed was super comfortable. And the room was stylish and up to date. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plus it was very affordable. I can’t think of anything that we didn’t like.

- Fayne (10/5): I'd stay there again. - The room was clean and well appointed. That they charged for parking, but the need to make repairs so it made sense.
- Paul (8/5): - The property was very convenient and roomy. The unfortunate thing is the mattress was terrible, drooping to the middle. We were so tired that we fell asleep anyway, but with all the positives this has... a bad mattress is a deal-breaker consideration for future bookings.
- Steve (5/5): Not a good stay - The location was fine Parking was not convenient. Most of the time we had to park two buildings away. The bed was very soft. I often had to put the access code to get in the building three or four times. The instructions given up front was clear and helpful up front, but I was unable to get any questions answered after check in. It was inappropriate after we checked in.
- Yuting (10/5): - We really enjoy the stay in Erik’s Retreat. The room is clean and quiet. We were a bit concerned about the airplane noise mentioned in some comments, but we can barely hear the airplane… Check in instructions are very clear, and no unnecessary social encounter with staffs at all. Great stay overall! Will definitely come back again when we are in the area.

- Robbin (10/5): - This was our second visit to Erik's Retreat. The check in process is seamless as it is all done virtually. Room was spacious, clean and well organized. Plenty of bath toiletries available. Keurig coffee in the morning with brownies and cookies for a donation if you wish. We love the concept of this property and will return again!

- Luanne (10/5): - I loved the flowers, immaculate garden areas and lawn! Appreciated the ample supply of towels and supplies and how tidy and clean everything was. It was a beautiful quiet place with the exception of noise from air traffic which we got used to easily enough. The history of the building and the decor was great too. A nice lady next door assisted us with entry into the front door, just had a little confusion about it. Everything worked as it should though, thank you!

We felt like we had a private apartment for the night….super clean and quiet - exactly what we were after…and the fact that we were helping out a cause at the same time - slam dunk. Bravo to the team there - you are doing a great job!
- Carol (7/5): Good - I liked the area, the atmosphere, and the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and welcoming. The air system was very loud. I don't appreciate contactless service, though the person on the phone was very helpful and kind. I had trouble getting into the garage to park my car. Leaving a copy of my ID and credit card# on the desk was a no go for me, but it was handled very nicely and respectively by the phone contact. I would stay again, and check-in would be smoother, now that I understand. Need to fix bathroom outlet. Their hair dryer blew the breaker.
- Claudia (10/5): - Erik’s Retreat was close to our family so we went for it. We were pleased with the mission of the hotel and pleasantly surprised by the impeccable marble bathroom and the meticulous order of our room. The staff were helpful and personable. We’ll stay here again without a doubt!!

- ANN (10/5): A delightful surprise - I booked my room as a 2-day respite while the floors in my home were being refinished. I was delighted to be treated to a large room well-appointed. I arrived after work the first day and was able to rest. I worked in my room quietly all day the second day in pleasant surroundings with a view of their beautiful yard.
