• Cihan (9/5): Very Good Hotel - It is a very good hotel with a different atmosphere since it is an old prison. Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best breakfast in Europe between the hotel i’ve stayed till today. The location is a bit far, but has a very lovely walking from Gamla Stan for about 45 minutes, also you can always take the metro, but i walked everyday. The area is a bit dark while walking after you got into the hotel’s road, but it feels safe. I understand the thing about in Sweden sheets, towels etc have an extra fee, but at least we shouldn’t handle to put them to the bed. Also when we rent the towel, it’d be good it come with a hand towel and also maybe a towel for the bathroom floor. During the four nights i’ve stayed, my room haven’t been cleaned even onced, i also didn’t request but the day i came was rainy and my luggage carried some earth to the room and they stayed there while i was staying. Even i just wanted to tell these, it was a really good experience to stay at that hotel.

• Maiju (8/5): Kaunis ympäristö ja ihan hyvä majoitus - Rakennus sijaitsee hienossa luonnonläheisessä ympäristössä saaressa, jota oli mukava tutkia ja siellä oli hiljaista. Sijainnin vuoksi majoitukseen täytyy erikseen kävellä (meillä ei ollut autoa käytössä), mutta onneksi lähimmät julkisen liikenteen pysäkit ovat melko lähellä. Aamupalabuffet on oikein hyvä ja monipuolinen. Huoneessa on mukava sänky, jossa sai hyvät yöunet. Siistit tilat, plussaa että roskat sai kierrätettyä kunnolla. Hostellin yhteiskäyttökeittiö on iso ja todella hyvin varusteltu, siellä pystyisi helposti valmistamaan itse aterioita. Tukholman majoitusten yleinen hintataso huomioon ottaen tässä oli hyvä hinta-laatusuhde. Heti huoneiden ulkopuolella käytävätilassa oli usein ihmisiä katselemassa rakennuksen historiasta kertovaa näyttelyä, mikä aiheutti kiusaantuneisuutta esim. siirtyessä jaetuista suihkutiloista pelkkä pyyhe päällä omaan huoneeseen. Äänet käytävästä kuuluivat oven läpi huoneeseen melko hyvin. Huone oli pieni ja ahtaan tuntuinen, kun tavaroille ei ollut kunnolla laskutilaa; olisin kaivannut paria ylimääräistä seinähyllyä ja -koukkua. Huoneessa tuli melko lämmin yöllä, mutta kiinteiden ikkunaluukkujen takia huonetta ei voi tuulettaa jos haluaa pitää huoneen myös pimeänä. Miinusta siitä, että sänky täytyy itse pedata ja petivaatteet täytyy myös purkaa lopuksi. Uloskirjautuminen on hämmentävän aikaisin, jo klo 10.

• Sophia (6/5): Mysigt och lite spännande. - Vacker byggnad med mycket historia! Ligger fint i naturen och nära stan. Lugnt och skönt, bra frukostbuffé. Att vandrarhemskorridoren var ett museum. Det kändes lite stressigt när man skulle duscha och gå på toa, även om det inte var mycket besökare. Man kanske kan släcka ner lite på natten iaf? Jag tyckte också att det var synd att det inte fanns nån info om klassiker-filmen ”Släpp fångarna loss-det är vår!”. Hade varit fint med en fakta-hörna och kanske lite merch kopplat till den. Varför inte visa filmen rullande nån stans?

Loved the museum and learning about the island and prison. Not many negatives for me. Disappointed that the restaurant closed early on a Sunday but a few decent restaurant options a 10 minute walk away.
• Marcela (8/5): Nice stay at a former prison - The differential of this place is the opportunity to stay in a former prison, to enjoy this uniqueness, the structure of the building The property is not located in a central area and to get there envolves different transportation and walking. The walking part can be a bit scary when it’s very late at night or when you have a big luggage. The basic room with the bunk bed is very small and can be inconvenient if you are not alone or with luggage.

• Bedford (7/5): - Location was nice, although getting told this location was for old people. It is a long walk from Gamla stan/ main city but very much worth it, it is amazing. If you're young there is not much of a young person vibe but we were out most of the time so did not matter much. Hostel itself is great, very unique experience staying in a prison and is well kept. Showers didn't warm up one morning. Shower also flooded - was only issue and is very minor because worked the other days.

• Niamh (10/5): Such a brilliant stay. Excellant value and amazing vibe! - The building itself is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail. The atmosphere and staff were incredible. The rooms were compact but user friendly. The wifi was speedy. Tiny problems: the mattress was a little thin, the bar was quite expensive, the TV was unable to connect to phone or chromecast so was unusable as we aren't Swedish speakers. These are all petty in comparison to an overall incredible stay!

• Ronald (8/5): Unieke historische accomodatie aan de rand van het centrum! - De hele geschiedenis achter dit complex vond ik interessant en het slapen in een voormalige cel gaf een totaalbeleving. Daarnaast was het goed betaalbaar en eenvoudig te bereiken met het OV. Niets!

• Ecclestone (8/5): Enjoyable break from busy Stockholm - It is a lovely location, close to undergroud and shops while at the same time in the middle of the park across from the water The bunk beds are tough to navigate. Found it particularly difficult to climb up. Only for very fit guests. Sheets and towels have to be paid separately at the location. Nowadays I do not see the point of that since the price is very similar to a hotel. It should be included in the price.

• Dorte (9/5): Dejlig beliggenhed i anderledes omgivelser - Rolig og smuk beliggenhed, 15 min til tog og enkelte busser tættere på. Selvom det er et stort sted, er der ikke larm fra gangarealer og øvrige værelser. Rigtig god morgenmad. Værelserne er meget små. Synes nogle af referencerne til stedet tidligere var fængsel er for meget; spejl udformet som guillotine og ure med “you are doing time” og med angivelse af tidspunkt i kendte fængsler i verden, er ikke oplysende, men plat og ikke relevant for at forstå historien.
