Guest Reviews

- Vannessa (1/5): Disappointed and unprofessional! - I am deeply disappointed by the way people are treated here. It feels like they are taking advantage of guests’ misery instead of understanding!
The behavior I experienced was completely unprofessional and utterly lacking in empathy. In situations where you would expect basic human decency and respect of our situation.
This is not a place where customer care or compassion seems to matter. I would strongly advise others to think twice before engaging with this organization.
- WanderYears (10/5): Magical place on a clean river in the jungle - This is an incredibly magical place. Anna, Paulo and their teams have done an amazing job of providing five-star service in the middle of a beautiful jungle. The accommodations are smart and clean and rustic elegant. The water is warm, clear and clean. Perfect for a swim after trekking the jungle. Perhaps even better this Lodge contributes to the sustainable development of the local communities and to reduced poaching and illegal logging. They work closely with the ministry of environment and local rangers. Highly recommend this stay. Nothing it was fabulous and we'll be back!
- Battini (10/5): A perfect magic place - Perfect. It is a magical place, where everything is thought out and managed with extreme care, thanks to Anna and her staff. A small jewel set in a unique natural environment, which offers comfort of the highest level, respecting not only the guest but also the territory and the local population. A project as well as a resort. The rooms/tents are large, very clean, equipped with everything... even what you don't have time to use (TV, small library, quality bathroom accessories, bathrobes, yoga mat...) there is no air conditioning but it gets better: a very efficient system of fans with adequate power. The bathrooms are large, ventilated. Each room has its own privacy and outdoor spaces. Discreet but constant supervision. There are many common areas, well distributed and well maintained. The food is really great, prepared fresh for every meal. The activities offered - both free and paid - are studied in detail and allow you to understand how the life of the communities and the ecosystem works in this part of the world. The staff is recruited from local communities and prepared for an international welcome. In addition to this, the enthusiasm and passion of the staff are contagious, they convey a sense of pride and joy. Our personal thanks to Boora, Nareen (I certainly spelled it wrong... sorry) and of course Paolo who took care of us. Anna, already mentioned, unbelievable. I won't say anything else so as not to spoil a fantastic experience, made up of many little extra kindnesses that make this magical place. Each price would still be low for what they offer, but in any case it is always a fair cost, lower than what you might imagine and compared to the value of what you buy... a generous and far-sighted management to which I wish all possible satisfaction. Nothing

- David (10/5): Calm, relaxing, invigorating luxury whilst helping the environment and the local community -
- Shah (10/5): Magical - I’m not sure that the descriptions does this place justice. It is a magical calm haven where you are surrounded by nature.

Snídaně i večeře vynikající.

- Deborah (10/5): Tranquil glamping on the river - The staff were really friendly and made an effort to adjust schedules to make the most of the gaps in the rain so that we could see as much as possible in our short stay. We enjoyed the boat trip.and the kayaking. The food was delicious and the tents were really comfortable. We were impressed with how clean everything was kept throughout the resort despite the pouring rain at times. It would be nice if there was a short walking trail from the resort just so that you could explore a little on your own.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Bailey (6/5): Pleasant - It needs an actual air conditioning unit. Bottom line. I booked 3 nights and left after the first night because I was miserably hot and sticky zipped up inside a tent in the rainforest of southern Cambodia.
- Tobias (10/5): One of the most unique and meaningful experiences we‘ve had so far on our trips. - Not only was the property in the heart of the jungle but also ran by the kindest staff we have ever met. The accommodation was unique and luxurious. The meals were delicious and thoughtful. We especially enjoyed the adventurous hiking and waterfall tours. On top, knowing that the resort is fulfilling a meaningful purpose for nature and good causes (supporting locals /-projects) is the reason it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
- Kirstie (10/5): Exceptional - Ravi and the staff were incredibly helpful all the way through our stay. Also super helpful organising taxis and all the staff were totally delightful loved kayaking around the island too. Loved it all! The morning hike was a great experience too.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful secluded property in a peaceful location. The tents are very roomy, clean, although hot during the day as they don’t have air conditioning, only evaporative cooler in the room. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Also don’t miss the free firefly tour at night.
- Georgios (9/5): A unique experience in an amazing location - The location is simply amazing. Set on a private island in Tatai river, you have complete privacy and peace. The floating tent is spacious with great bathroom and views of the river (you are actually ON the river!). The food is great and so are the drinks and breakfast.
The only problem is the amount of mosquitoes and insects; you constantly have to apply repellent and keep the tent door closed. The staff are going the extra mile but there is only so much you can do against nature.
Activities are overpriced in my opinion; but keep in mind that the hotel is doing a lot to support the local communities and protect the environment, so your money goes to a good cause.
All in all, a unique unforgettable experience!
- Helle (8/5): - We arrived on March11 . the service is in Top . They helped us moving tent and were very attentive. Breakfast also nice, with fresh juice, eggs, bread, yoghurt and fruits, frief nodles.
There trips did not impreøse
us that much. We did the morning Walk….and one of the boys did not spreak any english. Where were the animals. The Big area that was burnt? And where are the birds? Se heard a tiny bits about
- Samer (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Magical stay - breathtaking and memorable! - The location is breathtaking and worth the treat! The river tents are magical. You can swim from your tent and take a canoe out. The Food was excellent! They had various day trips and an opportunity to see fireflies every evening (weather dependant). It rained for some of the time we were here which just added to the Beauty of the place .. listening to the rain beating down on the tent at night! We felt that the Mangrove boat tour was a long one with not enough time around the mangroves.. but our guide was lovely and eating lunch cooked for us on the riverside was great!
- Jeffrey (10/5): Idyllic peaceful retreat with plenty of activities - What a brilliant and unexpected place! Located on an island in the middle of the Tatai River, we were welcomed with big smiles from the entire team. They are super organised with the activities and the food preparation. Food was amazing and delicious! The coffee was excellent. The tents are super comfortable with the great option of direct access to the river for a swim. The kayaks were in excellent condition and made for a great afternoon adventure. Proceeds go directly to the local school and community. The trekking tour was well guided and very enjoyable. The boat transfer to the island was smooth. The entire staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Wifi didn't quite stretch to the room. Would be nice if there was a walking route all the way around the island.
- Liesel (1/5): I don’t recommend this place given our horrible experience. - We had money stolen from our room. The staff were very concerned but the owner, Valentin, was extremely rude and unapologetic. He inferred we were lying or that it was our fault. He showed no concern that one of his staff stole from us and was also very unconcerned about our loss. We were shocked. Not at all what you’d expect from a place like this.
- Angeliki (10/5): Special serene beautiful - This was one of the most special places I've ever stayed in. It's a little paradise. Nothing to do but kayak swim eat and catch sunsets. The staff are outstanding, and everything was super organized and thought out. Swimming in Tatai river was amazing and they're kayaks you can take for free. The rooms are beautiful and even though there's no air-conditioning there are many high tech fans to make up for it. The free firefly tour was also very special. The hotel has an ethos to support the local community and protect the environment. It was worth traveling to this part of Cambodia to be here. The tours were maybe a bit overpriced but the food offered on them was of good quality.
- Bernadette (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): Idyllic place to stay - Wonderful location on the river. Lovely tent room. Great facilities. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (8/5): Very good - room, location, activities, food, drinks all good and good range of options
its a beautiful setting and the staff and logistics arranged were perfect to get there and back
clean throughout health and safety considerations on the boats/tour/around water were perhaps a little lacking. Could be improved since it is a remote location. those with children would need to supervise them.
make sure to bring everything you might need with you, and some shoes for water activities.
- Nicola (10/5): Incredible prestine heavenly stay with the most amazing staff - Beautiful. Clean . A slice of paradise. Nothing.
- Pascale (7/5): Definitely recommend the place . Not cheap but it worth it. - The location , the staff , the food , the accommodation. Outdoor furnitures .
The bar area.
Could be more confortable and plastic free .
- Connie (10/5): Sensational - Canvas and Orchids is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Such a beautiful relaxing setting, we loved jumping straight into the water from our decking and exploring the river on kayaks. The staff went above and beyond to look after us and help us explore and get to know the local area. Food was delicious and all the activities we signed up for were excellent. Desperate to go back!
- Craig (10/5): Luxury Resort in a perfect jungle setting - Wonderful resort in amazing location on the Tatai River
We did a number of the tours to get as much out of the area as possible.
The resort has Kayaks for you to use and they were good to explore the river and area.
The staff were excellent and the breakfasts and dinner options were very good and the quality very high.
The floating tents on the river were amazing and you had direct access to the river from the tent for swimming and kayaking. nothing
- Natalie (10/5): A peaceful and tranquil riverside treat - Such a peaceful and tranquil place! This is the perfect place to relax in a beautiful, riverside setting. We had a room on the water and it was so fun to jump into the river and float downstream for 5 minutes and arrive at the entrance to the resort. The staff are lovely, and took us on a brilliant tour to the waterfall which involved swimming in pools, being massaged by the waterfall and kayaking. Free kayaks available. Yummy dinners. The only annoying thing was the incessant emails I received prior to arrival, demanding to know every detail about how we were arriving etc (which we didn't know until the day before). But once we arrived, all was perfect.
- Maria (10/5): Amazing unique experience and friendly staff. - Such a unique experience in the rainforest. I loved the that the purpose is sustainability, eco-tourism and to employ the local community so they do not need to poach animals anymore and to try and break that industry in the area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The roads to Tatai are particularly bad - allow an hour or two longer to travel to the docking point so you don’t miss your boat
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Wonderful experience. Beautiful setting, really special - Beautiful setting. Lovely staff. Great food. Wonderful stay Pricey
- Manuela (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (10/5): Lovely spot - Lovely spot in the jungle very relaxing and friendly staff. Good food
Some of the trips not great value / feel expensive
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Jim (8/5): Fabulous location, excellent staff (especially the junior guides), eco-friendly and very comfortable given environment. -
- Ylenia (8/5): Special experience - Very unique experience. Very welcoming and helpful staff.
- Marina (10/5): Beautiful place - Beautiful quiet place to just enjoy! Swimming in the river, kajaking or the fire flies tour, everything was great. And the staff is simply amazing! Would come back anytime :) Nothing
- Raphaelfreitas (7/5): Good -
- Lyall (7/5): A slice of paradise with lovely people - Great staff attitude - we went in a quiet time and they were training new staff. Played volleyball with them. Amazing tent situation but water came in as the flaps were left open - which was kinda our fault It’s definitely a stay and chill place - can’t really go anywhere except for guided boat trips - but maybe that’s the point - just chillax!
- Tetmony (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): I will never forget it or the fire fly’s! - Its unique and so beautiful and the people made it, they were so kind to me as a solo traveller and I loved their enthusiasm to make us aware of the challenges they and the environment gave and deal with brilliantly nothing
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Laid back and quiet, stunning views. The food was great and the staff were excellent. It was good to see how much the resort helps with the local community in terms of employment and procurement of local produce. Nothing
- Vivien (10/5): Exceptional -
- JohnandVuoch (8/5): - Great Boat ride to the Hotel, Tents were amazing no aircon but you dont need it, Anna the Owner was great explaining everthing in detail, my Khmer Wife and i stayed for 3 nights, food great, staff amazing all of them and especoially Narong, tours were great to, sorry if i cant remember your names but a idillic and peaceful setting with no interuptions, great place to get away from the rat race
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great getaway with lovely staff..... It would be nice if more activities were available
- Verified traveler (8/5): Unique accommadation - Beautiful tranquil location. Very friendly staff, nice food, comfy bed, spacious accommodation. Good place to unwind knowing that every effort is being made not to impact the eco structure of the surrounding environment.
- Jonathan (10/5): It’s a privilege to be allowed to stay here - Wonderful 5 days here with some truly amazing staff, food and service. Difficult to describe the surroundings and ambiance, you really have to get there to experience it. I would say it is completely multi dimensional in every sense. Anna and her family of 18 staff are completely devoted to making your stay as memorable as is possible.
- Brenton (10/5): Amazing - Extremely polite staff. Very professional. Arranged everything for us - including the taxi from phnom phen.
Would strongly recommend.
- Donald (10/5): Tranquility on a river in a forest - 4 Rivers Floating Lodge is exactly what its name suggests: a twelve room luxury lodge, floating on the lower reaches Tatai River in Cambodia's Cardamom Mountains. It is very secluded, quiet, and tranquil, and the staff and management are extremely competent, professional, and helpful. The lodge is expensive by Cambodian standards, but considering the fact that everything needs to be brought to the place by river, this is understandable. For me, the location and setting makes the 4 Rivers Lodge well worth the price.
