- Crystal (6/5): Pleasant - The room was clean and had everything I needed. Concierge was super helpful and friendly. The bed was too high and being on wheels, rolled away when I tried to go to bed.
- Andre (8/5): Satisfactory stay for the price. - The room was large. Air conditioning worked very well. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Extensive cable TV! Well-lit parking lot out front. Minutes from downtown. Short walk from a busy pub and Tim Hortons across the street!
Comfortable bed. Bathroom looks recently renovated. The lady at the front desk was courteous! A bit noisy comings and goings through the walls but not anything major.
- Donald (7/5): Good -
- Kelvinmaurice (5/5): Passable -
- H735QBsamanthas (2/5): STAY AWAY!!! - This motel should be shut down. I would have rated 0 if I could. The pictures speak for themselves. I wouldn’t even pay $5 to sleep here. Stay far far away. There was a piece of crack pipe glass on the floor and blood and stains everywhere. We ended up leaving and not staying at all.
- Lana (4/5): Poor but comfortable beds, no coffee machine - Location Very run down, needs lots of repairs and upgrades

- Bernard (6/5): Pleasant -
- holliem484 (2/5): Creepy - The assistant was creepy always watching me as I go out for a smoke and the morning we where to leave he came to the door immediately after I had a smoke my husband answered and he was startled idk I think it’s not a safe spot for women
- mcka0050 (8/5): Sleep Soundly - We stayed one night at Canadiana Motel. We arrived after 10 pm. The hotel staff were kind and the room was clean. Everything worked except for the T. V. I think we could have asked for help but it was late so we just went to sleep. Our room was next to an alley way and there was no noise outside all night.
The hotel looks sort of run down but I think the couple who manage it, are renovating the Motel as I could see them working on the building as we left the next morning.
So, all in all, if you need a place that is safe and relatively clean, this hotel is a fine place to lay your head.

- Anonymous (4/5): Good location, front desk person was ok, place was being renovated and weird noises in the night - The front desk person was good. Close to amenities. Has air con and heating. They are doing construction or something. Noises of people moving on the top level in the middle of the night around 3and 4 in the morning. I wasn’t sure if they were staff or a customer but they were rude. I’m gonna guess they were staff.
- Kimberley (7/5): Good - Clean and comfortable 😌
- miketrudeau (10/5): Very clean - This motel was very busy and extremely clean. The management is very caring and customer service oriented. She works very hard and is always busy taking care of the guests. Great location near restaurants and stores.
- davidmQ8506CL (10/5): Excellent bargain motel - Booked through an online site based on price... had a general idea of what might be waiting but as long as the place is safe, clean and relatively quiet, it's fine. A 1960's era motel with a hallway glassed-in and looking on the parking lot and the rooms along this hallway.
Check-in was fast and after questioning if the area was safe (and assured it was), it was super convenient to unload luggage and into the room. I was traveling solo and am on oxygen therapy, so no stairs were a real bonus.
Opening the room, a surprise. Higher quality furniture, very good mattress, new fridge and microwave, large screen TV and great WiFi. After noticing the name of a Toronto hotel chain on the phone, it occurred to me the owner went to some motel auction and bought the furniture from a 4-star hotel. Clean room, fresh paint... unobtrusive A/C. New bathroom and fixtures.
The location is on Regent St, a bit of an industrial area and the neighbourhood didn't look that great but after dark, it was all but silent outside - little to no traffic - and the anticipated 2am rush never materialized.
Kudos to the owners for turning this property around. It still has a way to go (the common hallway is a bit beat) but the biggest challenge is overcoming past bad raps. If you're looking for safe, comfortable, clean and quiet accommodations, the Canadiana should be definitely considered.
I got the 4-star furnishings for a bargain price.
- X146UItammym (4/5): It's ok - Listed as a two star. Got a 3/5 here. But it's a 2. Clean, smells old, bathroom better than the room. Dark halls (felt unsafe).
But it's ok. No bugs. Water stayed hot. A/c was loud and anemic.
Not much left anywhere else when we booked.
- JosieYVO (2/5): Sleep Not Possible Here!! - I had to give it a 1 star to review it but it deserves 0 stars!!My husband was in Sudbury for only a couple hours for car repairs and he needed his rest as he was driving several hours on the same day. I called a few hotels just to get a day room for 2 hrs and was declined as they do not do that in Sudbury. So I decided to contact a so called 4star (google)rated 2 star motel that did! What a mistake ! My husband called me from his room and it sounded like he was in a restaurant! It was not only loud but he told me it was filthy and the whole room shook from the nearby highway! It was impossible for rest!
- brendamZ8317ZK (10/5): Excellent Value Budget Motel - The room was sparkling clean and quiet...the memory foam mattress heavenly....the owners very pleasant. Great value! If you need a place to lay your head that is clean and quiet, I highly recommend this place.☺
- ThePuslinchguy1 (4/5): Pays to check your room first - All motels were booked from Manitoulin Island right through to Barrie so we felt lucky to find this place with signs saying, "New Rooms" It is located across from the only restaurant for miles, Timmies, where there was an informal Biker gathering. Our "New Room" was as bare bones as they come. The "New Carpeting" was dirty and had burn marks all over it. The room smelled dirty and as luxurious as a rowboat! We were charged full price $75.00 plus an extra fee of $10.00 for our six pound hypoallergenic dog who was crated during our stay. Definitely a place to sleep when you can't drive further but not one to enjoy
- X8600CXjamesm (8/5): Good motel in easy to find location. - We were coming by at 1AM and saw a number of motels on the way into Sudbury - in neither of them anyone answered the door bell, while the buildings looked sketch. This was the first motel to actually respond and we were given the largest room. Everything with it was in order, the bed sheets were clean, there was evidence of recent renovations and wrap-up of ongoing improvements. When you want to have a place to sleep at - it does the job. I wouldn't expect a motel in an industry-heavy zone to outclass Dubai.
- missmutt (6/5): Meh, it's OK, clean but nothing special - We negotiated a cheaper price but really should have checked out the room. Paid 75 taxes in but really more of a 65 dollar joint. Clean, not really updated, nothing too scarey but there was a big brown smear of something on one of the pillows that were mainly responsible for the negativity. That and walking through cigarette buts as we left. I agree there are nicer places for the money but it IS clean (except for one pillow) wouldn't stay again but on a budget might do for most.
- jasonleblanc78 (6/5): Working in Sudbury - This is not a vacationers hotel but for a steady traveler it has everything you need. The new renovations are basically bathroom fixtures and furnishings. This place has everything you need in a basic hotel and is clean aside from the floor that should be next in the renovation process, but that's my opinion. negotiate a cheaper price they will want your business.
- luip2013 (10/5): Nice and clean!! - we needed a place to stay in Sudbury & did not know the city at all. We had a couple of places we wanted to see & Canadiana Motel was in the right area. Very reasonable price, excellent service. Even though the road by the Motel was busy, the room was very quiet & comfortable, I would recommend it. And most convenient is the TIM HORTON'S right across the street. Every canadian can enjoy coffee if you stay here.
- SusanK177 (2/5): STAY AWAY!!!! - Our group came here for a stay because everywhere else was sold out in Sudbury. This was an awful decision. The first thing we saw on the sign was "newly renovated". This could have been true if the year was 1976. This hotel is a dump. Our room smelled like smoke, and there were kids in the room. The unbearable stench couldn't be masked, so we could not sleep. The beds are very uncomfortable and the sinks and the bathroom is scary. This is absolutely the worst place anyone could have been to. Also on the sign, it claims free wifi, but the wifi doesn't get to the rooms!!
- I8277WFdavidl (8/5): Bang for Buck - Overall I had a wonderful experience at the Canadiana Motel. The staff was very friendly and most helpful with my inquires. The room was clean and well kept and all the appliances functional. I will be staying here again when I return. A bright spot in town. Canadiana, you're welcome!!
- 968stevel (2/5): sleeping bad - i dont get it , anyone that says this place is great must live in a dump , the place claims to be newly renovated , the only thing i saw that looked new was ceiling lights , everything else was old , the tv the old dirty smelly couch the hard bed , the holiday inn plastic glasses , you name it it was old and smelly , to say newly renovated is clearly false advertising , the rooms are depressing and run badly ,for $80 a night trust me you have much better choices ( like your car ) it was most likely a nice place in the 60s but who ever runs that place now clearly does not have the funds to do a good job , or is to greedy to actualy fix the place so it can become a real motel , knowing what i know now i wouldnt pay $40 for this place , its amazing in this world of internet people can still get away with ripping people off like this . words of advice , if you find yourself stuck and you have to stay there ....buy a tent , its cheaper !!!
- Erin818 (10/5): Great, affordable hotel in Sudbury! - Great experience here. My room was very clean, quiet and had everything I need (fridge, wi-fi, and desk). Staff were very helpful to me and motel is in a convenient location near restaurants. From what I could tell when looking up places to stay, it has one of the lowest rates for motels/hotels in Sudbury and if I go to Sudbury again I will be going back to the Canadiana Motel.
- E3848ICdavidm (10/5): Newly Renovated and cozy rooms!! - The place is best you can define in the town, The staff is very friendly. The have free Wi-Fi which is pretty good and right across the motel there is Tim Horton's which every Canadian would love to have coffee there. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious!!
- maryjaneb818 (2/5): Worst Motel Experience Ever - The price was about $80 for the dirty room. The rooms were clearly designed in the 60s and the tv looked like it was as well. There was old crusty food on the floor, the beds were hard and did not at smell remotely fresh. There was only 1 small soap and 1 small shampoo that were clearly stolen from other hotels. The towels smelt moldy. There was no coffee provided just small cups clearly labelled Holiday Inn. There was no listings anywhere that no guests were allowed until we checked in to the motel. This is insane for any motel especially one that looks like a place that hookers would frequent. The place advertised free wifi, however it had a password that was not posted anywhere. When we got there we were literally the only car in the whole parking lot. It looked like we were the only customers that night (which should have tipped us off) I had to track down the clerk, which wasn't easy then when we did find her we had to wait for her to finish her phone call (my boyfriend and I stood there for literally 15 mins, we were checking our phones for the time since we had plans to meet with friends that we previously didn't know couldn't come to our motel and wanted to use the wifi that night when we got back). We got there late and already had plans with friends so we just decided to spend the night and never go back. In the morning when checking out we advised to clerk of the old crusty food on the floor and she actually said " oh well you should've come and got me earlier" yes because we should have done something about our unclean room at 1:00 am, after we paid for a clean one. When we advised her that the room was unclean and asked for a discount on the price, she proceeded to argue with us saying no and that the room was clean and we should have gotten her earlier. She actually raised her voice and tried to tell us that regardless of the food and dirt left in our room it was clean and should have to pay full price. After some arguing back and forth she finally offered 10% off our next stay, like we would ever go back to a dirty motel with horrible service. When I told her that was not acceptable and that we had not received what we paid for right then and wanted this resolved now she went on to say oh well the other rooms are clean and that she was unable to do that for us. Finally after us not leaving and asking for a discount she provided about $7.50 back onto our card. She was dismissive, rude about it, yelled, tried to justify the dirty room and her actions. The service was the worst ever experienced and the room was dirty. Do not stay here.
- Adam_sarnia (8/5): Good location and very clean - I stayed at this motel for a week when I was in Sudbury for my project. It is nice motel and located on main road with everything nearby. Front desk was very helpful. Property is recently renovated and well maintained with TV, microwave and freeze in the room. Good value for money.
