At 6 am I requested breakfast at 8:30 AM instead of 9 AM, so we could make a 9 am orientation at Slippery Rock University. Despite giving 3 hours notice and only asking that it be moved up 30 minutes, they said NO. Instead, we were welcomed to instant oatmeal packets. This inflexibility and disregard for our guest experience left a bad taste. Obviously they don't much care. Definitely not worth the price. I didn't see a singĺe person who worked there during our stay - we did self check in at 4:45 pm friday eve and no one was around at 8:35 am Saturday morning when we left. 6 hours later I had to email AND text to get a receipt sent to me.

- Heidi (10/5): - We stayed for one night and we were just traveling in the area. The property is very nice and a great change from the chain hotels. There is a great deal of character in the furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. We found places to eat nearby.The staff recommended a dinner place that was good and we never would have found it on our own. One thing I found a little strange was that this place is rented without any staff on site. They were responsive by text, but I would have preferred to interact with a real human. Another guest arrived when we were there and rang the doorbell repeatedly. I felt that I had to answer and talk to them, although they did realize fairly quickly that they had to call the owners.

- Donald (10/5): Quiet and quaint Inn - Apple butter Inn is a work on progress but Wow are they out to a great start! We knew ahead of time that the property was just bought and they where redoing the whole place so we knew the breakfast was off property. This Inn is the real deal! 1844! It was so authentic and quaint and quiet. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, this is the place! There is no Tv in the room, no radio. They had 8 of the 12 rooms done when we where there, but the rooms downstairs where to die for! There was a small refrigerator with free water and free beer in it! How great is that? There was also free coffee in the morning.

Although I had checked out the owner permitted me to complete my work outside on the patio (I was invited inside ). It is very quiet and the beds are comfortable and the rooms are large. They have coffee available and tea in the morning. A lovely place to stay.

We were very disappointed in the fact that they don't offer breakfast anymore and you have to go to town for your meal. The cleanliness was also a noticeable decline since we last stayed there. - Sharon (8/5): - This is a beautiful, quaint, quiet, relaxing place to stay. Highlights were the lovely gas fireplace in the room and the outdoor hot tub. Suggestions would be to update the mattresses on the beautiful beds...our mattress was very stiff and uncomfortable, if we hadn’t been able to get up in the morning and get right back in the hot tub, we might have been much more disappointed about that part. Also, you do receive a card for a complimentary breakfast at a breakfast place in town, but breakfast served there at the inn would’ve been nice as they do have the capability/facilities to do so, but the positive tradeoff was a pretty private and interaction-free experience, which we personally very much appreciated!

- James (6/5): Summertime in Slippery Rock - If you like total independence in a B&B, this is it. Only time we saw anyone was at check in. He gave us info when we got there. Air conditioner didn't work, thankfully the fan did, plus it turned out to be a cool week.

Television outdated but worked! First morning had coffee second morning none. Free breakfast at local restaurant was delicious. Restaurant next door was good and accomodating last minute. A fun experience.
