Susan (10/5): Fantastic 3 nights and would go there again! - The location was fabulous. We also had free access to bikes, kayaks and paddle boards as well as use of a wonderful pool and beach. There were also hike paths and trails for use with the bikes as well as tennis courts. The free breakfast was an added feature which we used but the food compared to the rest of Door County options was mediocre at best. There were plenty of choices and the vanilla yogurt and fresh fruit were good. The staff was very friendly and the array of plants and flowers were gorgeous! The room size and layout were great and we really appreciated the free ice bags! Breakfast food. We did not eat dinner there at all so I don't know how that was. I wish the bikes could go off property but I understand their policy.

You can hear what people in the lobby were saying in conversations from inside our room halfway down the hall with our door closed. Pool was shallow, small, and crowded with loud, unmanaged kids until parents called them in at dinner time.

I was searching for a place to find peace/serenity and relaxation. I certainly did find that here! Thank you. The flowers were absolutely beautiful. I'm a flower gardener and I took extreme pleasure in wandering around the grounds! The staff were all very kind and helpful. Hopefully next time I come, I'll book some of the services and stay one more night. Thank you and keep up with the impeccable service!! As for the bfast...the food was a bit cold-scrambled eggs and pancakes. Otherwise, good selection.

adammM8114CK (8/5): Great views with iffy breakfast - Gordon’s lodge is a great place to go if you’re vacationing in Door County. It’s close to all the cute little cities and is located on a beautiful part of Lake Michigan. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and cozy. I loved the entire experience. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because of the breakfast. When we went all the reviews were raving saying the breakfast was amazing. When we finally came to breakfast our first morning, we were served frozen to serve breakfast. It seemed like the eggs were ordered pre cooked and just heated up. The bacon and sausage were microwave quality. Everyday there was a different baked good which for the most part was okay, but again was not home made. I say all of this to hopefully make a change, so other guests have a better experience. Everything else was amazing, and couldn’t have asked for much more.

We had a slow draining sink. We let housekeeping know and by the time we returned from lunch it was fixed. Very impressed by the quick service. Wished the restaurant was open every night, but we understand it was the off season. It did force us to hunt for other delicious options around Door County.
lindquistj (10/5): Awesome experience - lovely lodge! - If you're looking for a place in Door County that is a little off the main (BUSY) sections, the try Gordon Lodge in Baily's Harbor, right on Lake Michigan and just a stone's throw from Kangaroo Lake . The lodge has everything you need! Kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, hiking, a pool and hot tub!. Free breakfast in the morning and the dining room is open most nights for purchase...and it's yummy! If they happen to be closed, go into Baily's Harbor - just 10 minutes from the resort. There are several options for dining in town. You never really have to leave the area. However, if you want to explore the Door, it's an easy 15 to 20 minute drive to Egg Harbor or Fish Creek, or Ephraim. The resort itself is quite lovely. SO clean and the grounds are decorated beautifully! It has a kitschy retro vibe and it's absolutely charming! You cannot go wrong here! Best views around!!

The grounds are very well kept and the landscaping is well designed. The breakfast buffet was delicious each day and the staff so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the lodge and were in unit 119 right on the point of North Bay and Lake Michigan. Wow!! The views were so picturesque and I loved sitting out there drinking coffee each morning with the sunrise right over the water. We will be back!

Familygoose (10/5): Self contained paradise with a retro feel - We enjoyed a long weekend at Gordon Lodge, which is a family favorite going back five generations. It has always been a special place, secluded with everything you need right on site - especially the beach cruiser bikes, hot tub, and heated pool. The best part of the atmosphere is that the owners have maintained the feel of what it was like in the 50s and 60s with a round fireplace and “conversation pit”, original tile, and period furniture. The swimming pool is just what it was like probably 50 years ago. One other big bonus was the floating sauna “the Kiln“ that was parked at the dock. For an extra fee you can spend 1.25 hours heating up with scented oil and scrub and then jump into the cold lake. In this particular trip, we took my 90-year-old parents who have trouble traveling, but were treated like royalty by the hotel staff and wait staff at the Top Deck. People who really stuck out were Jen at the front desk and Raye, our waitress at the Top Deck. It’s people like that that really make a vacation special, especially for old-timers. We are so grateful and hope to come back many times, since my parents have now sold their place and are looking for “a new home“ to visit in Door County. If you stay at the main lodge, be sure to get a lake view and watch the sun rise every morning! And be sure to look for the old stone fountain in the woods with a stone L-shaped bench beside it. We’ve been unable to figure out the history of this old fountain, but hoping somebody can tell us!
marcg229 (6/5): Needs a little love and care - We've stayed here in the past and I agree with a lot of the reviews that say it has become a little warn around the edges. They are charging 5 star prices for a 3 star experience. First the good: beautiful grounds. Excellent heated pool and hut tub. free bikes and stuff to use. The bad: uncomfortable bedding, poly blend sheets and lumpy pillows. bad 70's music constantly piped into the common areas. Breakfast average at best. We were there with 2 weeks left in the season and the staff seemed really ready to be done. On another note, it is very secluded. If that's your vibe then it's really lovely. But if you like to see a little action in town, it's a 10 minute drive.

icfolk (8/5): Lovely place - We stayed at the end of September. Our room was very clean. The bed was comfy. The grounds of the place are amazing, with lots of fall decor and flowers. The shower was large and had good pressure. The room we stayed in was a studio with a full kitchen. Well, almost full. It had a dorm sized fridge with no freezer. There was a deep freeze in the hall we could put our ice packs in. The little kitchen also had two sitting chairs but no table to eat at. It didn't make sense. Please add a small round table and remove the chairs. The breakfast in the morning was delish. As good as a diner. Loved their potatoes. The lady serving was also very nice. I could hear the maids in the morning talking about their guests out in the hall. That wasn't nice. Overall I loved this place except for the fridge, lack of kitchen table and gossipy maids. I would stay again, just in another room type.

We enjoyed the amenities, such as the use of bikes,kayaks and loved the fact that the outdoor pool was still open for our use as the weather was fantastic! We enjoyed a dinner at the on site restaurant. The fact that breakfasts are included was wonderful so we didn't have to get up early to drive anywhere. The room we stayed in in a bit small and dated but we loved our view of the water from our room and for us it is worth the trade. The bed was comfy and room was clean. Parking right beside the cabin, property was very wooded and contained miles of hiking trails which was perfect for a hike before breakfast. Buffet breakfast was good, much better than normal. Only regret was that our stay was only one night so we did not have time to kayak and do other activities. Would recommend as a different experience than your typical hotel, hope to return and spend more time.
CLIFF (8/5): - The room was clean, but the carpet was stained and worn - time to replace. The Top Deck restaurant was very convenient with great views. The food was OK. Stay away from the butternut squash ravioli the sauce was like water and the vegetables raw. All of the staff and servers were excellent and the grounds impeccably kept.
selvidgemarlaj (2/5): A 1960's Experience in the Twenty-First Century - Hints of the 1920's hunting lodge still survive today at Gordon Lodge. Pricey Rooms at $300 and up face a view of the bay. We hoped for an upscale experience but it was more like a 1960's leftover. The grounds are meticulous but the room was neglected. There is no bar or food service on Mondays and Tuesdays. Reception is tiny and it is the only place where guests can congregate. Furnishings in Room 102 were from the 1950's and needed to be discarded. Everything was worn and mismatched. Carpet was dirty. They gave us new towels every day but no cleaning. Signs of water damage and cracks in the ceiling were present in our room and reception which was right outside our door. Heating and cooling did not work. Breakfast was good. The room was worth only $50.

The lodge has clearly been around for a while, and some of the amenities are dated; for example, the air conditioner in the room was very loud and made it very difficult to sleep., The baseboard heating was on, and there was no way to turn that off, even with the central control. Having said that, however, you only spend time in the room sleeping. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff very friendly. Really appreciated the breakfast as well.
512hyes (10/5): Beautiful property with lots of fun - This was our second trip and had another satisfying experience. The resort is located on private and peaceful area with trails and lots of activities you can do. Our room ( Trailside studio) was clean and had all the basic equipment we needed. All staffs were pleasant and attentive. I always tried to book this resort whenever we visit Door county but they sold out quickly. I’m glad we had another chance and for sure will be back

kellywL2416RL (10/5): Romantic 25th anniversary stay - My husband and I stayed in the Premier Studio cottage for our 25th anniversary and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. The staff was very friendly and our cottage was super clean! I definitely made good use of the wonderful soaking tub while gazing out at magnificent view of Lake Michigan. The grounds were beautifully groomed- flowers everywhere! The beach area was amazing and we paddled around in the provided kayaks. Also recommend trying out Kiln, the floating sauna on the property- very unique experience!

John (6/5): Beautiful setting with dated accommodations - Beautiful setting! Grounds are well kept. Having a floating sauna on property during the summer is amazing. The accommodations could use modernization. The cottage we stayed appears not to have been updated since the 1960s. On the brightside, the views were fantastic.

wayne (10/5): Recent stay - Nice place. Room had a lack of outlets for charging cell phone (only on one side of bed on clock). Inconvenient for other side of bed. Bathroom door was hard to shut. Why to restriction on wiping our room down with wipes? Have never seen this before.

Holly (8/5): If you want to get away from it all indoor County, and like a surrounding, that’s a bit more rustic, - The location is amazing. Beautiful views of the lake all around. Very peaceful and serene. The cabin was for four people and it was very comfortable for that size group. Plenty of room. The deck in the front only had two chairs when it was obviously a cabin for four. We had to carry out the living room chairs in order for us all to be able to sit together. While the living room chairs were attractive, they were not particularly comfortable. In the bedroom with two beds, each bed did not have its own bedside table. One lamp, one table, which made it somewhat difficult. There is a woodburning fireplace in the cabin, which is great but no matches. Once we got a hold of matches, the wood provided would not light.

mlm459 (8/5): Lovely getaway - I brought my daughter up for a quick get away before school started and we had a lovely time. We loved the inclusion of paddleboards and kayaks available and a bonus, the weather and water were perfect! The vibe is 60s charm complete with the feel of many families meet there annually. The breakfast was lovely (although the coffee was bitter), the staff helpful. Upon opening the door to our cabin, it smelled horrible of dank wet dog. It smelled as though it were coming from the AC. We mentioned this to the front desk and as they were booked she brought us a fan. Over a few hours this helped considerably with the windows open. We requested a later check out to swim a bit more and the cleaning supervisor approved us. However, we did see 4 housekeepers on two occasions after this request hovering outside our door. If it were a problem I would have accepted no for a late checkout rather than receive cool stares from the ladies. Aside from that, the bed was comfy and I would certainly enjoy staying there again in the future.

FarAway38756919298 (8/5): Beautiful facility outside - The grounds were amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. We enjoyed walking the convenient trails. Beautiful sunsets and gardens. If we decide to go back to Gordon Lodge, we would definitely stay in one of the cottages. We stayed in room 106 in the lodge. We found the room to be too small, heard people talking through the walls, hallway, and outside because the pool was so close to our room. The bathroom was extremely small. There is no counter space to put your personal toiletries on. On a positive note the entire room was clean. Funky smells when you first walk in the lodge. Like you just stepped into 1960.

David (8/5): - Gordon Lodge is focused on the outdoors. Views of Lake Michigan are stunning. The grounds are spectacular with a pool, hot tub, beach, free use of bicycles, kayaks, and paddle boards. The grounds which span nearly 200 acres have multiple trails for walking and hiking.
Coastal160888 (10/5): The best family place! - Gordon Lodge is the best place for a family vacation. All ages can enjoy the property - the scenic paths, the perfect beach for little ones, the lake for those who love cold water, a nice swimming pool and hot tub, and a daily delicious breakfast. I always feel like I step back in time when I stay at Gordon Lodge.

They provide bikes, kayaks, & paddle boards for guests to use. Breakfast had a great variety, & was delicious. We will definitely stay here again.

Quest45078219282 (8/5): Overall good with a few surprises - We enjoyed our time at Gordon’s Lodge. Overall a positive experience. They included many amenities. The included breakfast was the best part. The food was very very good and staff were so friendly. Eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, pasties and daily a special breakfast item. It was fun to use the bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. The trails through the woods are lovely and well maintained. I will say I was quite surprise that the furnished kitchen was so minimal. I was surprised not to find real silverware or dishes. Paper plates, styrofoam cups, plastic silverware and plastic take out style bowls were provided. There are mixing bowls, pots and pans, wine glasses, and some basic cooking tools. The pans all need the handles tightened as they were loose. Enough so it made using them challenging. The mini fridge did not have a freezer section. While these didn’t feel like deal breakers, I was surprised and would have packed for our in room meals differently had I known. The room and beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for us to spread out. The shower was clean and great water pressure. Unfortunately the air conditioning never actually was able to pull the moisture out of the air and the room was damp. Enough so that paper got slightly “soggy”.

Y9525BHjamesp (10/5): The way Door County Used To Be - Gordon Lodge is a throwback in time. Cute cottages, free activities, breathtaking trails through the grounds, great restaurant, friendly staff. Just arriving to check-in took me back to my youth. Not to mention give. The more remote location you are away from the mega clouds of Sister Bay and Fish Creek. Yet if you want to visit the madness, it is still close. There is Epic biking in the area and the Boreal Forest hiking trails are gorgeous.

DeLeana (10/5): Beautiful Location - This was our first time at Gordon Lodge and we will definitely be back. It is the perfect location for a quiet relaxing getaway. The restaurant on the grounds is delicious with good options. Staff was always friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is a very weak internet signal. The strength is the same in the rooms or in the lodge. I was trying to conduct some work meetings but it did not go smoothly. However, it is the perfect spot for water activities and relaxing. I just would not plan on engaging in any work that would require video.
