• Sheyla (10/5): - Let me first start off by saying the staff is awesome. From welcoming us to providing all type of information as to what activities to do around the island. The rooms were beautiful. The garden & beautiful plants, surrounded by nature. The staff from the kitchen to the bar were so professional and friendly. The food was amazing. The seafood soup is a must have. The only this was the WIFI was not working well that day so it was a little frustrating but being out in nature makes you live the moment. I would definitely visit again and recommend 10 out of 10.
• Elaf (4/5): - I’m very confused as to how this property has many great reviews given the issues we had. We arrived at the property the first night; cabin was outdated. Sink and toilet bowl had a ring of dirt like it was never cleaned. The water in the shower was barely running. Wifi was sporadic. There was no TV. The bed did not have a headboard which made it so uncomfortable. My room and carpet was dirty. The restaurant was overpriced. They even charge for beach towels which was the first time I’ve ever had to do that. The list of cons just goes on and on and on. We tried to cancel our 2nd night reservation at the property and we also contacted hotels.com to intervene but they did not allow it. They however gave us another room. The next room was oceanfront. Beautiful compared to the first one. No issues with the water this time, but as for the cleanliness, we unfortunately had same issue. The bedsheets smelled horrible like it was not washed. There were small poop droplets of God knows what animal and the cabin had ants. I would recommend trying another spot unless you don’t mind all the things listed above

• Pavel Ivanovich (10/5): - We loved our stay here. We needed 2 nights, but booked one night, in case if we didn’t like it, we could just get another hotel. But when we got here, we fell in love with this property, and booked another night!! (You need to drive 2 miles dirt road, but then you are in paradise!!!) In my opinion, it’s the best hotel in Omatepe. (We drove around and looked quite few properties)
• Bryan (8/5): - To my knowledge, this is one of the better lodging places on the island. The hotel is very well maintained by its staff and all of them do their best to make sure you enjoy your experience there. Carolina at the front desk was helpful to me every day as I tried to plan my time on the island with excursions and arranging reservations to kayak and things on what to do based on the time of day and weather. The one drawback is that the reception closes at 8 PM and so does the restaurant and bar. This makes it difficult as I wasn’t aware because the hotel is 2 km off the main road of the island, which if you don’t have a quad or a scooter, then the only way to leave the hotel is to rent one of them or a vehicle. Hence you pay for a more high-end experience on the island with beautiful lush gardens and quite spaces, however, that also means that it can be hard harder to plan your transportation around the island at times. Also one important note, this hotel is owned and operated by local Nicaraguans so staying here also supports the community and people if you are supportive of traveling ethically.

The location is breathtakingly beautiful with its forestry natural landscape, wildlife in the trees (monkeys!) and opportunities to horseback ride all around the property, pueblito, and the beach. Stunning views and the only sad thing is we could not stay longer due to other plans, but we’ll be back here for sure!

Cons: - not the fault of the finca but plenty of mosquitos around due to pond behind cabins - poorly lit path from main road to the finca - overpriced food. We had 4 different menu items and would only recommend the chicken and carrot soup. -due to the sand and windy conditions, the rug in the room needed a good cleaning.

We left a day early because my 12 yr old couldn’t take it anymore. No toiletries are provided in the rooms, the rooms have a musty smell, the attention to the client is non existent. Do not recommend.

The entrance from the main road is 2 kilometers down a rustic road that might seemed like you’re lost but just keep going till you pass the banana plantation. It’s a beach side property with friendly staff.

In this particular hotel, there was some sort of creature leaving poop in the room which grossed us out. Perhaps because it’s the dry season and very hot, bugs swarming everywhere moreso at this property than the other 2 we stayed at on the island. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Food and juices etc very good as well. Overall was disappointed in the room as we like nicer lodging opportunities while on vacation, but seems to be more of basic options on the island.

Pleasant surrounds, breakfast adequate and plenty of hot water. Econ rooms sufficient for the stay. One slight problem, but rectifies soon enough.

The 3-person room we had was clean, comfortable with AC that worked well, but interior lighting was quite dim, and wifi was very sporadic. Otherwise an absolutely stunning location right on the lake with a beach that you could walk out part way into the water.

• Samantha (10/5): - Finca San Juan was a wonderful place to stay! The farm was so beautiful and it felt like a private oasis. Everything was clean and the grounds were pristinely kept. The staff was excellent. Everyone was so friendly. We do not speak Spanish well but the staff was patient and kind in communicating with us. The farm is 2 kilometers off the road and the terrain is tough. We were able to get to and from the farm on a motorbike but an ATV or dirt bike would have probably been the best option. Also, the food and drinks were excellent! Juan makes the best margarita I have ever had! The AC in the room was great as well as the hot water. We had a great stay here.
• denisse (2/5): - They need to get new AC units in the rooms, they moved me 3 times of the rooms cause the AC broke down 3 times 😒 to finally they moved me to a different room with a better AC unit, also they should have some from reception at least till 8pm in case of the emergency, the lady they have she leaves before 5pm so disappointed

The lakeside cabins are clean, comfortable, and situated right in front of the lake, with melodic waves lapping the shore as you sleep. We stayed two nights. Dinners were delicious, ranging with grass-fed meat options to whole fried fish. Hammocks, space, rocking chairs all around. We packed in a lot while visiting the island. We went to Ojo de Aguas, climbed Maderas to the falls, and kayaked on the Istian River. All of this can be arranged through the hotel. The owner is intent on making it a magical experience for all her guests.

Hardly any wifi. Find out ahead of time where to go or plan for exit and then get internet to help out with it . Overall a very nice experience .

• Christopher (6/5): Lake-front log cabins on isolated property - This is an isolated property with lake front log cabins, beautiful gardens, and a restaurant. The views are great and the beds are comfortable! Each cabin has its own deck to relax out on. Just know that you are 2km from the main road and not within walking distance to any activities or other restaurants. Without your own vehicle you are limited to the hotel restaurant, which is over priced. Or you can call for a taxi to take you places. Check the weather before going. It was very windy when we went in early Feb.

They have rocking chairs and hammocks everywhere so you can relax. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They also have AC and hot water. The only downside was the multiple power outages and the food. Breakfast was good and the soups were delicious, unfortunately, everything else la lacked flavor and spices.
• Adrienne (10/5): Great experience - I had a great experience staying here. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Being close to the water helped me sleep well. They have AC and hot water which made it very comfortable to stay here. They offer horseback riding for $10 an hour. Breakfast is free. They helped arranged a hiking tour for me and I enjoyed it. They also made reservations for me to take the ferry with my car. I would stay there again. It was worth every penny spent.
• Ana (10/5): A hiden gem in ometepe! - This is my second time in this hotel, I came 5 years ago and it was a really nice surprise to see that not only the exceptional service remains unchaged, but also that the hotel is even more beautiful than before. It is located in front of a lake beach, and surrounded with beautiful gardens with a lot of nature on it, we were able to see a lot of birds, butterflies, geckos and squirrels just in front of our rooms. All the hotel areas were really clean, rooms were very comfortable and the architecture its just beautiful. The staff were very nice and they even made some special dishes for us. Ometepe is full of mosquitos everywhere so dont forget to bring your repelent. This is for sure the best place to stay while you are visiting Ometepe.

The food was so good we had a blast! During our stay we went for a hike and visited beaches with a tour guide for a great price. Everything was remarkable that I would definitely come back soon
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice place, well maintained! Great food. I booked two rooms, one for my aunt and one for my family. Keep in mind they were two different prices as the family room with 3 beds was more expensive. After my reservation was made and paid they contacted me saying that the family room only covered two people and that I needed to pay extra for my children. That was disappointing conSide ring I had already paid then over $250 for one night. With all that said, not sure that I would go back considering all of the options to stay at other places on the island.
• Eddy (10/5): - Great place to relax, the views, the rooms and the food were excellent. Best place in ometepe, we will be coming back soon! Great location also, ojo de agua is nearby and Altagracia. Also it’s a 30 min drive to Moyogalpa. 4x4 is not required to enter hotel or overall , I paid extra for a 4x4 pick up but never had the need to use it.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is very secluded and well maintained. We loved swinging in the hammocks which were right outside the doors of each unit. There is a great view of Volcan Concepcion on one side and the beach on the other. The restaurant area is beautiful. Our server, Juan Jose was so kind and accommodating, not to mention that the food was superb. Would happily stay here again.
• Tom (8/5): Wonderful pace - The Fincas are such beautiful private resort, ideally located at the best beach. The rooms and facilities are truly great, free breakfast served with view of the lake front. The only thing they need to add is a free transfer from the ferry point as the hotel is a long way from there and we took a 1 hour chicken bus and then walked 1/2 hour in the dark and rain to find the hotel.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome. In a word, this place is pretty awesome. I would highly recommend it to anybody. You won't believe this, but I swear it is the absolute truth. My fiancé and I had to catch an early ferry, but we both slept through our alarms. So guess what mysteriously happened? A bunch of howler monkeys showed up in a tree out in front of our cabana to wake us up on time. It was like the monkeys knew we needed to get up. I was crazy. The rooms are clean and the food is great. I had a great stay.

• James (10/5): - Nicaragua is a special part of the work, Ometepe is a special part of Nicaragua and Finca San Juan is a special part of Ometepe. From the moment you emerge from the 2km track from the road Finca San Juan reveals what a special place it is. The location is MAGNIFICENT; lakeside with a nice beach and views of both volcanoes. The amount of wildlife is also excellent. The rooms, the buildings and installations show an amazing attention to detail. Where possible original materials from the old hacienda have been used. And finally, the Staff are so friendly, attentive and courteous. The food they prepare freshly for you is healthy, local and delicious. This was a special few days for me and Finca San Juan will forever hold a place in my heart!
