Guest Reviews
- Lisa (2/5): - Horrible. We were charged extra at the hotel. Charged 77 dollars for our dog even though there was a sign on the counter that stated the fee was 60 dollars. Parking for the hotel was a block and a half away in an unsecured parking lot. None of this is listed on the web site. Our "ocean view" (which we payed extra for), was a view of a deck over the ice cream shop behind the building. This is honestly the worst place I have ever stayed. The "beach access " gate was padlocked.
- Magda (6/5): - It was very old place
Curtains were torn
It was definitely not worth $300
- Sherrie (6/5): Questionable accommodations - The check in process was great with the friendliest people!! Our deadbolt didn’t work and we immediately received a room change. The room was very small but adequate. The cement corridor and stairs dipped unexpectedly and I had to use extra caution not to take a tumble. There were only stairs available. There was a small patio where you could overlook the boardwalk and beach. We parked in the small lot attached which was very convenient. While a pet friendly hotel, there was nowhere to take your pet. The grass attached to the hotel belonged to an ice cream shop and was marked not to use. This presented an issue. When we checked out, the man working was extremely rude and refused to give me a receipt stating I had booked through hotels.com. I doubt we would stay again.
- Brandy (6/5): - You get what you pay for on the boardwalk..
- Brandee (4/5): - The beds were creaky, the room smelled like mildew, the walls were dirty, curtains, sheets and bathroom were all dirty. Hardly any electrical outlets. The shelf was hanging off the wall. The fridge and microwave were sitting on the ground. There was no hand soap. The parking is almost 2 blocks away from the hotel.
- nathan (6/5): - Wasnt greatest but it was bare min
- Tabitha (6/5): - This property was run down and the bathroom had mold in the shower and was disgusting. The noise outside my room was so loud I couldn't sleep. I'm not sure if weed is legal in VA and I could care less who smokes but I do not and it was clearly being done outside my door. I couldn't even sit outside my room and enjoy the view because of the kids running and screaming, as the balcony area is connected. The parking was 2 blocks away and I was charged extra for parking and also a resort fee! A resort fee? Really. It was a run down old motel with no rules. The owner was nice and thats the only reason I gave 3 stars for staff. I stayed an extra hour at the beach, i checked out on time but left my car in the parking an extra hour and was charged an extra $25. I do not recommend this property if you are expecting a clean and peaceful vacation.
- JULISSA (2/5): - Smell bad, not friendly
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never Again - Nothing at all like the photos or descriptions
- Armando (10/5): - We booked here last minute due to some mix up in reservations but for a last minute spot it was great. It is right on the board walk, making it easy access. Owners were great and attentive to any and all needs! I will say the bathroom could be a bit cleaner but overall we would book here again !!
- Richard (4/5): Don’t. - This hotel looks and feels as if you’ve stepped into the third world. The beach at its back is its ONLY saving grace. It also feels as though the owners and managers give so little care for this hotel’s existence that it has been left to languish. My family looked at me like I was crazy for reserving this place when we arrived. It is embarrassing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don’t do it! - The hotel was awful!
The bed was all springs any way you moved there was a spring jabbing you!
No covers on the bed just sheets so I froze and had to use my beach towels as a blanket.
Smelled like stale cigarettes
No elevator and the stairs are so narrow you have to carry your bags directly in front of you
The beach access gate was locked up so you couldn’t even access the beach you had to walk all the way around the hotel.
And be aware once you get there they charge for parking and some other fee I couldn’t understand what she was saying for what!
- James (10/5): - Bed was very comfortable. Older motel but the rooms have been renovated. The fridge worked good. I’ve been to motes where the freezer just would not freeze, not here 😀
Staff was gracious and accommodating. We will stay there again 😀
- Brandy (4/5): - You have to pay for parking which they don’t tell you. It is super loud as you are right by the main road AND there is a public beach access right next to the hotel so there are people by the hotel at all hours. The walkways and stairs are super narrow and there is part of a vent system overhead of one set of stairs. The door to the bathroom opens into the sink. Pay the extra $40 and stay somewhere else.
- John Paul (2/5): - Stay away from this place! This isna warning
- Ashley (4/5): - Accessing the property was frustrating as multiple cars blocked and parked the entrance, making us lap the block multiple times to even arrive. Was not aware of $60/per pet fee, additional parking fee for cars and parking was 3+ blocks away. Extremely noisy, the smell was toxic and everything dirty
- Dandrin (2/5): - No clean the property and no pool.
- Jeanette (2/5): - This place was disgusting. The room smelled like someone had smoked alot in the room and hadnt been opened up for weeks. The mattresses still had plastic on them so every time i moved, I heard the plastic. Most of the outlets didnt work. The exterior was a mess. The A/C unit didnt have alot of airflow because the filters hadnt been changed. My brother cleaned them so we'd have cool air(they were caked with dust). I'll never go there again.
- Tonyia (2/5): - Horrible motel, very dirty! I had knee surgery that left me disabled and there is no elevator and I was put on third floor. Had to leave because it does not accommodate the disabled
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great vacay spot staff was super helpful and checked in + offered extra service such as extra time after check out for parking great place
- Jesse (8/5): About the room and our stay - It was a very clean room. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the greatest. The AC filters were dirty, had to clean them outselves to get the room cold. Other then that, it was a fine room. The staff was very friendly.
- Chad (4/5): - Dirty towel inside door of check in office I tripped on 17 dollar fee for parking which is a block away
- Walter (2/5): - Many things in the room does not work
- Mia (10/5): - When I checked in the staff were very friendly the outside doesnt seem like much but the rooms are very clean and seems to have been updated recently I would definitely stay here again
- Gabriel (4/5): - Hairs in the sink there was a hole in back of the bathroom door
- Derek (8/5): - Hotel was nice,
- Scott (8/5): - Location
- Mary (4/5): - Old dirty
- Brent (10/5): - Yes it's old yes it's dated but the rooms are clean you're walking distance of restaurants.
On the beach
The only drawback parking.
- Juan (6/5): - Our stay was nice. Enjoyed the location. It was convenient for what we needed. Front desk was friendly.
- Medea (4/5): - Charged extra after check in for “fees”
- Simuel (8/5): - Beds should be replaced but the proximity to things of interest is great. Owner very friendly also
- Mia (6/5): - Definitely not worth what I paid for 1 night needs major upgrade check in was fast staff were friendly
- CHARLES (10/5): Fine establishment at great price. - Lets start with the bad, No Parking on site...it is a couple blocks away. Everything else was very good...friendly staff, their service, the room and accommodations, the cleanliness all as good or better than any i have stayed in at Va Beach.
- chris (10/5): - .
- Brenda (4/5): Cheap but you know why after you stay - Very old hotel accommodations. Needs repairs and remodeling. Lots of noises outside to late hours of night and man knocked on my door at 2am over and over. Not a very good feeling of safety. Foreign owners not very friendly at desk and didn’t ask how was the stay when returning my keys. Figure they don’t get a lot of repeat visitors once you experience this hotel. I guess if you want ocean front but nothing else for low price this is your place. Not returning, will spend more to feel safe and clean.
- Vanessa (6/5): - Room was nice. Guys at the front desk are rude
- Heather (6/5): - It was an ok place. Nothing spectacular. It was over priced considering off season. Overall not terrible.
- Trinity (6/5): It's just ok of a place - For last minute the room worked. Ownership is trying. To be in such a great opportune location more can be done. Lobby personnel can be a bit nicer, understanding. And yet people who reserve here need to know 1) Not everything you see online is what you get 2) and you definitely get what you pay for. People these days should know if you pay Motel 6 prices your stay will not be like staying at the Marriott. I have faith Ocean 24 will work on getting their game together.
- Heather (4/5): - This property has a great location but the room was not clean. There was sand and hair in the supposedly clean sheets and we did not use the shower at all. The room looked like the pictures, but the surroundings were dingy and very dark. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. There was also no one is the office when we were trying to turn in the keys and check out.
- Edward (4/5): - Expedia ad says they have limited parking on site, but there is zero parking on site. You can unload on site but have to park one block away and pay $10 per night. We also were not aware of the $60/night pet fee for a 5 pound Morky. It seemed excessive and these added fees made the price become, meh. We could have stayed at a much better place for the all in price.
Some of the wall sockets didn't work. The socket on the lamp doesn't work when the light is switched off. Our phones didn't charge because we didn't realize that would happen. I also have to search around for a working socket for my CPAP.
- Maria (4/5): - The room is very small and the place is old.
- Omkar (2/5): - One of the bad hotel I have ever seen
- Bethann (10/5): - It was a nice view close to the water i didnt like parking a block away tho
- Christopher (10/5): - Great location
- Kassanrda (2/5): - Out the blue we planned a small trip to Virginia Beach. We selected a pet friendly hotel only. We paid for 2 days stay from Friday thru Sunday. We reserved via Expedia because it was lower on price compare to the hotel. We arrived on Saturday around 2:30 am in the morning. After checking in. We checked the room. It was very dirty. Bathroom was bad. And bathroom door looks ver dirty as well. The place smelled cigarette . I informed the lady at the front desk for her to checked out and see if they could clean. She just told me that I need to inform the manager later on. We. We actually end up cleaning a lot but they still need to come and clean the bathroom ( we purchase bleach )and under the beds was trash, dust. Very clear the did not clean the room (got the pics). Later on we ask the manager to come in our room and checked. When he arrived to the room . Started accusing us of trying to trying to sneak my dog and lying and that we need to pay for dog fee. I told him that we paid thu Expedia. He said that there is a policy of $60 per night. After argument about the dog and how bad the room was. I agreed to pay for dog fee and they half way clean the room. I asked him when I need to pay and he said to pay before leaving. Later on the same day, the Manager saw my friend and came to her and harassed about the money and a cussed us on lying and trying to hide the dog. He also told myanother friend that was waiting in the parking lot by theLobby for his tto leave the premises
- Juli (8/5): - Everything was great
- Jason (10/5): 23rd st - Very happy, staff was very polite and helpful.
- Ricardo (6/5): - Not
- larry (2/5): Worst hotel experience ever. Fake positive ratings - Absolute worst hotel experience ever. Dirty and strong smell. They have to use a lot of air freshener to cover the dank underlying smell. Not as advertised. They clearly use fake ratings to boost the score. Take confidence in the poor ratings given. We had to leave after checking in. The manager was rude. They refused to give refund to Expedia after admitting admitting they re renting our room to someone else. You should realize you are complicit in this scam when you allow them to stay on your site. The manager lied to Expedia saying we gave no reason for leaving.
- Amin (8/5): - Street site veery loud.
- Jose (10/5): - Great
- Joseph (8/5): - Staff was very helpful and pleasant to me.
- Yennifer (2/5): - Not good environment
- ALEXA (2/5): - Payed 5 star prices description it’s not what my family and I expected.
- Kevin (10/5): - The owner was a gem!
- Sigmund (10/5): Simply the best! - This is the absolute best location on the beach with immediate access to the boardwalk and the beach! The team provided the best service I’ve seen in years! This location is a must!
- Taleah (2/5): Bad stay - The manager was very rude to us didn’t know how to speak to customers The tv didn’t work Employee told us to work in the lot then got or car towed and the manager said it’s not his fault so at this point don’t go there
- David (2/5): Virginia beach is gross - I will Never stay here again! I didnt read the reviews. This place is trash. I thought I was getting bit by bed bugs all night. It was disgusting. They charged us extra for parking, resort fee and kids. The room slept 6 and they wanted extra money for kids. Also had to park 2 blocks away. I was worried about my car. Virginia beach is NOT for lovers anymore. Its for pot heads.
- Katrina (4/5): - Parking is a joke and the outside is gross
- Tyler (4/5): - Decent but the parking sucked and the room was lackluster
- Dareanna (6/5): - The property owner refused to let my family check in for 3 hours after check in time
- Tamara (2/5): - I NEVER CHECKED IN
- Timothy (8/5): - IT WAS ON THE BEACH AND HAD EASY ACCESS TO THE BEACH, THE PARKING YOU HAD TO PARK TWO BLOCKS OVER.
- Anthony A (6/5): - It was not clean enough all they need todo is take alittle more time cleaning everything else was fine
- Kara (2/5): - I never stayed here
- Dj (2/5): - Tried to charge my card a extra 50
- Tanyra (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful . The room was clean but a little dark. I did not look if did not have an elevator . The stairs were a little much to bring things up and down. The location is on the beach and for hotel was a good choice for the money just would of liked an elevator
- David (2/5): Freezings the reason - Heater temp was locked so couldn’t adjust it and froze. Half the outlets didn’t work.
- Cenia (10/5): Wonderful and cozy place to stay - My stay at your hotel was delightful. The owner went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay. He even called me after checkout to inform me I left my prescription glasses.
- jose (6/5): - Noisy and not enough towels
- Judy (6/5): On the ocean but - It was right on the ocean but not the most comfortable conditions
- Julia (8/5): - Manager was excellent. Location needs a bit of update. Comfortable overall.
- Haley (6/5): - The room itself was great but when we checked in I notified them we had paid online he then told me yes but I still have to pay a 14$ fee which was fine until then he told me in order to check in I had to pay 35$ this made no sense to me! I was very frustrated and angry but of course I paid the fee everywhere else had no rooms available. Then we had to continuously file noise complaints on business around us there was one restaurant that had a speaker outside playing music and we could hear the music and the base of the music over the tv! And this went on until 2am. Otherwise the room itself was great my only complaint was the shower bottom was black so we wore our crocs when we got in.
- Brenda (8/5): - At first, I was skeptical, but once inside the rooms were clean, I’d like the way you could go to the back and look at the ocean go to the front and see all the stores. The staff was great and very friendly will definitely go back.
- James (4/5): What a dump. - I should have known it was going to be bad when he started spraying febreze when I was walking up to the door. You had to park two blocks away which made for an uneasy night's sleep. The property was dirty and dated. The sheets and towels were stained. It was conveniently on the beach and downtown. I will never book here again.
- Loretta (2/5): - Very uncomfortable beds the pull out was springs no filling i will not stay again paid too much for what i got and cost too much for my dag
- Flordeluz (6/5): - Blow dryer never work. The white towels where stain. The bathroom wall and door need to Be fix the door has a small hole. Room smell like smoke even that was a non smoker Room. Floor are dirty with sand and doesn't change the toilet paper of the prevouis guest. The sofa bed is stain the mattress is not cover and no one can sleep in there or you can be stab by the metal sprin. The bed was comfy.
- Katrina (6/5): - It was alright. It is an average beach hotel.
- Lauren (10/5): - All in all, it’s a great little place. At first, I thought how unsafe it seemed and how it was going to be a rough night. Then, I saw the room, location is amazing and there are kids here too. Much safer than other places I have stayed at VA Beach. No pool, however, no need. You can walk right out to the ocean. Bed was a little small and firm, but, did it’s job. Wouldn’t pay more than $200-225 a night during the summer season.
- Alejandra (10/5): - Excelente ubicación a solo pocos pies del mar, comodo y limpio, ideal para familias!
- Richard (10/5): - Great for the price and pet friendly
- marsha (2/5): - We will never stay here again. There was a bloody finger print on the bathroom door. Pieces of the shower were missing on the faucet that made it look like a peep hole and in the above bathroom light fixture. The facility and parking itself were creepy and the front desk clerk was creepy and sleeping in the room by the parking space we had. He also said we could check in early if we gave him $40 cash and that was also creepy. We did pay $40 cash to check I .
- Felicia (8/5): - Need some updating
- Glenn (10/5): - 50 foot walk from the boardwalk and beach. Great location and value. Rooms have hardwood floors and felt clean. Manager/Owner let me extend my parking onsite to the next day. $60 for 2 dogs was very fair (thought it would be $120).
- Niketra (10/5): Great service!! - My daughter left her Nintendo switch in the room. The manager called me and mailed it back to us ❤️. Any other hotel wouldn’t have done this for us. Our stay was comfortable and convenient! No bugs either!!
- Adam (4/5): - Worst Hotel on the street. But not unlivable if you need a place.
- Shaunte (2/5): - First off the staff charged me extra fees that was not on the website , First thing he said was “ I am not trying to take your money “ umm.. He charges me an extra fee for 2 nights for a child , a resort fee when clearly it’s a MOTEL no ice machine , no elevator ,Towels were dirty, I had to walk up a flight of stairs with bags SMH.. The headboard fell down almost hurt my son , they had ROACHES baby ones and a big one they were coming out the walls smh… My kids and I had to shower with slides on bathroom filthy just everything , I had to deep clean myself , good thing we brought our own stuff, pullout couch hard all you felt was the SPRINGS .. manager told me I could not get a refund !!! Once I checked out I advise the staff same staff from checking in to call PEST CONTROL he told me I was a Lier very unprofessional he got mad and started to yell at me and asked do I believe in Jesus Christ - weird. My stay was HORRIBLE I will NEVER COME BACK HERE … The man was harassing me my whole stay!
- Rob (8/5): - Not to bad of a stay. Wish parking was different but it was ok.
- Rob (8/5): Overall good - Check-in sucked but overall good stay.
- Yvanna (10/5): - Beautiful view from the newly renovated second floor balcony. Friendly staff, very helpful with directions to rooms and off site parking!
- Kayla (2/5): - Where to begin, this place was by far the worst hotel i’ve ever stayed at in Va beach. The rooms are filthy, they do the bare minimum of cleaning, i don’t even wanna talk about the horrible parking situation. We were charged parking about 4 blocks away from the actual hotel. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. It was definitely a deep disappointment staying here. I do not recommend to ever stay here. Its probably honestly just worth it to pay the extra money for a clean and safe hotel.
- Cassie (2/5): - Nothing
- Rowena (6/5): - You get what you pay for. Room is clean but smells like a dog stayed there prior to us. I also booked for an ocean view room, but the room was blocked by a high deck and could not see the ocean at all unless you go to the deck and stand on a platform. Staff are nice though. Parking is also offsite.
- Harley (4/5): - The access to the beach was nice, but the owner was rude cleaning staff was very nice. Outside after 9pm was outrageous so many fights and loud noises actually woke our daughter and the amount of times the cops were right outside our hotel from the fights.
- Annabel (8/5): - It was clean and has enough space for my family. Convenient since it's close to the seashore.
- Melissa (10/5): - For the price it was definitely worth it and I would stay again. There was some hair in the bathroom. There’s only 4 spots to park on-site. Not sure if there is an elevator. Staff was excellent. It was worth saving 300 to 400 dollars to clean the room a little better. I always take wipes anyway. No odor no bedbugs and nice room.
- Andrea (4/5): - Supposed to be water view but it was not.
Supposed to be newly renovated it was not.
- Brandon (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE!! If I could rate a 0 I would. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room next to us had all their sheets pulled off when we got there saying they had bed bugs in their room, the bathroom had stuff smeared all over the walls. It says it’s a 24hr office the door was locked and the lights were off when I went to talk to the front desk. The parking is no where close it’s in a dark lot several streets over from the hotel. After how bad the check in experience was we didn’t even use the room, we tried just going to the beach, then when we came back I didn’t even have anyone to complain about the room to and ended up paying $400 for a room I couldn’t even use because of how bad it was. So I ended up driving 3 hours home with my family after how bad the whole experience was.
- Brenda (2/5): - False advertising not ocean front room not as clean for price I paid worse hotel I ever stayed in
You cannot see anything from here but the street
Would not recommend this place to anyone ever
