The front desk is always super accommodating, most notably Nichole, for example she’ll give you a heads up that there will be a wedding reception on the night of your stay or the restaurant will be booked. Overall our favourite place on the upper Sunshine Coast.

The bed was comfortable. The sheets feel a bit like plastic. And the pool was closed, or no longer available since my last stay here. The price is a bit high, for the amenities provided.

The view from our second floor room was the star. Skip the restaurant. Other than the view it lacks atmosphere. Wait staff were friendly. Kitchen was unwilling to accommodate a food allergy. Food was ok. Be sure to visit the Salish Distillery on the adjacent property. Their products were great. The tastings were fun with a great charcuterie option.

I had assumed there was an attached restaurant but I believe it is a separate venue. (Sea Side) Also it is closed on Monday and Tuesday!! I must have missed this on their website.
• Pang (7/5): - Wonderful sea view. Sufficient supplies in the bathroom. The air-conditioner is too noisy. The pillows are too bulky. We went out for breakfast in the morning. When we came back at 10:45am (we hadn't checked out yet), we were surprised to find that the door of 404 was opened and the janitor was cleaning the room with our luggages still there. The janitor even stopped us from using the bathroom.

No signs anywhere about an event. We were turn away as it was busy so we asked to sit outside since it was empty just to enjoy the view but they decline too. We said we wouldn’t need a menu or drinks or need any service. Just sitting outside the patio - still declined.
• Corine (10/5): - This is our 3rd or 4th time staying here. We have stayed at other hotels in the area but this one has a beautiful balcony ocean view. Its quiet, clean, a/c, laundry, restaurant, and beer store. The front desk staff is always great. The other staff is as well except for this time. A younger girl had attidude everytime we asked for something such as towels and garbage bags. We stayed for a week and did not want or expect our room done up during our stay. Maybe our room was not hers. Im not sure. She was always one we could see availabe when we were. We did not let her ruin our trip tho. We reccommend staying here!

Was very upset that restaurant was closed as it is a 5 km walk to town to eat.The reason we booked so far out of town was that we could eat there. Having to uber to town to eat was a pain. We wanted to have a drink with dinner and not drive.

Rooms are clean but walls are thin and most rooms have a door between so we could hear our neighbors like they were in our room. Also this visit we had upstairs neighbors who were fighting and just noisy. We could hear every word rhey were syaing. Its nice to have a waterfront view tho. Beds are comfy so All in all i give it a 4. I hope they start their new build soon cause it would also be nice to have a pool.

• Scot (2/5): - Stayed 14 days (over $4G) and was very disappointed with our experience. Customer service was poor. Far from a 'resort'. It is rundown, no working pool, all faucets leaked, did not receive advertised on-site continental breakfast. When pressed, they grudgingly provided breakfast coupons to their sister hotel (10 mins drive) and the breakfast was disappointing. No choice in items, insisted that guest get random items as they were not allowed to specify what type of fruit, flavor of yogurt or whether you get a pastry/muffin, even though there was obviously available items to choose from. Housekeeping was minimal at best. And a couple of times, they didn't even make the bed as they claimed a personal item was left on it (one time a scrunchie was found in the bed so they stopped making the bed, but had obviously moved the scrunchie to the top of the bed. So they can touch it, but decided to leave it on the bed and not finish making the bed/changing the sheets instead of moving it to the bed table! Another time, there was a small personal throw at the foot of the bed, so they didn't touch the bed.) When I asked for extra towels, they wrote a note that they ran out, but later, I was able to get extra towels at the front desk. When we called the GM to voice our concerns, we got excuses and a basically "don't care, your problem" attitude. No solutions, nothing to compensate for the lack of pool & inconvenience of driving to a lackluster breakfast. Will not be staying here again.

• Siamak (6/5): - The property itself was in a nice quite location tucked away by the ocean front and close driving distance to the city center. Decent and clean room with good view of the ocean. It's an older hotel and the walls/floors are not very insulated so we could hear our loud neighbors next door and could hear people walking and kids running in the room above.

Laundry facilities were exactly $2 for washer and $2 for dryer. The Italian cofee makers were a great touch and it was help yourself to as many pods as you needed. The internet was abit sketchy at times but we were on holidays. We will stay there for sure if we get back to Powell River.

• GrandTour769669 (2/5): Disorganized, poor customer service - Marina and reservations team at this resort don't talk to each other. We reserved at the marina few weeks in advance and reserved with a credit card. We were given a slip assignment suitable for a sailing vessel. The day of arrival I emailed to notify that were were on our way and looking forward to our stay. Our slip assignment was changed to a shallow berth with difficult entry for a sailing vessel, I considered it dangerous. The next day we were informed we would have to be moved to another dock (our original reservation) however we were informed of this as the tide was coming out put us at further risk. The marina staff were clearly overwhelmed and did not have clear communications with reservations. The marina entry cards we were given did not work , the laundry facility was listed and not really working well either We enjoyed a meal at the restaurant on the property, and got some great tourism tips from the hotel reception staff. She was excellent but I did not catch her name. We were excited to spend the day looking around the area. However, when told we would have to move from one slip to the other, instead of taking the risk of re docking we decided it would be best just to leave the marina and never book with this place again

It faced the sea so we appreciated the dark curtains that allowed us to sleep in. It was then so lovely to open them and have the morning light! We also had a clean balcony with nice chairs and we enjoyed watching the sun set to the right of our view. It was also fun to watch the action at the marina. The beds were good. We couldn't get a King size so we had 2 queens. The small fridge held most of our things but we couldn't fit a freezer block in the small freezer section. The freezer section was also full of frost limiting it as well. We had to turn the fridge down because our food started to freeze. I wish the room smelled "fresher". I'm not sure how you would fix that - but, it just smelled "old". Maybe it's having the carpet. Newer hotels are using LVT now...

• Neufeld (7/5): Clean and tidy. Comfy beds. Nice views. - No breakfast offered onsite. Had to drive across town to the sister hotel. Inconvenient, so we didn’t go. It would have been nice to have continental breakfast on site.
• JOHN (8/5): - Great location away from the town Center. Great views from your room and restaurant. The room was comfortable and clean but the buildings themselves were in need of an upgrade. Excellent outdoor dining.

• Jules (8/5): - Beautiful views! Lovely rooms - very friendly staff. Rooms were noisy though, with adjoining doors in every room so sound transfer was high. Also - restaurant wasn’t open Monday Tuesday and breakfast is off site every day. Just a point to note. Property is weird with lots of open space and not too many signs to get you down there but I understand there will be a new development there with great amenities too. I will be back!
• Canan (8/5): View!! - It is a nice place with a spectacular view. Only issue was access to the beach area a little harder. First I couldn’t find how to get down unless I get the elevator might need signs around.

• Anonymous (5/5): I’d been there before once and knew what I was getting into. Not sure how or what they advertised f, - It’s really old, none of the facilities are open anymore. The room and amenities are late 1980’s. No beach access. Pool and restaurant are closed. They are basically open till they can tear it down and throw up a new facility on the same property. It’s close to town and is clean.
• Glenn (4/5): - One of the main reasons we stayed there was for the restaurant which was closed when we got there. Had to drive for dinner. Patio doors needs replacing, poor ocean view. We did not receive good value for the price we paid
• Janice (9/5): A lovely spot. - The room was very, clean and comfortable. Only the fact that I couldn’t stay longer.
• Graham (10/5): - The only negative was the evening meal. The batter in my fish was uncooked adjacent to the fish and the fish itself was cool inside. My wife had the salmon special which was raw inside and had to go back to the kitchen to be cooked.
• Del (7/5): A Perfectly Adequate One Night Stay - The room was ready upon check-in and very clean. The beds were comfortable. There was a pleasant view from the balcony although it looked across a parking lot before it kicks in. The hotel itself is an impressive structure but it is quite dated and as with everything that gets tired over time it starts to show. The entry road is split by an upper parking lot shared by a distillery that appeared closed for business. So if you come in on that side it's a bit of a ways down before you'll see the hotel. We didn't see a sign that indicated which side of the split road to come down so it was a bit confusing the first day. Also the $5 voucher for breakfast is redeemed in a different hotel somewhere down the road towards town so you have to drive there to utilize it.

• Karen (7/5): Beach Gardens Resort - The view from the room was great. The couch was comfortable and it was nice to have. In our room. We were given 2 vouchers for breakfast at their sister hotel since their restaurant wasn't open for breakfast. We had dinner though in the restaurant which was on the ocean and had great views. We could easily hear the people above us making noise. The noise transfers through so we can hear it. The mattress wasn't that comfortable. The food at the restaurant was a problem. No dressing on our salad and the salmon wasn't cooked. We did get a free dessert.
