- Chanmonie (6/5): I was sad to see a decline in management of the facilities. - Compound and security Need to have lounge chairs with umbrellas around the compound. Also, the lobby lounge area need improvement with addition of a sectional/lounge seating. There clearly is a decline in the accommodations over the years I’ve stayed at this hotel as the management is not the same. Furnitures and mattress old and uncomfortable. No light lamps available next to bed. Limited electrical outlets to accommodate guests staying in room.

- Sharon (7/5): Okay, but will probably not return. - Loved the delicious Guyanese breakfasts and Sunday brunch. Nice and helpful staff. Very reasonable executive taxi service on site. Craft stall on site which was cheaper than the mall and the airport. National park nearby which had outdoor gyms and a path for jogging. Away from the hustle and bustle of Central Georgetown. Good having a microwave and fridge in the room. Mixup with our booking and payment on arrival. This was subsequently sorted the following day. Issues with the air conditioning unit leaking. The last night was spoiled by the neighbours across the road playing loud music all night during a weeknight. No lift, had to struggle with luggage up the stairs. No kettle in the room.

The breakfast buffet could include more items. There was quite a lot of noise in my room in the evening and in the morning - either from neighboring rooms or from the corridor.

- Deanne (9/5): Once in a lifetime stay! - Our executive queen balcony room had a partial view of the lovely garden. We appreciated the two beds, one for my daughter and myself. After a day of sight-seeing, returning to an air-conditioned room was wonderful. We were very comfortable with all the amenities provided. We enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners which offered a variety of delicious Guyanese foods prepared by on-site chefs. An Amerindian mother and daughter had beautiful homemade handicrafts for sale. The staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly. They made all the difference in our mother-daughter adventure to Guyana. Only small things, which did not detract from our over-all first-rate experience, at the time of our stay the hand/body lotion was not available. Our room faced the street which could be get busy with traffic noise etc. which was only a problem at night, I used earplugs to sleep which solved this issue. Massage therapy no longer offered so bathrobes and slippers are not provided.

- Leon (6/5): Keep records of your reservation or get scammed. - They claimed they couldn’t find my reservation and when I produced it on my phone they found another excuse. Eventually, they said they only had a more expensive (twice) than what was reserved. It was almost 2 am in the morning and left me with no other desirable alternative. I ended up staying there. A classic case of baiting and switching.

The building is nice and cozy colonial style and blended wonderful with the plans, flowers and landscapes. Its perfect for couples who want somewhere in the city away from the crowds and noise.

- Carricatti (6/5): Bueno, pero se puede mejorar significativamente. - Me quede una noche para probar que tal era el hotel ya que estaba harto del Ramada y su pesimo servicio, y aunque es mejor es servicio y atencion, lamentablemente para el precio de las habitaciones, es algo que puede mejorarse. El desayuno es muy local, y pudieran hacerlo un poco mas internacional o balanceado. Esto es importante para la mayoria de los visitante que van por trabajo, y definitivamente algo donde tienen que mejorar.

Washcloth was dirty and they had a short supply of washcloth. I consider having the bathroom cleaned with some bleach to prevent the shower from getting this way.

Insgesamt ist das Preisniveau in Guyana erstaunlich hoch, was sich auch in den Zimmerpreisen widerspiegelt. Kann die Herdmanston Lodge aber auf jeden Fall nur weiterempfehlen

I checked in, I was escorted to my room, I had a pleasant sleep and a delicious breakfast. The staff members were welcoming and professional. The security officers were polite. Check out time was too early lol. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to sleep some more.

I have been staying at HERDMANSTON LODGE HOTEL from the time it was opened. The breakfast is excellent. The BAKES and SALT FISH excellent. The PEPPERPOT excellent. The ROOM clean and pleasant. Miss Toresta Springer who looked after my room at 202 was excellent. Bed was comfortable and well made. Towels clean and fresh. Bins clean and pleasant. Miss EDNA and the late MR WILLIAM the owners were excellent. Miss DEE and MR George the younger owners are excellent too. It was MR George who booked me in the hotel for my first stay around thirty years ago. The hotel is like HOME AWAY FROM HOME for me. We, my family, have always enjoyed our stay at HERDMANSTON LODGE HOTEL, We have stayed in most of those rooms. We have stayed in WALES room where the late QUEEN ELIZABETH and PRINCE PHILIP stayed. PRINCE CHARLES now KING CHARLES also stayed IN WALES room. The rooms are named after the BOOKERS Sugar Estates found in GUYANA/Formerly BRITISH GUIANA. The late Mr Williams bought HERDMANSTON LODGE HOTEL from BOOKERS where he once worked. My father also worked at Wales Sugar Estate making Demera Rum and Demerara Sugar. WOW, It is a long history and geography. I liked EVERYTHING. It is my go to Hotel... LOL

- Fabricio (7/5): Buena opcion teniendo en cuenta las opciones que hay en la ciudad - Es un antiguo hotel, bastante bien mantenido en gral, buena ubicacion, zona segura en general , el desayuno es muy basico. Los hoteles en Guyana son caros y la relacion calidad-precio suele ser algo que no esta bien balanceado . Definitivamente el desayuno , muy modesto por el precio de la habitacion. El resto cumplio las expectativas.
- Sharon (8/5): - This is a small family-owned hotel, and find it's personalized nature to be very satisfying. Many of the staff have worked for the hotel for many years, and they recognize you by name. I feel very at home and safe while staying there.

My Aunt is a senior, and the steps were too much for her. The first night, there was a party in the yard, and we did not get much sleep as the room was above the music and tents.
