Guest Reviews
- Raphael (8/5): Schöner Aufenthalt - Zimmer war sehr schön Beim einchecken war das Personal nicht sehr freundlich!
- Hae WON (9/5): -
- Kimberley (9/5): - The room was lovely and a better value than anywhere else we stayed on our Alaska vacation. The restaurant was excellent and staff there were very friendly and helpful. Front desk staff and cafe staff were also very friendly and helpful. The small store in the lobby had just what we needed. There was no room cleaning or towel replacement in between our two nights in the lodge. We had to find the cleaning supply closet ourselves to get refills of the coffee pods. We were there for the last two nights of the season, so perhaps some staff were already gone.
- Charles (8/5): Brilliant reception staff but housekeeping poor! - We had two nights here, big comfortable room, hotel is easy to find and good car parking.
Reception staff, I cannot speak too highly about them, they were brilliant when I needed them.
However, as it was a two night day on the second day we got back to our room to find that towels have been changed but the beds were left unmade and coffee, cups etc were not replenished, they were only paper cups as well!
When I complained to reception the first thing they said to me was are you a HollandAmerica cruise customer? Should that make any difference? of course I was not Holland America but I was a paying customer. Sloppy housekeeping meant 4 star review and not 5.
- Hae WON (10/5): - It was so good
- Bennett (9/5): Quaint and lovely would see retreat. The beds were very comfortable and the view was amazing. - Our deluxe double queen room was everything we expected. They were starting to close things down for the season so some things got overlooked like a 2nd cup for coffee in the room, which kind of led to some Grumpy’s lol
- Heidy (10/5): Cozy Cabins, Not-So-Cozy Noise - The lodge itself is very charming — the cabins have that cozy, rustic feel and the setting along the road to Exit Glacier is beautiful. It really feels like a peaceful getaway in the woods.
Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by how thin the walls are. We could hear absolutely everything going on in the cabin next door, and let’s just say it was not the kind of “wilderness sounds” we were hoping for. It made it very hard to get any sleep with all the noise and excitement coming through the walls.
Overall, it’s a cute place in a great location, but soundproofing is a serious issue. Be prepared — you may end up hearing more than just the glacier river running by.
- Renae (10/5): - Loved this little lodge!
- Gregory (10/5): - Loved the location
- Juliann (10/5): - Gorgeous setting!
- Anthony (10/5): - Delightful and helpful staff
- malcolm b (10/5): - Loved the Hand soap in the rooms.
In fact, after departure I called front desk and asked about the product. The Front Desk was very helpful in everything.
- Mary (10/5): - Very quaint and beautiful nature
- Sidney (10/5): Exceptional accommodations in serene lovely forest - Loved our stay at Windsong. Gorgeous Mountain View’s. Brand new accomodation with lovely furnishings.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great Job
- Rahul (10/5): It was amazing and shall stay with me for looong time to come - Excellent 👌 place to stay really a wind song
Clean beautiful spacious rooms and always believe that the people who their make the experience great
So thank you Cathy and the property for making our stay great
Specially the facility to drop the luggage directly at the cruise terminal made us go around Seward with ease Could have added breakfast 🥪 in the deal simple but something should have been added
- Janet (10/5): - We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely lodge which was built in such a beautiful setting a couple of miles out of town. Our spacious room was very quiet and was a quick walk to the restaurant/bar and lobby. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and the shuttle bus to and from downtown, the station and the harbour was very reliable.
- Thomas (10/5): Excellent and exceptional. - Easily accessible and well maintained. Exceptional staff who handles your check in and check out. Close to Exit Glacier and Kenai fjords National Park. Nothing.
- Andrew (6/5): - We had high expectations for the property based on past reviews. The rooms are spread out across the area of the property but we didn’t mind that. The room felt dirty and there was a dead fly with dried blood on the windowsill that looked to have been there for a while. We mentioned this to the front desk and the person didn’t seem concerned, but asked if we wanted house keeping and we said yes, but upon returning to our room we only found the bath towels had been changed, so we mentioned this issue and requested cleaning for the next day. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, only the towels were changed and I mentioned the dead fly still remained plus the beds untouched. Apparently the person at front desk explained that if there was any single item of clothing on the beds, staff wouldn’t touch the bed (we should’ve been told before, not after, the fact). The flu remained there at check out. The area around is beautiful so that’s the only reason to recommend. The restaurant next door was expectedly busy for breakfast, long wait time for pancakes and french toast (which was cold, even a table next to us had cold French toast). We couldn’t wait another 30 minutes for a fresh dish after having waited a while already, as we had a tour to get to, so we mentioned this to the staff who deducted 30% off the item from the bill. I would eat elsewhere as the value for money and quality of food isn’t great.
- Alejandro (10/5): - Just great
- Helen (9/5): -
- James (10/5): -
- Sue (10/5): - So the comfort and service is great. I like the setting atmosphere. Very nice
- Robert (10/5): - Beautiful, accommodating, amazing
- Susan (10/5): - Clean room
- Jerry (9/5): I would recommend the lodge to any other travelers, the staff was nice and friendly, the room was clean. - The property layout is nice. The staff were good. Location is adequate. Room layout, preference is a full bathroom with sink together.
- Chad (6/5): - The property could use updating and there were added costs for “amenities” that aren’t appropriate in this day and age. Properties need to stop charging hidden fees. We booked via Expedia and it clearly stated “includes all fees and taxes” and then we were billed separately. We also had charges from “Facebook Pay” for “convenience store groceries” that turned out to be for charges at the Roadhouae but this stuff needs to be more clear to the guests. The folks at the front desk were extremely friendly and the property is in a quiet and peaceful location.
- Isaac (10/5): - Room was comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful. Having transportation into town was super helpful as well and meant we didn't have to drive or figure out parking even for a later evening out.
- Judy (10/5): - Nice rustic look but modern facilities
- Amit (3/5): Worst Experience ever - Nothing really. They gave us a room with foul feet smell. Didn’t clean the rooms, making my baby sick and we had to miss quite a few tours because of this. Not at all recommended for people with kids.
- Veenasa (4/5): - not a worth of money
- rithwik (10/5): -
- Jim (6/5): plumbing needs work - cold water supply in sink was veery slow
- Draves (9/5): - Lodge style with back woods feel, beautiful lobby, friendly staff, excellent restaurant, convenient shuttle to Seward.
Room modest, very clean, cable, small refrig, private toilet/tub-shower room, with vanity in sleeping area.
- Craig (7/5): -
- Jordan (8/5): - Everything was great. Only complaint I would have would be the bathroom. Kinda dim, not good water pressure, and the sink is outside the bathroom next to the beds. Personal preference
- LOIS (10/5): Lovely stay - Very nice and unique experience.
- Nicole (10/5): - Really nice and clean. Nice staff. I would definitely stay here again.
- Debra (10/5): - We appreciated your shuttle service. It made the town so much more convenient.
- NJTravelTrio (10/5): Pleasant professional lodge operation at reasonable price. - This is a well-run lodge operation providing an expansive lobby and pleasant rooms whose backs face the woods. Our room had plenty of surface tops for managing personal belongings and also had a usable desk. We found the on-campus laundromat very convenient after some day-hike adventures by Exit Glacier. Based on an auto-generated message I received after completing the booking, I think something like a $19 resort or amenities fee was added to the listed price shortly before I completed the online purchase, probably geared to covering the costs of the free shuttle into town. But the price of the room was still fair and, as I saw the full price in advance, I was treated fairly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - Fantastic from check in to check out.
- JOHAO (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Jennifer (10/5): - great!
- Gabriella (9/5): High quality for the local average. - High quality lodge. Good location even if not in center town (available free shuttle to go there). Appreciated you can eat you ready meals in a dedicated equipped area. Considering the rooms rates breakfast should be included...
- Raymond (4/5): - Very poorly insulated for noise. Try to get an upstairs room because otherwise you will hear every footstep, door opening, toilet flush, etc. it is loud! Rooms need modernization. Location is amazing.
- Guest (10/5): -
- Joel (10/5): - Nice place
- John (10/5): - Not what the photos depicted but it’s nice
- Timothy (2/5): Skip and book a national chain. You’ll be happier - It’s mediocre at best. There is ZERO coffee for the morning without walking (and likely) driving due to distance to the main lobby to PAY $5 for a 16oz drip coffee. Skip this place and book a standard hotel with amenities.
- Vickie (10/5): Worth it!! - Great place to stay. I will return when in the area.
- Allison (8/5): - Loved this property! It has a great lodge too. Heck I’m with coffee bar and store. The entire property is very nice and feels like your in the middle of the woods. The cabins are spread out in the property and each have 6 rooms.
They have a guest shuttle to take you downtown ( about 7 minute drive ) and other stops.
Highly recommend!
- Gina (10/5): Quiet and Comfortable - On the road to Kenai Fjords and Exit Glacier. Quiet. Lodge is a great place to hang out.
- Joyce (8/5): - We left a small bag of souvenirs in the shuttle at the train station. They were found and mailed to us but we were charged for the inconvenience in addition to the postage. I am not sure if this is customary but the charge seemed unreasonable given the amount of money spent on the room and at the restaurant.
- nita (8/5): - The location and views were exceptional
The shuttle made travel very easy
This was one of the best hotels we stayed at on this trip in Alaska No lunch available
- Kelley (9/5): -
- JAMES (10/5): - Great location
- susan (8/5): Beautiful hotel in beautiful setting - Was very nice and new. Lots of stuff in Alaska is not particularly nice, just cuz it's old. But this hotel is very nice. Great laundry facilities. Great restaurant and the staff was awesome. Only thing that could've been better is that the internet in our room did not work well. I had to go to the lobby to get some work done.
- Donna K (10/5): - Nice place much nicer than other Seward hotel we stayed in
- Sarah (10/5): fantastic. would definately stay here again. - outstanding restaurant. very clean and comfortable rooms. quiet.
- Meghan (10/5): Wonderful! - I had a wonderful experience during my stay. The room was as described and extremely clean. The lobby was beautiful with a cozy fireplace for the chilly/cloudy day I arrived. My only regret was that I only needed to stay one night. If I go back to Seward, I will definitely be booking it here again.
- Katherine (6/5): - The accommodations are quite basic. The surrounding area is beautiful but the rooms are in separate buildings tucked away so there are no views from the rooms. Staff was nice and helpful. Restaurant is closed from 11-5 so there are no eating options for lunch unless you drive into town. Coffee shop in the lobby is open until noon with breakfast sandwiches and snack options. Feels like summer camp with separate buildings for the lodge, restaurants, and about eight to ten rooms per building spread throughout the property. We were hoping for more of a resort experience but amenities were limited given the distance from town.
- B (10/5): -
- Nancy (10/5): - Micah ( hope I spelled it right) was so sweet and helpful) I had a situation where I needed to get into a room last night. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. Everybody is amazing there the location is great I can't say enough about this place
- Brent (10/5): Tucked away gem of a hotel. - A lovely hotel in a beautiful and quiet location. Highly recommend!!
- amnon (9/5): -
- Yukte (10/5): -
- Ranga Nitin (10/5): - Great place. Loved the view
- Ounan (10/5): - Room was clean and well maintained. Lobby is nice and cozy.
The only drawback is that the sink is a little bit clogged.
- Parker (10/5): Perfect place in an awe inspiring area. - The lodge is in an amazing location super close to Seward but also on the main road heading to the drivable portion of Kenai Fjords National Park. The property is set up well in separate cabins named after various wildflowers. Staff was friendly and our stay was lovely. The restaurant on site had good food, but be prepared to wait an eternity to get your food. We finally saw our food almost an hour after sitting down.
- Britta (8/5): - Very good
- Jeslyn (10/5): - Clean, big rooms. Extremely friendly/helpful staff. Located just outside of town in a beautiful area. Restaurant/bar has good food. There's a very frequent shuttle into town. One of the most beautiful hotels in Seward.
- mark (10/5): - Loved the property stay was too short
- Sandy (10/5): - Clean and comfortable! The bedding and pillows were great!
- Ken (8/5): Ok - Room was smaller than expected. Everything else was fine.
- Wolfram (7/5): -
- Kenton (10/5): -
- cheryl (10/5): - The breakfast was good and server very nice
The room was clean but a beer csn on the bslcony
- Joseph (10/5): - Room did not have a microwave. Upon request, one was provided within 5 minutes. Nothing
- Rachel (8/5): - This is a great option right outside Seward port. Nice and clean…but an older property. No AC and the bathroom sink was beside the bed (odd layout). However the grounds were gorgeous and the Reaurrection Roadhouse food was amazing!
- Marguerite (6/5): - The room was spacious enough but very dated and a less than ideal configuration with the sink outside of the bathroom and fronting the beds. The screen door for our sliding door came off its tracks every time we opened or closed it and there were tears on the bottom, which let in mosquitos. Overall, not worth the price, but the staff was very efficient at check in and the surrounding grounds are pretty and calming.
- Sofiya (10/5): - Lovely hotel away from town. There is a free shuttle that goes into town from the hotel, but we didn’t use it. We upgraded to a suite, which had lots of space, jet tub, microwave, dining table and pull out sofa. Perfect for a stay with 2 teens who do not like sleep together.
Would stay again
- Patrick (8/5): - Nice facility, a little on the expensive side.
- Simona (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - Nice little cottages
- Gail (10/5): - Windsong Lodge was great. It's close to the main city and Kenai Fjords national park
Rooms are spacious and clean, although they didn't have a microwave. Would definitely stay there again. Staff was very friendly too.
- Jannet (10/5): - Excellent amenities and service.
- Voss (7/5): Lacking Service - The property was clean and location to Kenai Fjords NP was convenient. We stayed 2 nights and housekeeping did not enter our room to check towels, coffee or empty garbage. Flimsy coffee cups, and only 2 pods for 2 mornings! I don't expect clean sheets everyday, but I do expect housekeeping to check on items in the room. Parking was also an issue
- Eldon (10/5): Great stay. If we ever return to Seward this is where we'll go. - Customer service was excellent. Transportation to and from Seward was on time and with personable drivers.
- andrea (10/5): - Rustic clean lodge conveniently located outside of Seward, I would come back!
- Amy (10/5): - Very nice facility - multiple buildings, felt like we were in a cabin in the woods (which we were!). On-site restaurant very good. Close to Seward and activities there. We would stay here again for sure. Two adults and two teenage kids fit easily in the double room (two queen beds).
- Rusty (10/5): - Great restaurant on site.
- Walter (8/5): - Great location, cozy atmosphere in a beautiful forest, the rooms are a little dated though and it was hard to reach a comfortable temperature even though there is a thermostat in the room.
The bathroom sink and mirror in the sleeping area is very impractical (you can't avoid waking up your travel partners).
Their restaurant is surprisingly really good with a new chef and does not deserve the current poor ratings.
- Elif (6/5): - It is a 7-minute drive to the town, which was great. However, they have the worst shampoo and conditioner I have ever used! The shampoo might even be shower gel, to be honest. Terrible quality for the price we pay.
- Randy (10/5): - Quiet area
- Chasity (6/5): The quality of the room did not reflect the price we paid per night. - Proximity to Exit Glacier & the privacy I didn’t like the $19 “amenity fee”. Just charge an extra $19 to the room rate or allow guests to apply the $19 towards other services on property (ie coffee shop, restaurant, & etc) I feel like this was a hidden fee.
- Paul (10/5): - Very friendly staff, helpful transportation to and from town
- jarrett (8/5): - People/staff were wonderful, but the weather was warm, so we needed more circulation in the room for sleeping. We got a fan from the front desk and that was fine. Place is right down the road from the Exit Glacier trailhead
